Like, NOTHING happened in this one. We get graduation day, the after party and her FIRST day of work, that’s IT. All of the characters are brought together and we meet two new ones. The end.

3, it took us HOW long to get THAT little bit, stars.

Probably my first disappointing entry in this series that I love so much, but I think that's mainly because this is such a transitional nothing entry. Catarina and friends graduate from magic school, and start "grown up" jobs at the Bureau of Magic.

The way Catarina is oblivious to literally everyone, including all her girlfriends, being in love with her continues to be hilarious. I just wish the story treated her as more aware and more...mature? I guess? That scene with Keith trying to prove some kind of point to her about her obliviousness in his bedroom was gross and it felt like she was being treated like a literal child in her ignorance.

And OF COURSE there's a sequel to the original otome game to keep us moving forward, except this time Catarina has no idea what's to come, only a possible death outcome this time. Onward!

Czy Catarinie uda się skończyć Akademie Magii?

Obstawiam, że rok przerwy między jednym tomem a kolejnym nie służy tej serii. Podobał mi się sposób, w którym ukazują nowe problemy, szkoda mi tylko Catariny moglibyście dać jej odpocząć, ale w takiej wersji ją najbardziej lubię. Cieszę się, że to potoczyło się w tą stronę. Niestety tak jak w przypadku tomu 8, niektóre sceny potrzebowały większego rozwinięcia inne mogły zniknąć, ale i tak podobają mi się.

Nie mogę się doczekać aż zobaczę Catarinę w tej nowej odsłonie.

Bardzo ale to bardzo mnie to boli, jak pytam się jak mogło do tego dojść ????!!
Ta seria była tak wspaniała, argument, postacie (niektóre były wkurzające fakt) A teraz z każdym nowym tomem (a czekamy na niego rok) coraz bardziej historia staje się płytka. Nie ma tego magicznego czegoś co zawsze pojawiało się w któryś momencie.
Niestety zostanę przy Light Novel, mangę osobiście nie chcę już ruszać może kiedyś się to zmieni.

Summary:

You know how the story goes. A high school girl wakes up to a new life – quite literally, for she's been reborn as Catarina Claes, a villainess and spoiled daughter of a duke. In other words, a big pain in the butt.

With graduation on the horizon, Catarina finally feels safe. She successfully avoided all her doom flags, and since she lived beyond the timeline of the game, that means she's safe...right? Oh wait, there's something else going on here.

Eee! I'm so happy to finally have My Next Life as a Villainess Vol. 9! I feel like I've been waiting forever for the next volume in this series (in reality, it hasn't been all that long – a year at most). I love that this series is continuing. Does this mean we'll (eventually) get a new season for the anime?

So, I was wondering how My Next Life as a Villainess would continue post-graduation, and now I have my answer! The reason is not that dissimilar to how the spin-off game did things. It works—though I can see fans loving or hating it.

Since this volume is essentially kicking off a spin-off without using that terminology, there's a whole new cast of characters to learn (in addition to our favorites). I don't have a good feel for them yet, so I'll have to wait a bit before commenting on them. I hope the following volumes will focus on each of them individually.

I can't wait to see where My Next Life as a Villainess goes! (And yes, I know I need to continue reading the light novels, as that will probably get me beyond this point. I'm working on it).

I don't know the overall direction of the series (well I sort of can guess) but some things aren't adding up for me. There seemed to be a big push for the Bureau of Magic, but it really felt like it was there just to fill a few pages and really didn't seem to go anywhere. Some characters may be being foreshadowed for future work...but some seem like they were created and then forgotten like Launch was in Dragon Ball Z after being in Dragon Ball. Confessions have been made, but in that regard, it feels like I am reading Ranma 1/2 because those relationships don't appear they will be moving anywhere anytime soon. Still, entertaining romp as usual.

So Katarina has successfully made it to graduation and avoided all the foretold doom originally planned for the otome game version of herself by... accidentally successfully romancing ALL the NPCs, even if she's completely oblivious to how anyone truly feels.

But what do you do when you technically "win the game"? PLAY THE SEQUEL! That's right, new (continued) story, new (romanceable) NPCs, new (villainess) DOOM!

All new, all different: doom flags! We don't know what those doom flags are specifically, but Katarina is the villainess again in Fortune Lover 2. Katarina also comes (a little) closer to realizing others like her romantically. Fun as always. I'm looking forward to things developing in both these directions.
