I have been honored to not only read, but to hear many of these poems, spoken aloud in the poet's own voice. Massaro's poems delve into many aspects of nature and history while always incorporating a human element, making the experience both intimate and universal. Massaro's paintings, carefully chosen and placed at the start of each section (early, ripening, and at last), add even more depth, beauty, and detail to this collection.
