She toils behind the scenes to keep those on the frontlines safe. But she might be the one in danger… England, 1941.
When a sudden reassignment gives Lily Baker only three days to report to mysterious Bletchley Park, she’s confused but excitedly answers duty’s call.
Learning the reputed madhouse is actually the clandestine home of Allied codebreakers, Lily walks a fine line between guarding British secrets and protecting her heart.
But when she overhears that a spy could be hidden among the eclectic mix of codebreakers, she is determined to uncover which of her new friends is the traitor.
Can she track down the mole before more innocent lives are lost?
The gripping fifth book in The Lily Baker Series. If you like compelling casts of characters, high-stakes intrigue, and budding romance, then you’ll love this page-turning tale.
The Bletchley Park Girls (Lily Baker # 4) by Patricia A McBride. (Audiobook read on Hoopla app)
Lily and her friend and roommate Bronwyn are sudden told to pack their bags and head to the mysterious Bletchley Park for their new assignment. They’re an interesting landlady, boring clerical work and a lively group of new friends and adventures await. Not my favorite book in the series but it’s ok.
Lovely story from start to finish, another book I couldn't put down Your a Beautiful writer just love reading your books, now I wonder what we happens to Lily on her next adventure can't wait.
I really enjoyed this book, and more especially so as I went to Bletchley Park a few months ago. I love reading books about what went on there during WWII. Some of the secret work done the is mentioned but not in a great deal of detail. Lily and her friends seem to go from one adventure to the next, which often puts them in danger. This book has less grammar and spelling mistakes than the previous ones in this series which was good and more enjoyable to read. I look forwarded the next book and to see what is in store for Lily and Bronwyn. I hope some of the other characters are still there as they blend well together. As the next book is the bend of this series I hope there us a happy ending for Lily and her friends.
I have enjoyed every single book in this series. Each book can be a stand-alone but has a greater depth when read in order. I really love to read books from the WWII era that portray women in the struggles they experienced.
Lily Baker, the main character, joined the war effort in England, her home country. She makes friends and suffers through some terrible circumstances and happy times. The stories all contain intrigue and I’m always anxious to see how it works out.
I can’t wait to read the next book. The characters all have depth and strength and the plots are compelling. I highly recommend this entire series.
I finished this one so now have read all 5 books I did find that they said about going to Paris & I thought they were suppose to keep quiet about it all Bronwyn was posted with Lily to Bletchley Park You could guess who the spy is but it a good read I will say at the end it says about another book " Christmas at Bletchley Park" so that is one to look forward to I can highly recomment the series
I enjoyed the book although it does annoy when there are mistakes that have not been picked up! Also the ending was very abrupt and unexpected which is why it didn't warrant the fifth star.
What can I say book 5 is gripping .. in The way that I could not put it down ( in my case turn off ) .. love the characters .. any their own little story’s that make the girl’s likeable.. and how they all come together .. can’t wait for the next book x
I enjoyed the story about the three girls at Bletchley a bit disappointed at the abrupt ending and typo error. Hope there is a follow up feel there is more to this story.
