After many years of darkness, Winter never thought that she'd be happy or safe again. Her whole world changed when she met Liam Larson, a charming young doctor determined to be her knight in shining armor. When a brutal night unleashes vicious reminders of her past, Winter must struggle to hold on to the little bit of happiness she has found.
When everything begins to fall apart, Liam's strength and kindness might not be enough to save her. Battling with the betrayal of her family, terrifying nightmares, and frequent reminders of her enemy that make daily life difficult, Winter's first instinct is to run away. She is tired of being the victim and living in a cruel, crowded city where she doesn't feel like she belongs.
But Liam promises her that if she only trusts him, he can change everything. And that's exactly what he attempts to do, starting with an operation to heal her eyes, and then her heart...

Fun fact: The author's real name is Nadia-- she chose her pen name because her sister's name is Loretta, and her sister is lost.
YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS, LORETTA LOST. What the HELL was that I just read? The first Clarity, pissed me off with the massive cliffhanger but I read the second one anyway. I wanted to know what happened, I thought Winter's relationship with Liam held a lot of promise and I actually liked the writing. The second book ended with yet another HOLY SHIT cliffhanger but I was pretty sold on their relationship and I needed to know what happened so I read the third book and all I can say is TOTAL UTTER BULLSHIT. Why? Let's see:
I'm unimpressed that I invested time in this series, only for such a shitty ending.
*Spoiler Alert Kinda* Okay, I admit that was fast-paced. Way too fast. I feel like the author was rushing the storyline because her maximum number of pages was approaching (since the other two books were typically short as well). In the second book, I praised Helen/Winter's relationship with Liam but in the third book it got annoying. He was too sweet...too loving...too soft. Towards the middle, I started losing interest in him because he just seemed too perfect for to handle. Their relationship was moving so fast I couldn't deal. However, I did love their humor in conversations. I would always break a smile without noticing. There were definitely mixed emotions throughout this book. One moment I was laughing, next moment I was angry, and the next moment I was sad. The ending...I wasn't to fond of. That wasn't my cup of tea. It could've been expanded more to tell the reader what happens after they drive off but I guess the little blurb in the epilogue explained it a bit. BUT, there are still unanswered questions about the whole "deal" that Winter's father and Liam made. I mean, what the hell? All of that work and effort for what? He should be the one in a psychiatric hospital. I feel like this book was an utter disappointment to the first two books. I'm not even sure why there's a fourth book. I won't be reading that, three was enough for my eyes.
First of all, there shouldn't be 3 or even 4 books in this series, this could (and should) have been one book. Book 1 and 2 at just over 150 pages were certainly short enough. While book 1 had real potential with an interesting storyline, likeable characters and witty banter, book 2 started to make me wonder whether I really wanted to carry on with the series, but I am not one for giving up once I've started. So I continued with this one to find out how it all ends. I now wish I hadn't. The main character, Helen/Winter, became more and more annoying, the plot became totally unbelievable and annoying (again) and even the humorous dialogue I had enjoyed in book 1 turned into well, yeah, annoying dribble. And that ending?? Really?? Not worth it, wish I'd given up after the first one.
I’m glad that but this book left me losing the will to live. Grayson was an absolute psychopath, and why her sister stayed with him I don’t know. 4.5 out of 10.
This ending sucked. Why all the cliffhangers? Because no one would continue to read this if there wasn't... The entire time I read this "book" I was like WTF?
Recluse 25yr old Helen Winters, blind author extraordinaire, is approached by Dr Liam Larson, who begs her to take part in gene therapy trials in order to restore her eyesight. Things go awry when she decides to call home for the first time in three years.
Unfortunately, book 3 did not pick the series back up. The drama, the choppiness of the story and the two silly mistakes the heroine made spoilt it for me.
This book had too much going on. One minute, it is all fine and dandy next minute, danger, then all fine again, oh no, more trouble, repeat. It concentrated too much on drama and not enough on character development. Each chapter that started, a few days had passed since the last chapter; that made for a really choppy read. And all the time I was thinking, 'is nobody bothered that their lives are in danger?' because, of course they didn't get the police involved.
The book needed structure for sure. It needed to lay off some things and concentrate on others.
Overall in this series, I loved; the first book, the writing, the humour, the romantic-ness of the hero and a few of the scenes were really wonderful. Needed a much more organized storyline and structure.
I really enjoyed this series! I can't stand the ending of this last book though! And the twist with Liam? What about that?? It all just ended! I feel like I need at least one more book!! It probably would've gotten a higher rating from me if the ending hadn't been like that. Honestly, I'm kind of confused and disappointed right now. It's just... Meh. I don't even know what to say. I really hope that there will be a fourth book.
OK I persevered with this - actually paid for 2 and 3 to find at the end that there is another one now - picking up from the end but from Liam's POV. Will I be buying that? Errr no.
Seriously, just when you think the characters can't become more unlikeable and that the storyline can't become more unbelievable they/it does!
Do yourself a favour don't bother wasting your time on this series.
This 3rd Clarity book makes reading that stupid 2nd one worth it. I'm the type that has to see it through no matter how bad, and I'm now glad I'm not a quitter. That second book almost made me loose all interest in Lorreta's writing but this 3rd book was quite good. It's almost as if it's not the same author who wrote it but obviously it is. If you can muscle through the stupidity of the second book I think you will be pleasantly surprised and enjoy this 3rd book.
This was an okay read, But I didn't like it as much as book two.
This was a lot longer than the other two books, and it really felt like it at points. There were a few times where it dragged slightly, and I felt a bit bored because of it.
Overall, An okay read, but not the best one in the series.
Super silly and actually kind of stupid. It irritated me from start to beginning. My memories of book 1 in the series are pretty good, I don't know what happened to the other books:(
rather than try putting books in a 'not interested' folder, I'm going to claim I read them and give a low rating. Putting in not interested, the algorithm seems to think I like the book.
I really, really wanted to like this book/series. It seemed like it was going to be about a strong, intelligent woman who happened to have a visual impairment. But I can't like it. For several reasons, I just hate it. Forget the part about her lover lieing to her. I guess that can be just a plot twist. But then she goes back to him and forgives him for lieing! What a lack of self-esteem. And then, she forgives her rapist!!! OMG. She has no value for herself. Not only that she KISSED him?! Is this straight out of a man's rape fantasy? It's grotesque and it angers me that this is written for Young Adults. At least, it reads simply enough to be. I hope that no young woman ever reads this and thinks it is OK to allow herself to be treated this way by men.

Winter/Helen and Liam get full 5 Stars! The book was brilliant the story was brilliant. They have their first true fight and make up. The long awaited surgery is finally there and for the first time gets the reader an idea what the characters look like. But in the end discovers our heroine a dark secret that breaks her heart. Just when you think it can't get worse. The ending was brilliant and I wished I could continue right know. But I don't have the next two books.

I listened to the Clarity series to hear the voice artist, Elise Arsenault. Elise did a masterful job with material that was so illogical, I repeatedly yelled "Who thinks like that?!?!" The fictional universe of Helen Winters, her family and friends would be more engaging if it was set on a different planet in a different time, and as a cautionary tale rather than a story of romance.
I enjoyed the way Helen gained her independence after her surgery was successful. She wasn't scared all the time. Her life with with her Doctor /boyfriend doesn't seem like but we will see how things go in the next Clarity. It was a good read.
Each book continues to be less and less believable. I really liked the storyline but there were so many questions on answered as in the second book. I just can’t continue. I had so much hope for this series
Beware as you read this series because it really took it's toll on me. Liam and Helen finally meet on common ground and we get to experience them as a couple. Yes, the natural emotions a man would exhibit began to come out, evntually. I do remember thinking he still seemed detached when Helen aka Winter Rose gets an unexpected call from Grayson that was full of threats and promises of him hurting her. Liam's reponse was like a friend comforting a frightened kitten more than a man who was falling in love. Your first instinct would be to protect and make clear to the threat that his rein of terror was over. But as I said it's not what I felt from him. We are lead through Winter regaining her sight and we experience there joy and feelings of love as a new couple experience but I knew from reading the reviews that this book did not end here and that book 4 is not just an epilogue as it states at the end of this book. I even scolded the author in my book 1 review of the series. So as I look at how much is left on my reader the biggest secret of the book is revealed IMO. I won't give it away but lets just say I felt every ounce of pain that Winter did. I was literally ready to stop reading thats how crushed and angry I was but I carried on knowing it would kill me to never finish. I feel drained emotionally but at this books end I was satisfied where it is left off. There is no indication other than what I know from reviews of book 4 that I need to continue as it seems like more angst that I am soooo over. I may eventually go back and try it out but for now this reader is happy to envision a HEA on my terms for the couple. I will say after finishing this book it takes away some of the hostility I took out on the author in my earlier reviews. It is not necessary to buy book 4 unless you crave more. The father and sister still need a more complete ending where Winter is concerned and OMG how I hated that I started to feel bad for Grayson. What he did is unforgiveable but you and I know you have to let go of that hate or it will destroy you and yet I kept thinking, "Could I be so calm and forgiving facing my attacker?"
If your just starting with the series or this is your last book buckle up because it is one hell of a ride. The author does a fabulous job at getting you involved with her characters. They will become part of you and you place yourself in their shoes. Winter had some periods I wanted to shake her and tell her to grow up and I wish we could have seen more of the couple together after she regained her sight. It was there but it made you feel like you were on the outside looking in instead of right there as before her surgery. I love the ideas of what they would name their children it is a very cute idea. I would recommend you buy the boxed set because its cheaper that way even with book 1 being free and also because it is a good twisty story you'll want the to read all of it. The three books are $5.99 which is reasonable for the length. Enjoy!
Jesus Christ, just when I think Loretta Lost's "Clarity" series couldn't get any more breath-taking, she accomplishes just that with book three in the series.
You know it's going to be a perfect read, when the book starts out with words, sentences, paragraphs full of poetry and emotion. Loretta Lost has a way with words, a talent to create such intense stories, that her books can bring you to your knees, make your heart ache and your soul fly. I felt incapable of anything other than just laying my bed and thinking about the story I just read. Holy wowzers.
This book picks right up where book two ended on one hell of a cliffhanger. We're confronted with Helen's fear and inner turmoil. And it is nothing short of heart-breaking. For page after page I was holding my breath, fearing the worst might have come true. How Helen manages to stay sane is beyond me. But it seems after this tragic situation, her life is starting to lead her down a good path. One that brings love and happiness. Rightfully, after all she has experiences she is wary, often waiting for the other shoe to drop. But eventually she takes the plunge to experience life more fully - despite everything that is in her way. As in the books before, I adored her. She's such an incredibly strong female character. Not flawless by any stretch, but extremely self-aware and likeable. When her happiness is again put at stake by the danger of losing the things she just allowed herself to embrace, my heart broke for her. I was sobbing so badly. If anyone deserves a break, it is her. No doubt. How she can still love and forgive is beyond me.
Liam is there for her through thick and thin and although his behavior seems a bit off at times, he is always attentive, sweet and caring. He seems like a prince - always there to either save Helen or help her save herself. He so easily fits the role of the knight in shining armor. But not everything that glitters is gold and some princes have a frog side as well. And when it is revealed that there is more to Liam than he has shown us or Helen, I wanted to strangle him with my own hands, right before cutting off his family jewels and feeding them to rabid dogs. The pain, disappointment and betrayal that Helen felt, I could feel too. But I must admit that when it was tearing Liam apart to realize what he has done, I wasn't crying just for Helen anymore.
Reading the last few pages to find out if Helen and Liam lose everything were nearly unbearable. I stayed up late and woke up the next day with bloodshot eyes and a bird's nest where my hair used to be. And it damn sure was worth it.
The end was amazing. Not a cliffhanger, but open enough for me to supply the details. I loved that.
This book left off with the ending of the second book with her sister marrying her rapist and finding out she was pregnant. She and her doctor Liam started getting very close, some might say they were starting a relationship. They weren't allowed to be a couple because she was his patient. Helen was living back at home with her rapist, sister, and dad. Helen didn't feel comfortable she never left her room unless the rapist was gone. One night Liam and Helen went on a mini date at Liams co-workers wine tasting. Helens father used to make his own wine so she could guess every wine she tasted correctly. Liam was excited by how well she was doing.
After the date he took her back home and Liam was kissing Helen good night and the rapist came out of the house yelling with a gun in his hands. Helen didn't know what was going on due to being blind all she knows is Liam is telling her to get in the car and stay there and get down. She hears a few gun shoots go off and she calls out for Liam and he didn't answer. she called out once more and tried to get out the car to check on him. He yelled get back in the car and next thing she hears is the car window break. The shots stopped and she went after liam touching a body in the ground trying to identify who it was and she realizes it not Liam and freaks out even though he was not awake. Liam finally woke and went to helen Her dad and sister ran out not knowing what went on Helen wanted nothing to do with them so they got in liams car and went to liams house. in the car helen realized that liam was shot and felt so bad. when they got to his house and stiched his leg. Him and Helen got intimate but then had flashback and freaked when liam touched her. Liam ended things there and gave her a shirt to wear while he went to bed. Helen was kinda made because she wanted things to go further. The next morning she woke up and Liam wasnst there she was still mad and now even more mad he left her in a strange house so she found her way around to her stuff and left. Helen doesntt do well in in cities so she was getting all turned around, people yelling at her, and a lot of loud noises. Liam found her with a hand full of groceries bags. He stopped her from fleeing once again and they are starting new from the night before.
I won this book on First Reads, Goodreads Giveaway program. Thanks to Loretta Lost for hosting it.
This is the third book of the Clarity series by Loretta Lost. What seemed like a young adult saga ended up being new adult with this book.
Anyway, it was not bad (as the others new adult books I'd read in the past) There was no instalust (as the story has two previous books behind) and that made it work.
At the beginning of Clarity 3, we learn what really happened at the end of the previous book. We find out who is alive and who isn't, so this book starts as a very heavy one.
The relationship between Helen and Liam finally takes off, but a few complications come into its path. There is a betrayal, I won't say anything more it but this: it made us understand some things of the previous two novels, it gave them sense. In my subconscious, I was expecting it.
Also, Helen finally undergoes some test and the surgery.
What I did not like at all was that Helen blames herself for what happened to her in the past, when it's clearly not her fault and she should not try to justify the person who did that to her. Anyway, I don't really know if it's normal for victims to feel that way, but I found it unbelievable.
The best thing about Clarity 3 is its ending. What a wonderful piece of art. I loved every single line of it. Hell, I've not read an ending so intense in years!
To summarise, Clarity is a great and unconventional young adult/new adult trilogy that I would recommend to people tired of the thematics that those genres usually touch.
