The definitive chronicle of the Michigan Wolverines' 2023 championship season In Michigan vs. Everybody, The Detroit News' Angelique Chengelis expertly retraces an unforgettable championship season. Featuring in-depth reporting and an unforgettable cast of characters including Jim Harbaugh, J.J. McCarthy, Roman Wilson, and Junior Colson, this is the story of how the Wolverines rallied together amid adversity, silenced their critics, and returned championship glory to Ann Arbor.
As a Michigan fan, this was really fun to go back and re-live this 2023 season one year later. It was great to get the sense of what a real championship team accomplishes, unlike the newly minted "champions." To win every game when everyone wanted them to lose is the essence of a championship team. I did hope that Chengelis would have a little more insiders perspective to give in this book but it was still a really fun read and a great way to remember this team. Go Blue!
Very well written, “Michigan vs. Everybody” delves into the 2023 Michigan Wolverines that won the National Championship. Totally pro-Michigan, the author does not delve too much into the scandals that followed coach Jim Harbaugh throughout the season. They were impossible to completely ignore and written from the “us versus the world” perspective. Definitely worth the time and a good window into Harbaugh and his techniques and ability to motivate his team.
Loved revisiting the 2023 championship season and reliving all the great moments and amazing players that were a part of it. I wish it had gone a little deeper and told more insider stories like the books by John U Bacon, but I suppose this author probably doesn't have the access that he was given for his books. Overall it was a good recap of a great season.
Not a definitive chronicle. The book is dominated by telling the read ad nauseum how it was Michigan vs everyone else, a band of brothers who loved and supported each other etc etc - and saying it over and over and over. Ok, we get it! Meanwhile, the book is short on the facts like some of the key plays in key games. Boring.
