About the author

Karen Antashyan (b. 1983) is a Yerevan-based writer, poet, and a pioneer of new literary forms in Armenia. Over the past two decades, his work has evolved from metaphysical abstraction and mythological synthesis toward a grounded, secular reality—a transition he describes as a conscious "descent" into the tangible world.

Antashyan is credited with introducing the first metamodernist work to Armenian literature with his 2021 collection, Dzon. He further innovated with WTF ♡: meme-poems (2024), the first collection of "meme-poetry" aimed at localizing modern digital culture within new poetic structures. His latest book, Good Release (2025), marks a seamless transition into prose, utilizing a "documentary stand-up" format to decode the absurdity of the "Independence Generation's" collective memory.

He is a linguistic innovator and the creator of Ayleren.com, a unique dictionary of Armenian "slips of the tongue" and linguistic errors. The project features over 200 newly coined words with ironic, pseudo-scientific definitions that mirror the social, political, and cultural paradoxes of modern life.

Antashyan is the founder of Granish.org, the premier digital hub for contemporary Armenian literature, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Boon TV since 2013. In 2022, he was awarded the First Prize in Poetry at the Yerevan Book Festival. Outside of literature, he is a tourism entrepreneur and a dedicated amateur mycologist who discovered a mushroom species previously unrecorded in Armenia and created Snker.am, the first comprehensive dictionary of Armenian mushroom names.

շատ լավն էր։ չգիտեմ՝ ոնց են ուրիշ ձեւ ասում, բայց շոշափելի ա։

շատ թույն էր, որ լրիվ ոչ-գիտելիքի վրա էր հիմնված, բնազդականություն ու "ինքը լինելը" կա մեջը։ բացահայտում ա որոշակի արքետիպերի էությունը՝ կապված ջրի պաշտամունքի շրջանի հնագույն հիշողության հետ։

մասնավորի ընդհանրացումը, երեւի՝ սուբլիմացիան (հը՞մմ), հումությունը նույնիսկ ավելի էին սիրունացնում։

ընդհանուր առմամբ՝ աբստրակտի (աբստրակտի՞) աստվածացման ու ջրի դիմակազերծման պոեզիա է։
