Eve's Blessing
Eve seeks a life where she isn’t fighting every second to provide for herself and her brother, Nicky. I did struggle at the start of the book; because of the shifting worlds, POVs and an early flashback it was hard to get a feel for the characters and what type of story it was going to be. However, after about 20-25% read, I was invested in the characters and interested in the plot and world.
If I hadn't struggled at the start I would have rated this even higher, because the character development, the backstories, the nuance of emotions and well-written side characters are fantastic.
This book contains heavy themes like grief, loss, abuse, and search for a place to belong, with on page depictions. It's at dimes difficult to read, but worth it because the subjects are handled with care and the characters are allowed space to mourn and choose how to move forward in their own ways.
There are some loose threads left as the story is concluded, and some side characters I would love to see more of. If there was to be a second book connected to this one, I would happily read it.
Would recommend, might read again.

beautiful
I think this book broke me a little! I found myself feeling every emotion but the two I felt most was sorrow and anger. The world building was truly beautiful the whole journey was both heartbreaking and transforming. I went into this with one expectation as I found a post with mha and inuyasha comparisons. And that was entertainment. It had me hooked. And yes at times I was entertained but mostly I identified with eve and safir in ways I wasn’t expecting. My heart hurt for them as much as it yearned for more. J.j. Park definitely has found their way into my favorite author life. I definitely recommend reading eves blessing. You’ll cry and laugh n scream in equal measure lol

Wow I don’t even know where to begin with this review! First of all, i’ve never read a book by a local author before so this was new to me, yet one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. I’ve been in a reading slump for the past several months, so I decided to pick this book up to try and help me out of it. Needless to say, it exceeded my expectations! To begin, I absolutely loved the dual perspective, which made the book all the more enjoyable. Thankfully JJ Park wrote very likable and relatable characters, which in my opinion made this a five star read. I never wanted to put this book down, and I was constantly thinking about it throughout my day. Some fantasy novels are hard to follow for me because so many details of the world are thrown right at the beginning of the book, however Eve’s Blessing gradually introduces to the world of Walyre. This aspect makes a comprehensive world while still leaving me wondering more. Everything about this book from the character development to the world of Walyre was quite amazing. I don’t think i can say much more without leaving spoilers! Thank you JJ Park for writing such an excellent book :)

Beautiful
Eve's Blessing was a ride! So many emotions, so many actions, so much that could happen, and even things left undiscovered. I have theories about things that were left unfinished and I NEED to know more ASAP. Eve is the FMC we need! She was strong, resilient, and amazingly empathetic and understanding. I loved everything about her.
Only one thing upset me (obviously not much because 5 stars!) the miscommunication had me SCREAMING 😂

A beautifully written story about finding the place you truly belong no matter the cost.
Eve lives in our world but Safir is a prince in a kingdom of a different realm. When Eve stumbles into his world and proves herself useful to the crown, everyone's lives become intertwined.
This is an amazing debut novel by JJ Park and I truly believe everyone should take the time to read it. Once you get to know these characters, their worlds, and their lives, you will continue to want more.

Where do I start with this book. What a ride you are taken on between worlds. The chemistry between Eve and Safir is amazing. I love the perspectives between the two characters. Truly an amazing book that makes you fall in love with the characters and how they became who they are. Both fighters who have endured SO much. Truth be told, the end broke me with Eve. What a lovely adventurous ride. Loved every bit of it.

-I don’t know why I’ve waited so long to read this. I guess I hadn’t really grasped what the plot was with just the few sentences I had. But once I’d started it, I was hooked. It truly was a great book, very entertaining with a fun magic system. The thing about each having their blessings and then someone form another world coming along and changing what everyone knows if great. I also liked how both worlds were still integrated into the story and not one was given up during the book.
-Great characters. Eve had a good backstory which was difficult in so many ways but shape her as a great character. Safire was alright, nothing too out of the ordinary, if I can say that, but once we had learned of what his father did, my perspective on him did change. Then their relationship was sweet but I like how slow burn it was. But, I have to say, Zae kind of ruined everything for me. I didn’t like her, didn’t like her character or her involvement in the story. She felt unnecessary and just there to cause unnecessary drama. And Safir just kind of went along with it which irritated me.
-I wished that Nicky could have been healed and then could have been in Walyre with his sister. There are lots of little moments I wish I could have changed but in a way, it was a nice ending for this book that does make me anticipate the sequel. I wonder if we will ever go back to Eve’s world after this because I guess she’s leaving everything behind to live full time in Walyre. Only time will tell.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read! The main female character was a top notch baddy who could hold her own despite the circumstances of her life and she gets to meet a prince in another realm! (Ok!!! That’s the dream!) The book is beautifully written, both narration and dialog, and I can’t wait to continue following J.J. Park as she continues her writing journey!

Enjoyed the world building, it wasn't TOO much info all at once causing you to get lost or uninterested.
The characters back stories were amazing and so emotional! I cried a few times throughout.
I'm so ready for another book, there was some side characters I'd love to have more story on, and just to see the main characters grow together!

Eve’s blessing takes us on an imaginative journey between realms from the tough modern day street life of an orphaned female brawler to the romantic intrigue of a life of royalty in a far away castle. Which is not without its own tragedy. Plenty of interesting characters and mystery keep the reader’s interest. Themes of true love and self sacrifice intwine with “blessings” of conveying, reading, possessing and interrupting emotional waves and energetic auras. I am very much looking forward to a sequel by J.J. Park.

This is a really emotional and moving book. There's definitely a sweet love story, but also a lot of themes of grief and trauma and an exploration of family bonds (both biological and chosen). I would love to read more about these characters!

I loved this book. At times, the pace felt rushed, and there are some mistakes that should have been corrected before publishing, but the story it so good that I can look past it. I bought this because the author is local, I didn't realize what I was getting myself into. I now demand a sequel!

I will always love Eve's Blessing! It is such a good book about found family, grief, other worlds, and trying to find where you fit. I know I will come back to this novel again and again!

Most excellent! One of the best books I've ever read. A perfect mix of fantasy, romance, and friendship all in one. Keeps your imagination going wild while also keeping you grounded.

It took a little bit to get into this book, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down! I had to know what was going to happen next… Looking forward to the next book by JJ Park!!
