Wyoming Undercover Escape by Juno Rushdan Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty and Honor series book #3. Harlequin Intrigue. Police procedural crossed with a bit of romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone but characters from prior books make appearances. Rip Lockwood is a former marine Special Forces and president of the Iron Warriors motorcycle club. Rip made a promise to protect Ashley Russo years ago. As a detective, she’s made it her goal to find and bring to justice, the person who killed her brother. That man is the dangerous leader of a rival motorcycle club, dealing with illegal goods and connections to a cartel. He’s not afraid of Ashley or Rip but they have the FBI on their side.
A fast moving action and suspense story that will leave you breathless. Justice, heroes, and a smidge of romance. He brings her tacos, candles and bath oils. And then helps her even though she can handle it herself. Who wouldn’t fall in love? Pulse pounding and riveting.
This well-crafted story captivated me from the beginning with its edgy perspective of the president of a motorcycle club being the self-appointed protector of a deputy. Rip Lockwood swore to protect Ashley Russo after her brother was killed, but he had no idea when he made that promise the danger the two of them would face together. The pace races at a breakneck speed from one intensely dangerous situation to another. Rip wants to bring down a rival leader of another club and Ashley wants to bring Todd down, too, because she blames him for her brother’s death. Going undercover as drug users may not be the smartest thing they can do, but it was one way to find out the truth. The story is relevant as well as intriguing as the two continue to pursue the same ultimate goal, just not always the same way. I enjoyed the way the characters related to one another and the way the book was written to be a page-turner. I would get to the end of the chapter, but I still couldn’t put the book down because the action and suspense were non-stop. The action is balanced with some somewhat steamy romance and the entire book offers a compelling story of good versus evil. Wyoming Undercover Escape is a romantic thrill that has two unlikely characters pairing together. Juno Rushdan has given the reader the most exciting book of the series so far with Rip Lockwood and Ashley Russo going after a despicable character whose illegal activities knew no boundaries. Rip Lockwood, former marine Special Forces and president of the Iron Warriors motorcycle club is not a character that I would expect to be the hero of a law enforcement story and yet he is. Thanks to Ms. Rushdan’s writing the story worked for me.
Deputy Ashley Russo was brave, and determined even if she had too little experience with the undercover work, she threw herself into. Rip was there which made it all work. This is a story where no one can really be trusted much like the awesome Final Hour Series by this same author. The suspenseful plot is as important as the romance with the blending of the two well done. Romantic suspense readers needed to put this author on their must be read list, Wyoming Undercover Escape is one example why. Highly recommend.
Terrific book that drew me into the suspense quickly and kept me hooked until the end. Rip and Ashley are connected by a tragic event that happened years ago. Ashley blames Rip, and he accepts the guilt. Now a deputy, Ashley is determined to bring her brother's killer to justice. Rip left the Marine Corps to take over leadership of the local motorcycle club and finds out about Ashley's plans.
Rip and Ashley have been at odds ever since her brother's murder. However, Rip has never forgotten his vow to protect her and is determined to keep her safe. This entails attempting to rein in her plans (not happening) or going along with her. Sometimes, I wanted to shake her because of the risks she took. The scene at the bar had me on the edge of my seat as she walked into the lion's den. The consequences of that excursion led to a rollercoaster of action that kept me glued to the pages until the end. The twists kept me guessing what would happen next, all the way to the nail-biter of an ending.
I enjoyed seeing Ashley and Rip's relationship develop. Underneath the antagonism and guilt is a strong attraction neither wants to admit. They've managed in the past by avoiding each other. Now that they spend so much time together, those sparks are more difficult to ignore. Trust grows between them, and their feelings grow stronger, but there are obstacles, too. Rip believes a relationship between the president of a motorcycle club and a deputy would be detrimental to her career, plus the after-effects of their actions make it impossible for Rip to remain there. I loved the resolution and the neat little twist at the end.
My only complaint with the book is that Harlequin editors consistently neglect the proper capitalization of the word Marine when referring to a member of the United States Marine Corps.
This is the 3rd book in the “Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty And Honor Series.” I have read several books by Juno Rushdan and she never disappoints. I love her writing style, well-developed characters and her plots are load with suspense, mystery, mayhem, twists, turns, action packed page turning adventure, witty situations and romance leaving her readers waiting for her next book to arrive. Rip is a former marine who was with Special Forces. He is now the president of the Iron Warriors motorcycle club. Ashley is a detective with the local police department. When Ashley was a teenager and her brother was killed Rip vowed to protect and keep safe even while he was away in the Marines. Ashley has made it her purpose in life to avenge her brother’s death. Rip and Ashley go undercover to find out who supplying Rip’s rivals with drugs and they are prepared to take them down as they have the FBI on their side. I love the attraction, chemistry, romance, love and camaraderie between Rip and Ashley. These two are perfect for each other. Waiting patiently for the next book in this series. This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading books 1 and 2 in this series you will be disappointed.
I received an ARC via the author Juno Rushdan and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
As a self-proclaimed romantic suspense junkie, I’m officially a hard-core Juno Rushdan fan now. I found her about five and a half years ago, and so far, I haven’t found a book of hers that I didn’t devour in only a few hours. I always know her books will be full of action, suspense, twists, turns, and thrills and will leave me begging for more. Wyoming Undercover Escape is the third book in her newest series, Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty and Honor, and I am officially here for every fast-paced romantic suspense.
Ashley and Rip butt heads from the beginning, but their chemistry is undeniable despite the age gap. However, the story focuses more on the suspense than the romance, which I honestly prefer. This book’s plot was less mystery and more suspense, but it was well thought out, coming to a believable conclusion based on the characters’ circumstances. There’s nothing worse than a good suspense being ruined by a sloppy conclusion.
With lots of twists and turns, this romantic suspense immediately sucked me in, and it didn’t let go until the final page. If you’re a true romantic suspense fan like I am, do yourself a favor and grab this one today!
Amazing! Really i loved to see the perspective of Rip as a president of a motorcycle club with their own rules and how it influenced this ex military..... Since young Ripton is a protector but he made some sad choices and he is shouldering guilt when he was not really in fault of anything....for his brother's death and angelo's. However Rip always keep his promises and he vowed to protect Ahsley, even without her knowing. So when she get in danger trying to get justice for her brother, Angelo, death, he will have to take some risk and make decision to keep protecting her .
Ahsley is still young....a fierce deputy....but also sometimes a stupid girl. For years the president of the motorcycle visit her, offer her gifts and....she is just doubting him....worse she jump into action to have his cooperation without thinking one minute what the consequence could be. Now don't take me wrong she is intelligent, loyal but so focused on one goal that she put the rest aside not understanding the risks.... She is really lucky to have Rip even if she does not know it.
Really it was a wonderful read that kept you focused until the last page and i can't recommend it well enough. If you want a great romance suspense with bikers this is it!
This book packs a punch from beginning to end. It is full of suspense and tension. There is no mystery has to who the culprits are going to be, but their deadly games keep you on your toes. It seems there is nowhere safe.
Rip Lockwood is a former Marine special forces and president of the Iron Warriors motorcycle club. He swore his protection of Deputy Ashley Russo many years ago, even though she blames him for her brother's death. He will move heaven and earth to keep Ashley safe. Whereas, Ashley wants the man responsible for her brother's death to pay for his crime. She is full of sass and fearless, almost to the point of irresponsibility.
Rip and Ashley dance around their true feelings for one another as it is quite obvious the chemistry is present. There is plenty of action and some scary moments when you are not sure if the good guys will win this round. It was the perfect blend of intrigue, suspense and underlying romance.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the third book in the Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty and Honor series and it does not disappoint! Former Marine Special Forces Raider, Rip Lockwood, is President of the Iron Warriors Motorcycle Club and self-proclaimed protector of Deputy Ashley Russo. Ashley’s brother, Angelo, was killed and Ashley blames Rip for running away from responsibility when he could have prevented her brother’s death. Ashley wants Rip to help her bring down Todd Burk, the President of the Hellhounds Motorcycle club, a person heavily involved in organized crime, the man who is responsible for her brother’s death and out to get Rip! Rip has a “hero complex” and thinks that Ashley hates him. Ashley thinks she has feelings for Rip, and Rip possibly has feelings for Ashley, but he is so disciplined he thinks he must keep his feelings buried. Will Rip agree to help Ashley, and will they be able to bring down Todd Burk and his criminal enterprise? Also, will they be able to acknowledge their real feelings and have a real relationship? I highly recommend reading this action-packed suspenseful book to find out! I received an advance copy of this from the author for my voluntary review.
Rushdan masterfully balances the action-packed plot with the simmering romance between Rip and Ashley. Their undercover mission to infiltrate a dangerous crime ring is tense and gritty, but it’s the unexpected spark between them that truly shines. The slow build of their attraction feels organic, and their emotional connection adds stakes beyond the life-and-death scenarios they face.
The motorcycle club setting is richly drawn, immersing readers in a world where loyalty and danger collide. Rushdan’s attention to detail brings the gritty underworld to life while still highlighting the camaraderie and code of honor among Rip’s Iron Warriors.
Whether you’re a fan of romantic suspense, motorcycle club stories like Sons of Anarchy, or second-chance romance, Wyoming Undercover Escape delivers on all fronts. It’s thrilling, heartfelt, and utterly satisfying—a must-read for fans of Juno Rushdan or anyone looking for a romance with bite.
ARC review. Wyoming Undercover Escape by Juno Rushdan is the third in her Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty and Honor series. I loved this book. It is definitely my favorite in this series and most likely of all of Juno’s books. Juno’s writing style always pulls me in. I love her well developed characters whose interactions always thrill me and the fast moving, action packed storyline does not disappoint. The details both in character and plot development make my heart thump so loudly that the thumps are all that I can hear! I’ll be thinking a lot about Rip…oh and Ashley too as I wait for the next book in the series.
Another action packed story from Juno Rushdan. Rip is a former Marine who is president of a MC. Ashley is a deputy who is determined to bring her brother's killer, Todd Burk, to justice. Unfortunately, Rip swore that he would do everything in his power to keep her safe and having her target Burk is putting her and his oath to protect her in danger. Realizing that he can't stop, he decides to work with her. Working together makes sparks flare, and when they discover Burk's connection to a drug cartel, things go from bad to worse. Fast-paced action from the getgo. Can be read as a standalone, but much better to read previous books in the series.
Wyoming Undercover Escape is the 3rd book in the Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty and Honor series. Rip has been the self appointed protector for years of Ashley Russo doing his best to keep her safe. This romantic thriller had me turning the pages until the very end, once I started reading it. Can Rip continue to protect Ashley as she goes undercover to get the goods on a motorcycle gang where the leader is responsible for the death of her brother. We see Rip actually going against club rules as he tries to protect her. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
I received a ARC from the author and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Another in the Wyoming Undercover Escape series, in which former special forces marine Rip Lockwood has no choice in the matter. He has to do what he'd never wanted to do--get himself in trouble with the motorcycle gang he'd led. How? By protecting Deputy Sheriff Ashley Russo when she goes undercover to catch the man responsible for her brother's death years earlier. As a result, Rip also has to finally admit to himself and her and others that he loves Ashley. And duh, she loves him, too, but that means both are in danger from the retribution likely to be doled out by his former gang members and their enemies, too.
Will either of them survive what Ash has put into motion?
Wyoming Undercover Escape was such a spectacularly suspenseful read. It took me on quite the journey. Juno woved this story with true talent, with so many twist and turns, I never knew what would happen next. This constantly kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting and trying to figure out the mystery behind the thickening plot. If you love suspenseful romance, military and solving crime, I think you’ll love this one. Juno Rushdan has the capability to pull you into stories and keep you until the last page.
Another absolutely enjoyable read in the Wyoming series. Juno sure knows how to write an action packed suspenseful book that draws you in right from the beginning. There are a lot of twists and turns along the way. I enjoyed both characters Rip and Ashley as it was easy to root for them both. I also loved the wisdom that Ida shared! She was one kick butt grandmother type figure that i wish more authors would include in books! It’s not always about the young. Way to go Juno with another 5 star read!
I loved this book. It captured you from the first sentence to the very last. Rip Lockwood, former marine and president of the Iron Warriors motorcycle club has been protecting Ashley Russo for years. Ever since her brother was killed, he felt responsible for her but was that all it was. Now follow along with them as they try to clean up a rival motorcycle gang that commits all kinds of crimes. Will they stay alive long enough to realize it is more than her fallen brother that keeps him committed to protect her and keeps her wondering about him. You will not want to put this book down.
WOW, what a ride. Rip and Ashley took me through it. This is such a good story. When I say a page turner, I mean it. It was suspenseful from beginning to end.
Although they didn't know it, these two were destined to be together. Bound by tragedy and a common enemy, it was only a matter of time that these two finally got together. They both were willingly to sacrifice everything for each other and in a way, they did.
This is the 3rd book in the series, and so far my favorite.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Romantic Suspense That Will Keep You on the Edge of Your Seat
Was she looking for revenge, or justice? Rip promised to protect Ashley because he felt responsible for her brother’s death. Now, she was after a killer, and she might be crossing the line. She was about to enter dangerous territory. Would Rip be able to protect her when both their lives were on the line?
This is a riveting romantic suspense. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page until the very last. I look forward to what this brilliant author writes next.
I absolutely love Juno Rushdan’s books! She has a remarkable talent for seamlessly intertwining action, suspense, mystery, and romance into her thrillers, and Wyoming Undercover Escape is no exception!
Ashley and Rip have known each other for a long time, and while they've butted heads a few times, they must now team up to infiltrate their rival motorcycle club's lion's den to bring them to justice.
Juno Rushdan’s Wyoming Undercover Escape is a must-read for any fan of action-packed, fast-paced thrillers!
Wyoming Undercover Escape by Juno Rushdan is another outstanding story. Her ability to write a well-executed plot and create wonderful characters is truly unmatched. I highly recommend her books to anyone seeking a captivating and enjoyable reading experience.
My thanks to the author/publisher for the ARC of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review, and the thoughts contained herein are my own.
I absolutely enjoyed reading Wyoming Undercover Escape. Ms. Rushdan grabbed my attention from the very beginning to the end. Action packed, exciting, heart stopping suspense!! A roller coaster of a ride with unexpected twists and turns!! A page Turner for sure. I loved the awesome characters. Former marine Rip Lockwood was my very one. He was determined to protect Ashley Russo. A must read!! I was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
“Wyoming Undercover Escape” (Cowboy State Lawmen: Duty and Honor Book 3 of 6) by Juno Rushdan The Suspense is Riveting For me this was an unending suspense read; well, except the ‘spicier’ scenes which I skipped over (but maybe they were suspenseful, too!). Meanwhile there was always something happening or threatening to happen. I loved trying to guess how Rip or Ashley was going to react/handle each challenge. So, yup, I loved my time within this story. Happy Reading ! !
I’ll be honest, I usually avoid any book that revolves around MC’s or cults...and I felt my heart drop when I saw that this one featured the president of a MC. Yet, it’s a Juno Rushdan so I knew I was going to give it a go and I found myself emotionally attacked to Rip and Ash! Seven years lost to get justice...and each other in a wonderfully suspenseful and heart tugging story. Well done!
This book was well written and spell binding, I had been waiting for the end of (Todd) and the hellhounds, like ms.Ida said it's a thin line between love and hate, proves to be true as Ashes father said two little jelly beans is great!!! from boom,to bang, back to boom, great job as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh wow! This one was nonstop couldn’t put down!! Rip and Ashley have been at odds since Ashley’s brother died. She blames Rip and he vows to do anything to her safe in return. Now she is wanting Rips help to take down the guy who killed her brother. Can they keep each other safe? I loved this one. It may be my favorite of the series.
This is another amazing and spell binding book by Juno Rushdan! I absolutely love her characters and how well written they are. She brings the words on the page to life and I get to escape into another world for just a little while. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves characters that are intriguing and unique storylines.
Enjoyed this book but it’s more action than mystery or suspense. Really liked Rip’s story and character. Would enjoy a series based on people working for his Ironside protection services so we had some continuing glimpses of Rip. I wasn’t as enthralled with Ash but I did like them together. This book can easily be read standalone.
Finally! I’ve been waiting for the rival MC club to get their due throughout this series and Rushdan has written the perfect story to see that happen. The action keeps things moving with a nice balance of catching feelings. I can’t wait for the next installment. 4.5 stars
