The First Quest: Monster Girl Sanctuary
Destiny awaits…whether you’re ready for it or not.
Bucky Drake literally just got his managerial position at McDaniel’s, but he’s already been promoted to "Hero" whether he wants the gig or not. Dragged against his will through a yawning purple vortex by a mouthy catgirl, he finds himself in another world full of vivid colors—and peerless beauties. Cowgirls, lamias, satyresses, unicorns, and even elves of all colors of the rainbow make his acquaintance early and often...and he handles them pretty darn well for a random fast food worker in over his head.
That's the way things are going to be from now on. On Lusteria, the population is largely female and made up of monster women and elves. There is the odd transmigrated human here and there, but Bucky is special. He’s been chosen.
But chosen for what?
The three Dark Queens must be defeated. Bucky isn’t totally sold on the idea, though, not just yet. For now, he’s satisfied to just enjoy the simple life in Tater Town, the small, dumbly-named village he’s grown to call home.
He’ll get around to being a hero…eventually.

Honestly, it's one of my favorites. I never wanted to put it down. A perfect balance of story, world building, spice, character development, slice of life, litRPG, action, and adventure. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, this is in my top 5 books of all time. Can't wait for the next one!

I'll rate this as what it is, trashy harem-lit, and an early work from the author to boot. Story is ok, and the MC is in way over his head with the number of women in his life. This addresses that more effectively than a lot of books of this ilk, but there's still too much smut for me to rate it any higher.
The only reason I read "harem" stuff at all is when there are interesting group dynamics, as the sex scenes are not what I'm reading them for, and indeed skip past most of it. An attempt is made at those dynamics here, but it's more in the way it interferes with the MC's mission, with no real depth. Later books, particularily those co-authored with Annabelle Hawthorne do a much better job of that, so it's more a development issue.
This is definitely a solo VK book, so if you like those (e.g. Solar Dragons, etc.) this will likely work for you. I find the solo books weaker than his collaborations, but YMMV as always.

Isekai harem romp
Alternate universe, magic, LitRPG, fantasy races, monster girls, beast kin, harem adult situations
Bucky likes working as a fast food manager, which is why, when a spellcasting cat girl abducts him, he tries to resist. Then he learns he gets XP from sex. After he saves two cow girls, mayhem ensues. At the end, one third of his quest to save Lusteria, where only female children are born, is complete. Pop culture references are ephemeral; several I had to look up.
The author promises a sequel in 2024, and as of today, May is nearly over, and no hint that a follow-up novel is in the works. At the moment, it's a trilogy with only one novel written. Authors sometimes do that, write book, and if there aren't enough sales, they abandon the series. Entertaining for what it is, a halfway serious isekai quest to save the world.

An absolute gem of a book
Wasn’t entirely sold on this book, but am a huge fan of this author so thought I would give it a chance. And am glad that I did. The MC isn’t an overpowered hero. He is still leveling and getting stronger battle by battle and intimacy by intimacy. And it couldn’t be better. Then add in the bevy of monster girls and you have a hit. Definitely want to see more in this series since I literally could not put it down.

I loved the mix
Between adventuring to boost his abilities and running a sanctuary for the monster girls in his life.
Bucky has a lot to take care of with all of his girls and a great plan to keep them happy and safe. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommended it!

Fun Story.
I was not sure what to expect reading this from the disception. But I am impressed with how different and fun the story turned out. I am looking forward to another chapter in the same pattern as this story. It was,a real pleasure to read.

A good happy story.
I like the way the hero was developed and how he expressed his love to the women in his life. Good fight scenes. All characters were well written. lots of sex, that made the reading hot! A good story, I will read the next book.

A good one.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.

Great story
I was not so sure early on. But it turned out really well. I loved the second half of the book, more than the first, but I am looking forward to the next one.

This book was a bloody amazing start to a series. It was fun and exciting with some hot scenes in between. I am really hoping a book 2 is soon to be released!

A great book series!
This is a great book with a MC that is funny in his own way and a greatly expanding harem with so many varied lovers!

Now this is what I'm talking about.. I have hated every book I have read from this author. All of the MC'S sucked.. This one however embraced the crazy 🤪 and i love it no whining and freaking out about p***y acting like a virgin. I hate books like that BRAVO 👏 LOVE IT...Stop writing in stupid mc's it totally ruins the whole book and PLEASE get rid of the cringe ( new jersey / new york accent that the female voice actor gives at least 1 -2 characters its why i have tried and dropped all of virgil knightley's books except this one )..you that and you will have another fan.. please make a book 2 for this series 🙏
