It's official! I like Conner's pack more than Mason's! Maybe because Conner's omegas are braver and stronger and sweeter. Maybe because they are all omega werewolves and Mason's are mostly humans.
Cody and Dante are so sweet together!
Cody was great in his struggling to get a normal life, to put behind his years as a slave and to find something useful to do in his new pack. I liked that he took the decision to pursue his dream man and approach Dante at the very beginning.
Dante was so silly from the start but then he was so protective and sweet with Cody that I was smiling all the time because of him... ;)
Another good addition to The Pregnant Mate series! :)
Cody was sweet, Dante I expected to be a little more broody, together they were a nice couple. The sex started kind of quickly despite the two years they've been pining over one another, which doesn't count because we didn't get to actually see it. It was interesting to see an omega get upset over being pregnant, yet there was no use of birth control. Perhaps this is a cautionary tale for drinking too much? The use of "misunderstanding" as the crux of the story's trouble between the mates, when there's really no cause for it, is getting boring In the end it was a quick fluff read.
I have to wonder why in each volume everyone’s always got the hots for the current omega; it seems a bit silly and does not exactly aid in varying the happenings. In fact, up to a point the plot here is pretty much the same as in book four, but with a few elements reversed. Luckily, the protagonists are infinitely more likeable, so that helps a lot.
There’s definitely a lot left out, such as the truly emotional bits concerning both Cody’s past and Dante’s. Particularly the latter’s. Maybe this book felt somewhat lacklustre in terms of actual narrative effort. Well, and things do turn rather mushy towards the end.
Eh, on the whole I enjoyed it still more than books three to six – mostly because I liked the protagonists and they weren’t jerks – so I’ll run with that.
This is a fun series although sometimes the overly dramatic moments can be a little much. Cody is sweet and very easy to love while Dante so deserves another chance at love. The subplot involving the supposed "caring" wolves coming to warn Connor's pack was pretty see-through and I was a little disappointed that wasn't done differently. Won't stop me from reading this brain candy, though :-)
This book is one of my favorites out of the series, it wasn't an instant hi my name is so and so lets have sex and live happily ever after. They had problems and took a bit of time to realize that they were meant to be together. Cody is probably my favorite character, he's such a little cutie but still had a bit of a back bone.
I have read this series completely out of order but I really recommend that you don't.
I would recommend this series to anyone whos looking for a quick fluffy read, it's not overly agnsty and has very sweet characters (once some of them decide to pull their heads out of thier asses) :)
Just "okay". The grammatical errors were my major pet peeve. I have trouble enjoying a book to its fullest when the basic rules of writing are overlooked not just once or twice, but numerous times, and both writer and editor fail to catch these. I'm starting to find this common in book-a-month publishers like Siren and Extasy. Authors are pushed to meet that monthly quota, quality drops, editors rush to print and no one catches even the most obvious errors.
Didn't feel like much of a story, almost as if the writer had nothing better to write about. Kind of a let down considering I actually liked the previous book. Oh well...
(Will also say that I found it kind of funny that one of the MC's inner rants actually coincided with my previously mentioned little peeve about the lack of contraceptives in this series.)
Would have liked to have seen Dante & Cody have a talk about Josh - as he was the reason Dante held back so long and "saw" in the morning yet completely forgotten throughout the story. I saw no compassionate from Cody about his lover's dead mate.
obviously doesn't know the difference between rape and sex
Beside the usual stupidity the author writes a story line equating rape to sex. Yes, Dante assures Cody he has no reason to feel guilt about what he was forced to do but never clears up the earlier comments.
