HOPE What was supposed to be a romantic birthday getaway turned into a weekend Hope Mackenzie would never forget. Because when two outrageously hot men rescued her from a pervy guy at a hotel bar, the last thing Hope expected to happen was to end up in her hotel room... with both of them. When she snuck out of the hotel room, leaving what could be the best thing to ever happen to her, she had to remind herself that it was just a crazy fling. One wild, incredible weekend. And the best birthday ever.
GRANT Grant Price has spent the last ten years keeping everything and everyone at arm's length. When he and his best friend and business partner have one of the hottest weekends of his life with a blonde bombshell named Hope, he feels truly alive for the first time in a decade. A flash fire, burning hotter than he'd ever experienced, brings something in him back to life. And when they wake to find that their little butterfly has slipped away in the dead of night, it crushed that part of him that had finally decided to start living again. So, after dreaming about her for months, why does the sight of his little butterfly sitting at a table in his restaurant make him so damn angry?
VAN Sharing isn't anything new for Van Laurance and his best friend, Grant. But sharing Hope for a weekend opened up a Pandora's box inside him that refused to be closed again. So, when Grant tells him that their little butterfly has unknowingly fluttered into their restaurant after disappearing for months... oh, it's game on. And this is a game he has no intention of losing. They told her that fateful night in a Chicago hotel that if she made her wish, there was no going back. She was theirs... and now that they'd found her again, it was time to remind her of that fact.
Danielle Baker was born and raised in the beautiful city of Petoskey, nestled on the crystalline shores of Lake Michigan. She is blissfully married to the love of her life, Nicholas. Danielle’s love of writing began while she was in high school. At the urging of her family, Danielle was given the boost she needed to ‘Get back in the saddle’ and keep reaching for her lifelong dream of becoming a published author. When Danielle isn’t working, writing, or spending time with her family, she can be found with a cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other.
Can a birthday wish turn into forever? The chemistry between Hope, Van and Grant was 🔥 🔥 loved it so much, just wished for some sword crossing! Absolutely love the plus size rep in this book as well!
I fully expected this novella to be all smut with no plot and I couldn’t have been more wrong. Was it spicy? YES. But the emotion…. Ugh. So good.
Hope finds herself alone at a hotel bar soon after her ex breaks off their engagement. She gets hit on by a married man who can’t take a hint (why are men so dumb?). Grant witnesses the entire exchange and comes to her rescue by pretending to be her boyfriend. His business partner Van also swoops in to save the day.
After a fun weekend, Hope ends up leaving the boys at the hotel and sneaks out. Only information they exchanged was first names. Fast forward six weeks and she ends up at their restaurant with her sister and friends.
Woah boy was Grant pissed at her for leaving.
And I mean pissed….. and oof. It was the hottest thing I’ve read in a long time 😂.
5⭐️ 3.5🌶️
I do wish this was longer but only because I’m selfish. But I say that about most novellas! This was my first read from Danielle (um thanks to @what_jess_reads_ for the rec). I ordered one of her full length novels (wait until you see the discreet cover!) and I’m excited to dive into that one soon!
Wow. The chemistry between the characters is off the chart. Hot hot and even hotter. One birthday wish turns into happy ever after. But is it really that easy? Grant and Van meet one special girl. But it is just a weekend until they run into each other in their small town. Can the three of them forgive and move on? Interesting storyline amazing chemistry between all three characters. A few moments where I wanted to scream and cry. But so worth it. Danielle wrote one hot loveable book.
Another cute small town love story about Hope, who goes to Chicago for her birthday after a shitty breakup. Sitting at the bar she meets two guys - grant and van - co-owners of a small restaurant back in her hometown. But they don’t know anything about each other. They share a magical connection and one night in her hotel suite only for her to freak out and sneak away while they were sleeping. They never exchanged information, not even last names. 6 weeks later Hope has moved him and in with her sister still reeling from one night in Chicago. She finally agrees to go out with her sister to a local restaurant and then lays eyes on grant. But grant is pissed. He’s mad that she left him. Van chases after her and can’t believe she is real. She goes home with van, who lives with grant but they aren’t together. She and van agree not to do anything until they talk to grant. So the next day she goes to talk to grant but grant is pissed and also thinks she already hopped in bed with van so grant decides a grudge fuck is the way to go and he turns into a big fat jerk. She decides it’s best to stay away but Van can’t handle that and he begs her to come back. And then grant realizes the mistake he made so he goes to her sisters house and begs for forgiveness. For a few weeks they barely leave each other and then they finally move her in. 3 years later they’re in a 3 way marriage, have one kid that van is the father of and she finally is pregnant with grants baby next. HEA.

Have you have ever dreamt of meeting a mysterious man and spending a night with him doing ungodly things, thinking no strings attached. No last names, no jobs, no hometowns just fun. Let me tell you, you don't get one man you get two. One night turned into a weekend, that turned into a wish that you would have stayed instead of sneaking out of the hotel room while they both slept peacefully in bed. Hope regretted ever leaving with out as much as a goodbye. She only knew their first names Grant & Van. How the hell was she supposed to find them they could be anywhere in the world. There is no way she would in world fill with 8 billion people. She moved back home to live with her sister while she took time to reasses her life. Her sister and friends always went out for friday night drinks and Hope tagged along. When she hears Grant's voice it sends shivers through her whole body. He is angry and filled with hate, and she can't blame him. Will Grant be able to forgive her or will he just continuing hate her and want to make her hurt as bad as he did. Van on the other hand is filled with joy that he finally found her again and he will not be letter her go. He didn't care what it took or how it would work but there was no chance his "Little One" was getting away again.
I love these novellas, because they pack such a punch with plot and spice!
Tropes: 💋 Why choose 💋 MFM 💋 One night 💋 Second chance
It all started in a bar in Chicago... Hope is there celebrating her birthday! A guy sits by her and tries to pick her up, but he gives the ick vibes bc he's married and not wearing his ring. Hope tries to get him to leave, when she spots a hottie across the bar and they make sure contact.
Said hottie Grant and other hottie Van come to her rescue and the creep leaves. She makes a birthday wish with these 2 guys to not choose. They have a weekend together, until the guys wake up and Hope it's gone. They made promises of just the weekend, no last names and no locations.
Hope shows up back in her hometown in Michigan (my home state, yay!!) And moves in with her sister. She's still upset over the guys 6 weeks later and can't stop thinking about them. Her sister drags her out to this amazing restaurant and Hopes life is forever changed.
I met Danielle at a book event recently and she's the sweetest, we talked about her books and I was instantly sold in this one. I'm so glad I bought it because it didn't disappoint! I have it 4.5 simply because I wanted more 🤣
MFM. Pretty much all spice, no plot. This story follows Hope, Grant, and Van. Hope was engaged and that relationship has ended. She’s taking a previously planned birthday trip to Chicago when she meets the MMCs. There is an instant spark and attraction and they have an amazing night together, where they don’t exchange any significant personal information. She leaves the next morning without saying goodbye.
A couple months pass and she has moved to a different city to live with her sister. They go out one night and it turns out the restaurant they’re at belongs to the MMCs. When they see the FMC it’s a shock. Van is happy. Grant, not so much. He’s holding on to a lot of hurt over her leaving that morning without saying goodbye.
Ultimately he works through that with her and the epilogue finds them three years later living their HEA.
This was such a spicy read. It was quick but still got a chance to get to know the characters. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the overuse of their nicknames for the FMC but this is a definite recommend if you’re looking for a quick and spicy book.

Birthday Wishes is a sizzling, heart-racing romance that delivers on steamy connections and the thrill of second chances. This unconventional love story starts with a bang—a wild weekend of passion between Hope Mackenzie and two irresistible men, Grant and Van, that leaves everyone yearning for more. Hope’s spontaneous birthday getaway turns into an unforgettable adventure when her knight(s) in shining armor rescue her from an uncomfortable situation. What follows is a weekend of passion she never expected but can’t bring herself to regret. However, her escape in the dead of night leaves the two men reeling. Months later, fate intervenes, and the heat and tension between the trio ignite once again. Danielle Baker masterfully intertwines longing, vulnerability, and sizzling chemistry. Grant and Van's personalities are distinct yet perfectly complementary, making their dynamic with Hope both emotionally charged and undeniably spicy. While the story leans heavily into its steamy moments, it also explores themes of trust, connection, and finding joy after loss. If you’re a fan of romance that pushes boundaries, Birthday Wishes will keep you hooked from start to finish. This book is perfect for readers who enjoy passionate, character-driven stories with a touch of angst and a lot of spice. 🔥 Warning: You might need a fan nearby—this one’s HOT.
This book is the perfect blend of a little bit of everything! Yes, there are the sweet moments, but you’re getting a ‘Why Choose’ that’s full of heat and passion. Hope, Grant, and Van have a connection that keeps you rooting for them and a happily ever after. Hope is vulnerable in a way that is relatable. Van is softer and sweeter and makes you want to cuddle on the couch and sleep in his arms all day. Grant is the strong, in control, and silent type that is a teddy bear underneath. (Grant stole the biggest piece of my heart)These three together had a lot to unpack in a short amount of time and once again, Danielle beautifully told their story and made us fall in love with more characters in this world she’s created.
From the very beginning I was hooked, when the meet cute was a food show I instantly knew I would like the book regardless of the plot but as the story builds I feel in love with it. I have to say Van is my favorite if I had to choose. The way he cares for Hope and reassures everyone about the relationship when Grant and Hope were questioning the feasibility of a long term relationship definitely made a positive impact on his likeablitiy. Grants honest confessions about his past and his struggles about possibly fathering a child definitely help with his character development and explaining some of his broodiness. Overall the book was great and can't wait to read more in the series.

I firmly believe that choices should never have to be made 🤷♀️. After quickly meeting Grant and Van in Danielle Baker’s Valentine's Day novella, Be Mine Valentine, I was so excited to read their story. I didn't know that I would have my book boyfriend world flipped upside down by Sullivan "Van" Laurence 🫠. I have more complicated emotions when it comes to Grant (🫠🥵🥹🥺🤬😬🥹😍) , but Van.. is like a balm to the soul. The two of them together, though... they make me sigh, roll my eyes, get angry, and laugh so much. Of course, it would take a woman as strong as Hope to be their match. I love her ability to stand up for herself and speak her truth. I really enjoyed this quick read and wonder why I've never had a birthday turn out this way.
Danielle did it again! This MFM, why choose romance, is absolutely amazing! You will love them all from the very beginning. Van, Grant, and Hope all meet one weekend in Chicago, which happens to be Hopes Birthday weekend! Their chemistry is undeniable and something most people would love to have with their significant other! They all meet again in Van and Grants restaurant in their hometown. What will happen? I will definitely recommend this book to all of my friends! I loved this book so much!

I SERIOUSLY DEVOURED THIS BOOK! I READ IT IN ONE SITTING!
Since knowing Grant and Van were getting this why choose love story, i have been epic excited to dive in and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Seriously, the spice up in here oooo girl it’s hot and heavvyy! Their ending was so joyful and heartwarming it had me in tears. I’m so happy these men got their happy HOPEful ending.
If you read Be Mine, Valentine you will have gotten a small taste of these fine gentlemen. I love easter eggs! I seriously cannot get over this book and cannot wait for more to come from Danielle Baker.
✨Please check for trigger warnings before reading.✨
💜 I was hooked in the first chapter! While it is a novella this book had the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. But when it spiced, it spiced. Hope got to have her cake and eat it too 😉 I am so happy they got the ending they deserved! I highly recommend! ☺️💜
✨Tropes✨ 🤍One night stand 🤍Happily ever after 🤍Small town 🤍Why choose 🤍MFM 🤍Protective MMCs 🤍Grump x sunshine x golden retriever
Wow! I was hooked within the first 3 pages. Pay attention to the trigger warnings. There are definitely some kinks that may make your head spin. I loved that Hope physically represents a “real” woman. Both Van and Grant are swoon worthy in their own way. I think every woman secretly wants their own version of Van and Grant. I have read all of Danielle Baker’s books so far, and just like the others, this book did not disappoint. Highly recommend!
Loved this book! It was a new trope for me, MFM, why choose - I have never read anything along those lines, and it was also different for this author. Beautifully written love story with tons of smut in between. This is part of a series, I started out with Be Mine, Valentine, and I can't wait for the next book to come out!
This is book two in Danielle Baker's Holiday Romance collection. It's a MFM, Why Choose romance. It was so sweet and spicy! She does a wonderful job writing the emotions her characters are going through, you can practically feel them yourself. Loved how cute the story ended up being and how spicy it was!
I absolutely could not get enough of this book. I love a why choose romance, and the love between Hope, Grant, and Van was just perfect. Im glad that I had a chance to read this early, and I can’t wait for more. I love the writing style of Danielle Baker, she’s just fabulous.
Ugh, hooked within the first chapter! This book was 🥵🥵🥵. The chemistry between the characters, the storyline, the spice. Loving the vision of plus size and polyamory. As a plus size woman myself, my confidence grew a bit too. Hot hot hot!
I absolutely loved this book. It's such an amazing and sweet book. The story is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to devour all of Danielle's other amazing books. Grant, Hope and Van absolutely have my heart ❤️❤️ I definitely recommend everyone read this book.
Wow! The chemistry between Hope, Grant, and Van is incredible and noticeable at the beginning. Hope definitely got her birthday wish and more! This novella in the Holiday Romance Collection is definitely more spicy than the first one!
This is a spicy little novella of where plus sizes FMC meets Grant and Van, two best friends after a break up. What she thinks is just a steamy weekend together leads to her true loves.
they were perfectly done for a MMF. I loved that they each loved her differently and equally and they never had to make a choice between one another. the epilogue 🥹
Loved this novella! It was a fast read. Loved Hope, Van, & Grant. Definitely an interesting dynamic between the three of them. Love that the stories are local to me and can’t wait for the next one!
Not my favorite book from her so far. Honestly if she stopped using “butterfly” “baby” “little one” ect.. every other sentence it would have been so much better. The epilogue was adorable. However.
