I liked the mafia twist and arranged marriage, but it jumped from marriage to she’s a little bratty and they are in love all of a sudden? It kind of needed a work up to that oh and she got on my last nerve when the crisis hit- seriously. Little too rushed but I think if the relationship would’ve drawn out a little and everything would’ve fit- just saying.

This as a very enjoyable book and I like the storyline and how these two who are so different and drive each other crazy could be perfect in the end and so this is Ivan and Julie’s story. Ivan Stepanov is a CEO Biillionaire and owner of Stepanov Holdings an IT company and is very demanding and arrogant and not many people can work with him except his assistant Julie who is great at her job but he wouldn’t tell her that. But later that evening he receives a text from Julie complaining about him and how he drives her crazy and he is very rude and demanding even if he is sexy as sin and so tempting with this knowledge he goes to see her to confront her but while outside he gets a lot more than he bargained for and this starts them on a journey together. Julie is a top notch assistant and works very hard for her grumpy and arrogant boss but he is so sexy and this drives her crazy as well and he a started in her dreams many a time and so when she texts her aunt and complains all the while not realizing she sent it to boss until he shows up at her door and she realizes he must of heard her and makes her an offer and soon that line is crossed and Ivan wants more a wife and an heir with Julie. Will she except his offer and if so how does it all work out in the end, well get this book to ind out.

HIS demands -Part of the Silver Fox Daddies each can be read as a standalone with a sliver fox and the one who captures his attention without trying. Ivan sexy as all get out retired Bratva allowed to walk away, started a business of his own successful might I add but he is a workaholic, pushes everyone around him just as hard as he pushes himself and he isn’t a nice man for the most part even treating his assistant in a way that makes her hate her life. Julie is a sweetheart that has lived through a lot after witnessing her father murder her mother, she deals with an insufferable boss to make enough money to start a nonprofit organization to assist domestic abuse women/kids a program close to her heart and when her boss pushes her too far she walks out to cool down and texting her aunt her mother’s twin, and needing to vent she about the boss who happens to be an a**how she hates him but also recognize how sexy he is but her text message went to the very man himself. The moment he got that text he realizes he isn’t the man anymore but decides to go after what he wants her so he shows up to her front door with demands will she meet the demands, can he show her another side to him, will the age difference be an issue, is he really retired from the bratva, will she accept all of him even that side of him, and can they find more then the tension between the two of them?

A Steamy HEA

This was a nice read. I enjoyed their dynamic and the build up to their agreement. Majority of the book read almost like a dark romance and the last quarter was a cozy happily ever after.

So in love with this author! I discovered her on Facebook and just had to read her books!
Julie is Ivan’s secretary and she has been working for him for a year when she sends a sexually frustrated text to him instead of her friend!
Imagine the excitement when her gorgeous but serious boss comes to her house to ask her is it true what she texted!
And just wow that hot sexual scene was intense!
This is a really good read with a gorgeous boss and his beautiful and sassy assistant. The bratva gets involved in his life, since he is a former member.
And the ending is so very beautiful! I recommend this book and I know I will be reading it again.

When she made it home frustration gnawed at her so she decided that if she can't drown her sorrows in a sea of apologies and understanding from Ivan then she will do it in a warm bathe. However, as she lay in the tub her mind take her back to Ivan but not in a frustrated way but in a sexual way. She started imaging him him pleasuring her.
Julie decided that she might as well giving into the imagination and pleasure herself but not in the bath tub, she could not do it in the tub. She decide to go to her overstuffed couch and imagine all the sinful and dirty things that he would while touching herself that he could do to her body. She had just finished with a massive orgasm and was trying to get up out couch for a glass of wine from the fridge when she heard her doorbell. She checked her time and was wondering who could it be at that hour of the night. She checked her peephole and saw that it was her boss, Ivan Stepanov which freaked her out. She opened the door at stared at him in her half wet messy hair and silk robe that hugs her body with all her curves on display. The look in his eyes was different from the ones in the office. It's dark and it looks like he wanted to eat her up, and as she studied him some more she noticed a shamelessly generous bulge protruding from his pants which made her licked her lips. He finally breaks the silence since he wrung her doorbell and informed her that she knows that she text him about hating him but finds him hot. Immediately the feeling of dread fills Julie to the point that it grabs her by the throat and stiffening her joints as understanding dawn on her of what was happening.
She thought that she was texting her aunt but instead accidentally texted him. Ivan steps into her personal space and tells her that whatever she imagined in there doesn't come close to how he can make her feel. He heard pleasuring herself and calling out his name as she orgasm before he rang the doorbell and was trying to figure out the best approach to use regarding the text and what he had just heard. He went inside and Julie thought that they were going to have sex but instead Ivan gave her two mind-blowing orgasm zips up his pants then heads for the door and tells her he would see her tomorrow. Julie wonders what will happen tomorrow since they have crossed the lines. Ivan thought he was going over to her apartment to show her because of her behavior earlier, but after he heard orgasm to his name they were no going back and she certainly showed him. When he got home he couldn't stop thinking about her and what had just happened between them and he wanted more and to be inside her and hear her call his name in throne of passion like she just did. Ivan pride himself on control in all things but he had give in and indulge himself in pleasuring himself this once as he thinks out her and things he wanted to do to her. After that he scheduled a meeting with Julie for 8:15 the next day because they had a lot to discuss. He couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation for the meeting, it will be a meeting unlike no other. It's a step into uncharted territory, a venture into a dynamic that's as thrilling as it is uncertain. He had a plan that he was thinking about after their encounter and he wanted to test her to see what she thought even though he was serious.
Julie thought Ivan requested the meeting because he was going to fire her for what happened in her apartment. But instead he was asking her questions on marriage. She was confused and frustrated by his line of questioning. But he eventually put her out her misery and tells her that he needs a wife and child and he thinks that she's perfect for the job. She was flabbergasted and didn't know if he was serious or joking. She tells him that she doesn't know what he's used to in Russian but it doesn't work like that in America.But Ivan decided to sweeten the deal by offering her the money to kickstart her non-profit plus all his connections and he would take care of her giving her everything that she needs and all he asks for is at least one child. He needed a heir because he didn't want all that he had built over the years to died with him. Julie doesn't believe in a marriage without love. Ivan is very practical in all things but she needed time to think things over because she was overwhelmed with everything that he had proposed. He was trying to convince her when there was a knock on his door. He immediately senses danger on the other side of the door because it wasn't normal for someone to be knocking and when he opened the door his worst fears materialized before his eyes. Standing in the doorway, exuding a dangerous aura are figures ripped straight from a chapter of his old life that he had thought he closed for good and left in Russia. It was two Russian gangsters with cold, menacing, and calculating eyes heavily armed and standing behind them looms a ghost from his past. It was none other than Boris Abramov, the head of the Bratva he once served.
The air around them feels charged, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken threats. His mind races on the reasons for the unexpected visit and the implications it carries. The Bratva is not an entity one plays with and clearly Boris presence is an indication that the past is not buried like he had hoped. Boris tells him that the Bratva needs his expertise on a few matters. But Ivan refuses to be dragged back into that life he left behind in Russia after he had worked so hard in building a legitimate life for himself. Boris tries to tell him that once a Bratva always a Bratva but Anton Mikhailov had released him of his duties which makes him no longer bound to the organization. Boris will not take no for an answer and tells him that he would be in touch with his assignment, but Ivan is a change man and he bows to no one and will not be controlled by the Bratva. All he thinks about is a life with Julie and he must protect her from his old life while handling his old boss expectations and threats. Two days later Julie agrees to proposition they gets married at the court house and after the wedding the two went to Bora Bora for a week long honeymoon. The more time they spent together Ivan realize that it was much more than transactional. It was meant to be a business arrangement but it turned into something real, something he never knew he wanted. Boris continually tried to get Ivan back into the Bratva but was unsuccessful and when he couldn't get him to bend to his will he kidnaps Julie as leverage. Ivan did something that he would not have done in his former life he decided to work with FBI. Ivan wanted a child to leave his legacy to but instead he was blessed with a double portion when Julie gave him to twin girls. His Demands was a swoon-worthy story.

This book was amazing! KC Crowne was an all star with this book! I have read almost every book KC Crowne has written. But this one is so much different than what she usually writes but in a really amazing way! The closest books may be the Bratva Series. This is truly KC Crowne’s best writing yet! I see it fitting less with the Silver Fox Series and somehow working into the Bratva Series. I would be so excited to read more books like this!
The parts that make it the most fun are the characters. In this case the major characters are:
Ivan–Ivan is a single billionaire. A rather arrogant, angry, billionaire. He has wants an heir and decides to propose it to the person who likes him and he can tolerate. But Ivan is holding a huge secret. The likes of which could take down his company.

Julie- Julie is Ivan’s beautiful assistant, Top notch, but Ivan would never tell her that. Ivan approaches her and asks her if she would please marry him and give him a child. Like Ivan she is lonely.

The storyline is that Ivan Is Julie's arrogant boss but when she gets home she gets all excited over him. She tries to tell her aunt and unfortunately her boss gets the message. He shows up at her apartment to talk about it when he from outside the apartment he hears his name being screamed in throes of passion. He knocks and continues her passion. There is so much eroticism that is written in to that scene. It continues with demanding she be in his office quite early. She thinks she will be fired and has all these comebacks but instead he asks her to marry him and have his heir.
What follows is a combination of the Bratva coming back to town. But what do they want with Ivan? Does Julie marry Ivan? There is a tremendous amount of erotica between them.
Be ready for shootings, kidnappings, so much erotica you want to turn away.

What happens in the story? It is definitely worth it to Read the Whole story because the ending is unexpected.

To me this story should be the beginning of an awesome series or at least part of Bratva! I mean this could have been more family. You could take that series farther. What about Fyodor's story? There is certainly more there for Barb or Calvin. This story of KC Crowne’s truly was one of a kind!!

Ivan and Julie's story wasn't as good as some of the other stories in this series. I never made a connection with either character and ended up skimming the last 30% of the book. Julie's character just seemed off to me in that she is his assistant and yet has no idea he is associated with the Russian Bratva or how wealthy he is. She spends her time after their brief ceremony oohing and awing at the opulence of his home and wealth. Her reason for agreeing to marry Ivan centered on her cardinal sexual desire for him and starting a non-profit in the name of her late mother. Neither reason resonated with me enough for any woman willingly to jump into a life's commitment to marry and have his children with a man you know little about. What she does know is that he is all business, morning, noon and night and is very demanding This arrangement had no end date and and boiled down to another MFC who sells her soul for becoming a man's submissive and engaging in his version of dark sex and popping out an heir for money.

Their is some action in this novel and it has it moments of suspense, but found Julie's character making some poor decisions that resulted in some unnecessary drama.

Ivan is the typical Bratva MMC whose focus is the Bratva and his private business. The fact he did not level with Julie about the Bratva and what she was signing up for just emphasized that his only concern was getting what he wanted. The author attempts to make this a love story by the end of the book, but I personally never felt that these two really loved one another. They loved what the other brought to the table in fulfilling their personal agendas. They are definitely attracted to each other sexually and grew comfortable with one another as story progresses. Imo, there was no heartfelt feeling that they were in love. They were both quite willing to to carry out this arrangement for the rest of their lives. She gets her foundation, twins, and riches while he gets a pretty wife, heirs and the façade of a loving marriage.

It's a win win in a clinical context.

Take one bossy, intimidating Russian businessman, and his beautiful, very efficient assistant who is tired of his demands without praise. Add in a text message gone awry and an unexpected passionate encounter that leaves them both wanting more. Then you get two people who ate also wondering what the consequences of their shared night will be. Julie is certain her boss is about to fire her when she walks into his office the next day. She tries to maintain her calm, business-like facade until he suggests that they marry. Turns out Ivan, her boss, wants an heir, a legitimate one, and he has decided that Julie will do well as his wife and mother of his child. In return he will fund her dream of setting up a non-profit which honours her late mother and victims of domestic abuse. After signing a prenup and a quickie wedding, Ivan whisks, Julie off on a tropical honeymoon. She discovers that Ivan has a warm, approachable and attentive side that she never knew was hiding behind his usually bored and distant facade.

Unfortunately, trouble is lurking in the wings for the newlyweds. It seems his past with the Bratva is back to haunt him and to force him back into a life under their control. As much as he tries to thwart their efforts, Julie has now become a target to use to rein him in. Together, they must work to keep a step ahead of the Bratva, as well as protect each other and those they care about.


Ivan and Julie may not have expected love, but it found them anyway. Their story is spicy, a tad chaotic and twisty, and includes a test of their mettle and connection against an enemy who just won’t quit. I found it to be very engaging and intriguing. I would happily recommend this book to those who like to read spicy, dark romance.

Ivan’s eyes are opened to what’s in front of him, Julie.
WOW! This is a different Bratva story. Ivan Stepanov left Russia a long time ago with the blessing of his old Bratva boss. Ivan’s hard work and smarts have made him a very successful but “work-a-holic” man. At Stepanov Holdings Ivan rules with a tight fist. He treats his staff, especially “the best assistant he’s ever had” awful. Julie Goodacre loves her job hates her tyrant of a boss. He may be HOT but he’s a controlling ungrateful grumpy man and today she explodes and leaves. She needs to cool down. Julie needs this high-paying job for another few years to be able to afford the non-profit she wants to start that will help survivors of domestic abuse. Julie’s father murdered Julie’s mom.
Julie is very close to her Aunt Barb, her mother’s twin, and today she just needs to vent so she shoots off a quick text, “Hate boss even though he’s Hot”. She hit send ONLY it went to the wrong person! The scene when Ivan shows up at her door after he receives her text, is priceless, LOL. This is a real eye-opener for Ivan. When you realize you are not a young man anymore… all you do is work … you have nothing but money… who are you going to leave your success to? Ivan believes he can change that by paying the beauty he most respects, Julie, to marry him and give him a child. Just when Ivan believes he has all the answers for his happy ending, the Bratva are back and need him to do “one little favor for them”. NO! Well, you don’t turn down the Bratva, now Ivan and Julie are in serious trouble.
I love Ivan. He’s truly a good guy and has become a wonderful husband and father. I love Julie. She is so good for Ivan. I also love her Aunt Barb and Fyodor, Ivan’s younger brother. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and these are my thoughts. Linda

Ivan Stepanov has built up a very successful company. He is a very demanding boss something Julie his personal assistant can attest to. She often has to bite her tongue or making a sarcastistic remark just to ease some of the tension within her. But she'll not be like all his other assistants, she will stick it out as she has a goal/business plan she wants to accomplish. She can use the money she earns and saves to set up a non-profit for domestic abuse something she lost her mother to.

On one of these bad days with her boss she left the office early just for her peace of mind and went home and sent a text to her Aunt who brought her up complaining how he was exacting, infuriating but so HOT! Only problem being it went to the boss instead. Who promptly turned up at her apartment which went from Julie being embarrassed to something she never expected.

When arriving at work the following day, thinking she'd lose her job another unexpected proposal came her way from Ivan, one that had her dumbstruck. She said she would think it over and come back to him. This proposal could help her dream become reality but could she go through with it even though she knows that there is chemistry between them?

But as everything is going well for them, Ivan's past, which he thought he was free from comes back to cause problems and put his family in danger. Can he deal with the threat and keep his family safe?

A very enjoyable story. Story flowed well, characters were well rounded. The chemistry that had been simmering over the last year eventually burst through and showed Ivan there was more to life than his work. Family and love were the most important.

So he's a grump boss, she's the sassy assistant. She sends a text saying she hates her boss but dammit he's hot, and accidentally sends it to him. It kicks off a chain of events...he wants her, she wants him. Hey lets get married and you give me children and I will make all your dreams come true?

They fall in love, she gets preggo but oh btw I used to be a member if the Russian mob and they are after me to rejoin them. And there's alot more drama involved. And lots of frustrating scenes. Don't lie to me. No more secrets ok? Oh btw I'm preggo and haven't found the time to tell you? Or when she's mad/upset she can't find him (hes still on the property where they are hiding out)and he has left his cell phone. Then she gets a call and then she runs out of the house, running from security who are there to help her, and she takes a car and makes a getaway. SHE LEAVES HER CELL BEHIND!!! but my all means girl trust your dad. Thats an accident waiting to happen, the only one who didn't see it was her.

And This final piece.... The Russian mob has her. She's pregnant. She's attempting to get away. Over and over They keep on hitting her. In her head. She's not thinking of bidding her time for the baby's sake? No. Maybe waiting for a perfect moment to try to escape? nope. maybe sitting and giving her hubby a chance to find her or to just break down and do what they want of him? Hells no. I was ready to throw my kindle against the wall.

His Demands is book 16 in the Silver Fox Daddies series. It's a steamy, OTT, instalust, age-gap, forced marriage, girl gets her boss office romance. Ivan is a hunky, grumpy, sexy Russian businessman who used to be a member of the Bratva. Julie is his beautiful, smart, and sassy secretary. One night after work, she fires off a text about her boss being a demanding jerk , but that she finds him incredibly hot, but it goes to him accidentally ...whoops. He ends up at her door, and OMG does things get hot and S-T-E-A-M-Y. That scene is so hot that I thought my Kindle was going to melt. The next day, Julie thinks she might be fired, but Ivan surprises her by demanding she move in with him, marry him, and have his baby as he wants an heir. In exchange, he will help her set up the non-profit she wants to start for domestic violence (she watched her father kill her mother) to honor her late mother. She agrees, and real feelings become involved. Danger also comes knocking again from Ivan's dangerous past. Can he keep Julie safe? This story had a lot of twists and turns, and I was sweating the happy ending, but it came through. I ended up really loving Ivan and Julie together. This was a great, steamy, fast-paced read. There are some darker elements, too, with the Bratva and domestic violence issues.

Mr. CEO succumbs to love

Crowne’s characters are always appealing and the MMC is usually flawed in some way. This certainly is the case of Ivan Stepanov who is the CEO of Stepanov Holdings, and IT company. His personal assistant Julie Goodacre is the epitome of a hardworking young woman who tries to professionally deal with a demanding boss. This is more like a grumpy sunshine romance. Julie lets Ivan know that she feels unappreciated and it’s the first time that emotions get under his all business veneer. They both cross the line of professionalism and Ivan proposes…sort of. lol 😝 It’s more of a negotiation for her to marry him and eventually provide him an heir. That word should have been a clue to her - “heir”.
The only males that talk that way belong to 17th-18th century nobility or organized crime leaders.
It doesn’t take long for Ivan to warm up to his wife and they both find a depth to this business exchange. There’s always a bad guy or two to thwart their HEA. The only thing that aggravated me about Julie was that she couldn’t see the obvious bait from a figure from her past that put her in more danger. So, this story lost a star ⭐️ for its predictability. It’s still an enjoyable read.

He found much more than he ever thought possible. 

Julie Goodacre is the personal assistant to Ivan Stepanow. She can appreciate his extremely good looks, but he's still a PITA of the highest degree. 

Her plan was to work for Ivan for two more years and then quit to open Goodacre Cares, a non-profit in honor of her mother, to help victims of domestic violence. She didn't want her mother's death at the hands of her father to have been in vain. Cutting out of work early after a terrible day may have just cost her her job. 

Ivan Stepanow is a financial genius. When he receives a text from Julie, obviously sent in error, he shows up on her doorstep. What he hears through the door makes him break his usual rules. He even worries that he may have broken her. 

He wants an heir, and he wants her to be his wife and mother of his children. In exchange, he will fund her non-profit. Once the child or children are grown, he'll even grant her a divorce, if she wants one. But then his past rears its ugly head. Does he truly have a clean break with his past? Will his past harm Julie, the woman he's fallen in love with?

Steamy & Suspenseful

Ivan has a dark secret that he's left behind years ago. After his assistant, Julie, sends a blunt comment describing him, thinking this text message was sent to her aunt Barb but ends up in Ivan's phone message, he drops by to prove he's better than her 'toy'. Julie has worked for him & has met his demands in the office. Now he wants to have her as his wife & to provide him with a child so his company will be passed down to them. An outrageous idea but she's always had a crush on him & agrees to marry him. Julie doesn't tolerate a non-emotional relationship & continues to pressure him to spend more time with her instead of his company. While learning about each other's quirks & backgrounds, their romance blossoms, past secrets have entered into their lives & the suspense increases, the dangerous situations are heightened, endangering their fragile new love.

I have chosen to read my first K.C. Crowne novel & have been surprised on how well this story turned out. I really liked how the story flowed & the emotional ride you're taken on while reading. A good page-turner type of novel. Worth reading this one!

Never underestimate a mother.
Fantastic. Julie accidentally sends a text to her infuriating but, very hot boss. Saying exactly that. After taking an extremely relaxing bath she finds said boss at her door and he has no problem informing her of her mistake. When he finally leaves Julie doesn’t know if she can show her face at work the next day. Ivan knows that he crossed a line by going to her apartment but, he doesn’t regret it and hopes Julie won’t, either. Julie gets a notification on their office calendar to meet with Ivan before the day starts. Oh, boy. She knows that she’s fired. Although what he “proposes” is as complicated as having to look for a new job. Marry him and give an heir to businesses. Ivan will fund the start up of her charity foundation in exchange. After thinking about it Julie agrees and they have a tropical paradise honeymoon. Reality slams Ivan in the face when his past resurfaces putting a target on Julie. Julie’s own past comes slinking back and puts her life in even further danger. Julie is kidnapped by the people trying to get Ivan to do what they want. It doesn’t look good for her and Ivan doesn’t know about the baby, yet.

Tl;Dr - Julie’s boss is annoying, but also sexy. The stars align and now she is his wife (and baby maker). The boss, Ivan, was involved with the Bratva years ago, and now they’re calling on him for “one last job”? I don’t know.

Ivan: A shitty boss, but a great husband, allegedly.

Julie: She’s a fucking doormat. And stupid. Her convicted felon dad calls her and she picks up the phone??? WHY?

My Thoughts

I don’t feel like I know or understand the principal characters. That’s a big issue. The interactions between Ivan and Julie felt very shallow and never ventured into more emotional territory, at least on the page. The decisions and their motivations became incomprehensible and… utterly boring. What happened to Julie’s mom? I don’t know. What did the Bratva want Ivan to do? I don’t know. Do Ivan or Julie have any friends? Seems unlikely.

I wanted to DNF at 80% but I was brave. So brave.

The book ENDED at 88%. Thank god.

Her Life Changing Agreement -
Julie may have been overwhelmed when her grumpy boss asked her to enter into a marriage of convenience and give him an heir, but she decided to accept after considering the terms which would make her dreams come true. However, Julie didn’t expect to fall in love with Ivan as they spent time together. Unfortunately, just as they acknowledged their feelings for each other, someone from Ivan’s past decided to wreak havoc on their lives.

Even though Ivan tried to resolve the matter without violence, Julie found herself in the middle of the conflict, where she nearly lost her life. Luckily, Ivan was also to rescue Julie with the help of the authorities and also received the unexpected life changing happy news. This was a wonderful,y entertaining story, with an action-packed storyline and magnetic steamy attraction, that had me totally engrossed and unable to take a break until I finished it. This book was a fantastic read, that I enjoyed reading and will be happy to recommend.

Definitivamente no fue lo que esperaba. Fue demasiado predecible, demasiado chicle, demasiado machista. No me pude sentir atraída por un hombre tan arcaico como el protagonista. Empece el libro en enero y recién lo he terminado en julio, no por que no lea rápido sino porque literal me aburrió demasiado y era como una tarea terminarlo porque no me gusta dejar libros inconclusos sin embargo ahora que ya lo acabe, genuinamente desearía haberlo dejado en el 20% cuando me di cuenta que ya no podía seguir leyendo más y no haber perdido tanto tiempo de mi vida.

Habían muchas fallas en el libro como mencionar que un personaje estaba tomando un café y en el siguiente párrafo estaba tomando un vaso de whiskey. Al final del libro te regalan un extracto de otro libro y me pasó lo mismo, encontré varias fallas. Por ejemplo en el ese libro la protagonista dice que su papá siempre la solía golpear y en el siguiente párrafo dice que solo lo ha hecho 2 veces en toda su vida e incluso las describe entonces no tiene sentido. Si de por sí me costaba trabajo engancharme con el libro, pues me resultó peor con ese tipo de errores.

Working for Ivan Stepanov is challenging to say the least, even though the man is sexy and total eye candy. Julie tries to send a text message to her aunt to vent about her situation. She accidently sends it to Ivan. This leads to a night of passion with the man and an offer of a marriage of convenience. Ivan wants a wife and a mother for his heir. He's offering her funding for the charity she has always envisioned. He doesn't offer love.

Things don't always go as planned. Ivan's former association with the bratva throws complications into the situation, as does the couple's growing feelings for each other.

I liked this book. Julie is a smart, capable, determined woman. She enters the marriage with pragmatism, knowing it will give her the means to fulfill her dream. Ivan is forced to face the consequences of his choices and has the wisdom to adapt to the changing circumstances. There is respect between Julie and Ivan, growing love, and plenty of steam.

I like a good K.C. Crowne romance. Unfortunately, this isn’t one. The romance plot is very thin, with the business of the Bratva completely overshadowing it until we don’t get any emotion or growth. The zexytime scenes are almost laughable, alternating between modern earthiness and purple prose better suited to a historical romance from c. 1986. The words “manhood” and “womanhood” stopped being commonly used for a reason. The lack of connection makes this book suffer. Oh, it’s not horrible, and it’s certainly readable. But it’s also average and uninspired.
