To say much in very few words can be a challenge, but flash fiction gives authors a chance to show their voice, their writing style, and their passion for the stories they write.
Flashed, the anthology, gives you six authors and a lot of smoldering hot flash fiction. In it, Kiki Howell is thrilled to be joined by five authors who she loves to read. And so, she invites you to experience what she loves about each author: Jennifer Labelle’s emotional writing, Sommer Marsden’s gritty and sexy style, Cassandre Dayne’s scorching hot intensity, Emma Hillman’s sassy heroines, and Abby Hayes wild child ways, along with her own paranormal and erotic romance in this anthology.
The combination is flirty, fun & deliciously explicit.
Ever since she was young, Kiki Howell has loved to listen to a well-woven tale with real characters, inspired plots, and delightful resolutions. Kiki could spend hours lost in a book, and soon she knew that creating lives, loves, and losses with just words had to be the greatest thing that she could do. To that end, she pursued her study of literature and writing, earning a bachelor’s degree in English from Kent State University. “After a long break having my boys, I finally just had to write again. And, as soon as I gave the stories the space, they entered it. It’s both awesome and humbling to find the words in my mind become characters on a page and create their lives.” Kiki is a multi-published author residing in Northeast Ohio with her incredibly handsome and talented, singer/songwriter husband and two children.
Love this book --- it's nice to have a book that you can read a whole story while waiting in line at the store.....by far the best book I had read so far this year.... Kudos to the authors .... Very well done
Sexy, fun shorts that give you a great idea of each authors writing styles and leave you wanted more of their works. I enjoyed each and everyone of them, but I do have a favorite and that is 5 Golden Rings. It was sexy, sweet, endearing and had a very happy ending. I recommend Flashed to any and all that are curious about the authors or are looking for some new ones.
Overall nicely written. However I was so disappointed in the "Flashed" format. Each short story is very very short (sometimes only 1 page). I was left wanting for every short story and for some of them I had not even felt the beginning of a start of something to be wanted before it was over.
I wish I could have given it 0 stars honestly. While I like short stories, these couldn't even be considered that! A couple of the "stories" had the makings for something good, but being what they were... Some where as short as blurbs, but unlike some of the HOT blurbs I've read, this just made me almost wish this were a paperback book so that I could burn it! I just can't honestly say anything good about it at all.
I'm not a lover of flash fiction as I either think the storys are too short or I want more from the story. I liked 3 storys and the rest were not very good.
