Book 2 in The Gray Knight Series:

One was the sun and the other was the moon.
Now how on earth was a girl meant to pick?

I came back to Saint Claire—back to my old life and the wolf shifters that had been like family to me until that fateful night—to make amends and offer my aid against the rogues that were terrorising their pack.

I never expected the charming and impervious Knight Captain to come for me.
The one who I had a fling with at the academy. Who taught me how to be a hunter and helped me find myself.
But he did.
Leaving me with a choice between the wolf, who had once been my whole world, and the Knight, who changed my world.

Having two boys fighting for you wasn’t as glamorous as everyone made it out to be.

I’m the bridge between their two worlds. A Knight and an advocate for the wolves.
It’s in my blood.

So how could I possibly choose between them with a treaty so precarious and a host of enemies at our backdoor?

Now all I can do is look to the stars for answers, hoping that they’ll give me guidance because this is the biggest decision I’ve ever had to make.
And making decisions was never my strong suit.

*This is book 2 in the series. Supernova must be read before reading Stargazer. Perfect for readers who love paranormal romance with a wolf shifter/werewolf take. If you love authors like Jaymin Eve, K.F. Breene, Leia Stone, Everly Frost, Tate James and Moonlight Muse, then this might just be your next read. A classic love triangle with two beautiful book boyfriends (sunshine and mysterious/brooding), a lot of sexual tension, unexpected allies and an impending supernatural battle. Recommended for 17+ due to language and sexual situations.

J.A. Jude is an author from Melbourne, Australia. An avid reader from childhood who re-found her love for reading in her adult years, Jude is an artistic soul at heart, obsessed with the escapism that comes from a good book. A pisces dreamer, she spends most of her free time deep in the flow state of creating art—when she’s not binge watching a new TV show with her husband or curled up in bed diving into a new story. When her nose isn’t in a book or covered in paint, she’s out in nature trying to find magic in the real world, from the encasing warmth of golden hour to the shimmer of stars in the night sky.

Sick of working jobs that brought little joy and wondering ‘what if’, Jude began putting her love for writing and creating into writing her own book. A sucker for love, her stories are centred around romance with elements of the supernatural or fantasy worlds that shaped much of her life.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this book! Can I just say, the growth in emotional maturity really popped off in this book, especially for Griff! I really enjoyed the story and LOVE the characters, some more than others (I’m team griff all the way!!) and just had a really good time reading. I love Vee’s character, just the right amount of cool but not overpowered.

My only reason for not giving 4 stars, I wish the soul flame bond was explained a liiiiitle more, and I wanted the ending explained a bit more, kind of to leave me on more of a cliffhanger? If that makes any sense?? Honestly it’s really just me being super picky, and I have no doubts that all will be revealed in the next book… WHICH CANT COME SOON ENOUGH

“Dedicated to all my indecisive queens. I feel you. You are seen.”

One was the sun and the other was the moon. Now how on earth was a girl meant to pick? I came back to Saint Claire-back to my old life and the wolf shifters that had been like family to me until that fateful night-to make amends and offer my aid against the rogues that were terrorising their pack. I never expected the charming and impervious Knight Captain to come for me. The one who I had a fling with at the academy. Who taught me how to be a hunter and helped me find myself.
But he did. Leaving me with a choice between the wolf, who had once been my whole world, and the Knight, who changed my world. Having two boys fighting for you wasn't as glamorous as everyone made it out to be. I'm the bridge between their two worlds. A Knight and an advocate for the wolves. It's in my blood. So how could I possibly choose between them with a treaty so precarious and a host of enemies at our backdoor? Now all I can do is look to the stars for answers, hoping that they'll give me guidance because this is the biggest decision l've ever had to make.
And making decisions was never my strong suit.

I did receive this as an arc read but this review is all my own.

Now I did enjoy this book more than the first. But it still felt like something was lacking from it despite me enjoying the read. The plot was interesting enough to keep me engaged and the romance as well. I’m not normally for love triangles in books but I feel like I’ve read quite a few of them recently and I didn’t mind this one. Overall a decent read! I’m pretty neutral on this one.

I must admit, the conclusion took me by surprise, but I find it quite appealing. I'm uncertain how Vee will handle the news, but I believe that with the support of Grif and even River, she will manage to navigate through it. I'm also glad to see that River has discovered his mate.

This book was so fun, think Twilight when Bella is torn between Edward and Jacob, but dialed up. Stargazer gave me all those deliciously angsty vibes I didn't know I was missing. And oh my, River and Griffin? Yummy doesn't even cover it.

The first half of the book really leaned into the love triangle. Venus is finally forced to figure out what she truly wants, torn between two very different but equally magnetic men. And then the last 20%? Absolute chaos. All the little hints dropped earlier came crashing together in one explosive conclusion that left me reeling, and spinning a dozen new theories.

What I adored was the honesty in the character interactions. There was zero miscommunication trope. Every conversation felt real and transparent, which is rare, and I wasn't once frustrated at the characters (a miracle in itself).

In this book, Venus goes back to River's pack and learns more about the rogue wolves. She steps into a bridge role, uniting wolves and Knights to fight a bigger threat, which gave her arc so much purpose. I also loved how the book balanced her moments with both River and Griffin, I was genuinely stressed trying to pick a side, because unlike Twilight, there's no clear "endgame" here.

We also got so many more POVs, River, Griffin, Kitana, and others. It worked so well because everyone was scattered, and the distinct voices made it easy to know whose perspective we were in without even checking. River's chapters felt calm and protective, Kitana's were badass but caring, Venus' fast-paced and conflicted, Griffin's colourful and sharp, it was such a testament to the Jude's (the author) character work.

And that ending, wow. I had theories, but none of them even came close. The twists were wild, and the way the book leaned into powers, abilities, potions, and chemical-warfare-style magic made the action feel fresh and high-stakes. The last fifth was pure adrenaline, and I love that the next book (Solstice) is set to throw us right into the middle of the battle.

l already miss these characters so much, and even though the trilogy is wrapping up, knowing there'll be novellas and shorts in this universe makes me ridiculously excited to keep living here.

This book was a bit of a rollercoaster. One minute, I was loving it, and the next, I was screaming at Vee through the pages (seriously, Vee, what were you thinking?!). To be fair, I was totally biased from the get-go towards a certain love interest. And that ending? Cliffhangers piled higher than a mountain! Very curious to see what J.A. Jude has planned for book 3. This book was hard to rate, but I realised that a part of me loved Book 1 a tiny bit more.

≻ PACE & WRITING
This book had the same chill, chatty-styled writing as Book 1. I loved getting inside the heads of a few side characters. These new perspectives were introduced smoothly, without taking over the story which I loved! Nothing worse than too many back-and-forth perspectives.

I found the middle dragged a smidge, but that could just be me freaking out because I NEEDED to know how it all unfolded lol.

≻ CHARACTERS
Jealous boys fighting over a girl? Yes, please. This book served up ALL the juicy boy drama!

Good character development. Vee is becoming super strong and independent. Even Griff is changing. We see a side to him in this book that we didn't know existed in book 1.

J.A.Jude also gives us way more of the side characters this time around. Like there's this one scene with a bunch of the new wolf characters together that was so vivid in my head! It would be amazing to see some official character art of the wider group some day.

≻ PLOT
This book is giving me major Stefan-and-Damon-fighting-over-Elena vibes, and I'm HERE FOR IT! This is pretty fitting too since the author has Vampire Diaries references in the books lol.

The plot twist at the end? Damn. Totally unexpected! And the new settings? Loved the change-up. I can't say too much without spoiling it, but the Gray Knights have taken it to the next level. The way the author wrapped up the ending was well thought out. All the clues were there, but you just couldn't piece them together until the big reveal. It made perfect sense in hindsight, but it was still a total surprise.

There was a lot of back-and-forth going on, which definitely built tension and kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm glad things went the way I had hoped it would.

I will say this... there is a potential betrayal... Book 3 better spill the tea!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
🌶️🌶️ 2/5 (mild spice, lots of tension, some fade to black scenes)

This book (and series) officially has a permanent place in my heart as my favorite epic rollercoaster. I can't wait to reread these books and recommend them to everyone! Sending a huge thank you to the incredibly talented @byjajude to writing another masterpiece and allowing me to read it in advance, experience the magic early and share my honest thoughts with readers.

Okay, get ready because this review is about to take you on a mini, spoiler-free (to the best of my abilities!) version of the rollercoaster that is this incredible book. So, there I was on the edge of my seat from the very first chapter. SCREAMING! Damn, you really had me going there. I was feeling actual panic alongside Venus!

I was delighted to get a multiple POV here, and not just two perspectives - you'll have to read it yourself and find out the real number of POV's you get to experience, but I will tell you they are a treat! This is skill that is no easy feat and this author has mastered a distinct voice giving such depth to each character and for each POV, all flawlessly woven together to give the reader a beautiful multifaceted reading experience.

The dialogue, pacing, and characterization was on par with the excellence shown in the first book. Again, I am no huge fan of love triangles but I make special exceptions for ones that are genuinely reflective of how hard it is being a bad ass hottie with two delicious, amazing boys fighting over you. I was sincerely torn right up until the moment of reveal who her choice would be. I truly couldn't guess, despite my constant out loud arguments with my Kindle. Speaking of which, again if you are a TVD fan, this was honestly like watching the show over again. It was like experiencing the passion, love, friendship and indecision that is absolutely perfectly written in the show and is equally perfectly written in this book, but don't assume that means it ends up the same way! Like I said, I was SCREAMING at her choice! What I will say is between the rainstorm at the lake and that rooftop I was SWOONING. The romance is just *chef's kiss* 💋

Honestly now, how do you choose between your hot, cute, sweet, protective childhood sweetheart and the new, sexy, emotionally unavailable (except for you) bad boy with a secret heart of gold? Venus has a hell of a decision on her hands and some of my favorite moments are that she is not helpless, she is her own damn warrior. Strong and independent and she communicates and takes her damn time making a decision! We love to see it. Another aspect just flawlessly executed.

While the love triangle is a main focus, because how can it not be? There is also the escalating battle that amps up throughout the book. These elements build slowly, with detailed clues woven throughout that leave the reader on an infuriatingly addicting cliff hanger. Low-key gonna need that next book like NOW! 💜🖤

You will love this, it's a must read. It's just too amazing not to!

She's done it again y'all!
I didn't want to throw my Kindle, this time.

This is the second book in The Gray Knights series, so I highly encourage you to read Supernova first and then continuing with this masterpiece, especially since it's out now!

Again, this is the second book so you may see some spoilers if you continue to read on.

Final warning ⚠️

Let's get into it!
Vee was so wrong about her first love so she decides to go back and apologize and finally get their side of the story. Obviously she left things rocky with Griff, so now she has to figure her stuff out.
In this love triangle sequel you will face glorious tension, spells of giddiness, possibly a little anger, and so many eye rolls and smiles; just like Vee.
Since this is a love triangle that is NOT a 'why choose', the way the three of them handle things is just superb. In that situation you can only imagine the jealousy and frustration, but everyone speaks their minds and remains calm. If you don't like miscommunication, this is 100% the series for you.

Aside from the romance, there are two sides of a Supernatural world working together against a greater evil. The banter between the two sides will keep you hooked and laughing.
There are still plenty of steamy training sessions, don't worry.

Again, we are left with a pretty massive cliffhanger, but since some things were resolved from the cliffhanger of book one, it's not so bad, however you'll still be left amped for book three!

This is the second book in the gray knights series so before this comes out on May 10th do ensure you have read the first book as it’s a continuation from the first one!!OKAYYY this may have been one of the only supernatural books I’ve liked in a while.JA is INSANE her mind, the plot, the whole choosing who made me anxious because I hate having to choose between two characters however this was one of the few love triangles that THE AUTHOR NAILED with the final choice. The emotions I had throughout this book and series in general were INSANE I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever felt like this, the pacing of this book was perfect and I loved how we got scenes with all the different characters and as well as multiple povs from all three main characters.Alongside that there is also a battling occurring which builds even more through the course of the book(PLOT AND LOVE)what more could you want.HAPPY HAPPY RELEASE DAY im so proud of you 😭🤍🌟🥹💌

I actually finished this like last week but haven’t updated my Goodreads in a little while but here we are.

Can I give this like infinite stars? I absolutely would if I could. I am obsessed with this series and these characters omg. Loving this series is an understatement. I am obsessed and want these books buried with me I am that obsessed.

Griffin? Umm hello? You are the #1 book boyfriend forever and always.

“The answer was blatantly obvious. One was the sun and the other was the moon. One was night and one was day. But I had always been drawn to the night. Always been awake and alive in the dark. Always looked to the stars for answers.”

Book three needs to come asap because I don’t want to wait. I’m very impatient.

It’s not very often that you find a series this good but when you do it becomes your whole personality and the Gray Knights series? It’s my whole personality at this point.

Stargazer is book two of The Gray Knight Series. Book 1 is Supernova and I highly recommend reading that one before diving into this one! It is worth it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You want some spicy romance with wolves and action? This is the book for you. We got ourselves two love interests 😭 it is not a why choose 😭 but boy do we wish it was.
Our FMC Venus is the badass we all wish to be, with two completely different yet perfect men fighting over her.
Multiple POVs can get confusing but our author did a perfect job at distinguishing our men and so that we knew who was who. It had actual character building and personality, IYKYK

This is book 2 in the series and it didn’t disappoint! I love how we did get closure on Vee’s relationship tangle before the book concludes- but some new things happen that left me really excited for book 3! I’d call it a “soft” cliffhanger versus a “hard” cliffhanger (I hate hard cliffhangers!).

Full of action, adventure, and shifter magic! If you like reading first person POV in an urban fantasy setting with shifters and action then you’ll really like this book! Also, the romance really heated up in Stargazer which I had a lot of fun reading! 🤩🔥💗🤣

Definitely recommend for a fun, mildly spicy read! 💗

I love a well-done love triangle!

With wearwolfs, supernatural hunters, rouges, sexual tension, found family, and so much more, this book was hard to out down.

Second, in the series, we get so much action, love, lust, and banter!

I really enjoyed this and the way the characters grow and change throughout the book. The ending is just ahhh. I need the third book yesterday 😫

I love Vee and how she slowly gets better and is not instantly good at fighting. Seeing her deal with some crazy situations as well as her heart is such a good balance 💓

Woowww just wow!!
I had a blast reading this book! The way they flirt and banter with each other, gahhh she had me blushing and kicking my feet. Also the way that I LOVE both of the love interest and she doesn’t make me automatically hate either one is amazing. She did such a good job at handling a super hard love triangle. The twist and turns were ON point this time! And that revelation at the end!? You’re joking! I already can’t wait for book 3 to come out!

What a book! Its been a great joy reading this arc! The character development and the world building has been fantastic! Vee and Griffins relationship building and her relationship building with the knights and the wolves has been great to read! And that ending! What a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book 3! Well done JA Jude you’ve written two exceptionally great books and I cannot wait to see what your next book brings!

I'm obsessed!

I had the pleasure of reading the ARC for Stargazer. Highly recommend this book series. Can wait to see where Jude takes this story. I'm truly excited for it.

I need book 3 right now. Always leaving me on a cliffhanger.
Absolutely adore the characters. The friendships and bonds that have been created during this book are beautiful. There is so much banter, especially between a hunter and a beta. Love the relationship forming there.

The plot was well written, giving Cassandra Clare vibes. It has you needing the next book asap. I need to know more about that last sentence. It has me screaming.

I think the pace and love triangle made it very difficult for me to read. The overall plot is good!! It does seem like it was a bit too fast paced at certain points of the story.

Still enjoyable and I still recommend. Definitely a better book for those looking for a fast paced story with a love triangle.

Incredible, I could vividly picture everything in my mind reading this book, the detail, the writing, the continuous world building everything was incredible. DNF after 150 pages.

I wanted to like this book, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

I disliked how easily everyone forgave the FMC after she abandoned everyone. Also, I didn’t enjoy the love triangle element and felt like there wasn’t much chemistry between the FMC and the two MMCs.
