This is a really cute holiday romcom. Gavin is a grumpy no nonsense type of man. He is there for business and nothing else. He starts an intern type of job at his grandfather‘s company. His first day there he has a strange encounter in the elevator, in the office there is a whole lot of nonsense going on. Christmas galore, ugly sweaters everywhere, and a party with spiked punch. (His eyes roll 🙄). Sydney is all about holiday cheer, making people smile, but she also likes doing her job really well. this uptight new manager needs to loosen up, and she’s the one that can do it! This is an entertaining short read. It is a clean romance, no foul language, and lots of laughter.
Kissing My Christmas Enemy Excellent!!!!! Yes you guess correctly,I absolutely adore this cute Christmas story by Audrey Carnes! We meet Gavin an avid achiever in everything business. Honed by his efforts during his lifetime of trying to prove himself to both his grandfather and his father pursuing a business degree at his Ivy League College followed by Harvard as wells as converted internships at the best companies . Some might say he has it made . Life’s what you make it though right? So there he was ready to take up the mantle at the company , he’s ready …Mishap after mishap has him confounded on his first morning as manager at the company his grandfather founded, culminating in a run in with Sydney, literally the tornado in a tight skirt ends up spilling the drinks she was carrying to the floor right there in the conference room could he have made a bigger guffaw? Sydney is something else, she’s not an elf you put on a shelf. She was carrying the drinks but she’s more than he thinks. Discussions between colleagues is the way to go to get in the know…“He could end up our permanent boss,” Judith says. “Didn’t he graduate recently from business school?” “I heard from Polly who heard from Martha in the executive suite that it’s being talked about.” So the gossip is ripe in the company so what happens after this? Find out the business and the fun .I guess that’s what happens when you’re the founder’s grandson–he’ll probably be running the whole place before long.” She is going to turn the grumpy grinch into Santa loving ,it’ll be a cinch. He’s the new manager but he won’t manage her ,she’s going to manage him and he won’t know what’s hit …him apart from the cute sweater wearing and Christmas cheer. Oh dear Gavin look out , Stacey’s about , you’re going to be hit. Is it Cupid’s arrow or Stacey’s charms . No matter which YULE spend it in each other’s arms. Enemy to lovers , grump to cute , very astute . A wonderfully compelling fun story Audrey Carnes ,I LOVED EVERY MINUTE! This book has lots of fun , love and Christmas in it . WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS ROMANCE ! Very well written ,well I expected no less because of this writer ,I’ve always been impressed.
A workplace, boss/assistant quick romance. Gavin is the grump and has a lot to prove coming into his grandfathers company and trying to eventually become CEO. Sydney has been trying to become the executive assistant so she can work towards going back to school.
Gavin gives Sydney a chance to do what she wants to go to school for & she absolutely rocks it. However old school ways make a not so great environment for those who want to change things for the better.
They have a cute happily ever after & keeps you in the Christmas spirit!
Oh my love this short story holiday romance. Opposite attract/ workplace romance. The story of Gavin and Sydney such a rough start for both but so funny. Would love another story about them and their funny adventures. Highly recommended
This book has it all - adorable characters, romance, witty banter, laugh out loud moments, all wrapped around the magic of the holidays! Things started out rocky, when Sydney and Gavin meet in an elevator at work and she spills coffee all over him. He’s there to fill in at his grandfather’s company and looking to make a good first impression, which clearly this is not. She’s hoping to get a promotion from her boss, not knowing Gavin is filling in for him temporarily. Sydney is so thrown off that she pulls several hilarious pranks on Gavin on his first day. I will never look at jalapeños the same way again! They eventually come to have a mutual respect for one another and a friendship starts to form. These two are perfect together and are always in each other’s corner, cheering the other on and boosting their confidence. I love the holiday setting, especially doing the office Secret Santa activity, and it’s always fun to have previous characters pop up in books to see what they’re up to (love that they met at the Coffee Loft too!). I can’t wait to read Maddie’s story and see her find love too!
A cute, fun holiday rom-com. Gavin and Sydney have quite the meet-cute and then it gets worse for him throughout the day thanks to Sydney. Then it was fun to see how their relationship changed and grew, so sweet and swoony for a grumpy guy and a sweet feisty gal. Fun story that was a quick read!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 in the Billionaire Sweet Christmas Rom Com Series and can be read as a standalone. Kissing My Christmas Enemy is told through Sydney and Gavin's pov and is a clean and fun opposites attract romance.
From Sydney and Gavin's first meeting, I knew this was going to be a good story and I wasn't let down. Because of Sydney being upbeat and Gavin a bit of a grump, they clashed and it created some entertaining banter and friction. Though they didn't have the best impressions of the other, I liked how that slowly changed the more time they spent together. While their personalities were different, they both had goals that drove them and I liked how that made them appreciate each other. Their romance was a clean one consisting of sweet kisses, that aren't heated, and no curse words were used. Overall, if you're in the mood for something lighthearted and a pick me up, then this book is a great choice.
