In the beginning, there was nothing. Out of that nothing, Karma was whispered into existence. Alone, not understanding who or what she was, Karma wandered through the universe in search of purpose. When the song of life caught her attention, Karma floated on its chorus until she stumbled upon Earth and fell in love with it. Destiny found, Karma tended the Earth alone, yearning to love as humans loved. She persisted in loneliness until a new voice rang amongst the melody of life; a voice like her own. When Karma met Fate, their worlds collided. United in fiery passion, Karma and Fate balanced humanity. Whilst Karma tended to humanity with fairness, Fate dispensed her justice with impunity. Can their love and infinite difference coexist? Is this the beginning of an eternal love or war everlasting? What happened when Karma met Fate?
This was such a beautifully written and unique novella. I adored going on Karma’s journey with her and then meeting Fate with her. I’ve never read anything like it and it was just such a fantastic read. I highly recommend checking this incredible novella out.
Absolutely beautiful writing. I adore GR’s writing style and to be taken on such a journey of Karma and Fate, seeing these concepts through new eyes, was such a unique experience.
A fantastic and gripping novella - and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t typically enjoy novellas.
This story was so beautifully written. If you like something a little abstract, visual, spiritual without being religious, then you'll love this. It was very different from what I usually read and I had to slow down and take in each word to really enjoy it, and it was worth it. A fascinating, beautiful, read.
Kicking off the new year with my friend’s beautifully written novella. I have never read anything like this before. Karma’s remarkable journey was an interesting one to follow and told in such a unique way that kept me turning the page. If you’re wanting to kick off the new year with something quick yet lasting, I highly recommend this novella!
I LOVE this author's writing style - you are drawn in right from the start, and it is very descriptive. I loved going on Karma's journey with her - transversing the universe until she found her purpose - Earth and those that lived upon it. Whilst Karma loved these humans, she was lonely. Then Karma met Fate, and love and companionship were found, "their forms moulded perfectly together..." Fate's purpose was to determine a human's destiny with no emotion or feeling, and while Fate did this impartially, Karma struggled with what she saw as the inequality of a good life being ended and a bad life being saved. A battle between the two ensued... and continues to this day. "Sometimes Karma wins, sometimes she does not. "
Beautiful Novella about Karma meeting Fate. very different read for me but wow what a journey. Very quick read. I love G R Thomas such a fantastic writer.
2024: A beautifully and uniquely written novella about the embodiments of Karma and Fate. A very quick read. Heartfelt concepts. Lovely connections. The ending of this story was most definitely a knife to the heart in the simplest of ways. It would be interesting to see this storyline revisited and developed further.
G. R. Thomas wow thankyou for an Energizing, enlightening Novella read. A Magical plot that begins with a Whisper, a new life force existing called Karma and a Journey through the Cosmos, questioning and being drawn to find her Kindred Spirit. The story for me also had strong messages about human existence and given choice humans have not made the best choices. However, their is always Light and Love that guides us to. Highly Recommend.
I thought I'd already reviewed this but obviously not!
This book was such a beautifully crafted piece of art. It is not the sort of book I would normally pick up but something about it called to me and I'm so glad it did.
The concept is original, beautifully executed and provides an almost spiritual experience in reading it. I cannot recommend enough.
Gonna be honest, was not what I expected from this author but I really enjoyed this. It gave me peaceful moments as well as a connection with Karma and her emotions. It’s a quick read and a real side step from the “horror” genre but definitely worth the time. I love GR Thomas’s works!!!
A genuinely interesting concept that was messy and confusing to read for the most part. Although some of the language was beautiful at other times it felt overly complex and at other times stunted. This book is in dire need of a good editor. So much more could have been done with this concept. The beginning was good, and the ending was okay but because the universe and characters weren’t consistent or reliable it really didn’t make up for much. Impressive language doesn’t make up for bad story telling unfortunately.
This snappy novella that I read in one sitting and a cup of tea packs a punch! The writing is beautifully lyrical, and there are some really deep thoughts about life in general that can be grabbed from this! You should read this if you like women’s wrongs as well as women’s rights 🥰
