I usually love Evas book but this was just meh🥱 My man Royce literally wasted 10 years of being a manwhore to finally see Willow as more than a friend. He only recently started to get obsessed with her when he realized that she was the only one for him. I just wished he could have taken his head out of his ass earlier instead of wasting time😓🫤🫠 I also felt there were some plot holes and questions we didn’t get answers to. For example, what is going to happen to Stuart's parents and the inheritance? Are Winston and Royce’s daughter going to get her own book and will we see the whole inheritance plot play out there?🤔
But overall this was a quick and light read compared to the other dark books Eva has written.
Safety:
-Owd: There is none. But I am not sure how long he has been obsessed with Willow. In one of the other Billionaire books in the series (Byron or maybe Winston's book?), it was mentioned that he was not celibate while stalking Willow but none of that stuff is mentioned here. There is no owd in this book just some jealous scenes about his past and Royce made it clear to Willow that none of mattered.
-Omd: Her fiance Stuart causes some drama and he purposely knocked Willow up to gain his inheritance from his grandfather
- No cheating
- The story ends with a hea and a sweet epilogue with their daughter and family members.

LOVED this 5th installment of the Billionaire Kings! I'm not a huge fan of friends to lovers, but we get solid reasons for the friend zone freeze, so it definitely made it easier. The mutual pining and other man drama added a lot of tension and buildup for some super hot smexy times later on in the book. Great story written in the fabulously complex world Eva Winners has created for us. This one was a little bit shorter and more straightforward than she usually writes, but it did not detract from the story at all. We get cameos of many of our favorite characters and introduced to a new character Asher, whom I'm sure we'll be seeing more of in the future. Definitely recommend!

Kinks of a Billionaire is book five in Eva Winners' Billionaire Kings series. A series which follows a different leading man in the mafia world down his own dark, debauched and dangerous journey, often picking up a woman on the way whom they weren't expecting, didn't want or tried their best at resisting their temptations.
Previously before this read, we were treated to Reign of a Billionaire , book four staring another Ashford brother, Kingston, and his leading lady Liana. A read which set out to impress and did just that in spades. From this, I had high hopes and a gut feeling that Kinks of a Billionaire would be the best that this series has to offer. Was my gut right, or did I fall a slave to my own expectations? Read on to find out.
For us fans of Eva Winners, we weren't kept waiting long between the previous release and this one. March to April, just over a month was indeed a treat. Not all readers are lucky enough to get a book from one of their favourites two months back-to-back, but this is what we got here and I was eager to dive into my ARC while in the midst of another. With this close release to its previous in the series, those events are still fresh in our minds so while we were reading all about Royce and Willow, there was no need to go back for a re-read before this ARC landed in our inbox. We could sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
Royce Ashford is the hottest man that Willow has ever met in her entire life. He's also the first man her heart has ever fallen for, and is the self-same man whom she's had a crush on for as long as she can remember. Oh, and he's also her best friend's older brother. Even to her, it's evident that he is a man that oozes charm, s3x appeal, being able to s3duce a saint as much as he can a s3x-craved woman. There's very little that the female population can do to resist his cocky grin, broad shoulders and filthy mouth. Simply put, Royce Ashford is a heartbreaker wrapped up in a sinfully s3xy leather jacket.
A man who has had a leading, starring role in Willow's fantasies that she wishes with every fibre of her soul were true. That she would experience those fantasies for real.
The day came when one of Willow's wishes came true, and she shared the kiss of a lifetime with Royce. Only, it didn't end how she had dreamed it would with them locked in a lover's embrace. Instead, it fast-tracked and locked her into the friend zone. So much for the skills of her lips but in her defence, age was against her with her being so young and lacking in experience of the opposite sex. That, she can't be blamed for.
Time though, was on her side. She grew up and used that time to get over the man who fully owned her heart. That is, until her engagement to another man ends in the worst possible way, and Royce--like the knight, dark knight, that he is--comes in and saves her from a fate that could have been a terrible end.
Being saved from a fate (almost) worse than death would usually be the better outcome but for Willow? It comes with an unexpected catch. She's falling for Royce all over again. Her lustful imagination is in overdrive and it isn't helped by the accidental glimpse of Royce's nak3dness. As are the numerous flying and infamous rumours about his k!nky tendencies that she has yet to experience all these years on.
Refusing to be a mere footnote in Royce's life story, Willow vows that if they're going to do this, if ever they give themselves a shot together, that they'd do it all. Together as one, they would go all the way.
Having been a long-time reader of Eva's and a lover of her work across multiple series' and standalones, I had high expectations (set by myself, of course), for this latest release. Whereas I enjoyed it on the whole (rating it 3.75 stars, still a strong rating), there were a few elements in which would have boosted it to a 4-4.5 or even the full 5 stars.
Given the name of the book, it was safe to assume that this would be a book full of k!nk, backed up by the numerous mentions of Royce's interest and dalliance in the world BDSM with his own personal k!nks. The k!nk, though present in a few pockets at the latter end of the book, wasn't spread out across the book and was more a mention of Royce's k!nks as an extension of his character. This isn't necessarily a bad thing and is not a criticism per se, but an observation. Going back again to the title of the book, I had assumed it would be full of k!nk instead of the minute inclusion. If you're down for that kind of thing, then this is definitely up your street to read. Where it might have lacked in this area for me as a reader, it will be someone else's cup of tea. Upping the k!nk factor would have earned this an additional 1 star.
Additionally, compared to other books in this series, I found this book scaled back in its dark nature. Again, this isn't a criticism but an observation from my reading experience. Considering the previous books in the series, I had expected this to follow in line (but with its own take) with that level of darkness. Again, this is purely down to me setting my own expectation, but it was a surprise for this to be a romance story set more away from all of the dangers of the world the Ashford brothers run in. Where it does occur, it's done brilliantly and with everything I have come to love and admire about Eva's writing. I just wish that it was spread over the whole story rather than in tiny pockets. Still, the isolating the two main characters from everyone was an interesting take, and I did get to see them for them and not the product of their environment or circumstances so...this balances out the lack of darkness. Inclusion of the darkness would have bumped it up at least the remaining 0.25 stars for the full 5.
It also would've been nice to see the full pregnancy and birth, but this wasn't a dealbreaker point that would affect a rating and/or review. Just a personal preference.
These points aside, I was far from disappointed with the book as a whole or with Eva as its author. I pride myself in being an honest reviewer and sometimes a book doesn't hit even with the most adoring readers and their favourite authors. I don't love Eva any less for these points, because this is a blip for my own reading journey with her and it has not put me off reading her work. If anything, I'm even more keen now to read her next release and show that book some love. If I didn't like this book at all, I wouldn't be leaving a review. But I do like it, and I am leaving a review.
If ever this book was re-visited and my points (if echoed by other readers) were tweaked ever-so-slightly, I'd be down for a re-read and a re-review of it to see if I can give this the stars that I know it has the potential to proudly bear.
This is the fifth book in the Billionaire Kings series, and this book follows Royce and Willow, she is his sisters best friend and his best friend, and a lot younger than him, in the past they shared a kiss, but they never talked about it more. Then somenthin happens ans he is with here while she is pregnant with another man child. Royce and Willow were perfect for each other in all the ways that they could be, they are made for each other, the love that they have has no words of explanation. I enjoyed this book, all the tropes, and their relationship. I can´t wait to read what comes next.
Tropes: - Not his baby - Best friends to lovers - Younger sister's friend - Second chance - Billionaire - Kinks and exploration - Age gap
I received an Arc copy in exchange of an honest review.
“Kinks of a Billionaire” is the story of Willow and Royce.
This book didn’t work for me. Maybe it was the friends to lovers plot while the MCs just kept sleeping with other people - maybe it was the hero suddenly realizing the heroine was “his” while they were both with mutiple other partners- maybe it was that we had to have an abusive ex who got the heroine pregnant to make the hero a savior- nothing felt right.
Maybe my expectations from this book were too high as all the related series and books have been fabulous- maybe my least favorite by the author.
Not for me, skimmed
Unsafe 1.5/5

I remember in Win’s book Royce admits in the jungle that he knows he is in love with Willow but he still flew to have that orgy in another country. A man capable of fucking that many OW while in love with the h is a man capable or cheating. He was already justifying his behavior fucking around on Willow, what’s to stop him from actual infidelity? He also got indignant and wondered why he should have to be celibate when everyone knows how much he loves fucking OW. -100/5 Not safe.
I'm a sucker for a 'not his baby' romance and Eva Winners gets this absolutely right with Royce and Willow. Royce is a kinky purveyor of pleasure. He has not been particularly fussy with his bed partners (who are frequent and of the one time variety). But he knows he enjoys things on the kinky and BDSM end of the scale. He has always held back from his exploration of his attraction with Willow as he felt she was too good for his depravity. Little did he know, she had a whole unexplored side of her sexuality that they were able to discover together.
Willow has featured heavily in previous books as she is connected with other leading ladies in previous romances. She shared one heated kiss with Royce in her late teens but their relationship was strictly friend zoned due to the age gap. Both characters have pined for each other in the 10 years they have become best friends. Royce really would do anything to look after her. When she escapes an abusive relationship, it is Royce she turns to for safety. He sees this as his opportunity to finally claim her. And he claims her unborn child too.
These two together are intensely passionate and their explorations together are steamy. Royce is dominant and dirty talking with a love of kinky play. Willow is having her eyes opened to love and sexual satisfaction. But sex aside, I loved how these two were already bonded through their friendship. Their relationship blossomed and very quickly Royce was able to prove she was his everything and he would spare no expense to keep her safe. This book is an extended honeymoon with these two on the run together. It is an action packed and fun space for these two to become so much more than best friends.
This is a standalone in the Billionaire Kings wider series. Any Eva books has a place within this wide and addictive dark world of criminals and billionaires. You don't need to have read the other interconnected books but if you have you will recognise many of the appearances. I say it everytime, I can never have enough Alexei and Kostya. So I was happy to see some potential second gen hints in this book too.
Gorgeous story between two best friends allowing themselves to fall wildly and passionately in love.

Kinks of a Billionaire by Eva Winners A Friends-to-Lovers Romance (Billionaire Kings Book 5) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️~Stars 🥵🥵🥵~Spice
Tropes: • Friends To Lovers • Touch Her & Die • Praise Kink • Marriage Of Convenience • BDSM • Age Gap • Billionaire
🖇️ I wasn’t perfect, and neither was she. But when we were together, we were absolute fucking perfection.🖇️
▪️ As usual, Eva offers us something out of this world! She knows how to capture her readers from the very first word. And this book did just that and so much more🥂Royce & Willow’s relationship started as friendship and turned into something absolutely amazing that many of us can only dream of. So how wonderful is it then that we get the chance to enjoy it in books🥰 Their journey is anything but easy, but when they realize that their friendship is anything but platonic, you can count on incredibly loving/hot moments🤤As usual, I never leave spoilers for you because such things only spoil your experience when reading books. So off you go and enjoy another masterpiece from Eva Winners🖤
Kinks of a Billionaire by Eva Winners is book 5 in the Billionaire Kings Series. This is the story of Royce and Willow. Willow and Royce shared 1 kiss when Willow was younger but due to the age different they ended up in the friend zone lane. Royce has a particular taste in the bedroom that he didn't feel he really could share fully with Willow. Willow ends up in an abusive relationship that leaves her expecting a baby. This starts their journey. This is a interconnecting series so it does add to your enjoyment if you have read the previous books. But with that said this can be a standalone book I thought.
Royce (39) & Willow (29). This isn’t an instalove trope but a friends to lovers one, which was good for a change.
The beginning had an interesting twist but that was all there was to it. I was expecting a lot more from what was insinuated in the previous books. There was no angst or anything very interesting once they got together. It was more or less them getting intimate and I got bored tbh. Plus, I found some scenes unrealistic given the circumstances 🤷♀️
Definitely my least favourite in the series.
I also noticed some editing issues, repetitions and spelling errors which didn’t help.
Okay I finally have a favorite Royce and Willow is my # 1 favorite couple the way he took over and claim that kid just was everything to me ! And the SPICE 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🌶️ Omg just loved loved it
As always, Eva does it again, bringing her readers this spicy, friends-to-lovers billionaire romance. I was hooked from start to finish and leave it to Eva to make us fall for Royce and Willow.
These two have been friends for a long time now, and let's face it: Royce is a certified freak in the bedroom and has always been afraid to share that side of himself with her. Willow finds herself pregnant and engaged and wants to get away from her abusive partner, so she turns to her best friend, Royce.
𝑵𝒐𝒘 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒌𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒚 🍆.
Royce was f--king dreamy. I mean, everything Willow had been through. He was right by her side to protect her. Royce and Willow were perfect for each other in every way imaginable. Their love is indescribable. This was no easy journey, but oh, how my heart melted for these two as I watched them explore their feelings.
𝑩𝒆𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒕, 𝒘𝒊𝒇𝒆.
Honestly, what are you waiting for if you haven't started this series?! Start with Alessio and Autumn's story in Contract of a Billionaire.
Willow Auclair has had a crush on her best friend’s brother Royce Ashford since childhood. After a kiss ten years prior the two decided to be just friends until she gets engaged. When things go wrong with her fiancé, Royce swoops in and saves her just like he did ten years ago. It was very sweet to see the two of them admit their feelings for each other. Most of this takes place with just the two of them on the run with little interaction with any of her friends or his family. TW/CW: DV, forced pregnancy (not by the hero)
2.75 ⭐️ Nope. This was not entertaining. This was a bit … boring. Almost felt like it was forced, written and making it up as it went by and throwing little things just because the story required it. I hated the Asher bit, I hated Kian’s involvement and not because of them but I think this book was an excuse to introduce some tidbits for books to come and that it’s the reason it is so short.
ARC Book Review by Roxs Reads: Kinks of a Billionaire by Eva Winners - Now Available Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Darkness: 😳😳😳😳 (not quite as dark as other books in the series) Romance: 💘💘💘💘 (love these two together) Steam/Sexual Tension: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kinks of a Billionaire will appeal to those who love an interconnected standalone within a series, compelling characters, intricately tangled storylines, some darkness and kink to their romance, strong female leads who protect their man as much as they are protected by him, captivating characters who aren't opposed to going beyond the law when needed, loyal family connections, and above all - superb writing.
As a huge Eva Winners fan and a lover of the Ashford brothers, I was excited to read Royce’s story. We’ve had little glimpses of his life throughout the previous books of the Billionaire Kings Series, which heightened my anticipation as we never really get to know too much. I do know I found his life intriguing, so I was more than ready for Royce Ashford.
Writing spoiler-free reviews that do justice to the story can be hard, so please take note that I may reference some public-knowledge elements contained in the blurb. Be forewarned if you love going in blind. And now, here are my thoughts...
Eva Winners writes deeply intricate stories with characters who sometimes crossover between each series. The characters become entangled within different storylines which allows Eva to create a treasure hunt for the reader to discover and decipher. She is a master when it comes to weaving a story full of little Easter egg treats, secrets, and puzzles scattered throughout the pages. This is probably what I love most about all her books. For her avid readers, the shock and surprise of seeing characters pop up here and there brings a different type of excitement into the mix.
Kinks of a Billionaire was released mere weeks after Kington’s story, Reign of a Billionaire, and Winston’s story, Secrets of a Billionaire. This is a special treat because the stories have remained fresh in my mind, meaning the events and characters are easily recalled. Royce and Willow’s story begins when, as a young teen, she meets and crushes hard on the hottest man she has ever met who is also her best friend’s older brother. Her world crashes down around her when the fantasy of her being with Royce seems within her grasp but quickly derails into the dreaded friend zone.
Although her heart has now been given away, life must go on, so Willow grows up while her heart heals and forgets her first love. She then finds her way into the arms of another, only to have it come down crashing and burning in what can only be categorized as the worst possible scenario.
But perhaps fate has better things in store when she finds herself saved by her childhood crush, and all her hard work of leaving him firmly in her past unravels with the speed of a gallant stallion who brought that knight in shining armor to her rescue.
I’m not normally ready to dive into a friends-to-lover romance, but sometimes the author makes it work. I don’t tend to love the slow burn that often accompanies these stories. Eva makes it work by creating palpable sexual tension and bringing out an intense passion between Royce and Willow. They unknowingly share a liking for the BDSM side of things, and after years of denial and blocking themselves off from each other, their passion for each other and their similar desires when it comes to their sexual needs, blossoms into a steamy match for this couple who seem to have been made for and destined for each other.
I love Royce and Willow as a couple. I love how strong their love for each other becomes. I love the loyalty that Royce bestows on Willow and how he becomes her savior, the knight in shining armor that she deserves. Eva also graces us with cameo appearances of some of our favorite characters from past books, and I can never get enough of seeing those characters show up in her stories. I’m thoroughly on board with the series and can’t wait for more.

Oh my oh my oh my…
*Flails arms* *Fans face*
Sheesh. 🥵
Talk about a super-hot change of pace from the rest of the Ashford brothers from the Billionaire Kings series. Don’t get me wrong, the previous books are equally steamy, but they also all consisted of angsty heartbreak within in-depth storylines. This book was pure unadulterated sex… and I would’ve been nutso not to have enjoyed the hell out of it! Willow’s and Royce’s book is the epitome of “here for good time, not a long time”.
It was fast-paced. It was smutty. It was… *singsong voice* 🙌 glorious!
I’m always up for a juicy dark billionaire romance with tons of build-up, but sometimes it’s refreshing to just sit back and escape into a fun, undemanding erotic read.
Let’s get the obvious romantic element out of the way. Kinks! Yes, its presence is strong. This would be little treat for readers who enjoy BDSM in their romance books. For full transparency, I’m not a particular fan of this element especially when it’s at an extreme level. Luckily for me, the BDSM included in this book was on the moderate side— some voyeurism, some spanking, and some exhibitionism. Alongside your usual teasing, praising kink, and dirty talk.
Although it’s an overall spicy romance read, please note it does contain triggering content that some readers may find disturbing to read through. It includes domestic abuse, explicit violence, drugging, kidnapping, and attempted sexual assault. It’s intended for readers 18+ only.
The “friends-to-lovers” romance trope tend to be a bit of hit or miss for me. But intertwining it with the “secret crush” and the “forbidden romance” tropes made it all the more gripping. Willow and Royce have such a loving and playful relationship that their life-long friendship felt authentic. There interactions ooze out effortless comfortability that always ended up making me smile. Even with their age difference, they were in the same wavelength.
Besides the romance there were a lot of other highlights. One being the Ashfords. Whether they’re playfully ribbing one another or banding together to mete-out vengeance, their interactions never fail to keep things entertaining. There are strong familial support systems present. Willow’s family are exceptional. They’re your quintessential loving family dynamic in a world where the majority are cruel and corrupt.
There’s a great balance of lightheartedness to the grimmer portions of the story. It’s constantly progressing and told from multiple POVs. Whilst this is a standalone, it’s interconnected with the rest of the series through the cast of characters as they all crossover.
Willow and Royce have a sweet and spicy relationship going on. After years of staving off their desires, once their relationship evolved from platonic to romantic, there was no holds barred. This couple is in heat! 🤭 You have been warned, there is an abundance of explicit sexual content— fetishes incorporated!
All in all, I think it was fun book to end the series on. It’s a cool change-up to have an Ashford brother who hadn’t had as bad a backstory as his other siblings. I adored his friendship with Willow and aside from his kinky side, he’s quite the doting gentleman.
The writing itself is effortless to follow. Even with the occasional flashbacks to the past, there was a seamless flow to the story. This is not one of those books that’s plot-heavy, and there isn’t much character growth either, but it does have great characters and the various backdrops featured really puts you in such wanderlust.
I couldn’t read it fast enough and easily finished it in one sitting. It’s a must-read for fans of this series and the expansive interconnected world Winners has created. If you’re fan of billionaire romances that are on the dirty side, consider adding this one to your TBR.
KINKS OF A BILLIONAIRE is the fifth instalment in Eva Winners’ contemporary, adult BILLIONAIRE KINGS erotic, romance series. This is thirty-nine year old, billionaire Royce Ashford, and twenty-nine year old Willow Auclair’s story line. KINKS OF A BILLIONAIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. For fans of Eva Winners and the Billionaire Kings series, KINKS OF A BILLIONAIRE is set somewhere between books 3 and 4.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from three first person perspectives (Royce, Willow, Asher) KINKS OF A BILLIONAIRE follows the best friends to lovers relationship between our story line couple. Willow Auclair has been in love with her best friend’s older brother for as long as she can remember but ten years earlier, an awkward, drunken attempt at seduction left Willow in the friend zone with a broken heart. Fast forward to present day wherein Willow is about to marry a senator’s son but something about the impending wedding isn’t sitting right with Willow’s family or our story line hero, and Royce is about to get up close and personal to rescue the woman with whom he had fallen in love. What ensues is the marriage of convenience between two people who have danced around one another for most of their lives, and the potential fall-out when Willow’s past refuses to let go.
The world building focuses on friendships and family, as well as dysfunctional family values. Willow had remained friends with Royce after Royce’s rejection but ten years of pining forced Willow to look somewhere else.
The relationship between Royce and Willow is a best friends to lovers/married in which, in an effort to protect the woman he loves, Royce married Willow, ensuring no further harm would come to our story line heroine but the past continued to make demands, demands that threatened our story line couple. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative.
There is a large ensemble cast of familiar and energetic secondary and supporting characters including the Ashford siblings: Byron, Winston, Aurora, and newcomer Asher; Alessio and Autumn; Willow’s parents, and her ex Stuart, as well as Congressman and Mrs Harris.
KINKS OF A BILLIONAIRE is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, greed and jealousy, family and love. The premise is dark, dramatic and intense; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are powerful, determined and desperate.
"We'll get married, you'll be an Ashford, and nobody will ever touch you again."
*4.25 stars*
Royce and Willow are so great together!
Genre: Billionaire Tropes: Friends to lovers, best friend's brother, marriage of convenience, age gap, FMC is pregnant (not MMC's), touch her and die, mafia-adjacent. Trigger warnings: No, but there is some violence and abuse on page.
Maybe, just maybe, Willow was ready for my darkness.
ARC review: I highly enjoyed this one - a sweet, quick, passionate, interesting and action-filled story. It was a quick read, and much more lighthearted than most of Eva's books. It can be read as a standalone, though Willow's friends (Aurora and Sailor) had quite a few cameos, so their stories might be nice to read beforehand, but it's easy to follow along regardless.
"Please be sure. I can't be a footnote in your life, Royce. I want it all."
The friendship Willow and Royce had was very sweet - they clearly cared deeply for one another and was each other's safe space. The fierce loyalty and deep respect they have is enviable and just what I want to see in a close friendship, so seeing them going for more was both satisfying and a bit challenging. I mean, there was clear chemistry and a lot of tension brewing, but each had their own reasons to be hesitant, which had me a bit frustrated with the waiting…
"Stop it, both of you. Or you'll have a pregnant psycho on your hands."
The marriage of convenience happened early on. It was very nice how determined Royce was and his protection of Willow, and then only later on realizing his true feelings - which was obvious in their interactions, but not with themselves… I was a bit frustrated with Willow's decisions regarding her ex, but seeing her reasons and the whole turn of events, I ended up being very fond of her and admire her strength. Also, she is the perfect combination of spark, sass and feistiness! The plot and the action was simmering the whole story, and I really think it was wrapped up nicely. The simmering sexual tension paired with the simmering 'action' tension was a nice combo, and made for a very entertaining read.
"Want me to ruin you, make you my little fucktoy."
I was really surprised they didn't break the tension sooner than they did, but it made for some funny scenes, sweet tension and a whole heap of a lot of banter and teasing. It was however, a really spicy story, both with the serious sexual tension, them having a lot of innuendos and alluding to the spice and then when it actually hit. I will say, I expected a bit more kink (giving the title of the book), but their dynamic translated really well from friends to more and I really like them together as a couple.
Also, the mouth on Royce and him claiming her (and her unborn baby) was everything!
Kinks of a Billionaire is a gripping and emotionally charged romance novel that delves deep into the intricate dynamics of love, power, and the pursuit of desire. The story follows a captivating friends-to-lovers narrative that keeps readers enthralled from the very first page, exploring themes of secrets, betrayal, and the intense passion that can ignite between two people.
The author's masterful storytelling and character development draw the reader into a world of seduction and emotional turmoil, where the lines between love and obsession become blurred. The protagonists, with their complex histories and compelling personalities, are brought to life with a level of depth and authenticity that is truly remarkable. The reader is easily invested in their journey, rooting for them to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of their happiness.
One of the standout aspects of Kinks of a Billionaire is the way it explores the power dynamics at play within the relationship. The interplay between the characters' positions of authority and vulnerability creates a captivating tension that adds an extra layer of complexity to the narrative. The author's deft handling of these themes, combined with the steamy and sensual moments that punctuate the story, make for a truly engrossing reading experience.
Beyond the central romance, the novel also delves into the broader themes of trust, betrayal, and the consequences of keeping secrets. The way these elements are woven into the plot adds a level of depth and nuance that elevates the story beyond a simple love story, making it a compelling exploration of the human condition.
Overall, Kinks of a Billionaire is a must-read for fans of dark, intense, and emotionally charged romance novels. The author's masterful storytelling, coupled with the complex and well-developed characters, create a reading experience that is both captivating and thought-provoking. Readers will be left eagerly anticipating the next installment in this thrilling and seductive series.
Given its title, I was expecting a spicy read, and while it had spice, I was surprised by just how sweet the story turned out to be.
Willow and Royce have always been close; they shared a kiss when they were younger, but Royce felt like he would be taking advantage of Willow and also that her opinion of him would change once she learned about the way he liked to play in the bedroom, so they friend-zoned each other, much to both characters chagrin, and continued as best friends and one another's person. When Willow is about to marry a man who is abusing her, Royce can't take it anymore and steps in to claim her as his own, including the baby she is pregnant with. Despite them initially agreeing that it was a marriage of convenience, they couldn't deny the growing attraction and spark between them both, especially in the close confines of the yacht they are living on, and they soon both admit their true feelings, and it becomes a real marriage between them.
Royce was so caring and protective. When he first sees Willow after she's been attacked by her fiance, he goes feral and gets very creative in seeking revenge on the fiance. We get to see him switch from the feral and raging protector to the over-the-top caring persona as he carries Willow about due to her being pregnant and needing rest so easily; it shows off the different sides of his personality, and I love how protective he was over Willow and the baby.
Willow surprises Royce with how much she enjoys and wants to encourage his naughty side. Although it does explore some kinks like voyeurism and impact play, it was relatively light and not as dark as I expected, but she is pregnant and new to the scene, so I guess that's the norm.
It's not all sweetness and spice though; there are some twists and turns, a few revelations, drama, and danger that kept my attention and had me wanting to see just what happens next.
Kinks of a Billionaire: A Friends-to-Lovers Romance (Billionaire Kings #5) By Eva Winners
The past ten years have been so hard for Royce Ashford! Ten years ago he was in no way going to take advantage of Willow Auclair so when she kissed him and she figured she was not his kind of woman they settle on a friendship! A freaking friendship…so the night ten years later when Royce’s old acquaintance Stuart Harris gets introduced to Willow, Royce knows that his feelings for her have grown and he either tells her or loses her.
Willow has a secret…a secret she is not ready to tell her parents and there is no way she is going to tell Royce what she is hiding. Partially because she wishes she had told Royce how she felt after the 10 years of friendship and partially because she wasn’t sure how he would take her news.
What happens the evening of the announcement isn’t what she expected, but by the end of that night she knows she is making the right move. Royce would always be there to protect her!
Author Eva Winners has given us a wonderful friends-to-lovers story in Kinks of a Billionaire. Royce’s biggest worry had always been would his Willow understand his need for his kinks…his practice of BDSM. The heat, the steam and the chemistry between Royce and Willow makes this book a beautiful love story for two people who should have been together years ago.
Don’t worry though, there is a huge secret that Royce has to spill to the rest of the Ashford family. On top of that threats have been made against Willow and Royce and he will go to the ends of the earth to keep her safe.
Kinks of a Billionaire was an easy read. It was full of action, pages flipped quickly and we get two unexpected heroes who just happen to be around when they are needed. If you love the Ashford family, you will definitely love Royce and Willow’s story.
Overall: 4.75/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Characters: 5/5 Plot: 2/5 tbh plot is taking a backseat for this one but it’s fine with me
“I loved the hold my wife had on me.”
Royce is Willow’s friend’s older brother who she’s always had a crush on. One thing led to another when she was 18 but Royce stopped anything from going further and they stayed close friends for 10 years. The cutest friendship ever. Until Willow announces her engagement and Royce immediately knows something is up. When he finds out her fiance (who was actually a friend of Royce’s) is a no good scumbag, Royce whisks Willow away to save her from marrying the guy and Royce marries her instead. She also reveals that she got pregnant (which is a whole drama in and of itself) but Royce does not care and is completely devoted to the two of them. But Royce did something bad to Willows ex-fiance before he married her so they have to spend the unforseeable future in close proximity on a friends yacht sailing the seas. What could go wrong
Review: Eva never disappoints me. I love me a good age-gap, best friends brother moment. Especially when there is a baby involved. Their love story was 10 years in the making (time jump, don’t worry) but they were always inevitable. Royce was obsessed with Willow and about to make his move when she told him she was engaged 😮 But he doesn’t let that stop him and is Willow’s knight in shining armor. He fully accepts Willow and whisks her away on a friends yacht. He makes her smoothies that look disgusting but are good for the baby after researching it on the internet. His dirty talk is insane. This book was mostly spice with little plot but that’s okay because Eva has been churning these books out and so much has been happening that this was kinda nice where the couple was the main focus. Loved the writing, loved the characters. Forever an Eva Winners Stan.
