Disrupted Reality: A dark science fiction novella of interdimensional slavers

Rate this book
A dark supernatural prequel novella of interdimensional alien slavers harvesting humans across a dimensional divide since the Middle Ages, and plotters preparing revolution under a tyrant's nose. Alien-occupation fantasy grounded in unsettling what-if realism.

Aliens are all around us.
They have been for centuries.
...And they are not benign.

Taxore, another dimension, linked to Earth since the Middle Ages through pirates preying on humans.
Aliens harvested slaves and brought them back to their dimension to work till they died.

The process had flaws. Major ones.
Too many of the harvested slaves died during transportation, their human bodies frail in the Taxorian atmosphere. Until three visionaries discovered the solution when they found an unexpected ally in one of their harvested slaves.

But that was not their only worry. Hated by their tyrannical ruler, they plot a revolution.

This novelle is the pre-quell to the “Dominion” series
A tale that will blow your socks off. “Fantasy that is so close to reality you will end up asking what if…….?”

This book is written in British English and follows British spelling, grammar and usage conventions.

🔥💀🛸Very dark and action-packed.

There was blood everywhere, red and purple.

The raid was going very badly.
The Taxorian aliens had the advantage, but the humans defended themselves rather well...

The alien Can-Tan was trying to spot his comrades Arand and Jainik in the battle...

-------------

I personally really liked the little prologue that began the novel, told from the point of view of the main character.

Then the tone changed, the novel moved to the 3rd person, which made the main character of Cal-Tan rather detestable in my eyes.

The plot is very original but ultra dark.
The novel is a fairly quick read.

I recommend for fans of new, very dark science fiction and a cruel and merciless main character.
For me this prequel didn't make me want to read the sequel at all because of the main character...

Fantastic beginning story.

It was great to learn about the history of these worlds and characters. It was so easy to bring this to the future. What a terrible thing to reincarnate as a slave! Gabe certainly didn't have the best upbringing. I wonder what the war will accomplish? Who will win? Can humanity really beat these aliens... Even with help!

This prequel was a wild ride and does a good job of introducing the first world and set up everything for the series. Does a good job of introducing evil and I found it entertaining and had me shaking my head at their plans.

This is a prequel novella to the Dominion Series, and this book fills in many historical facts we did not know before. It deals with the life of Cal-Tan a son of a tyrannical father, who was the head of a piracy and slavery enterprise, and who he feared and hated. So much so that he laid down his plans to get him killed. Patricide was very common among this alien people, however once he took over from his father he became worse than him. Power and greed where foremost in his mind and he led through fear, so much so that he abused his sons and they hated him in turn. The slaves they captured and traded were mainly humans from the 12th dimension which is Earth, however other creatures were also traded and captured from other dimensions. In this dimension they discovered that humans believed in religion, something unknown to these immortal beings who knew how to keep reincarnating. They captured religious fanatics and used them to cause strife between the three main religions, as well as within each religion, as those they used turned against their own. However Gabriel the middle son of Cal-Tan was not happy with the set up, and now that he was sent on a quest to Earth to capture a priest to answer to the Establishment, in a dimension which he loved, he might find the chance to finally escape from a family he hated. To get to know Gabriel's story we have to read book 1 in the Dominion Series. I loved this book and found it very different to what I had anticipated and this in a very good way!
