Do you like shark movies? The 'bad' ones :D? like Sandshark, Sharknado, Snowshark, Ghostshark, Sharktocpus, 5-headed-Shark? Then this Manga is for you.

It's such an hilarious idea, that Shiromi can summon a fucking shark from another world, who can turn itself into a killing machine, especially when it sees love couples. It's really an homage at every b-movie with sharks in it. And the shark looks amazing.

But sadly that's all what I found great.
Because Shiromi herself is an annoying shitshow of a brat, who gets on my nerve within the first chapters.
She got bullied by everyone, but she is still all the "OH I GONNA RESCUE THE WORLD BCS IM SO G O O D, and they probably all didn't mean it". Within the whole book she got mobbed, she got attacked by her school mates, then she got sold as a sacrifice, tried to be enslaved, and even tried to "talk it out" with a demon general =_= while shanting sorry sorry for what her shark is doing, and crying a lot.

It is so off putting, that I can't be bothered by reading the next books.

More like 2,5* and dropped the series.

Fabulous gory art. I love the juxtaposition of the shark in rage mode vs it in its super cute mode. I could see the story getting repetitive over time but this was an enjoyable volume.

Content warnings: blood, gore, death, graphic violence, bullying, war

I have wanted to read this since I saw the cover on our library supplier's website. Like, I'm trash for shark-related content so obviously I was going to read this. But there's just something so deeply FUNNY about the cover that I knew it was going to work for me.

The story was, I will admit, a little over the top ridiculous. But I had such a great time reading this that I genuinely didn't care. The sweary fairy had me cackling. The shark-demon was strangely precious. And the story as a whole was a lot of fun. All in all? A joy to read.

I appear to be a sucker for a ridiculous concept, at least for a volume or two. Sometimes, these series are better than they have any right to be, like the "you have to kill your space alien teacher" premise of Assassination Classroom, or the insane ghost and UFO-filled mayhem of Dandadan. Sometimes, they're like Shibuya Goldfish, where the weirdness just doesn't click. And sometimes, they fall somewhere in the middle.

Killer Shark in Another World had the potential to be utter genius, taking two subjectively lackluster things (the isekai genre, and the absurdly prolific killer shark genre of b-movie horror), and elevating both of them by combining them in a way that no sane person would think of. The idea of a summoner calling the essence of these movies forth into her world to use as a familiar actually has a surprising amount of potential legs--so to speak. There are already a lot of films represented, just in this volume, from Jaws, to 3-Headed Shark Attack, to Sharktopus, and I guess you could include Ghost Shark, or maybe Sharks of the Corn, since Sharkiller (the familiar) can swim through the ground. And there is absolutely no shortage of other equally batshit cinema out there to draw from.

Kuboken clearly has a passion for these films, as evidenced by a section where he waxes poetic about the evolutionary perfection of sharks, and the physics of one flying around in a tornado. I just wish he'd brought the same gusto to bear on the rest of the world the story takes place in. But sadly, it's just sort of an off-the-shelf fantasy land where the Demon King is rampaging, and Shiromi, our unlikely hero, is the only one who can possibly save the day with her newfound familiar. We get a little break from the mold, seeing that the people Shiromi is striving to save are often self-centered opportunists, narcissists, and overall jerks who might not be worth saving, but it doesn't feel like it does enough to break the mold.

I've certainly read worse books--particularly in the isekai genre--but I've also read better ones. I might pick up more volumes of Killer Shark at some point if I find it on sale or something, but it's nowhere near the top of my list of series to pursue.

B Movie Madness

When the ordinary country girl named Shiromi Lovecut-Toothrough (what a name huh) took teasing too seriously she made up her mind to use what limited ability she has to become a summoner so she can help over throw the fiendish Demon King. However she doesn't show any real talent for summoning anything that would be useful in the fight so it is a surprise when her final attempt summons a relatively cute shark of all things. However the familiar named Sharkiller (again what a name) is more than he appears and is actually far more dangerous then he first appears being able to draw from a mix and match assortment of shark related movie abilities and a taste for carnage. Among these abilities I had the distinct displeasure of discovering a movie called "House Shark" thanks to a scene in the book of Sharkiller attacking a bad guy from a toilet. Honestly trying to figure out where the various powers come from is kind of fun though I found one stinker so far.

That being the premise of the series I should mention Shiromi is not only a good person but a lot of the other humans in the world are kind of...rude which could be partially due to the oppression of an evil monster and his army but still sometimes seeing Shiromi getting abused and terrorized at times is a little brutal and some readers might not be able to take the very graphic shark attack scenes so take these things into consideration before trying this book.

I loved this!!! The movie jokes are awesome, but even without that, this has a really good story. Shiromi is hopelessly adorable, and the shark is awesome. I love sharks, so this is great being both adorable cute and ferociously aggressive.
I can't wait to see where this series goes.

Quite possibly the most ridiculous premise I've ever heard of, but I absolutely love it. It's perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.

I liked it but it doesn't take itself at all seriously. it's funny but feels very much like it's poking fun at shark related pop culture. Perhaps that was the point.

Stupid, silly, but oh so campy! Honestly, I loved every second of this manga. I don't care if it was cliche and had a stereotypical trope. I enjoyed myself! I loved the references to different stupid shark movies... Sharknado...Jaws.... it was just gory, silly and funny. I read this in like not even two hours.

Anyways, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick, humorous read. Also, to anyone who feels like a teenage boy in their heart. Knocked off two stars for the predictable plot and action but keeping three, because some moments really took me by surprise.

Exactement ce que dit le titre; un requin tueur démoniaque se fait isekai dans un monde de fantasy par Shiromi, une jeune invocatrice, et se met à tout ravager parce qu'il est hyper-puissant. C'est stupide et j'adore.
