Anchored: A Tale of Broken Souls

Piston and Brave!!!
Piston is the owner of a medical supply company. Brave meets him when he begins delivering medicine to her parent's home. Piston was intrigued at the very first meeting but Brave was too busy being a fixer of everybody else's problems to want to develop a relationship with Piston. Piston was persistent and I loved that about him. Brave got on my nerves trying to friend zone this good man but she eventually came around. This is definitely a different type of romance story. I loved the educational aspect that was included in the book. We are given a look at what Black women have to go through regarding our health and what we go through as a race. There were so many enlightening conversations that were a part of the story. The conversations between Brave and her sister friends showed how friends are supposed to support each other as well as call you out which was so realistic. I loved that Piston and Brave laid out what they needed from one another. I highly recommend this book.

Life!!
I gave this rating because the author did a great job creating a story dealing with life issues. The characters were great and she brought awareness to a lot of issues in the black and brown community.
It made me look at how I deal with people and their issues and it was a great reminder of sometimes not knowing what people are going through before jumping to conclusions. 😏

Anchored In Love
Piston was a man on a mission, to capture Brave’s heart. Brave was her own worst enemy but Piston and her mom were trying to show her you can’t be everything to everybody! Just be you! I felt Brave because sometimes that is me. It is a lesson you have to learn. Just be yourself, those who love you will be there with you.

Loved this book!!
I loved this book bc it felt like Crystal was peeking into my life. Just like Brave, I was frequently triggered while reading this book and had to stop frequently to process the issues presented. This book left me feeling exposed, then seen & heard, and finally optimistic. It was a ride, yet one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

A beautiful short book by Crystal Collier regarding relationships, betrayal and lust, but in the in love won out. I will recommend this book for others to read!

Great read
This book was so good I’m glad Piston never gave up on Brave.The traumas, love and healing was so heart felt. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
