I loved this series from book 1 when Alex broke my heart..... A lot has happened since then and this book is full of twists and turns and leaves you with a HFN as in their world a HEA is asking a lot.
Giselle has grown so much through the books and has gone through so much! I thought it was fab how she utilised her powers on them that wanted something of her or her son. I believe she was able to control her powers better due to her maternal feelings. I really liked how she wanted to see them suffer and they all got their comeuppance - go Giselle. <3 She also gains some lightness, she gets fed of drama and makes light of it.
Antoine has always been the only one who wanted Giselle for being herself. He is truly swoon worthy and doesn't disappoint you in this book, in fact you will swoon even more.
Onto Alex....... nasty, dark Alex who upset me so much in book 1, does he redeem himself??? Well Im not saying but believe it or not some other people are even more evil than Alex, enough said....
This is a series for YA upwards, I was hooked from book 1 and if there is more books I will be the first to add them to my TBR.
I was left broken and Confused when all the characters I thought were trustworthy and loyal turned out to be massive cads! I Loved the way Julieanne finished thus series and although I am heartbroken there won't be another book for me to devour she did her characters the justice they deserved. I would highly recommend this series to anyone.
Fighting Shadows is the third installment in the Shadow World series by Julieanne Lynch.
Giselle has now entered Hell in order to find Kaden and take him from his father Alex. She encounters the inhabitants of Hell who are all willing to help Giselle on her quest but they all want something in return. What price will Giselle have to pay for their help and what impact will a person from her past have on her when he turns up after Giselle thought he was dead?
As with the other two books in the series Fighting Shadows is full of twists, turns, suspense and drama that'll leave you wanting more. This book has left me with questions like: when is the next book out? What's the story with the amulet? What will Kadens fate be? I've a lot more questions but I can't ask them in fear of ruining the book for you.
By now you know already how Julieanne Lynch can draw you into a story with her unique and original storyline, she will keep you captivated until you've finished the book but then you'll want to read another book in the series. So the next installment better be out soon! 5 star read.
First off....I so hope there is more to this series!! I love the characters and the relationships formed. When you hear the phrases "I would go to Hell and back for you" and "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" you know the frame of mind a person is in....Giselle is WAYYYYY beyond this. Alex has taken the baby! Now her only option is to go into the recesses of Hell, to try and sneak up on him. Wonderland has nothing on the Underworld. Things are not always how they seem. What seems like a paradise can turn into instant death and what seems like the worst evil can become a ally. With three little angelic internal hitchhikers and the man she loves, Giselle is on her way to end it all and save her son. Are their combined powers enough or will all their enemies have darker magic to help?
I had forgotten how much I loved Antoine until the story got into a good roll and I was reminded why I loved him and his carefree attitude, "we had single-handedly wiped out two threats, and now we were embarking on God-knows-what. Yet he still had time for a joke or two. This was the very reason I adored him. Nothing was ever too drastic or too dramatic for him..." I had forgotten who was who in this series but as soon as the story got rolling my memory came back, and honestly I wasn't too sad to see what happened to a few of them in some scenes, I probably lynn even evil laughed haha. I enjoyed this book I had missed these characters.
This book was brilliant from start to finish. I don't want to give anything away but this book is full of action and twists. Once you start reading it the story pulls you in, and you can really connect with the characters. I'd recommend to everyone it's a must read. Once you start you won't want to put it down.
Fantastic book in this series by the author. Not going to give any details but this has wonderful characters, amazing story line and plot. Once you start it will be hard to put down until you get to the end.
I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 3 of the series Shadow World and it is best to read books 1&2 so you know what is going on.
I absolutely loved the whole series, but I must say this is my favorite! I love the ending, and Giselle's powers are AMAZING! I don't want to spoil any of it, so I will just say you really need to read this series! Well written and plenty of twist. Way to go Julieanne!
Its been quite a while since I read the second instalment in this series, so I was a little vague on some of the details, however there's enough of a recap that I didn't feel entirely lost.
Giselle almost feels like two completely different people in this instalment, in some ways she is still that naive young girl we met in the first book, and she's still very whiny. But there comes a point in the book where this other side of her seems to take over, and it happens so very quickly it feels like another character rather than Giselle simply 'growing up', but she is every inch the powerful woman and she makes sure her enemies know it.
This book is set in the underworld, and Lynch takes advantage of the fact there's no hard and fast rules about moving from one scene to another, or limits on how often obstacles pop up. Which gives us the reader an almost non stop rollercoaster of enemies and conflict. Unfortunately for me, as a result, I felt the final conflict was a bit of an anti climax. I would elaborate more but spoilers...
Giselle is in hell fighting to save her son and get him back. While she's in there she has the help from a vampire and three little heavenly body invaders. Antoine is her saving grace and is right by her side in all the obstacles they get into. Giselle and Antoine seek comfort in each other while the are in there. They fight to hell and back with all their enemies trying stop them at every turn.
Will they find Giselle baby or will their enemies win and conquer?
As the saga continues the twists and turns are everywhere! This is one you are not going to want to put down. Watching the character development through the series has been nothing short of brilliant!! A must read series. Can't wait for the next one.
