☕️ Won in a giveaway 🫖

This is a reasonably quick read. It's all positive, uplifting poems. That being said, I don't know anyone who talks like this so it was a bit hard to get through with the wording. It gets some pretty good reviews so probably worth the read for some. Thank you to the author, PS Conway, Literary Revelations LLC and Goodreads for my free copy. Happy reading! 🌟🌠

I read a lot of books, but usually not a lot of poetry. Sometimes it's nice to slow down a bit and read a beautifully written book of poems and soak them in. That's exactly what I did with this one. I devoured this book (along with a bottle of wine) in one sitting. Even for someone who's not a huge reader of poetry, it's very accessable and provokes lots of thoughts and emotions throughout. I found myself rereading some of the poems over and over. A few really stuck with me including "of a life that was good" which was near the end.

Do yourself a favor and pick a copy of this book up. PS Conway is a poet well worth reading.

Pages of poems loosely classified and varying in content.

This collection seems to be from one author and is grouped into four sections although I struggled to see the relevance and value of this. Maybe it was used as an excuse to provide a quotation from other authors at the start of each section. There is a variety of topics and an array of schemes used. Pithy stories or encapsulated thoughts were the main staple. Musings on intimate moments or shared experiences, religion, myths and magic as well as mourning, death and loss are included. Each is short and you are given one poem per page.
It felt like panning for gold as nuggets were few and did not sparkle at first. Where a rhyme scheme was used, I felt there was an overmuch reliance on assonance. Another offputting factor for me was the feeling of pretentiousness from the formatting with no capital letters except for a few names and for Silence and Veil. This applied to the titles as well. Reader, this is not e e cummings - although I think this was the effect the author was stretching towards. Many will also need a dictionary as unusual words are used, leaving me algid.

A true poet knows no boundaries as poet PS Conway details in Echoes Lost In Stars.  A collection of poems beautifully crafted together to create a delightful window into worlds unknown, wishes abroad, heritage, mythology and that of a poet's mind.  A masterpiece of words entangled to introduce the imagination to places far beyond our own land.  From Fatal Flaws to Empty Canvas and Fragrant Memories to An Odd Tree, the transport from Stars to Sun is a wizard of words that will captivate you from the first page and continues to the very last page.  I loved this book and my teenage granddaughter loved this book.  A fantastic exquisite job Pat.  Every poem is beautifully told and seeps you into the emotions that the poet himself felt with each line read.
A highly recommended must read for poetry lovers and those new to the poetry world.  A well-deserved five stars ⭐

P.S. Conway’s book of poetry is a beautiful reading experience. It is literally art in words. I found it hard to put down since P.S.’s writing is a feast for the imagination, stirring your emotions and transporting you from one experience to another as you wander through this delightful collection of some of the best use of figurative language that has been my pleasure to read.

This poetry is luminous! I learned at least 40 new words and loved at least 22 poems. Ambrosia for my mind—as I lay in bed after falling flat on my back on an icy sidewalk this morning—contemplating Celtic lore, Yeats, death, life and more. Words that spring eternal.

PS Conway’s poetry is filled with beautiful imagery with contemplative text. Drawing on themes of nature, mythology, relationships, and spirituality, these are poems to be savored and revisited, deepening your connection with each reread. My favorites are “in need of rescue” and “sunset autumn forest”.
