GAP

Rate this book
Is the earth only 6,000 years old, or could it be much older? The Gap deals with a controversial Bible doctrine referred to as the gap theory. The idea God created heaven and earth in verse 1, and then destroyed it all in verse 2- is a subject of much debate. If the gap theory is correct, it essentially means an indeterminate span of time (or gap) exist in-between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. And then God recreated the universe in six days as recorded in the remaining verses of the chapter. There is an opposing point of view to the gap. Many Christians believe God did not cancel his original creation, and no elapse of time between and transpired. This Bible study’s purpose is to present scriptural evidence supporting the gap did indeed happen. Although this is an extremely interesting and important subject, it should not become a test of fellowship. The Judgment seat of Christ will, no doubt, settle who’s right and who’s wrong on several issues.
