Finding Her Voice

Rate this book
Summer finds herself on the run after escaping her abuser with the help of an unlikely adversary. Would her abuser's father, Mr. Diamond, prove to be a friend or a foe? Starting over in a new city with a new identity, she continues to run from her dark past she shared with Christopher. A surprise love interest from the past soon sweeps her off her feet, attempting to show her love isn't conditional. He proved to be everything she'd ever dreamed she'd wanted, but she couldn't be what he needed. Carrying a piece of her past that she couldn't let go would open doors, allowing a destructive storm from her past to wash away her newfound happiness. Summer would soon be forced to learn which Diamond man is the bigger threat.

This sequel is a continuation of Her Lost Words, Her Broken Silence. Summer falls in love with Christopher Diamond, falling for his charismatic charm, unaware of his two split personalities. His obsession with the innocence of her being and a need to control her became a life-or-death nightmare. Getting sucked into his distorted view of reality, Summer found herself fighting for her life when Christopher's father, Mr. Diamond, provided her a way out while also giving her keys to her past that would come with the ultimate sacrifice. She could discover who her birth parents were, but she would have to bury her past, which included her true identity, to escape the clutches of her abuser.

I need to talk about this book because it wrecked me in the quietest way.
Finding Her Voice is not a “fall in love” story.
It’s a “learn how to live again” story.
Summer is fleeing an abuser who didn’t just stalk her — he infiltrated her life for years like a strategist. The level of manipulation is terrifying. This isn’t toxic romance. This is psychological warfare.
And then Stevin walks in.
What I loved most? He doesn’t rescue her.
He stabilizes her.
He leads from behind. He waits. He listens. He gives her choices — something trauma stole from her for years. Even their intimacy feels like therapy and trust instead of dominance.
The book takes a dark, almost survival-thriller turn that genuinely made my stomach drop. Kidnapping. Isolation. Power plays. A fight to stay alive. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop — and when it did, it hurt.
But what makes this story special is that Summer saves herself first. The “rescue” is community, not one man on a white horse.
By the end, you don’t get a neat happily-ever-after.
You get fragile hope.
And somehow… that feels more real.
Now excuse me while I go read Books 1 and 3 because I’m not done with these characters yet.

This book was breathtaking and easy to follow the characters. In the beginning, this author expanded on every feeling and emotion that a couple could ever experience.
And since I knew Christopher was a psychopath,I kept wandering when would he appear?
But it was so exciting to see Summer finally found someone that truly loved her and would do the utmost too show her love and how to love.
The book kept me wanting to read more and more. But as I got too the end it was so nice to see what I thought would never end, ended on a “happy note”.

So ready for the third book a continuation of this book, can’t wait too see what the Diamond’s plan are next.
This is a story for the big screen and a mini series for television!!

Summer's journey is a rollercoaster of emotion and awful suffering. In hiding from her abusive ex, Christopher, Stevin, a man from her past who always loved her, takes it upon himself to hide and protect Summer. He becomes instrumental in helping her reconnect with her long-lost mom. But her inner demons of PTSD from her past make it hard for Summer to fully trust any man. An unfortunate misunderstanding with Stevin leads Christopher to the chance to find Summer and snatch her back, and that's when the true horror of Christopher's abusive nature becomes fully revealed to the reader. At that point, you just can't put the book down until the very end, because you need to know if Summer can escape his evil clutches and ever find happiness again. A riveting read.

Entertaining

Oh, boy! Exotic scenes, steamy sex, and more... Definitely for mature readers.

The story is interesting. In the heart of the southern US, Summer, a young woman, flees from an abusive relationship and finds solace in the arms of an old friend. Their bond deepens as they embark on a journey to Louisiana, where hidden truths unravel before their eyes... This second chance love story by the author provides a fresh take on romance, delving into darker themes that may be unsettling for some readers.

One minor suggestion, if I may. The author might consider cutting down on the frequent use of dialogue tags (e.g., “said” and “asked”).

All in all, it’s an entertaining read.

Compelling story of longing, heartbreak, and hope

“Finding Her Voice” is an exquisitely written novel that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Summer’s journey to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship is both gripping and emotional. With the help of her abuser’s father, Mr. Diamond, and the reappearance of an old flame, she navigates a complex and dangerous path to find peace. The story also has an amazing plot twist that keeps you guessing!

This sequel masterfully blends dark romance, light humor, and steamy scenes, making it a true page-turner. A must-read for those who appreciate intense, emotionally rich narratives.

An interesting new voice

A young woman in the deep south escapes an abusive relationship and discovers new love, with an old friend. During their romantic reunion, they take a trip to Louisiana where Summer discovers there are more secrets waiting to be uncovered. The story escalates when her ex refuses to let her go. The author offers a new perspective from the usual in her second chance romance. There are triggers, so my suggestion is that this book is for mature audiences.

Amazing Plot Twist!!!

I don’t want to give the plot away to anyone who is looking to read the story. But it is so beautifully written and weaves everything together perfectly. The storylines are interlaced in such a way that keeps you guessing throughout. The book definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat with its themes of steamy romance, betrayal, loss, hope, and heartbreak!

A nicely written

Summer escapes her abuser Christopher. In a new city with a new identity she tries to outrun her past. An old flame shows her unconditional love, but she can't fully commit. Her unresolved past threatens her new happiness, forcing her to confront it. A nicely written book with a good story. Steamy scenes which were a bit too detailed for me and too many pet names (darling, hun etc..) but a good read with a lot of thought rhat went into the storyline.

In finding her voice, Summer finds her birth mom and true love. Only to have Christopher Diamond kidnapped her and threatened to kill everyone in her life, including her unborn child if she tried to leave him. Her situation only gets worse when his parents get involved. I loved the plot and hated it when the book ended. Bring on book 3.

I can't put this book down! More to come! Very intense and beautiful, it really represents how a real relationship should be. The way people should communicate, forgive and allow for healing. The sexual scenes are very hott! Again, makes your mind go places :) I love this, and I love that healing takes form in so many different ways and so many different words!

intense

the last time I read a book about an escape this urgent it was Assata. Christopher is a nut. wanted an open confrontation between him and Stevin over Summer. I’m glad Summer found her voice.

Good Read

1st read by this author, and I must say it was good. I'm glad Summer got the ending she deserves. Even though I didn't read the 1st book, I did understand this one, and I like it. Nice work.

Big thumbs up!

I really enjoyed this read. Not at all my usual genre, but I felt the author well introduced me to her world and was able to create a lovely, sensitive feel. Will be eagerly looking out for other things they publish. Definitely give this a go!
