Four-time RITA finalist, Scarlett Cole, is a contemporary romantic suspense / contemporary romance author (represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency) who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

DNF. First sentence- “As I lie back on my bed, with Penny riding my face and Naomi sucking my cock, I realize this is my idea of heaven.” Halo goes into more detail about eating the club whore out, etc. 🤢

I need to stop trying with this series.😖

5 stars!

Book #7 in the Iron Outlaws MC series, and these books continue to suck me in and rock my world. Halo and Arianne’s story is a gorgeously functional age-gap romance that is sexy and intense, with a single parent twist, and I loved their story so much!

Halo is Road Captain for the Iron Outlaws. He is an ex-marine, and he’s a smart, sensible, straight-talking guy - what you see is what you get, he holds nothing back, and he’s completely unapologetic about who he is and what he wants, and I love that. His Dad, Wrinkle, is an old-timer in the club, and when he and his live-in girl, Mercy, are brutally killed, Halo steps up to not only care for his now-orphaned baby sister (literally a baby), but he also takes in Mercy’s sister, who shows up for the funeral with nowhere else to go.

Arianne has been living a nightmare with an abusive husband. Her family is of no help, so when she learns that her estranged sister has died, she seizes her chance to get away, pay her respects, and start a new life for herself. With few options available to her, Halo offers her a place to stay and a job looking after little Lola (Arianne’s niece), and the two begin cohabiting in a cozy arrangement.

From the very beginning, the big, gruff biker shows his soft side by opening his home to the two new girls in his life, and proving that underneath all of the leather and tattoos, he is fiercely protective and has a heart of gold.

Halo touches his fingertips to my cheek. “You pursued the right dream with the wrong man. Give yourself time to sort yourself out. Figure out what you want to do. Who you want to be. The life you want to build. When you know all that about yourself, you’ll be able to identify the guy who makes all that better for you. He’ll add to it. Not take away from it or diminish it.”

There’s a strong attraction between them, and though Halo is determined to keep his distance, Ari knows what she wants, and neither of them can resist their sizzling chemistry.

“Ari, you’ve been through enough.”
“Stop treating me like I’m broken, Jax.” The words come out on an angry whisper. “I’m not breakable. Not anymore. You’re not protecting me. You’re actively disregarding how I feel. I’m not looking for a husband. I’m just looking for someone who will take the ache and fear I feel away for a little while.”

Suddenly there is nothing more important than navigating Ari through her needs. I want to be the man who does that for her more than my next breath.

The thing that stands out the most to me about these two is that they are open about everything. They talk about the feelings, about what they want and need, and they hold nothing back from each other. They’re both straight-shooters who let it all out, and it’s so freaking amazing! There’s no game playing and no unnecessary angst, sure, they have some pretty big issues that they need to deal with, but they talk it all through, having each other’s backs without question and it’s a joy to watch them together.

This is where you are meant to be.

The other thing about them is the hotness, because holy hot damn, this is a steamy read. Halo is a Dom. He likes control and he needs submission, and while Ari is new to that kind of dynamic, she’s all for it, and these two are a match made in sexy heaven. Their chemistry is wild, and there’s a bit of kink, but again, they’re open about it and figure out what they like together. One thing I will mention is that there is a bit of Daddy kink in this one. It’s not something I’m a fan of, and I usually find it a bit cringe, but Cole does a good job of explaining the dynamics of it, and how it works for Halo and Arianne.

Jax strokes my cheek with his knuckle. “You’re the most precious thing I have, Ari. Whatever words express that, I give them to you willingly. Just promise me you’ll spend the rest of your life with me.”

While these two are falling for each other, Halo and the club are tracking down his Dad’s killer, who is making more direct threats and closing in on them. And for the first time, Halo truly has something to lose. There is violence and danger, which brings a great intensity to the story, and the action is great. The rest of the MC boys have their brother’s back, and openly welcome Arianne into the fold, and I loved seeing them and their girls again. There’s a fantastic lead-in to the next book of the series, and I am so freaking exited for Switch’s story up next!

I love Halo and Ari, and I love their story so much. Their dynamic is really well developed, and little Lola adds a gorgeous sense of family to their relationship. These two are so special together, and I loved this one.

5 stars!

I liked this one but it just had things in it that weren't for me. Daddy kink? No, thanks.

Did love the cute moments as a family with Lola.

The cheating was she was still married. To an awful abuser who definitely got what was coming to him.

I felt the ending was rushed and it bugged me that we didn't really get a good answer as to why Jax's half brother hated his dad so much, beyond him whoring around, etc. I don't know. It just seemed off for me. It also bugged me that we're told that the other Jax, from the Righteous Brotherhood was killed in the crossfire. We don't see that and it was a shock to read. I had to go back and make sure I didn't miss anything. I do hope we see River in a future book.

Now, Switch's story? Love me a good amnesia story so I look forward to that one.

I just didn't love this one ad much as I thought I would. I would probably say 2.5 stars but just didn't love it enough to give it three.

I have to up front the lower grade on The Souls We Save isn’t that the writing is any less excellent than the previous books, the action any less packed, Halo our hero and a former Navy SEAL, any less heroic or romantic in a member of MC club member. Ali, our heroine isn’t any less amazing than previous. No, it’s none of that. It’s completely my own preferences or rather non preferences. Halo is a Dom and that isn’t a kink I’m interested in at all. No judgment on any reader who enjoys this particular sexual desire, but it’s not anything that floats my boat and I skipped most of the spicier parts. And these books are all very spicy and it hasn’t bothered me at all. In addition, Halo has a daddy kink, again something I don’t get.

The premise of the book is very early in, Halo or Jackson’s dad, and his dad’s much, much younger girlfriend are murdered by a gang of white supremacists that have featured in the previous books. The left behind a baby, Halo’s half sister. Halo loves her but doesn’t feel equipped to deal with her. But attending her funeral is her younger sister Adrianne, who hadn’t been in contact with her sister for years and didn’t know she was an aunt. Although very young, 22, she is married to a very abusive man and wants out.

Halo is livid on her behalf and suggests she live with him and baby Lola, to care for Lola and be safe from her soon to be ex. She agrees and this being a romance, you can guess what happens. The main conflict is the growing tension and violence between the two groups.

Even though I skipped parts of this book and gave it a lower grade than the others in this series, I’m still very glad I read it. It continues the story arc that’s been the core of these books and I did like both Halo and Ari quite a bit. And I haven’t mentioned it before but I love the comraderie between the club members. They truly are brothers though not by blood. It really is special how they support and have each others backs in dangerous situations.

As with the books before this, while the main hero and heroines are finished, it does end on a cliff hanger. One off the brothers, Swich, is very badly injured and in an induced coma. So now I to get going to find out what happens next.

This was an amazing read, that I couldn't put down(how it usually happens with Ms Cole's books). The moment I got it, I locked myself in and started reading.

This story is about Halo and Ari. He becomes his little sister's father, after their dad is murdered. And it doesn't go at all as he expects it to. He thinks he'll just find someone(preferably a relative) to take his baby sister and he'll continue with life as he knew it. Enter Ari, who is so much more then either of them expects.

I loved reading how they start trusting each other and fall in love. He kind of becames her knight in shining armour, and she becomes his port in the storm. It's just all around beautiful, and also kinky and hot(it's a Scarlett Cole book, come on!)

There's lots of action, we see past characters and even better, we see them all grow. I can't wait to see what happens next!

My Review: This was a decent story, just not my favorite in the series. There was nothing wrong with it, it just didn’t really grab me as much as I'd like. It was a sweet story and I liked Halo and Arianne together; he was protective and caring for his girls and she was sweet and just wanted to be loved. I guess I just felt it lacked a little depth and I was not as connected to the MCs as I was in previous books in the series.

Absolutely Fantastic!!!

This is an MC romance that checked every box in my book with the intensity of the relationship, the steam, the edge of your seat storyline and wonderful characters. Ms. Cole has never let me down yet and I try not to miss any of her books because they have all been five star reads for me.

This is Halo and Ari’s story and if I could rate this book more than five stars I would. The emotions are written that I felt everything they did, the steam had me fanning myself and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat.

I don’t want to give anything away but just know you won’t go wrong reading this book and I think you’ll become a big fan of this author as I am.

This series and especially this book is absolutely perfect, everything I want in an MC Romance. Cole gives us the biker life with men who are rugged and deadly… but for the women they love… they’d do anything to protect what’s theirs. Halo was everything I hoped for and so much more. Where can I find one? Mama need.

The characters are flawed but absolutely addicting. The story left me questioning what I should read next because nothing compares.

If you haven’t read this series yet, this is a MUST READ.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: single dad
Angst: 😱😱😱1/2
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Loved it! Scarlett Cole has yet to let me down ❤️ The Souls We Claimed sucked me and I could not put it down. I felt like Arianne was a little different from her usual heroines, but I still really enjoyed her. She was definitely more of a submissive type heroine, but that’s what made her perfect for Halo. I loved Halo and his desire to provide and care for her ❤️. As is always the case the Scarlett’s book, this was an extremely entertaining and enjoyable read that had tons of action and some of the best character and relationship development around. If you haven’t started this series, you’re really missing out!

Ummm ok where do I start.

This is the story about biker Halo (jax/jackson) and timid shy runaway Arianne (Ari/kitten).

I'm not going to lie. I almost didn't start this when the content warnings page had "daddy kink" and "p***y slapping."
The reason is that I found this story on one of those tiktok exert videos. And it was about Ari being beaten by her husband and meeting Halo at her sisters funeral and him telling her she should leave the person who did it.
The idea of those kinks being in a domestic violence survivor story wasn't my idea of a good read. But I persevered.

So Halo, the ex Navy Seal, just found his father and his father's newest baby momma murdered. So he has to take over looking after little 1 year old Lola (his sister).
The ex navy seal is now at war with a half brother because apparently his father was a man whore just like him, except the dad had babies everywhere.
Enter Ari who is Lolas aunt.
Halo (did I mention he was a ex navy seal) is in 2 minds with her as he hated her sister who was a club bunny and constantly hit on him aswell as sleeping with his dad (get the picture). So he didn't trust Ari but the moment he saw her regardless of her face being swollen and black and blue he noticed her tits and arse.... yep.
Ex Navy Seal Halo then comes up with the plan that he will pay her to look after Lola in exchange for protection, but we aren't all stupid they are both infatuated with each other already.

The reason for me mentioning "ex navy seal" so often is because the author decided we needed to know this every other damn sentence throughout the book. It was absolutely ridiculous. It reminded me of a school essay where you have a word count to meet, so keep repeating crap. It was barely relevant to the story.

The smut was boring and cringe. I ended up skipping most of it. (We got her even dressing up in a stars and stripes bathing suit with pigtails 🤮) and inhave never read a story where "chub" is used so much.
I'm sorry Ari says on page 22,
"There's something liberating in knowing I won't have to follow anyone else's rules ever again."
10 pages later, she is following orders from Halo.. talk about weak.
She becomes a complete submissive where he even says I don't want you to work I just want you at home looking about Lola, cooking, and cleaning.. and boom, she is ok with this. So much for being independent.
I wanted her to turn the tables. We got glimpses of her getting a backbone, and at the beginning, Halo even helped her with this but then would turn around and dominate her again. It was so annoying.

I thought there was going to be more twists and turns around his dad since he saved a whole lot of stuff from burning but nothing.
I thought Penny would be a main villain, but nope, that disappeared.
Ari's abusive husband and parents turned up and then never were mentioned again. So, did he sign the divorce papers??
The author put in the content warnings mentions of infertility. She hadn't been tested only her ex-husband had and "claimed" he was fine. I kept waiting for oh gosh I'm pregnant how did that happen moment.. thankfully, it didn't happen. But the infertility part was a bit weird.
As usual, with some of these MC writers, they prioritise smut over plot, so they end up lacking.

I didn't like that the young Jax died after helping Halo. Why couldn't he have been saved and patched in.

Not enough in this to make me want to read others in the series. As I suspect, they are all the same type.
Could have been good but fell flat.

And don't forget...
Halo is a ex Navy Seal 😋🤪

The Souls We Claim by S. Cole is book seven in the excellent Iron Outlaws MC series. This time we have the club’s road captain Jackson ‘Jax’ Flynn aka Halo and Arianne Osborne in an age-gap, opposites attract romance. This couple are brought together through the actions of others and find themselves linked forever. They turn out to be the best thing to happen to each other. If you thought you had a favourite couple in this series, I think these two will change your mind. Halo and Ari complement each other and are perfect together.

Halo is a decorated Navy Seal who has embraced the one percent life since returning to the club Although he has seen his fellow brothers find their old ladies, he is positive he will never be a one woman man. The last book ended with the murder of his dad and his girlfriend Mercy, leaving Halo to look after his baby step sister Lola. It also revealed the identity of the leader of the Righteous Brotherhood so he feels guilty that everything that is happening to the club is down to his father and he is facing the consequences of his dad’s decisions. Could he be a single dad and raise Lola, while getting revenge for his father’s death?

Arianne hasn’t seen or heard from her sister since she left home and is shocked by the news about her funeral. She is in an abusive relationship and has no support from her parents so sees this as the chance to escape. She turns up battered and bruise to find out she is an aunt. She has no idea about MC’s but is fascinated by the man who offers to look after her as no one has taken care of her before.

Halo’s transformation starts the moment he first sets eyes on Ari. He thinks she’s cute and he gets very protective of her but worries her being linked to the club won’t keep her safe. He’s reluctant to start something as they are responsible for Lola but he struggles to resist her. He likes control and wants to take care of her. As she embraces his dominant side and enjoys him looking after her all bets are off - well except the one with Switch!!

Ari has been through so much in but Halo’s thoughtful and kind actions really help her overcome her trauma. Although intimidated by the MC, she grows in confidence and finds herself able to get the life she has always wanted. All our favourite men appear but its the old ladies that really stand out with their support and reassurance to Ari. Avery was a little star again and the snippets of her with Niro and Cat were great.

The problems with the Righteous Brother hood are always in the back ground but the main focus throughout the book is on then couple. Brad Colins makes his intentions clear and the threats against Halo increase. It all builds into an explosive ending with Halo receiving some surprising help. Can the Iron Outlaws finally annihilate the Righteous Brotherhood and give this couple a peaceful and happy life together with Lola. A heartfelt tale with a shocking cliffhanger ready for the next book.

Another emotional gem in a series that continues to captivate readers as a dedicated bachelor finds himself the sudden guardian to his half-sister upon learning of his father's murder. Add in his surprising introduction to the little girl's aunt, Arianne, and readers get to see a family forming from the ground up. It's an emotionally intense journey to HEA, a heartbreaking yet uplifting romance of overcoming abuse and preconceived notions, and I was captivated by every word and each turn of the page.

Jackson 'Halo' Flynn is an older hero, one who's set in his ways and happily without any relationship ties when readers first meet him. He's a real man's man, rough around the edges, with an air of danger surrounding him that made for one drool-worthy morsel. Once little Lola came into his life though, a softer side emerged, one that warmed my heart. When another female comes into his life at the same time, a woman who Halo knows he should stay away from, fate shows that she has other plans for him after he gives Ari a place to rest her head in exchange for taking care of Lola. He starts off keeping Ari at arm's length, but before long the chemistry between them can no longer be ignored in a compelling romance that becomes more and more powerful.

Arianne is a woman who's been beaten down, physically and emotionally, by a man who kept her from living life to the fullest. He stole her self-esteem and left bruises and scars behind, but trying to keep her from her sister's funeral through one last beating, was the last straw. Seeing Halo for the first time is an intimidating moment for her, but him showing a softer side by holding Lola gives Ari a bit of reassurance. The more time this trio spends together, the stronger the bond grows between them. Halo slowly comes to realize that he has quite a lot to offer a woman, particularly Ari...who he wants to commit to wholeheartedly. Time spent with Halo becomes empowering for Ari, helps her self-esteem, and encourages her to deal with her ex head-on. The unconditional love and support of Halo is just what Ari needs in a beautiful romance that was built from dark roots. Neither of them knew what they were missing until they came into each other's lives...and together it all added up to a match made in heaven.

This family in the making kept me glued to the pages and rooting for them every step of the way. Theirs was a beautiful balance of love, support, and steam. Their journey fit in perfectly with the romantic journeys of past couples in the Iron Outlaws MC and gave Ari an even bigger support system. Just when everything seems to be going the Club's way though, the author upends everything with that gut punch conclusion that's now left me clamoring for the next book in this series!

This book wasn't too bad overall, but it also wasn't the best MC book that I've read. I didn't dislike it, but I only finished it 12 hours ago and I'm having a hard time remembering any details or anything significant about the story. So, I would say that it's a fairly forgettable book. And while it could just be me, I also just wrote a review on a story I read over the course of 2 weeks and finished 2 days ago and remembered most of the details of that book, so I think it might be the book. The story does include descriptive abuse of the physical, financial, and emotional variety. So if that triggers you, it is an active part of this story and you should avoid it. Don't worry - the FMC gets away from her abuser, but they go into detail about her past abuse, as she's dealing with overcoming the abuse that she's become accustomed to.

The phrases used in the MC community always crack me up. They use terms like sweet butt, house mouse, club girl, and old lady to describe what role a woman has in the club. Like the girls who hang around can only have one of like 3 or 4 designations, and the only decent one that doesn't get any hate from the other women is an "old lady." Their caste system for women is pretty insulting and it's dumb that they're essentially viewed as pieces of ass in various ways unless someone decides that they want to wife up one of them. I knew what I was getting into with reading an MC book because I've read the terms before, but it bothered me more with this book.

So, the MMC says that he's a "dom" but that apparently goes out the window when the fragile FMC comes around? She doesn't really fit into any of the boxes that he says that he likes sexually, but seems to be determined to fit her into those boxes to fit his needs. He tells her that she's a "natural, through and through submissive" but she didn't get to grow in that because of her ex husband. Other than the fact that she likes to "brat," I honestly didn't see any other tells that she's necessarily submissive. And just because you like to be in charge and tell someone what to do and take care of them, does that make the MMC a dominant? I don't know that it does and it was slightly irritating to me.

I did like the overall plot of this story! Weaving the FMC's story with the MMC's story was done really well and I liked the resolutions to each story. I'm glad everything ends relatively well, but did like that it wasn't all hearts and rainbows and there were consequences at the end.
I wouldn't say that this story was a waste of time, because I read it from start to finish all in one day, but it just wasn't one of my favorites of this genre. The spice is lowkey and I would say was only 1.5/5. Not the worst way I could have spent an afternoon.

Halo and Arianne’s story is a great age-gap romance that is sexy and intense, with a co-parent twist, and I loved their story so much!

Halo is Road Captain for the Iron Outlaws, a former SEAL, and he’s a smart, sensible, straight-talking guy - what you see is what you get, he holds nothing back, and he’s completely unapologetic about who he is and I love that. His Dad, Wrinkle, is an old-timer in the club, and when he and his live-in girl, Mercy, are murdered, Halo steps up to not only care for his now-orphaned baby sister but he also takes in Mercy’s sister, who shows up for the funeral with nowhere else to go.

Arianne has been living in hell with her abusive husband and her family refuses to help. When she learns that her estranged sister has died she is forbidden by her husband and her job to go to the funeral. She seizes her chance to get away, pay her respects, and start a new life for herself with little more than a whole lot of hope. With so few options available to her, Halo offers her a place to stay and a job looking after little Lola (Arianne’s niece).

From the very beginning, you see Halo’s soft side when he takes his girls into his home and his life. He is fiercely protective and has a heart of gold. There’s a strong attraction between them from the beginning, and though Halo is determined to keep his distance, Ari knows what she wants, and neither of them can resist their sizzling chemistry. I really loved how open they are about their feelings, their wants and needs, and they hold nothing back from each other. Then there is the spice… Halo is a Dom who likes control and needs submission. He is the sweetest though and is always concerned with Ari’s boundaries because of her past. While Ari is new to that kind of dynamic, she’s all for it and finds her safe haven in submission to Halo.

While these two are falling for each other, the series storyline continues with Halo and the club tracking down his Dad’s killer, who is making more direct threats and closing in on them. There is violence and danger, which brings a great intensity to the story, and the action is great. The rest of the MC family comes together to protect each other and they all openly welcome Arianne into the fold. I loved Halo and Ari’s story so much. Their dynamic is really great, and little Lola was the perfect dab of glue to their relationship.

This is the 7th book in the Iron Outlaws MC series. I would definitely recommend reading these books in order, but you could read this one as a standalone, as long as you’re ok not knowing a lot of the dynamics, or finding out spoilers about earlier books.

ARC reçu en échange d’un avis honnête
TW: violences domestiques, abus, violence, mort, meurtres

Now seven books into the Iron Outlaws MC series by Scarlett Cole, I am still wowed by the stories that continue to flow out of her talented mind. Each one showing the difficult roads these characters have traveled to be where they are now. This is an expansive world has even bigger personalities- all ready to protect their lifestyle, the family of found brothers and the women they love.

Jackson 'Halo' Flynn is a former Navy Seal, the club's road captain, and a second generation Iron Outlaw through his father. His military background is embedded in his DNA, he is a born strategist and protector. He sees his brothers finding happiness, envies them a little, but doesn't think having a relationship is in his future. Then all bets are off when his baby sister is left an orphan and a woman shows up claiming to be her aunt. She's bruised, battered, on the run from her abuser and has nowhere else to go. That instinct to protect is going into overdrive now and man, is it on!

Halo needs to be in control to make sense of his world and will protect and care for Lola, and now Arianne with his life. Finding the people who killed Lola's mom and their dad and is on the radar of the entire club. Meanwhile, some of my favorite romance tropes of all live here in The Souls We claim. Age gap, close proximity, found family, dominate alpha hotness and sexy single 'daddy' vibes. This series has a dark, edgy feel, with possible triggers for some, but that's to be expected with an MC romance.

Halo is intense, but honest and caring. He's just what Ari needs to boost her growing confidence so she can stand up to her ex, or anyone else. Is he good enough for a sweet thing like her? He wishes he was, but life in the MC isn't easy. I loved their crazy banter and intimate converations. Ari was a hoot sometimes and Halo was absolutely melty and swoonworthy.

The Souls We Claim was such a great story with equally amazing characters, all the way around. It's another heartfelt, danger filled and suspenseful addition to the Iron Outlaws series which is so, so bingeworthy. This is a must read for fans of MC romance. Start here or begin with book one, but Halo, Ari and Lola are bound to steal your heart eventually either way!

I received an early copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts are my own and freely given.

THE SOULS WE CLAIM is the seventh instalment in Scarlett Cole’s contemporary adult IRON OUTLAWS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is thirty-three year old, Iron Outlaws MC road captain Jackson ‘Halo’ Flynn, and twenty-three year old Arianne ‘Ari’ Osborne’s story line. THE SOULS WE CLAIM can be read as a stand alone but for back story I recommend reading books five and six.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Halo and Ari) THE SOULS WE CLAIM follows after the arrival of our story line heroine. Arianne Osborne arrives battered and bruised, in the hopes of attending her older sister’s funeral but with one look, Jackson ‘Halo’ Flynn is determined to claim Arianne Osborne as his own but Ari needs to recover, and Halo’s past refuses to let go. As Arianne continues to heal, Halo must come to a decision about the woman who has stolen his heart. What ensues is the building relationship between Ari and Halo, and the potential fallout as Ari’s past refuses to walk away, and Halo must face a past he knew nothing about.

The world building focuses on death and loss when the Iron Outlaws MC loose one of their own.Jackson ‘Halo’ Flynn is taking the losses personally, while Ari Osborne refuses to be a further burden to anyone else.

The relationship between Ari and Halo begins as mutual attraction but Ari’s ex Patrick refuses to let go, and in this, Halo is battling between head and heart while Patrick continues to plague our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and impassioned -there is a slight daddy / Dom kink.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including club president Uther ‘King’ Hills, and therapist Rae Miller, Saint and Briar, Iris and Spark, as well as Nico, Switch; Ari’s parents, and her ex Patrick.

THE SOULS WE CLAIM is a story of betrayal, abuse and vengeance; secrets and lies; power and control, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, gritty and dramatic; the romance is fated and furious; the characters are energetic, determined and charismatic.

The Souls We Claim is another incredible story in the Iron Outlaws series by S. Cole, and I still believe that this is the best MC series I have ever read!

My heart is used to being handed over to Ms. Cole’s leading men. Once I become more acquainted, I can’t help but become enamoured by each and every one of them. In fact, it's so hard when asked who my favourite of the Iron Outlaws is, to choose! Currently, it’s Halo because the emotions I have for him are very raw, but once I’ve read the next book it could very well be 🤐 🤐 🤐 🤐 Sorry, I’m not saying, as you’ll find out whose story is next once you’ve finished The Souls We Claim 😉

I absolutely adore Halo and Ari’s story. Hooked from the very first chapter, I felt I was on an emotional roller coaster ride throughout this narrative. There are some hard to read scenes learning Arianne’s history, however, her character development throughout the story is incredible to witness. One of many highlights is seeing her strength come to light. Ari has a wonderful and caring nature and deserves nothing but a future filled with love, friendship and happiness.

I already had a huge soft spot for Halo before starting his story, and now, after seeing just how caring, supportive and possessive he is towards those close to him, he has my heart completely! I may have once dreamt of being Halo’s old lady, however, after watching him with Arianne, I cannot deny that they are perfect for each other.

I cannot fault this narrative. It has everything you’d expect in a MC story and Ms. Cole has once again met the high expectations I always have regarding reading her work. I’ve mentioned one highlight already, and I can’t not mention the friendships between the Outlaw brothers and the friendships between their old ladies too. There are some lovely heartwarming moments shared even when facing a dangerous situation.

I highly recommend this book and series to you to read. They each deserve more than the 5 must-read stars that I can award them.

The Souls We Claim book seven in Scarlett Cole's Iron Outlaw series takes on love, secrets and rivals for a suspenseful ride!

When The Iron Outlaws Road Captain Jackson "Halo" Flynn's father and his girlfriend Mercy are murdered leaving behind their infant daughter Lola, Halo's world takes a direction he never thought he would be in. Faced with raising his orphaned sister alone, finding his father and Mercy's murderer, and his role in the Iron Outlaws, Halo was left with some hard decisions. Enter Arianne ‘Ari’ Osborne Mercy's sister who had not seen her sister in years and was escaping an abusive marriage.

When Halo and Ari met their chemistry was immediate even if they did not act on it right away. Older and protective Halo was exactly what Ari needed to find confidence in herself and faith in people. This pair acted in a true partnership. Halo was someone who was loyal and perceptive but did have a darker side that suited his role in the MC lifestyle he grew up in. This author adeptly showed this character's ability to coldly take a life even as he nurtured those he cared about. Ari was someone who was never valued by those in her life but more importantly by herself. Her kindness and infinite love made it hard not to fall in love with her along with Halo.

The Iron Outlaw series is one that has come into its own as it matures. Ms. Cole has a strong grasp of her portrayals and the overarching subplot she has included in many of this series' works has added a nice layer to her stories. As an author Scarlett Cole shows an affinity for the misfits of society and a good suspense component. Engaging and compassionate, this writer's stories reach far and deep. The Souls We Claim aimed for the heart and hit it dead on for a great read!

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone, but for an overall enhanced reading experience reading the previous books in this series is suggested.*

This book was OK, but there were so many things that were left unfinished. There were some things that I didn't like, as well. Overall, though, it was a nice, light-ish read where we only really got much action at the very end, which seemed a little rushed.

This story was great, and I'm glad to see that she was ready to leave her abusive husband because she wanted better. One thing that I didn't like, though, was that she was still married during this entire book. The whole time she was living and sleeping with Halo, she still had a husband out there.
This leads me to another issue. Nothing really seemed to get resolved much with her husband and parents. They both came by, but after being told to stay away, there was nothing else. I guess they just decided to let it go and move on? It just seems like a loose thread, still. I kept expecting the husband to pop up again, but he never did.

There was finally some action at the end of the book, but it seemed to be over pretty fast. This tends to happen with these books, sure, but at the same time we still don't have any answers. So, the bad guy is dead, but we don't have any answers as to why he was so mad at Halo and family. There was no explanation, really. Just because he didn't have a father figure, he is going to murder people and try to kill his brother and family? That seems a bit weak. Yeah, the nonsense he was spewing did sound like an incel manifesto, but there had to be more to it.

This felt like a sugary sweet romance that was mashed into an MC sub-genre to try and make things stick. For the most part, it was successful, but there are a few edges here and there that didn't really work well.
Overall, this book was about on-par with the rest. I have enjoyed them, but haven't really be IN LOVE with them. They are entertaining enough, though, so I will keep going (especially since that cliffhanger with Switch).

Get ready to buckle up and hold on tight because "The Souls We Claim," the seventh instalment in the adrenaline-pumping Iron Outlaw MC series by S. Cole, is here to claim your soul once again. With each turn of the page, Ms Cole proves yet again why she is a force to be reckoned with in the world of MC romance.

From the very first chapter, I found myself utterly captivated by this masterful storytelling. Just when I thought I had found my favourite story in the series, Ms Cole effortlessly dethrones it with each new release. "The Souls We Claim" is no exception, as it left me breathless and eager for more.

Set against a backdrop of danger and suspense, Halo emerges as the quintessential bad-boy biker, with an irresistible charm that will leave readers weak in the knees. But don't let his tough exterior fool you; Halo is a Dom in the bedroom, unapologetically owning every scene he graces. However, tragedy strikes, shattering his world and forcing him to confront his deepest desires.

Enter Ari, a woman who has weathered her fair share of storms and is in desperate need of a safe harbour. As their paths intertwine, sparks fly and boundaries are tested, leading to a love story that is as tumultuous as it is tender.

But what truly sets "The Souls We Claim" apart is S Cole's ability to tug at the heartstrings with every turn of the page. As I delved deeper into the story, I found myself experiencing a whirlwind of emotions, from heartache to hope, and everything in between.

In conclusion, "The Souls We Claim" is a must-read for fans of MC romance, delivering a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will leave you utterly spellbound. S. Cole has once again proven why they are a force to be reckoned with in the genre, leaving readers clamouring for more with each new release.
