Closer to God: A 40-Day Pursuit of God's Personal Presence

Rate this book
To experience profound intimacy with God, intentionality is required. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us--shaping us into the likeness of Jesus--but we play a role in enjoying a deeper and more vibrant life in Christ by staying in step with the Spirit.Perhaps one of the most compelling attributes of this book is the way Cunnion helps you see how repentance and obedience, two words that often get a bad rap, are utterly life-giving and freedom-bringing. Rooted in the gospel, she leads you on a journey of· practicing repentance that leads to refreshment of your soul· pursuing holiness that leads to a freedom you never imagined possible· cultivating intimacy with the Holy Spirit and enjoying the beauty of His presenceWith personal, and often humorous, anecdotes and biblical insights, Closer to God offers a guide to embracing intimacy with God from a place where the hunger for more of God is met through the beauty of obedience, holiness, and unity. You will be ignited with a desire to live a life worthy of the call as you pursue a deeper, transformative relationship with Him.

This was an excellent devotional book. Each chapter builds on the previous one. There is space for reflection at the end of each chapter. It was very well written and focuses in on repentance and the Holy Spirit. This is one I will use again!
