Midnights by Katrina Cappelli was such a sweet, short read. I found the time-travel component quite interesting, and loved the Captain America vibes.
The book follows Ace, as she helps her father, Eli, experiment with time travel. As always is the case when one messes with time, something goes awry and the golden-retriever of a MMC, Steve, is transported to the present time from 1945. But there’s something different about him…
As this story was quite short in length, its pacing was fast, but it still made sense. I really enjoyed being able to read Midnights all in one sitting, and it was a great break from the longer fantasy novels I’ve been reading recently.
Special shout out to Joy, as well as the literal goats of the story, Gerald and Harold. I loved the epilogue, and how it kept it open for book 2.
If you wanted a sweet little time-travel read to cleanse your book palette, you should try Midnights.
Thank you to the author for an advanced readers copy. This review is my own honest opinion.
