Content on focusing on keeping her scholarship, she tries her best to keep her head in the books and not on the pitfalls of college life - parties, drugs and boys. Short but good 3.5 stars.

This is a short book, only 45 pages but it doesn't feel like it. Selena and Heath are both complex characters with interesting pasts, Selena's we know more about, Heaths I assume will be revealed in the next book. The attraction and relationship is built up well so all in all this book is way more than I thought it would be.
Some would argue that this book contains nothing new, mysterious bad boy with a past, a girl with a history very Beautiful Disaster and yes to an extent they would be right but then you have to consider how many truly original books are there out there and I personally like the bad boys with a bit of mystery, so this is a good book for me just a shame it was so short.
Why only 3.5 stars, that's mainly due to the length.
Providing the price is right, since I hate it when authors give the first book out free then rip you off on the rest of the series, so providing the price is right I'll be downloading the next one, I'd like to see where these two are heading.

I shouted “WHAT” so many times reading this short novella.
Obviously, Selena and Heath have secrets and these secrets are alluded to in a way to entice the reader to continue the series. The fact that they’re from the same town makes one wonder if their secrets overlap. But this installment doesn’t end on the typical cliff hanger one is used to with directly connected trilogies.
It’s in need of some serious editing. The euphemisms for genitals are particularly floral and jarring to read in that they throw you out of the story.
There is potential here, but it needs work.

Oh boy… second paragraph and she is doing the look at yourself in the mirror and describe yourself cliché … gah.
I looked deep into my blue eyes, hoping the girl next to me applying rouge to her cheeks couldn’t see the brokenness I held within. (Kindle Locations 19-20).

Wow…

Wait up - she’s waited five years for the first class of college? I’m confused.
She sits with her new room-mate, Candace, whom she met at orientation this week and describes her like this:
Our love of eyeliner and fingernail polish forged a friendship which would outlast the test of time. (Kindle Locations 39-40)

Test of time? Bwahaha - you’ve known her for days. And who said superficial doesn’t last?
His eyes started fires – a fire between my legs. Which hadn’t been extinguished since prom.(Kindle Locations 47-48).

Wow - if the fire hasn’t been extinguished since prom, then its been burning for what is it …five years now… and therefore it has nothing to do with the hot guy who just walked into the lecture theater. I think they meant hadn’t been ignited. If not, it’s thrush and you should get that checked out.
A guy, by the way that she describes in such intricate detail - from his looks, to his workout method ( “bench pressing rusty iron plates” - wtf? Hope his tetanus shot is up to date), to the small scar on his upper lip - that I am amazed she can even see as she is in the front row of the theater and he is hunkered down in the back far corner. Eyes with zoom? In the back of her head?
Then she decides he’d prefer girls who throw up after lunch (are we shaming eating disorders now?) OR he’s gay (sigh). Then her new BFF goes on a weird rant about dating gay guys (worst week of her life)… excuse me? If they are gay men WHY would they be dating her…??? Then she launches into a thought rant about how if he doesn’t love her, even though she’s chubby, she doesn’t need him.
HE JUST WALKED INTO THE ROOM. He doesn’t love your anything!
Wait…why is he alone up the back? You two sat in the front row because there were no other seats.

They are work partners - in the first lecture? And he gives her his phone number, but she says the conversation was ‘weird’ to Candace who then decides he is hungover. Anything else we can whine about?

She has night terrors and wakes up like this:
“Good Morning!” I screamed. (Kindle Location 103)

What? Did she scream that, and if so, why? And it’s 3:47am so it isn’t her room-mate waking her up. Actually, she didn’t even wake up her room-mate with all the screaming.
Now she sees fire eye guy at breakfast (his name is Heath - of course it is) and she steals his headphones for no reason I can understand.

I give up.
Did not finish at 21%
And whatever that guy is doing on the cover… just NO.

Ehhh, this book just didn't do it for me. I mean who uses flowers and pipes to describe the human anatomy??? It was just plain weird. It was a decent story but the working just didn't do anything for me....like at all.

I really wanted to like this story. I really did. But there was no way. It was too confusing, random, badly-written, awkward, rushed, un-explained, too short, and I could go on and on. I was disappointed because it had the potential to go in a very different direction.

Didn't feel any chemistry between the characters. The storyline felt "weak" and nothing really happened.

It's short, which is not a bad thing, but too many things was missing.

Will I recommend: No

Interesting,not satisfying.

I liked this book but need more story line. More of the characters point of view. More of their feelings would be great.
