Its 30 messages are organized to progressively build your understanding of the God of the universe so that you can relate to Him. Why? He wants to give you the wonderful life you were made for but cannot reach without Him.
In this book we see that God has spoken to mankind and to us as individuals. He told us about Himself, humanity, our problems, and our future. All the messages prepare us for the ultimate Messenger and the ultimate Message. Who and what are they? Read it to find out!
People who want to learn about God will enjoy this book and its solid information from the Bible. Both those who are new to religion and those who are experienced will enjoy the deep yet readily understandable messages. Religious studies students can appreciate its overview of theology. Pastors can also use the messages as source material for sermons and Bible studies.
This spiritual book would be great for new believers since its content offers valuable instruction in biblical topics and a personal relationship with God. It is not a channel of modern messages from some prophet, as the name might imply. Rather, the author takes Bible verses and truths and presents them in a logical manner to address pertinent information, with each message building on previous chapters and answering pertinent questions. Its thirty chapters cover subjects such as our purpose in life, God’s plan, His attributes, and so much more. The wording is clear and accessible for readers. This offers a helpful resource for any Christian, with basic truths summarized and organized for easy reference. It would be great for church libraries and even as a guidebook in a study for teens or new Christians. An appendix also lists further resources. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
Keon Lindsey's Have You Heard from God Lately? feels like a thoughtful and personal conversation about some of life’s biggest spiritual questions. The book is organized into 30 short, straightforward messages that help guide readers through essential topics like understanding who God is, why life can be difficult, and how to find hope in a world that often feels out of control. Each message builds on the last, making it easy to follow and absorb, even if you're new to these ideas.
Lindsey’s writing is refreshingly clear and relatable. He doesn’t overwhelm readers with heavy theology but instead breaks things down in a way that feels practical and meaningful. His background—as a Navy veteran, pilot, and lifelong Bible student—gives him a unique perspective. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people connect with God and grow spiritually, and that comes through in every chapter.
The book’s conversational tone makes it feel like Lindsey is speaking directly to you, guiding you step-by-step through key spiritual principles. Whether he’s exploring what it means to know God or addressing the challenges we face in life, his approach is warm and understanding, not preachy. He uses scripture to anchor his points, but always in a way that feels applicable to everyday life.
What I appreciate most is how accessible this book is. Each chapter is short and easy to digest, making it a perfect fit for daily reflection or a quick read before starting your day. You don’t need to be a Bible scholar to follow along; Lindsey’s goal is to help anyone, regardless of where they are on their faith journey, gain a deeper understanding of God’s purpose for their life.
Overall, Have You Heard from God Lately? is an uplifting and insightful devotional that speaks to the heart. It’s a great resource for anyone looking to strengthen their relationship with God or explore their faith in a deeper way.
Note: I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a positive review.
I don’t know how many readers take time to read the introduction in a book, but don’t skip over this one. It shares different ways God may speak to someone with scriptures and Biblical figures from the Bible. This encouraged to want to dive into this study right away,
Each chapter has a different topic with scriptures and questions at the end. I liked how easy it was to understand and was able to apply it to my own walk. We can’t forget how God told Eve not to do something very specific. He wanted to see if Eve would obey and follow Him. This illustration shows us that we have a choice. God never makes us do anything. We choose what to do and if we choose a path away from God there could be consequences.
Chapter twenty for me was very powerful. It reminds us that we are not God. We need to be on guard everyday that the enemy doesn’t try to isolate us from God. Remember we are not in control. God is here to help us, guide us and have a relationship with us. We must learn to trust Him with everything.
The book is very helpful and gives us more understanding of who God is. Have you heard Him whisper to you? Do you take time to be in His presence? I always search for a deeper relationship with Him. We all must take time to listen fir His voice, follow his directions and trust him so we may live a life that honors Him.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
“Have You Heard From God Lately?” is highly recommended for novice Believers that may just be becoming acquainted with God and His Word, as well as those who know and love Him, and treasure The Holy Bible and familiar favorite scriptures. The book is beautifully arranged into 30 easy to read messages, which can be enjoyed as daily devotionals. Each message has scripture interspersed with real-life experiences, explanations, and some humor, concluding with questions to ponder. The first messages cover topics from God‘s creations to include mankind, what His purpose is for us, how he loves us, blesses us, provides for us, and wants to commune with us today and always. Later messages teach who He is, explain His promises, His Word and how to trust Him. They also describe how to be assured of salvation and everlasting life in heaven. The author references Lon Solomon’s “‘hope so hope’ as compared to ‘know so hope’ of being saved and going to heaven, which guides how we live daily, here on earth. We connected with and enjoyed this book because we are Believers, know Lon Solomon and David Platt, as past members of McLean Bible Church, and often listen to Vernon McGee as we study God’s Word. This devotional is uplifting, refreshing, and a great way to learn or revisit the truths of The Word.
The devotions contained in this book form a good overview of the basics of Christian belief. Lindsey takes readers step by step to understand what God has said through the Bible. Many Scriptures passages are given as the basis for each of the thirty devotions. This would be a great book for a new Christian or for someone who wanted to understand what Christianity is really about. This book would be a great refresher of biblical truth for seasoned Christians too. There are a few review questions at the end of each reading to help us think about what was just read. The questions are good for individual reflection but could also be used for a group discussion.
These devotions are just a few pages long and are a good daily reading. The book would be a good choice for anyone looking for a month long spiritual emphasis. Lindsey's writing is clear and easy to understand.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Devotionals are a part of my everyday life. I LOVE when I find ones that have a particular theme and are for a certain amount of days. Have You Heard from God Lately? 30 Messages from Heaven to You by Keon Lindsey is the latest Devotional that I have read and gone through.
WOW, this topic and theme really was encouraging. I really like that the Author takes the reader through the Bible in a way that helps both new and solid Christians understand the Bible and to be able to Hear God's Word. Each "chapter" is only 5 pages long and is a "Message from Heaven" on how to understand God's Word through messages from the Lord. Each message includes Scripture, A "Message", A time for Reflection, 3 questions to ponder on. I LOVE the Layout and the Scripture makes a connection to the "Message" for the day. The book can be used for individual study for used in a Group! I really LOVE that the demographics for this book are so wide and broad! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for encouragement with getting to learn from God's messages from Heaven. GREAT BOOK!

I received a paperback copy of Keon Lindsey's Have You Heard from God Lately? 30 Messages from Heaven to You from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
Keon sent me an advance copy of his book a couple of months ago, to read through and review. I love his overall approach which presents 30 basic topics of Christianity, with each topic explained thoroughly and understandably in his own words but relying on scripture itself to make his points. He is not just giving his opinions on what it means to be a Christian and how to live a life pleasing to God, but Keon lets God Himself drive the points home. Beautifully done! I have been a Christian for more than 30 years, but I found plenty of wisdom and encouragement and application in this book.
I heartily recommend this book to everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike. Give it as a graduation gift. Share it with your pastor. Hand copies out at church.
The author chose 30 messages from the Lord, supported with multiple scriptures and broken into 30 quick and easy to read chapters. The themes and messages included are varied and well-rounding. They include some of the names of God, like "I am King" and "I am Love"; promises like He hears our prayers and He is coming back; and our responsibilities like praying for others and learning His Word. This would be great for a month long daily reading plan. Each chapter includes a reflection "Think about it" section with three questions to ponder or discuss adding an additional element of study and growth. This book provides a solid reference for staying connected to The Word and to The Lord. After reading it, I want to look for other 30 day studies/devotionals that can do the same.
This book not only walks through the Scriptures, but asks profound questions that arise naturally and applies a whole-Bible approach to answer them. You need not be a theologian to appreciate this--its clear writing style speaks to the common man in plain language. It focuses on how we relate with God and challenges us to obey the first greatest commandment, looking at obstacles to that obedience and Biblical methods to break through them. I enjoyed the verse selection and the flow of ideas used to explain them. This book is well-edited and polished and feels easy to read the whole way through.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was quite inspirational and a good reminder of the true teachings of Jesus and I especially appreciated the summaries and questions at the end of each chapter to have you rethink what was learned, and how to tie it into your everyday life. The tone of the book was very easy to read and to follow. I don't read the bible as often as I should and appreciated the references made throughout this book to the bible. Over all it was a great read and I recommend this book to young adults/teenagers to keep them on a good path and develop discernment, especially of the things happening around them (friends, social media etc).

After each reading there are a few questions to help readers think about what was just read. These questions are for individual reflection. I really think this book would be a great study book for a new Christian Bible Study. There is lots of Scriptures to back up theses messages. The book is easy to read and understand and each devotion is just a few pages, most are 5 pages.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

This book is simple, but it expresses important eternal truths that all of us need to understand.
