If you love vampires you absolutely will adore this!!
Although it is pretty cliche I still really really enjoyed reading this story. They're both so hot and their chemistry is cute. I honestly really want this author to make a second Vol so we can see a continuation of their lives as vampires together.
But nevertheless this story had everything from smut and steam to even action, what I definitely didn’t see coming! It was out outbalanced pretty well (a lot of smut tho but who would complain about it?!)

2025 reads: 236/300

after attempting to intervene in what he thought was a mugging, haru becomes mortally wounded. however, he wakes up not too long after…to realize his life was saved by the vampire akihito, and that his turning will soon follow. in the time it takes to transform, though, haru is vulnerable prey for other vampires. aki vows to keep him safe, and the two begin to fall for each other.

i loved this for a quick, vampiric read. the vampire system was pretty neat, as there were different classes based on the strength of the vampire who turned them (example: a vampire turned by a “pureblood” would be a “half-blood”). then, there was the whole “tank” concept. haru became a “tank” when aki turned him, and his blood was pretty irresistible to vampires, including aki. i liked how this set them up for close proximity and for a bodyguard/vulnerable person dynamic. this was such a great romance, and i’d be interested in reading more from seno yanase!

This was pretty fun, a classic vampire story with a bit of a different take on the vampire. Honestly I wish this would've been a whole series as not only is the whole vampire system really interesting but it's set in this near future which I wish we got to explore more. Haru and Aki are both decent characters though the length of the story doesn't provide much space for character depth. Still, the art was beautiful and the story was fast-paced and fun.

3.5 they’re too cute and the art is literally chef’s kiss (I wish I had the same haircut as the blonde guy tho)

I wish this were a series. Very entertaining and good worldbuilding for a one-shot, but the romance, of course, was rushed.

This just felt very rushed and it was hard for me to believe the characters were in love. Would have loved more emotional development

For the first couple chapters, I thought this was going to be great. The art and character designs are lovely, and Haru is such an engaging, empathetic, interesting person. (His physical appearance and gentle, caring personality kept reminding me of Haruki from Given, which is funny considering that his vampire boyfriend is named Akihito. All close enough to be coincidental, I guess.)

The setup is a pretty traditional one, but there were a few interesting elements. The setting, for one: we're in 2096, in a future where people prioritize "freedom" over things like responsibility to one's family. That was sort of an odd note, and I wasn't sure where the worldbuilding was going to take that, but...it didn't go anywhere. Other than Haru being an orphan with no siblings or extended family - something that's apparently quite common in the modern human world - and the "suburbs" being poverty-stricken, crime-riddled areas, with everyone clustering around the stations...nothing else was relevant in setting this so far into the future.

Haru works in a clothing shop in a mall, where everyone seems to be going about their lives in pretty much the same way as any other manga set in any other modern time period. And we learn basically nothing else about the outside world...and barely see any other people, either.

In the opening scene, Haru is locking up the store and happens to run into an extremely handsome guy. The fact that he notices and comments (internally) on this, plus all his interactions with Akihito for the next couple chapters, make it pretty clear that Haru is gay. Except...he's not? More on that later.

When he's biking home, he sees Akihito again, along with a suspicious-looking guy who seems to be shadowing him. So Haru, being a selfless person, tries to intervene...and gets slashed apart and nearly killed as a result. The only thing that saves him is Akihito deciding to bite him to turn him into a vampire.

Except in this world, you don't become a vampire immediately. You start out as a "tank" - you're still a human, but with vampire healing properties, so you're a too-tempting endless well of guilt-free blood for all the vampires around you. No one knows exactly how long it'll take any particular tank to fully transition into a vampire, so Akihito vows to take care of Haru until that happens - keeping him safe from the other vampires.

There are a couple of side vampire characters who were pretty fun, and I enjoyed Haru's playful sibling-type dynamic with them, but we otherwise don't really get to see much of the vampire community, either. Instead, after one incident where he accidentally cuts himself on some glass and several of the others bite him, Akihito flips out, possessively bites him too, and then has sex with him. (He doesn't "go all the way," stopping after Haru gets overwhelmed and passes out, but I also don't agree with setting levels that quality as "real sex." Akihito jerked him off and had his fingers inside him - while Haru was saying "No, stop," so it was quite enough.)

This was in chapter 3. So yes, it was way too fast, and shading past dubcon into something uncomfortably near actual assault.

Haru had shown clear interest in Akihito previously, even getting turned on by volunteering to let Akihito suck his blood a little bit (and his finger). So it had been progressing into something that very much could've been a mutual choice in their relationship development.

But at no point does he actually consent in this scenario, and it takes an unfortunate older-school BL turn with Haru suddenly apparently having never thought of being with a man before? Since...when? Why was he making such a point of being visibly attracted to Akihito the entire time, from their very first, pre-bite encounter? Suddenly he's the blushy "never been attracted to a man before" character, which is honestly just kind of dull and pointless.

This whole scene was very obviously set up to be the Sexy Vampire Stuff, but it didn't work at all for me at this point in the story.

Then we get what could've been some decent angst, with Haru realizing that Akihito is possessive of and attached to him because he'd sired him - the first time he's ever bitten and turned a human. Haru had been thinking he was genuinely special to Akihito, but it's all instincts and a temporary dynamic that will fade away once Haru becomes just like any other vampire.

I liked that complication in their relationship and let the previous scene go...it was an unexpected loss of control for Akihito, since he's never been a vampire sire before, so they'll work through things and get closer together and show that their relationship has a stronger, more lasting foundation...

...but we don't get any of that.

Haru goes back to work, since it's very boring being a human who's just sitting around for months waiting to become a vampire. (What do the vampires do? They drink vials of blood and eat regular food and have clothing and stuff, so they must do something other than sit around in an abandoned building all day. Maybe they have jobs? But we never find out any of that.)

He runs into a handsome priest in the clothing store, who seems very fishy but whom Haru trusts anyway, because he has some tempting ideas of turning tanks back into humans. Haru isn't sure if he wants to stop his transition - it's not like he had much to live for in his human life anyway - but he wants to do something to help other unwillingly bitten humans in the future.

Except, of course, it turns out the fishy priest was super fishy, and he gets Haru into his creepy abandoned church and then starts sucking his blood.

Which, incidentally...has no aphrodisiac effect at all. This was the excuse used for the sex scene earlier - since Akihito got impulsive and bit Haru, it was then a sex pollen scenario where they had to have sex to deal with the effects. I don't know if this is supposed to be related to him being a half-vampire - more pure-blooded than any of the modern diluted vampires - but it wasn't explained that way.

Akihito feels his sire senses pinging, shows up to rescue Haru, tells him he loves him (??), which Haru accepts without further questioning whether this is all still just vampire instinct stuff.

Look, I like them. They are very attractive, both individually and together. I wanted to see them fall in love. But they didn't fall in love! They barely even talk! What do they like about each other?

Then there was a sudden weird transition where Haru stops Akihito from outright killing the vampire priest, and then at the start of the next chapter, they're continuing the same conversation, with Akihito checking Haru over for injuries, and then they start having sex...and it was so abruptly squeezed in that it took me a little while to realize they weren't just straight up doing it in the church with the priest dude still lying on the floor next to them.

Pretty art, really nice character design, some story elements that could've been super interesting, but none of it came to fruition. Disappointing because I really loved Haru as a character and would've liked to have seen him in a better story.

After Haru Kosaka saves Akihito on accident, the vampire boss turns him into a vampire in order to save his life. He bites him, there's some dubious consent with a vampire bite being sex pollen. A vampire pretends to be a priest and Haru gets tricked! I know that this is a short story book, but there's no real connection between these characters and their profession of love just seemed far-fetched. A good read for blood kink people I suppose. It had a nice ending but I won’t be rereading it.

“it's hard to tell what people would rather protect, life or rights” ominous one off line.

“The freedom to not have to raise your kids.” I wish this book was more deep, these lines are great.

The story was simple, but nice. The art is also quite pretty, tho don't expect any complicated backgrounds. There is some miscommunication, but nothing extremely frustrating.

vampires yes sign me up

This was an enjoyable brief read. Vampires with 'Tanks' as a new concepts for me in this universe, which was rather interesting to learn about. I gave it a four-star rating since one of the MCs made me feel a little annoyed( he is very gullible), but nothing to be outraged about. Overall, a pleasant little story about vampire to read, with pretty art and spice.

Haru life was saved by a vampire with one small drawback. He became a vampire, so while he waits to transformation, it takes time, so akihito promises him that he will keep him safe and haru adjusted to his new life.

Haru Kosaka is a regular guy, but while attempting to stop a potential stalking/beating he stumbles upon something he doesn't quite understand and ends up being hurt instead. He's saved by a man called Akihito, who claims to be a vampire!

Akihito is an ancient vampire, the leader of a ragtag group of vampires, and in saving Kosaka's life, he inadvertently creates his first Tank: a human he's turned into a vampire.

The story is super cute, with a lot of potential for more, and a detailed world build around the concept of human rights evolving. The year is 2096, and humans have adapted to a less caring community, so the number of orphans is HIGH. Society has potentially lost it's humanity, but the story also deals with war, PTSD, abandonment, and the concept of vampires hiding in the shadows.

The artwork is gorgeous. I would have liked more story, or at least more exploration of 'romance' between Akihito and Kosaka, because it all came across a bit like obsession, insta-love and a lot of duty/responsibility bred by the fact that Akihito turned Kosaka.

Right now it's billed as a solo, but I'm hoping there might be another volume in the future?

Akihito thinks he sees Haiku being attacked and in an attempt to save the kids life, he bites him.He then takes Haiku to his den in an old derilick buiding where he stays himself and has a small group that lives with him. He hopes that he can keep Haiku with him and therefore safe, while he is a "tank" which is a living human that is about to convert over to vampire state.

Haiku keps trying to pull back so that he is not tke more from Akihito, but Akihito keeps stayng near. He allows Haiku to go to work back at the mall where he worked but that ends up attracting a Priest that turns out to be something unexpected and is a real threat.

We know, as readers that the two are getttingcloser and closer and more involved gradually until finally they have to move up with their relationship.

Recommended to those who like vampires and especially gay vampires. Although I must say that some of these vampires look awfully feminine although it could just singnify that they are young.

I didn’t think it would be cute but it was! Well certain parts were. 😅 We get Haru, a shop worker who tries to save someone and ends up getting practically killed. The next day he awakens to the person he saved, well and a vampire in transition! Akihito has turned him and that’s where the relationship begins. Haru, already in love with Aki, acts like his normal cute self and Aki falls in love without realizing it. There’s not a big complication or battle but we get Aki’s attacker basically trick Haru to kill him. Aki saves Haru and then they have some bonding time. 😏 It ends well for the both of them and was a pretty fun one shot reading.

3.5⭐️

As far as I know this is a stand alone/one off. I think this book has its cute moments, our MC was a cutie patootie and if you want a cozier vibes I think this works because our MC was so chill about all this vampire stuff so it wasn’t very angsty. I think the author tried to smooch too much world building into a stand alone. They should have just stuck to the well know vampire lore that everyone knows so no world building is really needed. The smut was ok ish. Overall a quick fun time but nothing worth swooning over.

This was okay I guess. The art was cute and I think if this was a series the relationship might have been cute but this felt so rushed that to me the relationship came of more like possible Stockholm syndrome. I also seen some comments talking about how they liked that it was a consensual couple but the first scene between them Haru is basically drugged by Akis saliva against his will ssoooo...

A captivating mix of romance, spice and a sprinkle of vampire lore. Haru survives a violent encounter and finds himself transformed into a vampire by Akihito. It’s one of those Oneshots you wish you could have a full series of.

Overall thoughts
This is a oneshot, so the pacing is running at full throttle. Although a minor detail or two could’ve benefitted from more context, this was pretty much textbook. The foreshadowing was done maybe a little too well because I saw most of the plot coming from a mile away. But it didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the story!

This manga doesn’t have a single page of ads. It’s all content, save for the credits and the index. I LOVED this story. I was hooked since I saw the cover and that final chapter felt so bittersweet. Because on one hand, I was overjoyed at what I was reading. On the other, I was crying on the inside because the story was almost over.

Who is this manga for
Fans of vampire stories looking for a sweet and heavy dose of romance in their plots will likely enjoy this one!

I really enjoy vampire stories, and this one did not disappoint. It combines alot of the different vampire lore, and came up with a really good story! I would honestly like to see more of this, but in the same breath, it ended on a really good note.

Good story. Kinda rushed but still pretty good. The characters are great and entertaining. I love vampires and this was definitely worth reading. Little spicy scenes at the end of the book that add some fun.

The art is pretty and I like the main characters, but this takes place over a few days, basically, so I have a really hard time believing any feelings NOT tied to the bond between them as sire and tank/vampire-to-be had time to develop. It's a cute one-shot, but really rushed because of it.

Cute little vampire romance one-shot. Not overly angsty which was refreshing for this genre. It was a little light on the smut too. I think this needed another chapter or two for pacing and a little bit more character development but honestly it was an enjoyable read.

I actually would have preferred this be two or three parts. I liked some of the side characters and I wasn't invested enough in the main relationship because the plot moved along so quickly.
