[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, werewolves, HEA] Alpha wolf Enzo Carrara just woke up in an arena where he's expected to fight and kill a wild and vicious panther to save his own life. The prize for winning? The gorgeous young man chained to the floor of the arena. He can't remember exactly how he got there, but he's not interested in a mate, especially one so young. Regardless, he will do everything he can to protect Danny in the arena. Omega wolf Danny McKay was kidnapped after searching for his missing twin, and now he finds himself being given to an alpha, and expected to mate with him so that their captors can have a good show. When Enzo wins again, Danny and Enzo can no longer deny the attraction that's brewing between them. Even if this is only temporary, even if help is never coming, then at least they can comfort each other while fighting for their lives as slaves in a vampire's nest. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

The weirdest instalment of The Pregnant Mate but still an enjoyable read :)
Enzo and Danny's story was the least developed IMHO and the connection between the rebellious Alpha and the brave, cheeky Omega was somewhat strained. It is book 9 in the series after all, so maybe the Author just came a little bit short of ideas with the obstacles thrown at our werewolf MCs... I didn't mind the plot, though. The Alpha, Enzo, is still protective and strong, and the Omega, Danny, sweet but also very unusual as for his status in a pack...
Oh yeah. This is how you do it. I’m amazed at how much better in terms of writing and characterization this was than the two books I read earlier (A Wolf to Set Him Free & Cowboy Heart) – and better than the less enjoyable ones in this very series too. Despite it being an arena plot, the bleakness never overtook, and – more importantly – the protagonists were absolutely likeable and consistently caring towards one another. And they made sense!
Very nice indeed, even if I am getting a little tired of the series’ repetitive theme. I’m just glad things bounced back from the meh quality of some of the volumes.
I should just note that it’s kind of odd to briefly interrupt a sex scene to check in with a non-protagonist and his sexual fantasy. I get wanting to place the hook somewhere, but splitting a main sex scene for this? Huh.
But that reminds me. Maybe it’s just in direct comparison to the two books I did not like earlier today, but the sex scenes were actually nice as well. Not rushed and not done to death either. What a nice change.
3.5 Stars ~ same old, same old story, but in a comforting way. Enzo is completely hot and Danny is adorably sweet and loving. There were some glaring inconsistencies, so improved editing is definitely required. However, since it's my brain candy, I just ignored it and read the book.
I realize that the general overall story is important but even with Enzo and Danny being trapped in a room together, there was no in depth relationship development. I was a little disappointed in the details but the basic story I liked.
