What happens on vacation doesn’t always stay on vacation.

Noah-

Those five nights with her haunt my dreams. She lingers in my mind, teasing me with memories of what it felt like to be happy.

I thought I could move on. I never expected to see her again, but she’s here with armor around her heart and sass as her weapon.

Suddenly, five nights on a getaway is turning into a lifetime of making sure she doesn’t get away.

Sabrina-

Five nights in paradise was supposed to help me figure out what to do with my life. But I left that island with a broken heart and a secret that is turning my world upside down.

The plan was to move home, catch my breath, and figure out how I was going to deal with my life forever changing.

Simple, right?

That is, until my neighbor turns out to be the man who got me in this situation in the first place.

Control is slipping through my fingers like sand. And it’s only a matter of time until the farmer next door finds out what really happened in paradise.

“Sugar, I’d hand you the keys to my entire life without batting an eye.”

SPOILERS

Noah and Sabrina (Bri) met 3 months ago at a tropical resort and spent their time there together. unfortunately they never told one much about their personal lives and when Noah has to leave in the middle of the night, Bri thinks that’s how he wanted their fling to end. she didn’t notice the note he left behind in her current read 😅

after returning home Bri finds out she’s pregnant with a strangers baby. her life was already changing with just ending an engagement before her vac(that was supposed to be their honeymoon) and now she’s going to be having a baby alone…. or is she?

turns out her baby daddy lives on the farm behind her parents winery and has been right under her nose her whole life. once Noah sees Bri for the first time he knows he won’t let her get away.

i just love Noah 🥺 he has the sweetest soul. he was upset when Bri never reached out to him but even after reconnecting he never had any resentment towards her even if it took them forever to talk about it 🙄.

Bri was fine. it was annoying to me how she was kept running away and avoiding talking to him. they would finally communicate and Noah was never upset with her taking time to clear her head or take whatever space she needs but i was annoyed 😒

once she finally tells him about the pregnancy, he makes sure to not only tell but show her he wants involved with not only their baby but her as well. he has no intention of just co-parenting if he has anything to say about it. he is such good man that will give her anything and everything she desires.

you should read the novella before starting this but it’s not 100% necessary and i ended up skimming through it. there’s some cute moments but it’s mostly them just having sex so…. 🤷🏽‍♀️ not surprising that she got pregnant considering they never once had a safe sex talk lmaoo so
as long as you know they started as a vacation fling some months before this started you’ll be fine.

4⭐️ for both the novella and the book

I had been in a bit of a reading slump so I decided to get back into my reading with a cute Novella, The Get Away, followed by the first book in the series, Won’t let you get away! Before you read this review, I suggest reading the Novella, The Getaway, first as it ends in a cliff hanger and Won’t Let You Get Away follows straight after.

The Novella starts off the story for Sabrina (Bri) and Noah when they meet at a resort that was supposes to be the place Bri spends her honeymoon, but she called off the wedding, and not wanting to let the all inclusive resort go to waste she goes anyway. Noahs family felt like he needed to get away from the stress of running their family farm, so sent him on an all inclusive holiday. 5 days felt like way to long for both of them, until they found each other, and has a well deserved Christmas vacation… with benefits.

So the story in Won’t Let You Get Away follows their vacation, and what happens on vacation apparently doesn’t stay on vacation. Neither Sabrina nor Noah thought that they would ever see each other again, so when Sabrina and Noah find themselves face to face again 3 months later at Sabrina’s family’s winery which just so happens to border Noahs farm. The result of their little getaway comes to the surface, and the two must figure out how they are going to live their new life, revealing miscommunications and secrets.

- Duel POV 👩‍❤️‍👨
- Surprise/Accidental pregnancy 🤰
- Cowboy Romance 🤠
- Second Chance 🤍
- Forced Proximity 😉

Let’s talk about Noah, the most sweet, kindest, patient, caring guy. He always not only tells Bri how he feels, he shows her. And we can’t forget he is a cowboy! He had been through a lot with his family but when he gets his girl back, there is no way he is going to let her get away again.

Bri had her life on track until all of a sudden it wasn’t. She was just starting to rediscover herself so she held her walls up for so long. So when she finally let them down for Noah, she showed that she was emotional, caring, and finally willing to let him in.

I really liked this book, and the story it followed. I loved their relationship from the novella to the next book! And let’s not forget about the side characters, Connor, AJ, Tucker, and Addison. I loved their relationships with the main characters and how they helped bring the story together.

Once again, you can read this as a standalone, but I recommend reading the Novella, The Getaway first.

This book follows “The getaway”, after they met on vacation and had a couple of days of fun. He has to leave because he gets a phone call that his father is dying, and he leaves a note. She never finds the note.

3 months later she discoveres she’s pregnant and moves back home, after living away with her former fiance for almost 10 years.
First night her parents have invited the brothers next door who’s father recently passed away, and the one man is Noah from the vacation.

Both have missed each other like crazy, and
He decides that he wants her back. She doesn’t hide the pregnancy for more that a week. He’s all in.

The book is about them navigating their relationship. They didn’t talk about the note and him disappearing before 80% in the book, something that I felt dragged a little to far, but it made them understand even better what happened.

The hero is such a green flag, a perfect book boyfriend!

I cried when they discovered that his father who died when he got called away from her towards the end of the first book, had booked the trip for the Hero because he knew the heroine would be there alone - he set them up!

Safety:
- Both are celibate during separation
- H is not used to hooking up with strangers, had a few flings
- H been celibate for years before h
- h ended engagement with om before vacation, went on her honeymoon alone where they met
- h ex shows up and tries to make drama, but h shuts him up. They have a good talk a couple of days later, where they both understand that their relationship was doomed
- No owd

Can be read as a standalone but I personally am glad I read the first book - it’s a short novella.

Is there such a thing as too perfect? I didn't think so but I stand corrected. Noah was literally perfect like he said all the right words, did all the right things and looked like a Greek god on top of that. Idk maybe it's just me but it felt very unrealistic. No one talks like that

Also question do pregnant women cry all the time like Sabrina? I've never lived with one before but it would get old super fast for me. Like losing control of my emotions? Mark me absent ma'am.

Probably unpopular opinion but Sugar is such a cringe pet name to me 😭I just can't

Overall it wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. It's also a quick read, finished in one sitting

BRI & NOAH ♥️

What do you get when you spend your vacation having the hottest, steamiest sex of your life with a hot sexy farmer? PREGNANT… you get pregnant 😂

Omg. Absolutely loved the second book of the series. A perfect way to end it. After going home to raise the baby and help her parents with the winery, Bri finds out that her baby daddy lives just across from her parent’s vineyard. Small world. Their intense chemistry comes back full force but Bri gets too much in her head about how to let Noah know she’s pregnant. Never finding the note he left her in her book, she assumed he wanted nothing more than just a fling and he assumed she saw the note and just didn’t want anything more with him. Once she tells him about the baby, he makes sure to let her know that he wanted her since day one and that he wants to be in a full on relationship. I love the way their navigate their relationship. I’m glad things worked out for them in the end. Their chemistry was once again off the charts, the way they communicated with each other, so happy they both got their happy ending with each other.

I was falling into a book slump and this series definitely pulled me out of it.

🌷🌹🌻🌷🌹🌻🌷🌹🌻🌷🌹🌻🌷🌹🌻🌷🌹🌻🌷🌹

"You consume my thoughts Bri; you're the first thing on my mind in the morning and my very last at night. And now that I've had the privilege of waking up with you in my bed? No matter what happens now, I won't let you get away again, You're stuck with me, Sugar."

"So that's a yes to moving in with me?"
"Only if you have enough space for all my books."
"Sugar, I will knock down a wall and build you a library if that's what it takes to make you move in with me."

"I love you. I know that none of this is how you planned it. Me, the baby...living here. But meeting you and having you here are the best things to ever happen to me. Before you came into my life, I was living for work. You make me see everything in a different light. I am grateful to have you here, pushing me to live for more than just the farm. I've lived here my whole life, knowing this is where I'm meant to be, but because of you, I finally feel like I'm where I belong. I love you. Not because you're having my baby. But because of your strength, your light, and just...you, Bri. I love you."
"I love you too, Noah.""

I ate this book UP

Absolutely devoured this second chance, accidental pregnancy romance!

Everything in Sabrina’s life is changing. Three months ago, she called off her wedding, and decided to go on her honeymoon by herself. She never expected to meet a stranger and spend 4 nights absolutely devouring each other. But when they left without exchanging last names or numbers. Now, 3 months later, she finds out she’s pregnant. She decides to move home, where she hasn’t been in the last few years, and help her parents run their vineyard. Little does she know Noah, the man she met on vacation and the father of her baby, owns the farm neighboring her parents vineyard. Now she has to tell him, and everyone else, that she’s pregnant. She has no idea how Noah will react, but she knows she’s keeping this baby. What she wasn’t expecting was Noah to be there for her every step of the way. At every doctor appointment, taking care of every craving, cooking her dinner. Can she trust him not to run out on her again? Or is there more to the story than she thought?

This is a short and sweet story that you can devour in one sitting. I DO recommend reading the novella, The Getaway, before reading Won’t Let You Get Away. You’ll get to read all about Noah and Sabrina’s meet cute while on vacation, and see what really happened when they parted ways.

Noah is the definition’ of alpha cinnamon roll. He is so sweet and soft for Sabrina (and the baby). And Sabrina is so strong and so resilient.

If you love small town, accidental pregnancy, second chance, meddling family, and a hot farm this is the read for you!

We absolutely need to gush about how utterly adorable and heart-melting Won’t Let You Get Away is. Seriously, it’s a warm hug wrapped in a love story!

Noah is the definition of perfect boyfriend material—sweet, kind, and every lovely word you’d highlight in a feel-good romance. But let’s back up a bit, shall we?

Bri cancels her wedding and decides to take her non-refundable honeymoon trip solo. Enter Noah, a dreamy stranger. Sparks fly and their Christmas vacation feels like magic! Until Noah disappears.

Fast-forward and Bri finds out she's pregnant. She is shocked because her dreamy love connection is her baby daddy, and she has no way of contacting him. So, she decided to head back home, raise her baby, and help out at her family's winery. Imagine her surprise when she discovers the charming cowboy next door is none other than Noah! It’s fate, right?

These two are so perfect for each other, it makes your heart ache in the best way. The chemistry, the second chances, the small-town sweetness—it’s all there! Honestly, I’m only sad there wasn’t more because I could read about them forever. This story is an absolute delight.

🖤 HEA from the previous novella

Gahh I adored this book. If you haven’t read the prequel Novella Thhe Gstaway you must read that prior to reading this book, as this is a continuation and NOT a standalone. This continues with Noah and Sabrina’s story.

The, MMC, Noah, has taken over the family farm as his father’s health just got too bad. He’s spent months at this point pining for Bri .

The FMC, Sabrina, or Bri, has come home to her family’s vineyard to help. It’s been a couple months since her vacation fling , and she’s discovered she’s pregnant.

Upon arrival at her family vineyard, her parents invited the neighbor boys from across the way and lo and behold in walks her baby daddy..

I loved the continuation of Noah and Bri story. There is some miscommunication between them but it’s minor and more explains things a bit between the novella and now.

This was a cute book and I can’t wait to delve more into the series. I’m glad Bri n Noah got their HEA.

This was cute, but not overly exciting. It says its book 2 but I didn't see much about book one prior to this. It's not what I'd comsider a page turner but something cute and cozy tbat doesn't require a lot of effort. This didn't make me feel anything towards any of the characters so it fell flat for me.

Now this book wasn't as bad as 'The Getaway' but I still had some things I really did not like.
Also don't read if you don't want spoilers!

1. We really didn't know about the characters. We knew like the surface level things. Like how Noah's dad died. Sabrina didn't love her ex fiance. And that's it.
2. The characters weren't very complex. We didn't learn about any resentment towards a character. Something they were afraid of. Nothing. I feel like in romance books we learn about what a character feels towards something. And experience that made them the way that they are now.
4. I feel like Sabrina being surprised that she got pregnant was dumb asf bc she did the dirty unprotected for 4 days. And multiple times a day. Like why was she surprised.
5. The fact that they blame their attraction to each other for not having a simple conversation without feeling like they couldn't hold themselves back from jumping each other's bones really pissed me off. Like the first almost conversation they have in their brains they are like "Noah smirks at what I said. It takes so much out of me not to jump his bones and kiss the shit out of him." And then Noah is like "Bri is wearing a lose fitted top and while she is talking I looked do slowly and saw her perky breasts. I remembered how they felt in my mouth. God do I want to do it again." Like damn. Chill. Have a simple conversation please. (It also hurt me so much writing that last fake quotation.) Anyways...
Noah knew Sabrina wanted to have a simple conversation with him and he still kissed her and then proceeded to sleep with her. Then he got his feelings hurt when she ran away. Sabrina shouldn't have waited until they were at a bar to tell him she was pregnant with his baby because that was dumb.
6. Noah was too perfect. And not in a cute, I want him to be my man way. Like he was saying too many of the right things. He is talked out like he is a Greek god and I was just so icked out with him. The nickname sugar really pissed me off. Like her always called her sugar and it highkey pissed me off. Bad.
7. Everything felt so rushed. This book was less than 300 pages and for an accidental pregnancy that was too short. Like every chapter would jump like 2 weeks or a month. Like I just wanted more. I wanted to hear some more of their conversations. Like how they were going to take care of the baby. i wanted to see them baby shopping together. Or decorating the nursery. Something. She always added that they did something or had this nice conversation but we never see that. I also didn't know he knew her name until like 50 percent into the book.
8. They didn't discuss what happened on the vacation which would've been nice to see. I already didn't like them because of the first book.
9. What made me really hate this book is that they both never talked about how they love each other's personality or smile or something that is not a physical trait that you see on the outside. Like it just didn't feel like he really liked her anything more than her body. But it didn't give love like an Elsie Silver, Kat Singleton, Ana Huang book. It gave fuck buddies who ended up have a kid together because they didn't use their brain and use protection. And the next thing I know is they are saying I love you. Like having that declaration of love is something I crave. Comparing the love that the MMC has for the FMC to delightful things and how, for example flowers need the sun to grow and how she is that sun. She is the light to his dark.
I still don't like them. And listen to this, the epilogue had spice in it. I was so tired of the spice at this point. And I never get tired of spice. I literally skipped every single one of their spice scenes. I read too much of their spice. This book in my opinion should've went through many more drafts because damn. One thing I am glad is that there wasn't too much spice in the book as the last one. Because damn was that a lot of spice.
Anyways let me stop rambling on Goodreads🤣 just don't read this book.

SO COZY!!!

This was written very nicely, the storyline flowed really well with, I’d say, nothing too dramatic going on, it was just them on their daily basis, did their job while getting to know each other, but somehow, it was interesting and engaging enough to keep me going and I couldn’t really put it down until the very end, so good.

Now let me just say this first before talking about them okay. I don’t know how many times I’ve said this before but I have to say it one more freaking time: grumpy grouchy guy who barely speaks but when he does, he knows just what to say is my catnip. And mister Noah Dawson here was a perfect fit, he delivered and that was it, that was the end, period.

“I will go at whatever pace and do whatever you ask of me, just as long as it means that I’m spending time with you.”

“Do you have any idea how beautiful you are?
You’re not only the star of all my dreams and fantasies, but you’re so much more.
You truly are the most incredible woman I have ever met, and I can’t wait to raise our child together.”

Swooned.

Moving back to them, the chemistry between Noah And Sabrina ‘Bri’ was really good. Like I said in my The Getaway: A Clover Creek Farm Novella’s review, you can totally read this book without reading that one first, just that if you do, you’ll have a better understanding of how they started as well as their connection, and their relationship now, as in this book, would have made a lot more sense and became so much more cherished. If not, there were parts of The Getaway that were covered here again, and even more, aka the hot tub scene if you know you know, so don’t worry about it.

However, while their relationship was really sweet, wholesome and very genuine, I’d love to see them bonding more on page. And by bonding, I mean talking and sharing information about their life, something like that, on page instead of being mentioned once or twice off page. Because I think those were some personal and intimate information that was worth talking about on page that could possibly show a better, deeper level of their relationship. I was seriously looking forward to them having THE talk, but they didn’t, or did but off page, so that was really a shame.

Anyway, the found family was everything I need and want in my life. The way they were all so nice and kind and supportive of each other, so rational yet very loving and caring, they were seriously the kind of people I want to get close with, I’m really jealous. And I did see some potential and interesting details of the secondary characters, like Connor, AJ, Tucker, Addison, Leo,… or hell even Paul; that made me so excited and I’d definitely love to check their books out later in the future.

Overall, this was a really cute and lighthearted read, so cozy, homey and wholesome. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out!

“A trip?” I prompt, wondering if Tucker will make the connection on his own.“Yeah, some Caribbean resort or something,” Tucker answers, eyes widening as he slaps a hand onto the center console.
“Shut up,” he gasps, sounding like he just heard the juiciest gossip of his life. I can’t help but laugh at his reaction.

This scene was so hilarious.

The PLOT was obviously a continuation from the novella and I have to say it was nice to delve into more characters and the relationships that surround the MCs. I have to say though, that a lot of the scenes were quite boring and expected. There were a lot of cringey sentences that I literally skipped over because there is NO WAY someone speaks in such a corny way in real life.

The WRITING was good and although I noticed a few grammatical errors here and there, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the book. Christy has a knack for writing and I’m sure that with more practise, her story structure would improve as well.

I really liked that you could really see the dynamic between characters. I especially liked, the relationship between Tucker and Bri, it’s so platonic and the sibling care that they share (unlike Mr. Tommy, who is a complete nut-job if he got mad at his sister for breaking up a guy, like we’re you going to marry him?). And I’m predicting that the next book in this series is going to be Bri’s sister (forgot her name) x Tucker. I mean the cute nickname he has her saved as is just so cute!

Overall, I enjoyed the book and Bri and Noah are such green flags that I seriously can’t even say a single bad thing about their relationship.

Although, I have to say that it was pretty overlooked the trauma and possible hurt Paul must’ve felt. Like being with someone and almost getting married to them, and then suddenly they ditch you cause they suddenly had an epiphany that they don’t actually love you?! Like poor guy, also didn’t like how he was painted as the “bad” and “emotional” guy as it was Bri who lead him to believe she was in love. And I do understand to some extent that she herself didn’t realise that she wasn’t marrying for love, but it was so abrupt and perhaps she should’ve given him a proper closure.

MY CHARACTER RANKING:
1. NOAH (because, hello, he’s patient, kind, soft-hearted, and handsome, and a cowboy. Oof)
2. TUCKER (he just has that mature yet teasing the girl he likes vibes that I love)
3. CONNER (only cause he made me laugh a few times.)
4. BRI (love her, but just the others shine more for me )

Review of both books

This is a first read of this author for myself and it was just what I needed.

I was in a reading slump and just not enjoying my books as enthusiastically as normal. I stumbled on an excerpt for the 2nd book and saw it wasn’t too big a book so thought I’d go for it.

What a joy! Book 1 we meet the FMC Bri, who has just called off her wedding to her 8 year long relationship but decides she’s going on the honeymoon solo, it’s her dream trip.

While there she’s alone watching other couples, trying to live in the moment when she meets the MMC Noah. Who is also there alone, having basically been forced to ‘enjoy’ himself by his brother and ailing father.

He doesn’t expect to have his breath stolen by the beauty that is Bri, she’s witty, funny and his troubles disappear when she’s around.

They decide why not turn their vacation to a ‘holiday smexcation’ the attraction is undeniable and what’s too loose. Two strangers who go back to their lives, only when the time comes to leave as impossible as it should be, it’s harder to think about saying goodbye.

I didn’t realise book 1 would end on a cliffhanger, I’m so thankful I was able to dive right into the 2nd book because I was not ready for my Noah and Bri story to be over.

They 2nd book we are hit with some surprises, some trinkets from the vacation that come back home to stay and heartbreak thinking neither reached out to the other while fate refuses to let them pass each other by.

I really enjoyed these books, there wasn’t too much angst or drama, it had a sweet romance telling without with lots of spice scattered through.

The first book is basically all spice, but it’s a 4 day holiday and not an overall long book so I didn’t mind too much, I do wish the communication had happened a little sooner in book 2 so we could have had more insight into them as a couple as their lives changed but overall these were really good books.

I’m only holding back a star because I felt like some of the spice could have been swapped for some deeper scenes based on what was going on with their lives and there were a couple of timelines, date/age things that were inconsistent.

These books definitely got me out of a slump and I was a really joyful book

probably more like 2.5 stars

Unfortunately for this book, it did a few things that I just can’t overlook.

1. Set in South Carolina but the characters say “you all” instead of y’all. Nope.

2. Too many language/granmar/editorial errors. Usually I don’t begrudge a few typos but there were so many words and phrases that were just used…wrong. Like the author had seen them used but didn’t understand the context.

3. Referenced romance novels TOO MUCH. Even worse, referenced a fake author from another book series. Stop doing this.

So all of that is…something. But in addition, the plot was just a liiiittle too hard to believe. They met at a resort and had s*x for FOUR DAYS, but never once discussed any personal details? Not even, idk, where they LIVED?!

Even worse they had unprotected s*x. Like they joked about it a few times in the book. YIIIIIIKES.

And then the pettiest reason to dislike the book: the FMC goes out to what’s described as the ONLY bar in this small South Carolina town and decides to wear business casual. Some sort of tunic top in PURPLE (of course it is) and black pants.

I’ve lived in rural southern towns and let me tell you, it’s getting dressed up if you wear jeans without holes and a shirt that’s not a comfort colors tee. There’s just no way.

I was just about to wrap this up with some sort of “but actually I did enjoy the book” when I remembered the OTHER thing I hated— the stupid fence!!! And the farm hand who disappeared!! Look, if you’re continually turning a horse out into a pasture with a broken fence, you don’t sit around and not repair it for MONTHS. Literally, the book said he could only work on it once a week for a few minutes. Nah, buddy, get out there and MAKE time or keep your horse in the barn! It was written for laughs but knowingly turning out a horse in a pasture with a broken fence is just so irresponsible I lost so much respect for the MMC.

He wasn’t awful, the book was…fine, it’s just not very good.

"She shines brighter than any star in the sky, captures my attention and making it impossible to look anywhere else."

This book is the follow up to the holiday novella, "The Getaway", so I will tell you right now if you haven't read that yet... **STOP RIGHT NOW** and go read it. You NEED to get their meet story and all the fire between them before you devour this book like I did. It just makes THIS book THAT much better!

"Won't Let You Get Away" picks up where the novella, "The Getaway", left off. You get those burning questions from the end of that book answered, see the chemistry between Noah and Bri blossom on their own time after it all comes out (you know that there's an accidental pregnancy from trope reveal), lottttts of hot Daddy Noah talk and praise, found/extended family, many swoon-worthy moments, and a very HEA with no 3rd act breakup (THANK YOU!). I can't say much without giving spoilers, but just TRUST ME when I say this book will give you all the feels and make you wanting more! I read this within a day because I could not put it down. It will restore your faith that "the good ones really ARE out there and they'll worship the woman they love". Noah was so patient, attentive, caring, funny, strong, and just the PERFECT other half. Bri had her life shaken up in so many ways all at once, so to come out on the other side the way she did is a tribute to how strong of a FMC she is. These two just go together. You will also see how they were honestly fated to be together, which I absolutely loved. Ugh. This is one of those books for me that I wish I could read over again for the first time. I'll definitely be rereading it here and there down the road.

I've read all of Mikayla Christy's books and she has outdone herself with this small series, but this book? This book is my favorite of hers! Amazing job, girl!
