This poor guy goes from almost being raped by one man to something that turned my stomach. It goes from "I tense with fear" to "he thrusts into my body" in a few paragraphs.
This man is vulnerable and his boss just goes straight for it.
Ugh. I feel sick.
I'm really sensitive. He gives permission but it felt so scary and abrupt to me. All I wanted is for him to be held and comforted after that incident I but his boss goes straight to sex. Sometimes I hate omega verse and the way authors write the world building. He wasn't so far gone in his heat that the boss needed to do that before he even talked to him or held him.
1 star because everything was just so fucking unmemorable. Nothing worthy of committing to memory. And that makes me sadder and more frustrated because I’m craving for some good omegaverse story right now.
3.5 I liked both of the characters. Leo is down on his luck for the millionth time it seems. Nolan steps in and helps him. I liked the hurt to comfort/ needing to be rescued thing. I don’t like it all the time but it worked here because Leo was so sweet. I also liked that Nolan had been secretly obsessed with him the whole time lol. I do wish we would have gotten Nolan’s POV though. We would have gotten more answers but also I get it because the mystery wouldn’t have been there. The main thing I wasn’t a fan of was Nolan owning multiple strip clubs where the guys have sex with customers in the back. So he owns the strip clubs/brothels basically and I wasn’t a fan of that. Also if he’s this billionaire why the hell is the club that Leo serves in so damn dingy? Like doesn’t he have the money to make it more upscale? That was confusing to me.
Anyway I was hoping Jade and Aiden’s book would be next because that intrigues me. But I’ll read the next one which is Caleb who we don’t know much about.
NO CHEATING OM DRAMA (that’s only a misunderstanding) THIRD ACT BREAK UP (kind of but again it was a misunderstanding) ATTEMPTED SA ON MC MURDER MPREG
Shit, I don't think my heart can handle the strings of bad things that happened to Leo.
When I thought his life was good with Nolan, he was facing another rough patch on his walk. He overheard Nolan's conversation with Jade, a stripper who worked at Nolan's club and helped Leo back then. From that conversation, Leo thought Jade was Nolan's lover; his heart couldn't take it, so he ran away. Too bad, Leo was kidnapped by his shitty bos alongside Leo's loan shark. Thankfully, before anything bad happens, Nolan comes to the rescue.
After all the bad things that happened in Leo's life, he deserved the world given to him by Nolan, and Nolan didn't disappoint; he cherished Leo as well as Nolan's family, and they accepted him into the Rockford family.
Nolan was not an ordinary businessman; he was like a mobster. He has two brothers and cousins. Jade was Nolan's housekeeper's son, who was like a brother to him, and I think he has a soft spot for Nolan's brother, Aaiden, and he was Caleb's apprentice.
The following book will be about Caleb, one of Nolan's twin cousins, who has a job as an assassin. I can't wait; I hope it will be as good as Nolan and Leo's story.

I actually kind of liked this one. I love the over the top dramatic stuff that happens to Leo. This way we get to see the alpha sweep in a save the day. I’m such a sucker for it. Was it a little crazy? Yea. But I ate it up with my tiny little spoon and kept going back for more.
Leo can’t catch a break. Nothing good has ever happened to him so it’s no wonder he can’t believe that Nolan actually wants him. At least Nolan was very persistent and didn’t give up. They were also pretty sexy together too.
The spin on the omegaverse here was pretty neat as well. Three days of heat every month, an alpha has to mark an omega three times to make it permanent, alphas have a “command” voice they can use. It’s all very interesting and makes omegas especially vulnerable in this universe.
I’d read the next installment for sure, because I’d love to have more details about this world the author is building.
Look this had the bones to be a really good story, and it was don’t get me wrong though it was sort of all over the place, a little inconsistent and some strange grammar errors including one scene where the main character Leo’s eyes are described as light brown and then he’s said to have light blue eyes which sits weird with me because when you’re pouring your heart into writing a book wouldn’t you know what colour your main characters eyes are? Some of the word choice is odd too like grabbing Leo by the “bib”… the what now?
If you can get past the inconsistencies it’s a fine quick read.
3.5/5 Guilty pleasure. OTT characters but still super enjoyable. Down on his luck omega, Leo finds a home with wealthy alpha, Nolan.
Leo goes through A LOT, being sexually harassed and physically abused and somehow he’s always caught up in terrible situations. 🥺 I really wanted to get Nolan’s POV because I was wondering if the pull/crush was one-sided or not so I’m glad the last chapter was in his POV, where we got to see that he was indeed also smitten at first sight.

💭THOUGHTS💭
About Omega Leo and his boss Nolan. Leo works in Nolan's club as a bartender. He got a fat crush on Nolan but knows it's all hopeless. A regular in the club harasses Leo on the daily basis. One day Nolan noticed. That regular also sabotages Leo's heat and Nolan helps him. From this their story starts. He also has a loan shark behind him. It was single pov and first person
It was fast paced and quick to finish. Surprisingly i did like the characters and the side characters. This book could have been longer with more materials but it wasn't bad. I felt like Nolan's character wasn't explored properly.
This book was a nice surprise. I liked it, even though I seem to disagree with most reviews here. It was a nice omegaverse story, with a lot of action. Poor Leo went through everything that was possible and more. Nolan was the typical Alpha, yes, but also a nice guy. I liked Nola's siblings and would like to read their stories too. This novel was entertaining, interesting and romantic. I got hooked on the story and couldn't stop reading. So yeah, it was a book for me. Recommended if you want to have a good time and read a beautiful romance with lots of things happening, bad people getting what they deserve and a lovely couple who are very much in love.
I liked by it. It’s cute. It’s insta lovey. Leo is so naive and full of so much self doubt that it was frustrating. He made so many poor decisions because of that.
There was also that, “oh no I’m dirt poor and can’t let the billionaire I’m with do anything for me thing” happening. I despise that so much. It feeds into that it’s virtuous to be poor and not take the from the rich propaganda.
The story ultimately was brought to a satisfactory conclusion but I can see where people would say there were questions left unanswered.
"Claimed by the Boss" is an enthralling contemporary Alpha/Omega romance that masterfully combines elements of power dynamics, deep-seated longing, and unexpected love. Originally released as episodes on Kindle Vella, this novel by [Author Name] brings together all the episodes into a seamless narrative that captivates from start to finish.
The story centers around Nolan Rockford, a powerful Alpha and a real estate tycoon, and an unnamed Omega protagonist, who works in Nolan's club under a mask of anonymity. The Omega's life is one of hardship and desperation, burdened by an oppressive debt that looms over every aspect of their existence. The portrayal of the Omega's struggle is heartfelt and raw, providing a stark contrast to Nolan's world of affluence and influence.
Nolan is a complex character—dominant, determined, and used to getting his way. His character is well-developed, with layers that unravel as the story progresses. The Omega, on the other hand, brings a sense of vulnerability and resilience that adds depth to the narrative. The chemistry between the two is palpable, with their initial encounter sparked by a moment of crisis that thrusts the Omega into Nolan's protective embrace.
The plot takes an intriguing turn when a persistent customer crosses the line, forcing the Omega into Nolan's lap, both literally and metaphorically. What starts as a rescue quickly evolves into a series of intense interactions that challenge both characters' perceptions and boundaries. The three nights and one Heat they spend together are depicted with a blend of passion and emotional intensity, capturing the essence of their deepening bond.
One of the standout elements of "Claimed by the Boss" is its exploration of power and consent. Nolan's determination to claim the Omega's body contrasts with the latter's initial reluctance, creating a dynamic tension that drives the story forward. The author skillfully navigates these themes, ensuring that the relationship develops in a way that feels both consensual and profoundly intimate.
The narrative also delves into the societal structures and expectations placed on Alphas and Omegas, adding a layer of social commentary to the romance. This backdrop enriches the story, providing context for the characters' actions and motivations.
"Claimed by the Boss" is not just a tale of lust and power; it's also a story of finding light in the darkest of places and discovering love in the most unexpected circumstances. The Omega's journey from despair to hope, aided by Nolan's unwavering desire, is both moving and inspiring.
Overall, "Claimed by the Boss" is a compelling read that will appeal to fans of Alpha/Omega romances and those who enjoy stories with strong character development and emotional depth. Its blend of passion, tension, and heartfelt moments makes it a standout addition to the genre. Whether you are new to the world of Kindle Vella or a longtime fan, this collected edition is sure to leave a lasting impression.

After reading this book I am struggling how to rate it. I have come away with a mix of thoughts.
Why leave it so late to make it clear Nolan and family are mafai/ heavies.
Why did Nolan not act quicker with Jade his help to roll up Tony and his 'henchman', why let them use all the staff and especially the backroom boys for such an extended period. I would preseume a tighter control on businesses?
The power dynamic between Nolan and Leo seems so imbalanced since they got together when Leo had just bren attackrd and been sorta forced into heat. That dud not sit well with me. Also Leo being locked up in the room. Why?
How could Leo be tricked so easily by Gino and also Mr Bugrov? For a young man with a difficult past family wise I don't understand why he accepts things on face value, whilst he learned early on in life not to trust so easily. Espevially when he was on an upward trajectory in life. Did he not believe he earned it and why not ask help at his university?
How come he returns to his room when all his alarm bells should be going off after his envounters with the 'landlord' and Gino. Eatlierbm on he mentions it is rent controlled and then later on it is maybre not legally rented out? What is it.
The brothers and nephees showing up as heavies to 'interogate' Leo. It is a bit much.
On the flip side of that I can see how someone can have blinders on. I do want to see what happens to others in Nolan his family. I am curious if the other books have a more balanced dynamic And lastly does the family find Tony and Mr Bugrov and who facilitates them?
So overall since the book keeps popping up in my mind I can"t dismiss it. I always have to get used to a single MC POV teĺIing., then again irl you don't get both perspectives. I know I am not a huge fan of dark mm a/o contemporary books. Since a lot was obscured and only mention off it was not dark dark to me. I however do think triggers might apply for some. So 3+/3,5* for me.

Leo is doing his best to get by. His life was going okay. He separated himself from his family and was thriving in college. But it wasn’t enough. His family ended up destroying the life he was building, and now Leo finds himself waiting tables in a strip club to pay off a gang his brother owes money to, living in a mold-infested dump, and struggling to find enough extra to cover food and suppressants. Juggling demands from an avaricious boss, an obsessed customer, a dishonest slumlord, and an abusive loan shark is slowly breaking him. One of the only bright spots in his world is the owner of his club, billionaire Nolan Rockford. He realizes his crush is pathetic and the powerful, handsome Alpha will never notice an Omega in his club but he can’t help but dream. When his heat hits and he finds himself at risk to his obsessed customer, Nolan steps in and becomes his unlikely hero. Despite wanting everything, Leo can’t allow himself to believe in HEA’s. Afraid to try for what he wants he makes a costly mistake. One that might cost him his freedom or his life. I loved this story. I loved Leo. I loved Nolan. I loved Nolan’s family. I loved it all. The relationship between Leo and Nolan was everything I enjoy. A dark knight and a damaged, adorable Omega made the best foundation. Leo made some mistakes but trauma will impair decision making. Nolan’s lack of transparency made for some misunderstandings. Relationship growing pains that provided drama on their road to forever. It was the perfect blend of danger and steam with a bit of humor thrown in. I liked the ending, it was a bit cheeky but I would have loved a one-year later epilogue. I can’t wait for more stories involving the Rockford men
This series. THIS SERIES. It all started from one random Facebook post and BAM - I've devoured 7 books in 4 days. 🤭🙌🏻
To be honest, I was expecting just some quick and easy and spicy reeds.... but this series completely stole my heart. 🥹 I fell in love by the end of book one, was crying by the end of book two and now I'm 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 invested.
We get to meet each member of the Rockford family while they each find their perfect Mates and it is the sweetest thing ever. It's a perfect mix of each couple's romance mixed with a highstakes, intense subplot that keeps you on your toes - my heart loved it and my anxiety hated it 🤣
Every relationship is unique and perfect in its own way - protective Nolan, kinky Caleb, redheaded Liam, disguised golden retriever Damien, groveling Raphael, smarter than he seems Ezra and scarred Sebastian PLUS Gabriel, Aadien & Jade who's books are coming! [Two books but three Rockford's to go....🤔🤭]
I love them all for such different reasons! I really enjoyed that you continue to get to see the family grow and how the relationships with all of the in-laws develop as the family gets bigger (and as Leo's belly grows bigger🫃). We still have two more stories to go (can't wait for Gabriel & Saint and Aadien & Jade 👀). I am so glad I stumbled across this series!
It's not that it was entirely bad because this story has the potential of being a solid, well-rounded story. In my opinion, it fell short on execution. You get thrown in and it just takes off immediately with Leo and his misfortunes. I truly felt for Leo, and wanted him shielded from the world. But at times it felt forced or even arbitrary.
I'd like to also point out that this is my first story that deals with Alphas and Omegas and Betas and so my knowledge isn't all that expansive when it comes to these topics/genres. However, when I hear these terms, I automatically think of fantasy in some way, shape, or form. As in werewolf or some other beast. But it had nothing to do with that...again, I am not well-informed so I very well could be missing the point.
For me, though, there was one major thing I could not get past it and it was the pregnancy. There's not much explanation other than Omegas can be male or female and can get pregnant...that in itself is confusing because with males, how? Again, for this I think it just comes down to the story lacking more context, more structure, and sturdier foundation.
I did enjoy Nolan's and Leo's relationship, though! That at least was sweet to read. But I don't think it was enough to want to continue with the series.
Sophie O'Dare's "Claimed by the Boss" delves into the intricate world of dark M/M romance, specifically within the Omegaverse framework, setting the stage for a provocative reading experience. As the inaugural installment of the Taken by His Alpha series, the novel follows the tumultuous journey of Leo and Nolan.
Leo, scarred by past experiences of sexual harassment and physical abuse, emerges as a compelling protagonist navigating themes of trauma and self-discovery. His transformative encounter with Nolan propels the narrative forward, reminiscent of a classic rags-to-riches storyline.
While O'Dare tackles weighty themes with sincerity, the execution occasionally falls into familiar tropes without significant innovation. For instance, the storyline, while emotionally charged, lacks the depth needed to distinguish itself in a crowded genre.
Despite its challenges, "Claimed by the Boss" offers a thought-provoking exploration of power dynamics and personal growth within the M/M romance genre. Readers drawn to intense narratives and nuanced character development may find elements to appreciate, though those seeking groundbreaking innovation might find themselves wanting more.

Part of the Taken By His Alpha series hang on we are dealing with billionaires and the one who captures his undivided attention. Leo is the sweetest does well in college until his family messes that up forcing him to quit not waiting tables in a club to pay off gangs his brother owes, he now lives in not the best place mold, bugs working himself to the bone hoping he will have enough for food when everyone else takes and deals with a dishonest landlord, creepy boss , a customer who doesn’t want to remain customer and an abusive loan shark how much can one man take before he breaks. Nolan sexy club owner is his bright place to go to dream, he is a billionaire, powerful alpha through and through, when his employee’s heat hit he steps in to take care of him stopping an obsessed customer from harming him, and he has a thing for the little omega when he is taken right off the street Leo thinks no one will come for him but the one person he thought will never notices saves him, but will all his scares heal, will Nolan help him with his family taking advantage of him, will he get the loan shark off his back, and will this one lost omega find the happiness he wants so badly in the billionaire alpha?
I guess you could call Nolan a morally grey man. He has many businesses, real estate, clubs, etc. and I believe his family deals in drugs and money laundering.
When one of his down-on-his-luck employees runs into more trouble, Nolan comes to the rescue. He’s had a thing for Leo for a while but, mixing business with pleasure is a no-no and it takes all Nolan’s willpower to not touch Leo.
Leo has had a crush on Nolan since he first saw him but why would someone who can have any Omega want someone like Leo? When Nolan rescues Leo during his heat, Leo feels guilty and runs the next morning. Once again, landing himself in trouble. Nolan rescues him again.
Leo and Nolan spend time together and Leo meets Nolan’s family. After a misunderstanding, Leo gets in DEEP trouble. Nolan and his family rescue him and we find out just how dangerous the family is.
***** POV… multi first person (all chapters from Leo’s POV except the last which is from Nolan’s POV)
Standalone or series… book 1 in series CAN be read as a standalone
I loved this book. Great world building. I liked the concept of an alpha's command voice- though it can be used for bad as much for good-, and loved the concept of an omega being marked by an alpha's bite to prevent other alphas from claiming them or protecting them from another alpha's command voice, and doesn't become permanent unless done three times.
My heart broke for omega Leo and his struggles- the abuse and being taken advantage of. Of having no one to care about him, having to go hungry, and barely any money for suppressants, let alone struggling to pay rent and a loan shark, avoiding unwanted advances at work, and a boss's cruelty. Alpha Nolan is intimidating, and not a good man per se, but steps in to protect Leo, and when Leo's heat has him begging, Nolan doesn't let the opportunity pass. Poor Leo's self esteem is very low, and doesn't feel worthy of Nolan's care or hospitality. Oh, but their chemistry is scorching and I liked the way their relationship developed.
I was hooked. This is the first book I've read by this author and I will be reading more. 5 stars.
I really enjoyed reading about Leo's story. When we met Leo he's working as wait staff in a strip club in a world that seems dark and intimidating. From the start we see Leo is attracted to Nolan the club boss but he knows his place and doesn't feel he's worthy of anyone because of his current situation. He's being threatened by a mob boss who says he owes a debt his brother took out in his name, he has no spare money for food and is extremely alone. One night Leo is threatened in an alley by a regular customer who wants his body but he's rescued by Nolan just as his heat overtakes them both. The connection between Nolan and Leo is intense and the writing makes you feel like Nolan feels as much for Leo as Leo does for Nolan. There are some laughs out loud moments when Leo meets Nolan's family, the pizza got me! A thoroughly enjoyable read and I look forward to the next in the series.

This is a very enjoyable book set adjacent to the world of Omega Outreach Center, but with new characters and new situations. Leo is an omega in a vulnerable situation. Working in a strip club as a server, he is one step from being homeless and destitute. The working environment is hostile, but he needs the money to pay for rent in a dangerous run-down area and to repay his brother's debt from a loan shark. He dreams about the club owner, Nolan, but he knows it is only a dream.
Nolan, an alpha, has noticed Leo from Day 1, but he wants to study the new business he has taken over and understand any issues for employees and customers. He hopes to approach Leo once he is settled in, but when Leo goes into heat unexpectedly, he jumps in the help him. After the heat, both men want to explore a potential relationship, but Leo is skittish and secretive about what is going on in his life. Nolan has some family secrets of his own. This book is a fun, quick read with a truly satisfying HEA.

OMG!! I absolutely was astounded reading this book that twist was epic, the story was written well and the characters were sensational. Nolan Rockford is an Alpha he owns a Gentleman's Club, he has been catching up with work. Leo is an Omega he works at a Gentleman's Club he works the floors serving drinks, he is infatuated with the owner. Leo is getting harassed by one of the patrons and Nolan came and helped Leo out. Leo had a little accident and Tony the bar manager sent Leo home, Leo was stressing he needs to pay the loan shark and his rent he felt his life was only getting worse. The heat between Nolan and Leo was hot and only got hotter.

This was a cute story of Leo pining for his boss and trying to avoid a customer harassing him, while keeping his omega pheromones and heat suppressed as he worked in a strip club. When the customer catches him outside the club, his boss appears and rescues him, just as his heat begins. Taking him home and through his heat, Leo’s boss doesn’t want to let him go in case he could be pregnant. Is Leo pregnant, is Nolan everything Leo thinks, will Nolan protect Leo and keep him safe, will Leo’s other problems tear him away from Nolan? Only time will tell. Short story with interesting characters, some unexpected twists and some heat. An entertaining read for an afternoon.

MM HEA OMEGAVERSE/CRIME FAMILY/HEATS/MPREG/VIOLENCE STRICT TOP/BOTTOM SINGLE 1ST PERSON POV MILD ANGST 3 OUTTA 5 IN THE 🌶🌶🌶 DEPARTMENT
This quick pace romance is everything you didn't know you needed in a love story. Nieve Omega, Leo, who is infatuated with the owner of the club, Nolan, he works at to pay off his brother's debt, is about to have his world rocked. An unexpected heat, a maybe pregnancy, a mating bite, and plunged into being with a member of a crime family, Leo finds out there is more going on around him than he could have ever guessed. Him being a key element in starting to solve a puzzle, the Rockford family has no understanding of the level of corruption happening in their city. Will Leo's doubts about deserving love derail his relationship with Nolan or will he get his unexpected HEA???
We don’t get a deep dive into the world of Leo and Nolan but we get a perfect amount of background to set the scene and to leave you wanting more books about the rest of Nolan’s family.
The heat at first didn’t hit with me (no real explanation for Leo’s attraction to Nolan) but as I got into the story it got better. Not too much and not too little.
Little bit of relationship angst but it’s over quickly and does serve the plot - leading into the action and solving the who and why - at least to a degree- with enough loose ends to help fuel the next book.
Quick read and very entertaining. I’m looking forward to more in the series.
