An Edinburgh townhouse possesses a terror so dark, multiple men have met their ends within its walls. More will die—unless brothers Sully and Dez can stop it.

When Paul Dunsmore reclaims his historic family home in the heart of Scotland’s capital city, he discovers he’s acquired more than classic architecture and wealthy neighbours. An attic room hosts an evil entity, one that has become infamous for claiming lives.

After a construction worker dies inside the haunted room, Paul does the only thing he he summons Sully and Dez to investigate and get rid of the murderous spirit.

Far easier said than done. The ghost is among the strongest Sully has ever encountered—and its deadly focus is centred on Dez.

With the attacks mounting, the only way for Sully to save Dez is to defeat the entity.

Or die trying.

The Braddock & Gray Case Files take mystery and give it a ghostly twist. The series is a follow-up to the highly rated, seven-book Sullivan Gray Series.

Raised on a farm on the Canadian Prairies, words quickly became my means of exploring the world around me and giving life to the one created in my imagination. Fascinated by ghost stories and crime fiction, I have been writing both for well over two decades, drawing on more than fifteen years in a career in a criminal justice setting. When not putting Scrivener through its paces, I enjoy reading, portrait drawing, travel and spending time with family and friends.

Nasty Spirit

Again, a read hard to put down. Frightening to read how close Dex and Sully came to their demise. And the evil spirit's making by a cruel and selfish man, whose kin turned out to be the complete opposite of the men from whom he was forged.

Haunted manor in Edinburgh? Please, yes! *laughs* And we also have Paul, and oh, I love Paul so much! So yes, I was very excited to read this story, and I was enjoying it immensely... until I got really scared for Sully and Dez, that is. *shudders*

But even at the worst of times, Sully and Dez's bond shines brightly. In Dez's words:
For you, the only thing worse than not trying to help is having something bad happen to people because you didn’t. For me, the only thing worse than facing this crap is having something bad happen to you because I didn’t.

The story is fascinating, related to Paul's ancestors who were as bad as his current relatives are, no big surprise. The poor guy wasn't blessed with his family, that's for sure. But they can't pin down what this ghost wants. And it's a very angry one, and truly strong. There are moments in which I thought not everybody would come out unscathed.

But even through all this darkness, there are moments of love and light. At some point Dez simply can't sleep, he's too troubled by all that they are going through. And Sully... talks to him.
Somewhere between the memories and the unexpected laughter, Dez’s heart rate slowed and the pressure in his head eased.

I LOVE this part. Love it! Sully is giving back peace to his brother in the same way it was given to him when he was a child ♥

The whole story is great, managing to be scary and hopeful simultaneously. What can I say that I haven't said before for this series? Fully recommended.

OUTSTANDING LEVEL OF HORROR!! BEST YET!

This book felt like a NEW level of HORROR for the Author.. the stuff of NIGHTMARES! The subject matter literally could "scare you to death " as it did to characters in the book! I remember being little and being CERTAIN there was a monster- something truly evil, that would eat my soul LOL! this book tapped into that fear!. It was AWESOME! HAHA! (and there really are monsters under the beds in this book!) . I loved the setting! The history there is so rich and deep! The anecdotal stories about the local establishments conjure images that add depth to the story!! I would love to have a beer at a 400 yr old Pub!
This was the first book I really thought a key character was going to die. Earlier in the series, Dez and Sully's Dad died violently, and that was devastating...this was as frightening as that but WORSE! SOULS ARE AT STAKE!! The evil entity has its origin in a centuries old tragic story..It has had way over 100 yrs of time for it's anger and Rage to FESTER! The author really reached a NEW LEVEL of HORROR! there is another installment coming in the fall, I CANT IMAGINE WHAT WILL TRANSPIRE NEXT! CAN'T WAIT!!!
HUGS HEATHER! these stories really give me such enjoyment I can't even thank you enough!

Another great one!

I am such a huge fan of this series, and this newest installment definitely did not disappoint! I enjoyed the setting in Edinburgh and seeing a familiar character there (Paul Dunsmore). The author is SO great at painting a picture with words, and I always feel like I'm right there with the characters. The plot was engaging, the characters were well fleshed out, and the ending was satisfying... I'm always looking forward to the next one! I hope there are more upcoming books available in Audible as well!

An Edinburgh haunting

Sully and Dez are at it again. This time the story taking place in Edinburgh Scotland. I loved the location and the story. Though most of it was unfortunately predictable (sins tend to repeat themselves in history) there were a free surprises to keep it interesting. H.P Bayne also did a great job of describing one of my favorite cities. Now I'm itching to go back. My only wish is that Sully and Dez had gotten to spend some time in the closes, not that Dez would have enjoyed it!

I found this one as good as the other 15 of course, still a cracking read that I love. There is currently only 18 and I'm on book 16.
In this one, Sully heads to Scotland, Paul has a family property and he's brought it back, he has a ghost problem of course and it's a wild ghost driven mad by a previous Dunmore back in the 1880's. The tale almost sees Dez die, before Sully gets a grip and deals with it and ends the threat finally.
It ends well however and it's a cracking read. The cases seem to be getting harder but he still manages to win, if only just.

H. P. Bayne does it again! This time Sully and Dez end up in Edinburgh, Scotland to right a wrong and deal with a particularly nasty entity. What I find the most amazing is that Sully and Dez have a knack for uncovering more information than the police ever could despite their access to all types of records. I love the stories so much and I am always excited when a new one arrives! Phenomenal storytelling!

I love the Braddock and Gray series and I am never disappointed. The creepy settings transport me right in the middle of the plot with the characters. I like the way Sully and Dez go all out to find out who the spirit is and why they are haunting the building, so they can help them cross over. I would definitely recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I give this book an 11 out of 10, as opposed to the 10/10 I’ve given to books 1-15. This one had me in tears, and had my heart beating fast with tension. It’s easier to make people scared with good movie effects, but this author has an excellent way of helping you envision what scares you. And she didn’t need blood and gore to do it either. I highly recommend this book, this series, and the Sullivan Gray series too.

Brilliant as usual.

Wow, another gripping paranormal story. Sully and Dez have their work cut out with this one. It seems like the spirits are getting tougher to sort out and Sully is getting stronger. I absolutely love these books and can't wait for the next book. Well worth five stars, I'd give ten if I could.

Loved this so much and really missed the boys. Actually shuddered and got goosebumps reading this in bed. The characters are so real and it feels like coming home from the first page and no one is left behind even if not directly in the story being told. Thank you for another brilliant read

This is Book sixteen Of The Braddock & Gray Case Files Book Series.

This was another great read I think that it's great that some of their cases happen abroad . They get to travel to different places maybe they'll go to New Orleans it would be interesting if they had a case involving that type of magic.

Loved it took place in a different setting yet still remained true to form with more new characters who immediately feel alive. I was so happy that it featured an old friend who we’ve met in previous books. Again felt like I was right there amongst the characters, another spooky tense read. Highly recommend!

A must read series

You may want to read this one with the lights on because the creep factor stays throughout. But I can’t imagine any Dez and Sully fan not loving it and giving anything other than a 5 star rating. Well done once again.
