A discredited reporter.

I was once an award-winning investigative journalist, now I write fluff pieces for my small town local paper. When I find out Burning Pisces is playing a local show, with claims that their drug-addicted frontman has cleaned up his act, I'm determined to get the real story and stamp my name on the byline. But then I meet Leland and Maddox O'Reilley, the twins in the band, and they turn my world upside down. Now I have to choose between trying to advance my career and the men who have wormed their way into my heart.

A fallen-from-grace musician.

I knew playing a local show was never going to put us back on the charts, but I hoped it was a start that would lead to more shows and a manager willing to take us on. But nothing is turning out like I thought it would. Then I meet Trey Blancett and he stops me from making an even bigger mistake. Then again, maybe the mistake was trusting him to catch me if I fell.

A determined twin.

I knew playing in a bar would be a test Leland shouldn't face so soon into his sobriety. What I didn't count on was the instant attraction I felt for the man I caught him with in the dressing room after our disastrous show. I've always put Leland first, took care of him. Now I need to figure out if that's a responsibility I can share with Trey, or if he's just going to break our hearts.

If you're a fan of rockstars and redemptions then rock out to DOUBLE TROUBLE today and for a love story that will be sung about throughout the ages.

A cute MMM romance novella with 2 rockstars, a fan with secret identity of reporter, some twincest thrown in for sizzle & we got this enjoyable story.
This was quick #ARC & I read it in 3hrs.

Trey is a reporter in his 40s, who'd fallen from grace & now back in his hometown. A hope that by writing article on his fav band, he'll be taken seriously again.
Leland had been fighting addiction, finally been sober for months. He's nervous, but wants his band to make a comeback.
Maddox is Leland's twin & part of band, he's protective of L & been a rock for him with all.

The writing style of the book is good. I loved to see the Bi-awakening of Trey & Maddox. The sexual chemistry b/w 3 is good, but I did want atleast 1 scene where they go all the way! It's fast paced & insta-love, I wanted more but oh well, it's a short story.

I liked the inner gripes of Leland & Maddox over the twincest thing, as expected 😁. BUT we get only a "soft, reassured gaze" from Trey?! I really wanted Trey to atleast acknowledge the twincest in his pov, but alas 😣 (I think that put me out a bit 😔). He'd only worried of his secret, expectedly it blew up heh. That climax was fun! I'd have loved a epilogue tho.

I'd been worried as this story was originally a MF, but I think this rework is fun for a quick romp. It can do with a little tweaking of errors (The hotel to Suite & Bryan x Brian 😅), which I hope gets done before the release.

Story Ratings:

POV: 1st person, Triple POV
1) Overall Enjoyment—> 4.5/5
2) The Characters: 4.75/5
3) Top feels: 😳😜😏🤨😟🤭🥰🥺😘😍
4) Steamy scenes: 2/5
5) Levels: Cute: 4/5
Angst: 2.25/5
Dark: 1/5
6) Creativity + world: 4.25/5
7) Plot arc: (Hookup to Lovers, Past & secret) 4/5
8) Writing style + pace: 4/5

I really enjoyed this story about twins Maddox and Leland and their instant connection with Trey, the story was actually quite sweet considering it has a taboo relationship in it but I would really love to read more about this threesome to see if they were able to resurrect their different careers and how things worked out for them in the longer term. Great read.

Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews, and this is me leaving my honest review.
How are you? This is the first book that I’ve read by Jennifer O’Malley, and I’ve got to say this one for me for six because I was not ready for this story.

Trey is a reporter that was flying high people knew his name he was going to get an award, but then he was basically blackballed because the story that he wrote had facts that was not confirmed. So he was doing stories like weddings and dog stories. this is not what he wanted to do. So when he notices that his favourite band is making a coming back From a big fall from grace, he wanted to write about it. nobody really knew what happened at the last concert, but this was their first gig back, and Trey was going!
Leland and Maddox are twins and in a band that is hoping to come back. Leland had gone through some serious addiction problems, but he was back and he had a lot to prove. Maddox was always there to support Leland. As he waited in the bar before they were ready to perform, he noticed this guy. Which confused Maddox because he was straight. His twin was bisexual, but he had never had this feeling for a man before. They got talking, and it was like they were flirting, but then he had to go on stage. Leland knew the performance was bad and was glad that there was a ruckus in the crowd, and he just legged it. The band decided to just go back home but as Leland got behind the wheel, he was just driving in circles and he ended up back at the bar. He went in and ordered alcohol and he was just staring at it because he knew would never just be one. And that’s when he noticed this gorgeous guy, and his thoughts of alcohol were gone, these two are definitely flirting and it wasn’t long till they were back in the back room that the band has used. As Leland and Trey got to know each other better Trey looked up and noticed Maddox at the door watching them. What would happen now??
That’s all I’m gonna give you because this is a short read, but I’ve got to tell you I was blown away. Don’t get me wrong. This is a taboo read but oh my God, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the attraction enjoy the connection and I definitely enjoyed the chemistry. but as always, there is a hiccup along the way. Would they be big enough to forgive??
Super excited to read more from this author

Rating: 3.75 stars (7.5/10)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Tropes: twincest, MMM, insta-love, rockstars x journalist, betrayal, double bisexual awakening, alcohol and drug recovery
Review:
Double Trouble is a novella which follows two twins in the band Burning Pisces, the lead singer Leland and guitarist Maddox, as they try to get back into performing after Leland had a major fall from grace with alcohol and drug issues; and Trey, a journalist who also lost all credibility when his Pulitzer winning article was found to be based entirely on a source which was found out to be false, and he is trying to make a name for himself in publishing again. Trey basically begs for this job, partly because he wants something of substance, and also because he relates to the loss of credibility and fall from grace that Burning Pisces, and in particular Leland, went through.

This novella is fast paced, but for the majority of the story, it was well paced. Maddox and Trey are both straight, but they feel an immediate attraction, but after the rather terrible gig, when Leland almost runs back to alcohol, Trey is taken in by Leland, and things start to get a little heavy handed in the green room 🥵 and what happens when Maddox goes looking for Leland and stumbles upon them? He watches for a bit, before he engages Trey in some action too. There's a little bit of brotherly sword-crossing, which was totally accidental - at least, at first.

The novella follows them through their weekend exploring each other, and yes we get full-on twincest and some steamy scenes between the three, before the major conflict point. I felt up until the last chapter that the pacing went well, but the last chapter aimed to wrap up a lot of betrayal, destroyed hearts and ragged feelings, and I felt like it was completely pushed under the rug and we were all happy, which was a little disappointing. I would've loved an extra 50 pages to properly resolve the hurt between the three, and explain things, and I think having another spicy scene where there is some actual 🍆 in 🍑 action would've been nice too (since we never got that far). Having said that, I loved the story and it was interesting to have some twincest where that was sort of a byproduct of them sharing a common interest, as opposed to a pre-existing taboo relationship which introduced a third.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.25 stars

When I opened this book, there was a note from the author stating that Double Trouble is a rewrite of her book, Luck of the Irish, which featured Leland and a female lead. It further says that the overall premise of the book remains the same, but that it now centers on twin brothers, plus the reporter, Trey. Having read and reviewed in this genre for many years, I immediately was wary of this type of rewrite, as characters are not easily interchangeable in this manner.

The characters are interesting as Trey meets both Maddox and Leland. Being a novella, this book has to move fast. But there were aspects that moved too fast for me or weren’t addressed at all.

The book has a bit of a taboo idea to it yet it’s a love story that you won’t soon forget. The story itself is an easy read that leans toward the spicier side. There’s support for recovery from addiction which is commendable. There’s a socially forbidden romance that actually ends with a happy ever after and there’s camaraderie among friends which both add flavor to the story. The storyline keeps you engaged not just because of the risqué theme but because the characters are intriguing. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

I read the Luck Of The Irish and didn't know this was that story but completely changed. I was even more excited to read it once I saw that in the book. This version was my favorite by far. I absolutely loved everything about this book except I wanted more. I would love for these three to maybe get more books.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. The characters are very likeable, and I enjoyed seeing the romance develop. While this is a quick insta-love story, there is a good amount of angst and conflict that feels genuine and resolved in a feel-good ending. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any sequel stories in the future!

He is a reporter who has got into trouble so when he hears a band is playing in town. One had cleaned up his act and stopped taking drugs. He goes to find out but he will find himself drawn to the twins of the band. Now what will he do? Will he carry on with his story? Will he turn his back on the story to be with the twins? See how he decides what to do

Boiling hot. Two men from different walks of life who fell from grace trying to get back up. Supportive friends on both sides. Understanding and misunderstanding. It's too delicious to spoil, read it for yourself.

The blurb tells you the gist of the story. Trey almost loses the best opportunity of his life by not speaking out. This is a short, heartfelt and super sexy, bordering on taboo but it all works beautifully. I loved it! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Trey, Leland and Maddox ❤️

3.5 stars ⭐️

Surprisingly sweet! I expected this one to have a bit more spice especially due to the taboo aspect but it was more cute than anything, which didn't matter much because it was so enjoyable. It was quick, sweet and had 3 likable characters. I'd recommend.

Three guys fallen from grace, trying to get back up. Trey needs a big story and the band coming back with the twins on the lead call to him. Decisions need to be made, for everyone’s sake. Trey may be the best choice for Leland and Maddox. I enjoyed this book.

This book was short I did enjoy it. I do wish that it was longer so that I could get to know the characters more. And have a filled out story. It isn't for everyone so read the triggers.

I enjoyed this short insta-love. twincest, threesome story. Three men, two blown-up careers, two bi-awakenings, one man trying to support his twin as they both unexpected fall for the same man. There are some steamy scenes (although they don't go all the way to anal sex) some lies, secrets, conflicted emotions, and a potential big betrayal. I really liked the trio, but I want more. This feels like just the beginning. I want to know if Leland stages his comeback, if Trey salvages his career (if Sandy ever gets his name right), and where the trio go from here. This was my first read by this author, and I hope she gives us more of the guys' story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short taboo novella. I loved the connection between the brothers Leland and Maddox and when both are drawn to the same man, there is some major chemistry that explodes between them all and connects them, filling places that were empty, lost and struggling. There is a small amount of doubt between Leland and Maddox because of the taboo nature of what has happened, but they quickly accept that they feel the way they do and they will work with it. Trey has hidden why he was originally at their gig in the first place and there's a small bit of drama there, but because of the length of the book it is quickly resolved and I'm very happy for the three of them.

I look forward to hopefully more taboo reads by this author.

Trust when earned, can be hard to keep. Trey’s worked for 3 years and still can’t get the juicy assignments. He got his job from favors. On the night he won his Pulitzer, his source was arrested with mob affiliations and the information was no longer credible. He was working hard for his redemption and repairing his reputation. Leland, is a member of the band Burning Pisces. He has spent 3 years on the road to recovery to bring his band back. He had tanked the careers of his twin, Maddox and his best friend, Chad with his uncontrolled addiction. They were getting a 2nd chance at a comeback in a dive bar in their home town. These men meet each other during a set and set off surprising sparks that lead to a delicious story of discovery and acceptance. Trey and Maddox identify as straight, but still feel an unexpected appreciation of each other. Great story of redemption, trust, forgiveness and discipline. Well done. Story can be read several times and you still get the same level of satisfaction. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this book but wanted to love it more. It is well worth the read given the taboo subjects of twins falling for same man but I felt like lots was left unsolved (maybe that will be in book two). This is an easy to read and engage with short novella. I like the idea of two disgraced men having comebacks (even thought not fully explore but assuming they do), two men discovering their bi side, one twin being overly protective of the other, and a book with a hold range of reels. This one has lots of angst given the lies, betrayals, and secrets that frame this MMM relationship. Give me more heat and little more plot development and it would have been a five star. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.

Short taboo novella.

This book has a reporter that needs to start his career over because a mistake that wasnt his, and two twins that in a band that also kinda starting over because of the lead singer (one of the twins) bad choices.

What I really loved and appreciated about this book is the communication between all characters. It seems like they are all know how to talk and go through their feeling and their issues. It shows maturity of the characters but also the author. This is a first book by this author and I loved it very much.

I love taboo and twins stories so I was all in for it.

The only thing I wished that it was a full book with more steamy scenes.

Totally recommend.

I have never read anything by Jennifer O'Malley before, OMG this was fantastic!! I am not a fan of M/M romance, but this was good. Trey is a reporter who's fallen from grace, only doing fluff pieces. He hopes doing a story on his favorite band "Burning Pieces" will help to have others take him seriously. Leland and Maddox are the twins in the band, Leland has been fighting addiction, and he hopes this show will start their comeback. Trey, Leland and Maddox have instant chemistry, and they do show it. Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. O'Malley.

I rounded off a 3.5* rating to a 4* rating.

This was not at all what I was expecting, but enjoyed anyway. I am always drawn by the word twins and only while reading, did I twig to the taboo factor.
Leland had gone off the rails and three years later the band was trying to make a comeback. Trey also needed to restore his name as a journalist, but not every report needs to be about the bad and sordid past. Maddox is the twin looking out for his brother and helping to restore self-worth.
Despite the taboo, I found this uplifting and inspiring to strive for improvement towards a better life.

I received a copy from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest and voluntary review.

When Trey tells his editor he can get a scoop on Burning Pisces comeback gig he never for one minute saw himself falling for both the twins. Maddox is straight so why were all his senses telling him Trey was his and why did he feel the way he did when he saw Trey with Leland. Trey kept everything to himself he didn’t tell them why he was originally at the gig so when secrets are revealed Trey has some serious explaining to do but will the twins believe him. I like a bit of twincest in my books and was really looking forward to reading this and although I enjoyed I really wanted more from the story.

I have to say i was so happy to get an arc copy of this book as I do enjoy a taboo read but rarely available as arc copy! I enjoyed the fact this story was about twins, Maddox and Leland who are two rock stars trying to redeem themselves who meet Trey who is a discredited journalist and they all have an instant connection which leads to some hot scenarios! The actual storyline was well paced and really sweet in places which was unexpected and plenty of depth in following them all trying to both make the relationship work and get their careers back on track.

I was pleasantly surprised this was a story about three slightly older men, think 40's, going through tough times and changes in their lives. It actually felt very real in spite of the taboo feelling of twins falling for the same man. Maddox has always been there for his twin Leland and things were currently not going smoothly. Him now being interested in Trey as well added all the extra emotions. I hope there is a second story coming with this threesome. All the love and emotions are there, but I could use some more intimate spicy times between the three of them!

Loved Trey, Leland and Maddox and this story. I'm always a fan of stories where one of the characters is hiding some major secret about who they are in order to achieve some rather selfish, personal goal as Trey is here. Then we get the fun of seeing how the author handles the explosion and angst when the truth comes out and if the characters can overcome that and get their HEA. Watching Trey deal with the emotional conflict as he begins to care for Leland and Maddox and watching Maddox care for Leland made for a wonderful read.
