Action! #15

Saying Goodbye

Rate this book
When trust is shattered and bonds are broken, sometimes forgiveness simply isn't enough.

The men of the Action! Series have always been sexually driven- powerful and loyal. But that loyalty has been put to the ultimate test.
With twenty-four year old Alexander Richfield away in Rome starring in his first feature film, Bedtime Stories, his husband, forty-four year old, LAPD Captain Billy Sharpe’s frustration and anger over rumors in the tabloid press about Alex’s supposed exploits, bring Billy to a breaking point.
Adam Lewis, agent to the stars, and husband of Jack Larsen, feels obligated to invite a group of their close friends to the mansion in Paradise, California. The estate his and Jack’s lover, Mark Antonious Richfield grew up in, which was recently bought by Adam’s client and friend, Ewan Gallagher. Knowing the estate creates stress for Mark, Adam tries his best to pretend this is a weekend with the boys, and it’s all in good fun.
Steven Jay Miller, Mark’s husband, is still raw over Mark’s actions to keep his son Alexander’s role in the feature film secure. Mark had to grant sexual favors to Alex’s co-star, Randy Dawson to right a wrong Steve and Billy had stupidly made, threatening Randy to keep away from Alex. An act Steve cannot move on from.
And as the men around him suffer from his actions, Mark Antonious Richfield begins to deteriorate and self-destruct.
Trust shatters…love is tested…and even the strongest ties can be severed.

Why lawd? WHY??!!? The first few books-- interesting enough. AND then shit jumped the shark and I started finding the whole cast of characters completely obnoxious so I stopped reading. I saw this book come up in my news feed and being curious where things were in this world I decided to pick it up.

Bad, bad, bad news.

This series has gotten to the point that I should just say no. Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't make it any prettier-- just more ridiculous.

For future reference in case I find myself tempted again: Step AWAY. AWAYYYYYYYYYYYY!

These books are centered around the most selfish and manipulative character ever. They keep saying the chain of events were because of Billy and Steve's action over Randy. I disagree, Mark did not have to sleep with Randy he had a choice. Randy set his choice wouldn't influence Alex.

Why is all Mark's infidelities meaningless, just because he had a crappy dad and though himself worthless. So freaking sorry that you have an amazing husband that forgives you anything. More friends than you can count, even a great child. Also must be really tough being the hottest man in the world. Why does he deserve any sympathy.

I may have said it in a previous review, but do not read this novel if you have read the previous Hauser novels and loved the characters. She manages to wreck a lot of couples in these novels. What was her purpose.

My saving grace is Adam, he was the one that continually got screwed over. He mentions that he is fourth on Jack list and I agree. Maybe even lower. I wished he ended up with someone else entirely. I hated how Mark manipulated him into talking to Jack. Saying he felt so guilty and it was all his fault not shortly after a suicide attempt. Can you really say no and risk him offing himself.

There is so much cheating I feel desensitised. I'm very sensitive when it comes to cheating as I'm the definition of committed, where novels actually leave me wrecked after someone cheats. I feel the pain for the MC. *Thinking of Mel Bossa's novel*. In this series I think "OH he is cheating again, big deal".

I actively stopped reading Hauser yrs ago. mark just became much to whiney and needy. the men helped him oh enabled is the word him. in this book Hauser has reached down into the dregs to put out ...I'm actually not certain what to call this book. all the "sharing" of mark because baby needs to be shown love...baby needs psychiatric help. I think at some point in GA Hauser life she was cheated on, Maureen attempting suicide Cornwall know or care tbh. the scenarios she has mark and the husband's in must have been what the pre-aids 70-80's were like for Randy young gays.
I deeply enjoyed the first few bks then the sex got in the way...
perfect mark with his to die for body that housed that magnificent penis. I would have liked to see the 40+ yr olds acting as such but no, the link of uniforms but Steve not "getting" how hot it makes mark, but Billy his dick dressed up to play seat and basically goes wild on mark because Alex is in Rome and make weakly saying no beaches hot n bothered that Billy does what he wants just to be able to brag he had father and son. that's some shit right there. all because uniforms trips marks trigger. M being forced to revisit his sold home because Adam said so.....this goes to m needing a keeper or three if we Believe the writing, and revenge sex well we all know that always ends well because why not. at this point my eyes were rolling so much I sprained them.
jetting off to Rome to fuck made sense, Steve backing out because well he's just not worldly enough and loves m but fantasizing about his stepson...yeah that's not creepy at all, jacking off on Skype then guilt rears... surprised me thought the writer didn't know that feeling. s and j XXX scenes with a in Rome. what the heck fisting shouldn't be rushed but jack had no problem put this had inside Alex....guess he knew about the double anal penetrating that was about to happen. the od? no sympathy for the whack job! the forgiveness that happened please totally unrealistic just like 98% of this book. and the dream come sequence of m about his dad. Makes me wonder if there will be a bk that deals with his repressed memory's of his daddy making him his beautiful girl. then feeling disgusted with himself for tapping his young beautiful son he goes into homophobic denial....guess mom was a cold ONE. I can truthfully say this was a total let down. I had stated bk 20 and will review that but poke me with the fork folks I'm done! do not waste your time I know this bk is yrs old but save your self.

Very emotional story. Lovers finding out that fantasy's are not what they live up to be. Glad all the secrets are out and now Mark and his men can move forward. Hope that Billy, Steven, and Jack can make up as well. Enjoyed the story coming full circle and hope Ms. Hauser will keep the stories coming.

If G.A. was within reach right now, I don't know if I'd slap her for making me cry my eyes out as I read this book or kiss her for the great story. I'd probably do both. All I can say more on this story? It was bloody brilliant!

Where's the loyalty ?

Where's the loyalty ?

First what made this book tolerable, is that there was a good dose of Mickey and Jeff. I adore those two more than anything.A lot of the other couples could learn thing or two about commitment and true devotion, from Mickey and Jeff.

Secondly, Mark is a pure whore; I am so sick of the " woe is me" @ some point GA has to stop trying to get the readers to feel bad for Mark.

Thirdly, Billy and Alex I don't feel bad for neither one of those guys. They cheated to be together not surprised they cheated on each other. Those tattoos are lol laughable.

Lastly, Adam needs to find someone who adores him. He gets scrapped on in every book. Jack loves Mark more actions scream louder than words.

This book was very good and infuriating at times. I am waiting for another Jeff and Mickey book ASAP

Writing yourself into the story kills it for me.
Other than that it is perfectly fine addition to the series, nothing new or groundbreaking. A couple of typos, passed vs past shouldn't slip by the editor.
I might be winning the OCD battle because this is the end of the Action! road for me.
