Marchetti Family #3

Ruined in Vows

Rate this book
Being the only daughter of one of the most powerful mafia families on the east coast, my life was pretty much planned out for me. An arranged marriage to the son of another powerful family. But my heart had other plans.

For as long as I could remember I loved Dante Vitale, my brother’s best friend but he only saw me as a little sister. Until he didn’t. Our love was real, pure and I was prepared to go against my papa’s wishes for the man I loved. But then tragedy struck and in the blink of an eye, he was taken away from me before we even began. When Dante took his left breath, I took mine. I was a ghost of myself, here in body but not mind. And now, I don’t care what happens to me.

I embrace the darkness, pushing forward with the marriage my papa had planned and not caring what happens to me… Until I meet him.

Now everything I believed is now being brought into question. Time is running out, the clock ticking. Do I fight for my future, for him, or do I keep my family safe?

My name is Allegra Marchetti.
And this is my story.

What it’s about:
He’s her older brother’s best friend and second in command, and she’s a mafia princess who’s 1000% off limits, but when soul's call to one another, it's impossible to ignore. But with her father’s passing an impossible hurdle is placed between them, and while they’re trying to figure out a way through, the worst happens. But does this tragedy mean the end to their love affair?

My Review:
This is the third installment to the Marchetti Family Series by this author. While I think you COULD read this as a standalone, I don’t recommend it as there are lots of threads that are interconnected to the first two books in this series. (I.e. the beginning might be slightly confusing).

I loved this book. Honestly, the amnesia trope usually doesn’t do it for me, but this was so unique and well done- no notes. I loved Allegra and Dante, their love and connection leaped off the page. The story’s progression was wonderful, I didn’t find myself bored at any point and if it had been a physical book, I probably would have had a papercut from flipping the pages so fast!

Thank you Kelly Kelsey for access to this book, it was truly a blessing!

Allegra's book.

It was absolutely everything it was promised to be and more.

We met Allegra and Dante in Nico and Ocean's duet, and with everything in me, I so badly wanted them to get their happy ending. But with the way things ended, it looked like that died along with Allegra's heart.

In Ruined in Vows, Allegra is set to marry the ruthless Riccardo until she goes to Vegas with Nico and her family on her disguised 'bacherlotte trip' She meets a man that tilts her world on its head.

My heart has never felt so broken and put back together again before. The angst and heartbreak were a real thing. I truly felt for Allegra, Dante, and well....Luca. The utter suspense of the story had me leaning forward in my seat as if I could find all the answers in just that movement alone.

Well done, Kelly as this one struck me right where it hurts and heals all at once.

I absolutely 💯 recommend! 👌

Dante and Allegra have a devastatingly beautiful tale . Their love was put to the test when Allegra suffered the floss of Dante. Becoming numb from her broken heart and rather helping her family by marrying a sworn enemy then trying to find love again. Allegra’s devotion and love for Dante is timeless. And the pain you feel when reading her devastation is heartbreaking. But when given a second chance to be with the love of her life the feeling, their connection is stronger than anything. This was absolutely beautiful and was a heart wrenching read.

We finally got Allerga & Dante’s story after meeting these two in Nico & Ocean’s duet & Kelly didn’t disappoint! This books was a roller coaster of emotions, Kelly had broken my heart & put it back together.

I loved the characters, Allerga & Dante are about perfect for each other! & I love that we got to see some familiar faces in this one!

As always Kelly’s spice is top tier! She never fails when it comes to the spicy scenes.

I highly recommend reading Dancing In Sin & Twisted In Obsession to get the full experience of Allerga & Dante’s story!

Allegra is a shell of a person without Dante, she has agreed to an arranged marriage her father signed the contract for before he died. Knowing that he is behind some of the things happening to the Marchetti family, she is marrying him to go undercover because she doesn't have anything to lose after losing the love of her life. Her brother Nico has to go to Las Vegas on some business, afraid to leave his family he decides it's best if they come with him so he can protect them better.

Allegra is using this trip as her bachelorette party before she ties the knot to the man known for his brutality against women. After they arrive her momma Valentina wants to go to the fountain before they leave in a couple of days. At the fountain, time stops when Allegra comes face to face with someone who takes her breath away. She can't believe her eyes; she thinks she is dreaming until Valentina says his name. Caught in a web of lies and deceit, Allegra must fight to bring back a ghost from the past.

I wanted to love everything about this book, but I couldn't get past the dirty talk. It was nearly identical to the way Nico talked to Ocean. I couldn't get the image out of my head once I noticed and was kind of grossed out that he was saying the same things to Nico's sister as Nico would say to his wife. Other than that small hump I had to overcome, I enjoyed reading the story of Allegra and how deep her love for Dante went. I am so happy that she got the happy ending that she deserved. This series is for those who enjoy dark mafia romance with all the dominant, obsessive, and possessive men who have a soft loveable side that only their soulmate sees. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Ruined in Vows” is the third and final instalment in the “Marchetti Family Series.” Allegra has loved her brother’s best friend Dante for as long as she can remember. When he is killed in a fire at her brothers nightclub, her heart is broken. With not caring what happens to her she agrees to the arrange marriage organised by her father. “An arranged marriage to Riccardo Romano. A man notorious in our world - and not in a good way - for his treatment of women. My brother hates him. And though I have never met him, his reputation is enough to make me feel the same way.” Nico, her brother, also believes that Riccardo, working with the Bratva, is responsible for what happened to both Ocean and Dante. “So, Riccardo can inflict all the pain he wants, and I will take it. Because you can’t hurt someone that is already dead.”

Allegra is using Nico’s trip to Las Vegas as a bachelorette party. Whilst walking around the famous Bellagio fountains with her mum and her friend Athena plus five guards, she sees a ghost! A face she never thought she would see again - her Dante! “A range of emotions flicker inside me. Disbelief. Alarm. Anxiety. Guilt. Anger. Shock. But the most predominant one is fear. Because the man I love, the one who loved me in return is looking at me like I am a complete stranger.”

Is this person really Dante or Luca as he says? What do you do if you are given a second chance with your soulmate even if they do not remember you? You do what any Marchetti would do, you FIGHT! So many questions to be answered! So much intrigue …. so many unanswered questions!

This book is a standard Mafia Romance stories, it is dark in places, violent at times, passionate in places, full of secrets, loyalties tested and let’s not forget the heat between Dante and Allegra. The chemistry between these two are off the page! A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

This third book, 'though I haven't read the first two got me interested and intrigued when I stumbled upon it and read the blurb. A new author for me too. The plot and the writing got me hooked. Only to be disappointed greatly by a scene around 30% I guess. The fountain scene in Vegas.

I don't want to spoil anything since this is a newly published book, but I couldn't help but rant a bit about a scene I deem ridiculous and stupid. "Luca" a male character with all the questions, confusions and turmoil boggling his head, had been wanting for some answers and truths. He had his chance already, but instead chose to act stupidly. If not for the insistence of the other party, he would have just left it alone, forgetting that one thing he strongly felt in the first place, why he had stumbled upon that chance. I'd leave it at that. You'd get what I'm trying to point out when you read that part.

This scene could have been played out differently instead of the usual cliched typical reaction by "Luca", normally seen in soaps.

Depiction of the past on how their relationship came to be and developed, was jumbled, left gaps, hampering me from appreciating the thrill and excitement of how they got to be.

I've got more issues but I couldn't elaborate so as not to spoil. Some scenes that were supposed to be highlights and important were kind of flat.

Nevertheless good writing. An engaging and interesting read.

Ruined Vows

Kelly Kelsey did it again with the 3rd installment of the Marchetti Famiglia series! I highly recommend reading the first 2 books to get a better understanding. The second book in this series ends on a cliffhanger and that’s where Ruined takes place.

This story revolves around Allegra the sister of mafia don Nico (who we get to know in first 2 books) and her upcoming arranged marriage to Ricardo a cruel and wicked man. She lost the love the of life and Nico’s right hand man Dante in a fire. All is lost and she insists on marrying Ricardo to figure out if he was behind Dante’s death so they can take him down without the back lash from the commission. Little does she or Nico know, not all is what it seems. I don’t want to give the plot away but mannnn it was good!!! Kelly wrote an amazing story!! It does end with a HEA! I look forward to more books from this author!! I hope we get a book featuring Valentina (Nico and Allegra’s mother) and also Allegra’s friend Athena🤣. She is my favorite side character!!

I love reading mafia stories and this story is one of my favorites!

Allegra is a strong, resilient woman that experiences all the pain and turmoil of losing the love of her life. However, when she finds out about her arranged marriage with a vicious, cruel man, she stands her ground as a mafia daughter. Allegra loves her family and do whatever it takes to protect her family. Little does she know all the truths she will uncover within a few months before marrying a monster.

Allegra is fully devoted to her soul mate, Dante. Reading about her losing him is so devastating but her love story is not over! This story is full of action, suspense, steamy passion, and the importance of having faith that everything will workout in the end.

Highly recommend reading this story if you love mafia stories! It can be read as a standalone but, definitely read the first Two stories to get the full experience!

Oh wow I honestly loved this book. Dante and Allegra were such a great couple that came alive on the page for me.

When Mafia princess Allegra is promised in an arranged marriage to a monster, Dante who is feared dead and her brother Nico race to stop it.

So much heart stopping action and suspense in this book. Allegra was smart and stubborn but always knew she wanted her brother's best friend Dante. But when she thought Fate had stepped in, Hope had been lost.

I loved the dynamic of the different characters and the love of the family unit. Especially the moment when they are each other again was shocking but sublime.

So well done I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The plot was compelling and that story line just kept me involved till the very end.

Amazing book and I want more!

A wild rollercoaster ride

[eARC Naughty Nook PR] This is book 3 in the Marchetti Family series and it would be better to read books 1 and 2 in the series about Nico and Ocean before moving onto Dante and Allegra’s book.

Allegra is suffering from the loss of the love of her life, Dante. Prior to her father’s death, Allegra was offered in an arranged marriage to a monster. Suffering from the loss of Dante, Allegra agrees to the union, knowing that she will endure anything to keep her family safe now that Dante is no longer with her.

Luca enters the picture and feels an instant connection to Allegra.

There is not much more that can be commented on that would not give away the storyline.

There is pain and loss, and learning to live and love again. Add in some spice and this was an enjoyable book.

Book 3 of the Marchetti family series, this book focuses on Allegra and Dante.

After being forced into an arranged marriage with an terrible man, Allegra decides to help her family by being the mafia daughter she was born to be.

This story is a mafia romance about two souls that were always connected and meant to find each other no matter what.

This book is full of secrets, action, and spice. I thouroughly enjoyed reading all 3 books in the Marchetti series, but I think this one was my favorite! The author did such a good job with Allegra and Dante’s story and I highly recommend this series! My heart felt so full after I finished this and I am excited to read more books by Kelly Kelsey

Be sure to read books 1 & 2 so that you can have a better understanding of everything in book 3.

"To the women who refuse to break and who fight every single day to keep a smile on their face. Never settle for less than you deserve. This hero is an alpha cinnamon roll who will do everything in his power to make her his. And we are all worthy of the same."

"“You have exactly one second to take your fucking eyes off her before I put a bullet in your head,” Dante growls, striding toward him with his gun aimed directly at his skull." He so protective  of her 😍😍😍

i devoured this book in a few hours as i was hooked to the story line but i do need to read the first 2 books in this series to get the full idea of the Marchetti family.

i literally adore Allegra and Dante, their love and their connection was just so perfect!! i cant wait till i read more from this author

When I say I devoured this book, I mean that literally! From the very beginning, I didn't want to put it down, and even when I got to the last page, I just couldn't let it go! This is a top read for the entire year and one I can definitely see myself reading more than once, which is seriously rare for me. The plot was filled with action and suspense and had me eagerly waiting to see what would happen next or how this would actually unfold. The love between Allegra and Dante is pure, devoted, and everything you could wish for. What they endured was heartbreaking, but their hea was everything! This book was so much more than I could have e imagined!

Ruined in Vows is full of twists and drama that keep you hooked from start to finish. Allegra’s willingness to put herself on the line for the people she loves is truly admirable, and Dante’s love for her manages to shine through even the craziest situations. The romance definitely brings the feels!

That said, the characters felt a bit flat. I wish we’d gotten to know them better beyond the main plot. A little more personality and depth would’ve made the story hit harder.

Overall, it’s a solid read. If you’re into high-stakes romance with plenty of twists, this one’s worth a shot!

This is third instalment in Marchetti Famiglia series, it could be read as stand alone, but you may enjoy it more if you read first two books which brought us Nico and Ocean’s story.
This book brings us Allegra’s story. I won’t go into more detail on the plot as it would spoil the book for you. But if you have read previous books in the series you know what happened and this book picks from that point. The story is gripping and there are some unexpected twists. Kelly has incredible way of engrossing her readers into her books. Once again her book was impossible to put it down.

Darkness in Her Heart

Absolutely captivating! This was a long time coming and I was not disappointed. Allegra and Dante's forbidden love was designed to weather the storm, but in the last book, tragedy struck. Allegra, lost to the darkness left in her heart, agrees to an arranged marriage she once feared. This story was heartbreaking and filled with danger. It was suspenseful and surprising as twists and turns kept me invested in both the characters and the overall plot. I could not put it down.

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily leave this review.

I’m so glad that I was able to snag this early. Going into this book I was a little sad because I wanted more Nico and Ocean… but I was wrong (and I’m a Scorpio, so I rarely admit that)

Dante is definitely in the running for book boyfriend of the year. His love for Allegra through everything is one of the sweetest (yet dirtiest 😉) plot lines I’ve read in a long time.

I was considering posting spoilers, but if you’ve read the first two books (and I highly suggest you do), you’ll want to enjoy it for yourself. If you’ve haven’t, it’s best to fly blind.

Allegra and Dante’s story is a whirlwind of action, suspense, drama, emotional turmoil, violence, passion and love. Right from the start, these two had me in a chokehold and on the edge of my seat hoping that they would get their happy ending. But a happy ending is not always easy to achieve. Allegra and Dante go through a lot of heartbreak before they can heal, forgive and find love.

Really well written with a plot filled with twists and turns and shocking revelations keeping you in suspense the whole way through.

I loved it.

4.5 ⭐️/ 2 🌶️

I have always loved Kelly's work and this book made me realize why.
The heartbreak, the angst, and the emotional turmoil Allegra experiences are nothing short of incredible. But I loved every minute of it. 💔

Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest reading the previous duet first. It offers a deeper understanding of Allegra and Dante’s history, giving their journey in this book even more emotional weight. Trust me, it makes the experience so much richer!

Ruined In Vows is book 3 in The Marchetti Family series and is Allegras story. This is the book I've been waiting for. After Twisted In Obsession I was completely heartbroken for Allegra and was left wondering just how this author could possibly fix it. Let me tell you, she fixed it in grand fashion! This story is an emotional, angsty, intense, nail biter that had me on the edge of my seat all the way through.

Ruined In Vows is the third book in the Marchetti Family series. I absolutely loved this book being back with the characters. After losing Dante in the previous book, Allegra is heartbroken. She is looking to help out the family and agrees to the arranged marriage. When away with the family she sees a familiar face in the crowd. A heartbreaking and action packed story, I highly recommend this book.

I don't know what to say without giving it away. But Dante and Allegra have a heck of a journey finding their way back to each other. This is incredibly written and so easy to get lost in. This has been my favorite book of the series thus far. I liked that we still got to see previous characters and the world continues seemlessly even when following a different couple . It was filled with twists, drama, spice and heart.

Kelly Kelsey did it again! I asked her to bring on Allegra’s story and she did not disappoint! There is so much going on, who to trust, the twists and turns. Allegra’s heart is broken after the ending of Twisted Obsession so will she go through with the arranged marriage her father signed her up for? You have got to read this to find out, you will not be disappointed.

This book is really great. It is going to grab you from the get go and you will not be able to put it down until you are finished the last page. It moves along at a pace that is perfect for the flow of this story, has intersting characters and a story that will not disappoint. It is a must read, no doubt about it.
