Hello!
Thank you for stopping by.
The short story is I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I was 16, my family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and that is where I met my wife, Bev.
We've been married for 43 years and share our home in Southwest Missouri with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 8 chickens, a herd of goats. We have 3 sons and 12 grandchildren that keep us hopping.
I've been known to ride my motorcycle in nice weather, play golf in nice weather, and tend my garden in nice weather. In bad weather, I prefer to stay inside. :)
Thanks to the support of you, our readers, I've been able to devote full time to my writing. Bev does our cover designs.
We hope you our books are enjoyable and you'll let us know.

God Bless, John & Bev

Riveting!

This one was heart wrenching and extremely emotional. The death of a female officer that rung every possible emotion out of me. The character of Detective Nina Jefferson was one of my favorite people in this series. So to read of her ordeal and subsequent passing was heart breaking. The mark of a truly gifted author is to make the characters come alive, make you think of them as real people and care about them as such. I shed so many tears throughout this book the screen of my Kindle was wet with them. There are police officers in my family which makes these stories veo real.

The drama, investigation and subsequent conclusion was riveting and emotional. And then happy tears as a new life was brought into the world. I am fully invested in this series of police procedurals and the fact they are clean reads. I have read all of the books in The City Homicides and am looking forward to the remaining books in this series.
Kudos to the author..🎉🎉👏👏🌟🌟🌟📚❤

Excellent Book/Series

Jason Strong Series
I have finished the entire series and have nothing but praise for every one of them! It’s wonderful to have an author who doesn’t rely on bad language for “realism” yet peaks interest in both plot and characters. Excellent series; endearing characters; great reads.

I love this series. Jason Strong is a down-to-earth person, a family man and soon to be a dad. At the same time, he's dedicated to the officer's he serves with.

I couldn't put the book down. My interest stayed piqued the entire way through.

It was emotional and full of twists. I thought I had the plot figured out when it took a turn.

Already looking forward to the next book.

Don't want to give any of the story away, so difficult to say too much. Guess you'll just have to trust all the reviews and read it. Off to buy the next in the series.

**Audiobook provided by the author for an honest review**

This installment of Detective Jason Strong was pretty emotional. Det. Strong has a pregnant wife ready to pop at any moment, and is having to look for his missing colleague Nina. Jason's close friend and fellow officer Nina goes missing and when he and his partner Vanessa start investigating her disappearance they discover some pretty cruel and unbelievable information.

Nina was only in a few books up until this point, and not a well known character for me. However, going through what happened to Nina was disturbing, and made me feel helpless, total empathy! I thought the way the story was going was leading me to think of one ending, when in reality the plot twist turned everything upside down! It makes me wonder what I missed in the previous book though...

Narrator Review

James Killavey narrated book six, however he was not always the narrator in this series. James is one of six narrators for the series thus far! OK, now I've heard Rich McVicar, and Paul Heitsch, they were ok, and very good, but James, my word, he was not good. James comes off so clinical, and emotionally detached that his narration takes away from the story telling by A LOT! This book in particular is very intense and emotional, and dude, can you sound sad? Or pissed off? Give the characters something! I listened all the way through because the story is good, but I was struggling big time with James' vocal tone! On a happy thought, James would make a great voice over for a alien documentary special! No joke. He would be great for reciting information, like a report, but not story telling.

Well Written

I like reading a book which will hold my interest from page one to the end. This book did so. Having family in law enforcement I was pleased with how the writer held true to how law enforcement people work together and how many do fake their job seriously. I will read.more of this author's books.

What a ride!

What a ride!

This was my first book by this author. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was really well written. I didn't know it was part of a series. I will go back and read previous books. Great job!! It was not the normal mystery story and it was different.

I received this book from Goodreads Giveaways and the author. Thank you!

This is the first book I have read by Dalglish. It was a quick suspenseful read. I enjoyed the plot and characters. Even though it is part of a series, I didn't feel I had missed out on any previous story lines. I plan to read the rest of the series.

Suspenseful and thrilling

Another great story about Detective Strong and his partner, Vanessa, investigating one of their own in a tragic murder mystery. Plenty of suspense that will surely keep you on edge. I read the whole book in just a few thrilling hours. You won't want to put it down! Enjoy!

Remarkable well written

Okay this book was a little harder to read be cause of the character Nina. While there was a very happy event, it was overshadowed by a sad event. I will admit that I was brought to tears which is very unusual for me while reading a book. This book was still very well written. Enjoy.

Nice Read

Enjoyed the book, a little to predictable but that was ok because it was written in a manner that anyone can read and not be subjected to the profanity and other items that most books seem to think are necessary when their not.

"One of Their Own" is another exciting story in the Detective Strong series. The plot reveals what could be a real life situation and John Dalglish did a wonderful job of showing the emotions of the characters that reflect how I believe real people would react.

Clean and good

Like other books in this series, this one is both clean and a good mystery. A bit harder to guess the end than the others I've read. At least the details; you know the good guy and gal will get their man.

Well written story

A sad but beautifully told story about the love and loyalty among police officers. One that is too often told, of late.

Unfortunate

Not everyone is so lucky to make it out alive, especially when a cop goes bad, and a good cop figures it all out
