I knew the exact moment I’d become a ‘yes’ girl.
December 16th, a cold winter’s night, four years ago.
The night my innocence was stolen, the night I made the mistake of saying no—a mistake I’d never make again.
The dream of a ‘happily ever after' was now a locked away myth. I promised myself that I’d never return to the place of my worst nightmare, that I’d never let anyone get close, but then again, I never thought I’d meet someone like him.
The intense, confident and beautiful Ky Crawford.

I had no plans to become someone’s Prince Charming.
I couldn’t be. I refused to be. My plan was simple—do whatever it takes to correct my biggest mistake, my one regret that now controlled my life.
I was on track. I had plans, but then everything changed when I saw her—the girl in the red jacket, the girl who I was told couldn’t say no.
The reserved yet stunning Eden Rivers.

A girl who can’t say no.
A guy who craves redemption.
A chance encounter?

It all comes down to this.
One question.
One month.

4 "I want my own Ky" stars!

I haven't read so intense and heart breaking book for a while! It was beautiful too see how much the hero and heroine changed because of their love for each other!

Eden has been through one of the worst things in life. Shattered, living in her shell. After what happend to her she doesn't think that she would have normal life again. That she would never be with a man and give herself to him. Pretending to be someone else become her daily life.

Until she met Ky she never exeprience something so pure and amazing. He wanted to help with her fears, struggles and insecurities. He wanted to proove to her that he always will be there to help her. He was living in his own guilt , misery and sadness! He believed that FATE was giving him a second chance to do right thing!

I loved how sweet and good he was! He was sexy Alpha and gentle at the same time. He never wanted to be someone's knight but easy he become exactly that for Eden!

So now.. when the shit HIT the fan I was on my toes the entire time! It wasn't pretty.. sadness, rage, hate, pain, determination .. these are the things that may break your heart a little during reading this book. I was sad and mad at THE SAME TIME!

Although I love the frienships in this book. Their gang was so funny and lovely! The story it self was beautiful and their entertaining chats just added more sweetnes, trust and love to the story!

Can't wait for Josh(y) and Ashlyn!

It seems I am the minority here, and the basis of my not finishing this book was personal preference & opinions, so please don't let my review deter you from reading this.
I personally couldn't understand Eden's 'solution' for what she endured in college.
Sorry. Not something I can accept or agree with, so couldn't continue reading.

☆☆☆☆4 Be My December Stars ☆☆☆☆

Be My December? That simple one question and one answer was all it took to change the lives of two people destined to meet. Can redemption, second chances and love be found in one month? Is one month enough to erase all the pain, regret, and fear from the eyes of two strangers?

BeMyDecember_0

December 16th. The date that will forever be engrained in Eden Rivers’ life. On that day, a life was destroyed and innocence was lost. The word, “NO,” as powerful as it was lost its meaning that cold night on December 16th when Eden lost her voice when her cries of help was ripped from her when she was brutally raped. Fast forward to four years later, the word “no” has lost its meaning for Eden. She became a woman who can’t say ‘no’ and is ridden by fear and shame. So what happens when Eden finally meets the person who makes her wants say ‘yes’ for all the right reasons?

BeMyDecember

One mistake. One Regret. One night that will forever haunt Ky Crawford. A past full of secrets that have tormented him. So when he meets Eden, a woman who has been hiding out of fear, will he be able to bring back the spark that once lit her eyes. Will Ky be able to unravel the wall surrounding her heart? Or will her past prevent her from getting close to the one man, who makes her feel alive? They say love heals so can redemption be found for Ky?

BeMyDecember_5

The chemistry and connection between Ky and Eden is a force that cannot be explained. Call it fate or unexpected circumstance, Ky and Eden were two people given a second chance at life, love, and redemption. Two people haunted by a past are finally given a chance for a future. No amount of time could stop a force like Ky and Eden. One month, one question was all that was needed to changes the lives of Ky and Eden. Be My December?

BeMyDecember_3

Be My December was the first book that I have I read from Rachel Brookes and definitely won’t be my last. Ms. Brookes will take her readers on an emotional journey of two people haunted by their pasts, finding strength, love, hope and closure within each other. The beauty of second chances is the gift of tomorrow. So if you are looking for a book that will take you on a journey filled with hope, healing, love, and forgiveness, then I suggest you go read Be My December.

Ky melted my heart and made me fall in love. Everything about him just seemed so perfect, from the way he reacted to situations, to the way he took care of Eden when she needed it the most. Be My December was beautifully written and left me wanting more of these characters and of Rachel's writing. I really look forward to Josh's story next. Both of these brothers were sexy and irresistible in their own ways. This was my first book by Rachel Brookes and it definitely won't be my last. She has a way with words that really makes you feel for the characters and form an attachment with them. Be My December is a MUST read so hurry up and meet the Crawford boys and get ready for Be My Temptation!!

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

Be My December had an emotional beginning; the Prologue really wrecked me when I experienced what Eden went through. Jumping four years into the future, I met the new Eden. On the outside she is confident, polished and determined to succeed, but she still struggled with her demons. Then there was Ky, the workaholic who rarely found time for himself unless his brother forced him to do so.

Ky and Eden’s first meeting was at the club, Ky was all alpha male, and I could see his attraction, but he didn't move on it. When Eden finds herself in an uncomfortable situation, he swoops in to save her. He was forceful to begin with, but I could see his sweet side trying to get out.

I soon found out what Eden’s problem was and saw why she continued to struggle. When Ky asks her to be his December, she wanted to stay and spend more time with him, but I could see that they both were keeping things from one another.

Be My December was my first introduction to Rachel Brookes’ writing style. I had a few issues with some scenes, there were moments I found unbelievable and some chapters felt unfinished. One example in particular was when Ky and Ashlyn went to dinner, Eden came in came to their table, he left and sent an email to Eden, then the book jumped two days later to the interview... What happened after the email? Did he go back to the table? Talk to Eden? It felt like I was missing something.

The storyline was intense at times, but by the end of the book I was happy with how it all turned out. Ky showed how much Eden meant to him and would do anything to keep her safe. They built a strong relationship and were able to trust one another when it counted. I enjoyed meeting the secondary characters too – Ashlyn, Josh and Tori. It was a good start to the series and I hope to continue on some time soon!

I nearly gave up on this book, but as always I needed to know what really happened between Ky and Eden, and I'm glad I did. It's a bit twisted, well more like crazy twisted, but you'll get what I mean if you get the chance to read it. All is not bad with the book, but the interaction, the chemistry between characters, made me smile and sometimes you just wondered, if Eden could have been with Colby and Josh with Tori and then where would that leave Ky and Ashlyn. Anyways, the chemistry took a while for Eden and Ky to really connect and by that time, I was already feeling frustrated by then :) overall though, I kind of felt that Ky carried most of the story.

I have been a fan of Rachel Brookes since I picked up Just Breathe almost a year ago, I was utterly consumed by this series and I remember thinking how she could top Breathe Again. When Rachel approached me to beta read Be My December I was thrilled because the premise of the story had me enraptured.

Be My December had me utterly spellbound from the first page, the prologue left me in tears, my heart hurt, my soul was crushed and I knew from then that Rachel was creating something special. Eden Rivers has lived through the unimaginable, she had her innocence ripped away and was left a shell of her former self, shy, reclusive, fearing so much of the outside world, this girl...this woman survived just barely, but was left forever changed, she learnt at that moment that saying no only led to pain, going forward she would become a yes girl. When Ky Crawford enters her life, he challenges her to step outside of the box, to test her self imposed limits, he fights to break down the walls she's build up around herself, one question that only she can answer; Be My December?

This story, one of heartache, suffering, pain, loss, and ultimately redemption, love and second chances effected my so deeply that weeks have past since I read the finished book and it still invades my thoughts, these characters have woven their way into my heart, have dominated my mind and I am forever changed just by reading Rachel's words.

Be My December once again proved just how talented Miss Brookes' is, creating characters rich in depth, strong, characters that are fully realised, that jump off the page, her ability to weave the back stories of not only main characters but of the supporting cast as well including Josh and Ashlyn, left me wanting, no needing more. Be My December gave me hope, that even the darkest moments, those that threaten to break your spirit, and steal your soul, can be fought, the demons that haunt your past, that dominate your dreams can be slayed, Rachel Brookes made me believe in happily ever afters.

Just finished "Be My December" by Rachel Brookes.
At first, when I read the synopsis, it didn't really appeal to me but then I read reviews and got curious. I won this book in a giveaway, for which I thank the author again.

If I had to describe Eden and Ky's story in one word, it would be : INTENSE.

Eden faced a more than traumatic experience when she was 20, since then it had been difficult for her to live as she used to so she keeps pretending to be someone different everytime and comes up with rules that seems really strange at the beginning but well, we kind of get it a some point...
Eden was a nice character, not an amazing one, but a nice one. She didn't particularly annoy me but I didn't especially loved her either.

Ky, on the other hand was amazing. I loved his character from the beginning.
I loved the other characters as well : Josh, Ashlyn, Ky's family, Douglas...

This story was sweet, sexy and full of angst. I liked that.

There were other few aspects I didn't like. To be honest, it's not the kind of book I particularly like to read but this one was nice enough. I would have liked for certain things to have been different, for example some scenes which I found unnecessary, as well as some drama which could have been avoided, and certain dialogues which were a bit too much...

But in overall, I recommend for readers who like a good romance, full of angst.

I did not like this one, it started off interesting and all. But i felt it so irrelevantly stretched out just to add more pages. Quite predictable and when she tried to add suspense or twist the plot a bit, the twist was lame, and ended few pages after. I felt the sake of this book was just erotica and sex scenes. Like seriously every here and there she'll jump to it. Kinda a good version of 50 shades of grey, sans BDSM!

I was graciously gifted a copy for an honest review.
This was my first Rachel Brookes novel and I must admit I was completely blown away.
When I stumbled on the meaning of "Be My December" I had tears. It touched me so deep!!
These characters were so well evolved and developed into one big loving family with the ultimate unbreakable bond.
Or is it?
Eden is a girl struggling, trying to figure out who she is after such a horrific event happened to her.
Vowing to never step foot in the city it all took place, crushed her soul, her future and dreams.
Vowing to say 'yes' to everything to avoid consequences. Until she meets Ky.
Time to pull up her big girl panties, years later Eden returns. Not a decision made by her.
Ky has his own secrets, nightmares every night for years. Doesn't feel worthy of being happy, or finding love or even redemption. That all changes when he meets Eden.
A friendship that bonds strong & quickly, opening each other up to the possibilities.
This whole process between Eden and Ky touched my heart, made it unbelievably heavy but in a good way.
Fairytales always end in heartache. Especially when not all is what it seems.
When pasts truths are revealed, secrets have a way of destroying everything worked towards rebuilding.

This book brought me through a world wind of emotions. I cried a lot while reading this book. It's very emotional and heart warming as well as heart shattering. Ky I love him, he's amazing friend, brother and son. He's been through he'll and he has a lot of resement. He's is learning to deal with while Eden pops into his life. Eden this has been through he'll more than once. She's completely shut herself off from men. She doesn't trust them and always has her guard up. Till ky Crawford comes into her life and stars to break down those walls. They both have there own demons to overcome. This book is definitely a grand slam Rachel Brooke's you are amazing and talented I can't wait to read all about Josh he's sexy as hell!

I really liked this one!

Okay I knew this book was going to be good, great even. I mean, It's Rachel Brookes. But what I didn't expect was to be taken on such an emotional journey that I didn't think I would recover from.

Be My December is Rachel's best book to date. It's raw, it's true, it's heartbreakingly wonderful. I fell in love with the characters as both individuals and as a couple.

I don't really want to say much about the storyline as the synopsis really does tell you enough to make you want to read it. It did for me anyway! And the fact that it was another book by Rachel Brookes.

I enjoyed the entire book, from the first word, to the last. The prologue capturing my interest right away and definitely making me read on for the rest of the story. The only small thing I will say is that at times, I felt the writing was a teeny little bit too descriptive (for me), but that didn't take away from the story itself. I just found myself reading a little slower. I looked past it because I was very much engrossed in the book and wanted to see what happened next. It didn't take away from the emotion of the story either, sometimes even heightened those feelings.

All in all this book was great. If you love those roller coaster romances that take you on a wonderful journey, make you feel things like only a book can do, then I recommend Be My December by Rachel Brookes.

I cannot begin to describe the myriad of emotions I had while reading this incredible book by Aussie author Rachel Brookes! I needed a glass of wine to get me through certain parts, but that’s just me!!
This story centers on Eden Rivers and Ky Crawford. I also loved Ky’s brother, his friend Ashlyn and Eden’s friend Tori. You’ll see how they play their part.
Ky!! I couldn't help but swoon over him!! Oh goodness!!!!
Eden had something awful happen to her 4 years ago, still trying to cope, she is offered a fantastic opportunity to work for Anderson Publications for a short period ....back in New York. The city she never thought she would return to. Whilst there she meets Ky.
What happens to Eden is something she never expects to ever occur again. I really don’t want to give anything away, but this is a MUST READ in my honest opinion.
This story is so incredibly heartwarming, yet it’s also very heartwrenching. You cannot help but fall in love with all the characters ( not the bad ones though).
I cannot express how incredibly talented Rachel is at writing such a wonderful book that draws you into the story.
Does this book have a HEA, well you will have to read it to find out. Believe me when I say you must put this on your TBR list.

4.7 The heart is there to be filled stars

description

I finished this book last night but my head is still a mess. Ky and Eden's story messed with my head.

It's this amazing love story not like Romeo and Juliet but better much better he got the girl kind of way better LOL.

It was about a girl who coped in weird ways after being assaulted and raped and scared out of her mind. My heart broke for this girl Eden in so many ways she survived she breathed but she did not live, she did not love she just was.

You know how little girls want price charming? I thing all little girls must want and have a Ky we all need a little Ky in some shape or form.

" His arms tightened around me and pulled me closer. "You deserve it all babe; to be kissed, held, caressed, loved, and cherished. That's your given right. Your tears confuse me; they destroy me; they frustrate me because I know someone has taken this away from you"

the book started out pretty strong, but pretty soon after, it started slipping. the premise was pretty good and it had a lot of potential. i don't have the right to judge the blood, sweat and toil of someone else. it's their baby. so i'll try to be as nice as possible.

i have a weakness for broken characters; the fact that they can heal and move on from their past and become a functioning member of society without hurt intrigues the fuck outta me. those are my favorite type of book. so i guess i was expecting something amazing outta this one. it was okay. i knew what would happen before it actually did. and it still needs a lot of editing. a lot. grammatical errors eeeeeeeeverywhere.

My heart broke reading this story but at the end it was restored. I've loved how Ky,our hero, makes our heroine,Eden, feel alive again day after day during his December.
This was the first time I've read something written by this author but it won't be the last because I'm already excited to know the other Crawford brother's story.

"You are like my own personal romance movie."

What happens when your choice is taken away from you? When a simple "yes" or "no" can change everything? In the blink of an eye, it did, Eden Rivers became a "yes" girl. Unable to say "no", wouldn't say "no", fearing that nothing good comes out from not agreeing to anything with anyone.

With Be My December, Rachel Brookes shares a different love story than her Breathe series. This one is more captivating, dramatic, and emotional in a way that will have you flipping through the pages and not notice the time. Wanting more. Curious to read the story. It also provoked my ever puzzle-mystery solving self to think and figure out the secret that Ky has been carrying around with him. And I always revel in stories that's not just emotionally moving but also thought provoking.

Eden Rivers is a changed woman from that 20-year old New Yorker who experienced the hard way what happens when you say "no" to someone. It's a painful lesson to learn and what happened to her that night is what made her the 24-year old cynic, who moved to San Francisco, that she is today. A young woman who no matter how much she wants to say no, she couldn't because of that fear of getting hurt again.

What happened to Eden was beyond horrible but the strength she showed is worthy of respect. She may think that she's been broken and damaged but she stood tall, survived, and positively lived her life. When she moved to San Francisco, she became a photographer. She loves it because she's "hidden" behind the lens, she sees the ugly and the beauty and she captures it. I admire how real of a person Eden exhibited. She was brave and happy but also hurting and scared. It shows how vulnerable someone is especially when that person suffered a traumatizing event.

How do you face the past that you've been trying to bury?

That camera that Eden is using to "hide" is what also brings her back to New York City. Right smack to the guy who would change her life. Ky Crawford, the head of the Bangs and Beats marketing team in Anderson Publication, Eden's job for a couple of weeks. Ky used to be a typical college guy; basketball, parties, and girls are what his life was about until it all changed because of one mistake that haunted him since then. He stopped the constant partying and the girls, he studied hard and worked well. Now, 4 years later, he's face-to-face with the beautiful Eden Rivers.

Does he know her? Do they know each other? How?

Ky came up with the idea and offered it to Eden, knowing she wouldn't be able to say no. One month. 4 weeks. Eden will be Ky's "December" and Ky is all determined to help Eden re-discover herself. Help her realize that she can say no and not get hurt. I loved Ky's intentions and I loved how awkward he sometimes get when does things like touch Eden or say things to her but deep down thinking he shouldn't be doing it and chastising himself. Too adorable and an honest feeling that I know I can relate to. Ky is a good guy and so perfect for Eden. I like them individually but I love them together. How they bring out each others' attitudes is a fun thing to read.

"After being stuck in the dark, my light was finally back, and she was shining like a diamond."

I was hooked and kept interested how everything will unravel all the while enjoying the banters between Eden and Ky. Seriously, Ky is bossy and straightforward when he wants to and Eden blushes like a schoolgirl. I got pissed and annoyed with that Jeremy dude, I fell in love with Josh, and I wanted to keep Ashlyn and Tori as my own good friends. My heart broke and together with the characters' journey, it also healed. It's always uplifting reading a story where they experienced tragedy and rising above it -- it's not just about the fact that they end up healing together but the how behind it all. The path that they traveled to get to the point of loving and healing, that's the most inspirational thing about everything.

Their story is like reading 2 sides of a coin, 2 stories that intersect in the middle. This is where and why Rachel Brookes got me. Two attractive and smart characters, funny second characters, intriguing plot and a twist to the story -- one that I started to figure out 6% in and made me enjoy the book further. As much as I loved Tate from the Breathe series, I think Be My December is Rachel's best work to date!

Stars: 4.5 Stars!
Recommended to: Every romantic readers who enjoy a little bit of thrill and intrigue in their stories. Ky will boss you and protect you and love you. And you'll love him back!
POV: First person. Dual POV.
Series: I think so? But standalone.
EXTRA COMMENT: There's one detail that bothered me and I was not really going to let it affect my rating because everything else was perfect but it got to be too much for me to ignore. It's just a minor thing but it's the type where if I point it out, you might look for it and ruin it for you when it shouldn't. It's like that How I Met Your Mother episode when they started pointing out each other's quirks and "shattering" their illusions about one another and that's all they see after. So, I'll let you read it. Who knows, you might not get as affected as I was. It's really no biggie!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the prologue, (Rachel Brookes has a habit of writing prologues that make you want to reach for the tissues.) I just knew it was going to be an emotional ride. My heart went out to Eden after learning what she went through that night.

December 16th was the night that changed Eden Rivers, he night she became a yes girl. The night that her walls came up, the night that she lock her true self and her dreams away. The night she vows never to let anyone get close to her again until she meets Ky Crawford, intense, confident and beautiful.

Ky is struggling with a secret and demons from his past. A regret that he wants to make right as it is controlling his life. He too has never really let anyone get too close until he meets a girl who can’t say no. Eden River reserved, independent and stunning.

I really enjoyed the storyline; you get the perfect blend of angst, drama, humor, suspense, romance, and sexiness. Told from Eden and Ky’s POV, meant that I got to know exactly what they were thinking, Rachel has done a brilliant, and effective job of describing Eden and Ky’s personalities and emotional feelings. It was heartbreaking, and heartwarming to read, I became invested in their story, and their emotions were my emotions at times.

The whole time I was reading I was trying to connect the dots try to work out what was ky’s secret, why was he so protective of Eden, and was Eden going to have to face demons from her past. Rachel kept me on the edge of my seat until till the end, and I loved that.

Ky is just so yummy, so sweet and so protective of those close to him. Eden she really was a special lady, I love her strength, her fighting spirit and courage. Eden and Ky are great together the friendship that they formed it was sweet and touching both not expecting the intense pull/ need that they get from each other.

There were some great secondary characters such Eden best friend Tori, who has been her rock at times. Ky’s brother Josh and best friend Ashlyn, who want the best for him. I’m looking forward to their stories as the series continues. There were a few that I didn’t like, and one that will forever be known as fuck face

Overall. I just loved this book. It does have a sensitive subject matter so it was heartbreaking, and heartwarming to read to read at times, but it’s well-written by Rachel. There is a lovely epilogue, and one that means we may see Eden and Ky and in future books. I loved how the story is connected to the Breathe series, and that some of the of the characters from that Series are in this one.

Having suffered from the Tate Connor effect, I was #TeamTate all the way, but now after meeting Ky, don’t get me wrong, he and Tate have a lot of similar qualities alpha being one of them, but I think I have to say I’m now #TeamKy.

If you loved Rachel’s other books, then, you wouldn't be disappointed with this one, and I recommend that you one- click today. Be My December was an emotional, heartfelt story, with suspense, and revenge that captivated me from start to finish.

“Favourtie quotes"

“Fight for what you love. Nothing is worth it, if you don’t have to fight for it.”

“Eden Rivers was the most tightly shut book I had ever encountered. I wanted to rip open the cover, disband the spine and tear the pages of her story into a million pieces. More than anything I wanted to help her write new words, on perfectly crisp untouched paper and to come up with the perfect title, for the perfect story”

“You grabbed my attention the very first time I saw you, and it hasn’t been lost since”

“Ky was simply the guy who I spent my nights with, the guy who would kiss me until I couldn’t breathe, who would touch me until I trembled, the guy who pushed his way into the darkness of my heart”

“The first time I saw you all I wanted was to know you. It wasn’t about being physical with you when it started. I just wanted you. My urge to protect you and keep you safe could be considered as insane.”

I am going to kiss you until I take your breath, until you can feel your heart thundering so hard in your chest that you fear it will stop beating. So, can I kiss you?”

“If it wasn’t for their cock I’d become a lesbian.” ….“You clearly haven’t got the right type of vibrator.”

“Obviously Australians have a different understanding of what consideration means. Fucking kangaroo lovers”

"...As the perfect world I knew was destroyed, I ceased to exist as Eden Rivers...From that moment on, I would become a yes girl-as saying no seemed to be the worst decision I ever made."

December 16th is just a regular day for most people, but for Eden Rivers, it's the day her world stopped and she would no longer be the same. Her choices were taken from her that day, and she lived the next four years of her life hidden behind a facade that had yet to be torn down...Until now.

"As long as she was still hurting and as long as I still hated everything I was, I would never give myself the chance of happiness or contentment. I didn't deserve it, it was as simple as that."

The day that Ky Crawford watched Eden Rivers walk into his life, he knew he was a goner. He saw past all the walls she had built up and he was determined to knock them down. He would do anything to protect her. He never considered himself a hero, if anything, he felt like he had something to prove. He needed to show this beautifully, broken girl that she needed to live again. The only problem was, he himself, was a beautiful disaster.

They had a month together. A lot can happen in a month.

You pull for these characters. You see them each struggle with their own battles. You want them to win; to come out on top. Ky's trying his best to show Eden that she is always in control of her life. She doesn't have to do what everyone wants to just because she's afraid of the outcome.

"I had no choice."
"You always have a choice."

Ky Crawford. Can I just say that he epitomizes protector? He's amazing!! He is everything Eden didn't know that she needed.

Ky pushed his own struggles aside to make sure she had everything and anything she needed. But how much can one person handle? Emotions are tough especially when you're not paying attention.

"I'm completely lost in you Eden, and I don't think I ever want to be found."

Gahhhhh! I can't tell you how many times that I wanted to crawl into this book and hug them! Ky and Eden had an amazing connection and you could see the love blooming between them. Buuuuuuuut...The past can be a big "bee with an itch".

How can you move forward when your past keeps pulling you back?

"You are wrecking me, Eden Rivers."
Truth be told, he was the one wrecking me.

December. One month. One decision. Two broken souls.

What would you do if you had one shot to change your biggest mistake?
Would you take that chance?
Would you risk everything you've faught against just to bring life to another?

Sometimes second chances are just that...chances.

"You were meant to Be My December ,Eden, but you've become my absolute everything."

"I've given you all of me Ky, and I need you to give me all of you."

"You can have everything of me, Eden. I will give you the world."

"I don't want the world, Ky, I just want you."

If you think you have read the best from Rachel Brookes, think again. This was hands down her best novel yet! I was so emotionally involved throughout this entire book. This is not an easy book to read. Meaning that there are some very tough and scary issues that are addressed, and you find yourself holding your breath as you turn the page. I can't tell you how many times I cried. Rachel made me feel what Ky and Eden felt. I felt their pain, cried their tears and held them tightly in my mind. It's truly beautiful how she handled these situations. I applaude you, Ms. Brookes!

Also, the secondary charactes are freakin' amazing!!! Josh Crawford. Lawdy mecry! Having both Crawford men in one book was hottness overload;) Ashlyn was such a perfect companion for the boys, and to Eden. She's a spitfire and she knows how to handle those Crawfords. You also get a few visits from some old friends! Let me just say...Rachel made me soooooo happy with bringing in a certain hottie from the past;)

This book was not a typical love story. There isn't a perfect start to Ky and Eden's story, but there is passion, forgiveness and a lot of learning to live again.

I recommend this book to everyone! It gets five wonderful stars and I can't wait for the continuing story:)

"Please find peace with me."

"The way you are looking at me now, gives me the peace I've been looking for the past four years."

Ky is a bachelor who works his ass off. He doesn't do relationships, he likes to scratch the itch and that is all there is to it. His best-friend is his younger brother, whom he would do just about anything for. He has lived his past 4 years of regret and it's weighing him down, doesn't know how long he can take it. Once he came to terms, he decided that it was time to face the gnawing issues he tried to ignore for years.

Eden is a photo editor and loves it. It's her way of therapy. December 16th was when her innocence was ripped from her by Jeremy Davis. That was her past that she can't seem to shake out of. She pretends to be someone else and calls herself YES girl. The reason for that is because of her past. If she says NO then she might end up in the predicament she was in before she became a great pretender, someone who has the smile plastered on her face and has no care in the world.

The journey they took together was just so sweet and I fell in love with it the moment I started reading this book. Having to go through what Eden went through was horrible. She was pretty strong for trying to move forward with her life. But once she meets Ky, the wall she put up may be destroyed since he knows his way around her heart. The proposition that Ky had for Eden might change both their lives forever. If she agrees with him, that is.

The love they had for each other was so strong that no one could break the bond they had. It was a second chance at love that I truly enjoyed. Since everyone deserves to get their second chance. I fell in love with Ky my knight and shining armor and Eden the strong, independent woman who fought her battles the best way she can. Some were good and some were bad decisions, but no one is perfect.

The story is about fighting to live your life, even after the horrible past you were given. You rise above it and move forward. "Don't let the past dictate who you are but let it be part of who you will become." Awesome job Ms. Brookes. Now, I'm curious about Josh's story and I cannot wait to read all about it.

Having recently finished this incredible book, I had to share with you my thoughts to try and help me get over my book hangover. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
If you are looking for a book with love, angst, terrific characters, lots of emotions, and one of the best book boyfriends I've ever had the pleasure of reading, then Be My December is for you. I have loved Rachel Brookes' books since reading Just Breathe and the Breathe series, and her writing keeps getting better and better. I believe this is her best book so far, it had everything I love in a story.
In Be My December, we read about Eden Rivers, who has spent the last 4 years pretending to be someone she's not. Saying yes to everything and everyone, because she knows that if you say no, the unthinkable might happen. The last time she did say no, it was the worst night of her life, and she is still hasn't recovered 4 years later. She returns to the one place she didn't want to see again, New York, for a once in a lifetime job opportunity and soon meets Ky Crawford, that, even though he isn't looking for love, protects her, and admires her, he also has a few secrets of his own. Ky, is one of my favourite leading men in a book. He has everything, the good looks, great job, faithful to the people close to him, and he's a die hard romantic that will leave you swooning like no other.
The characters are great to read, I especially loved reading a few familiar and favourite characters from Rachel's previous 'Breathe' Series that made me feel so comfortable knowing that they are featured here as well. Ky, his brother Josh, and his best friend Ashlyn, are a tight knit group that are protective of each other, and their friendship is one of a kind, but, it is Eden that is the star here, she puts on a brave, tough face, but, is so very vulnerable and fragile on the inside. The roller coaster of emotions and heartache this girl goes through, pulled at my heart strings, and left me wanting to jump right in the book to make everything right for her.

I can honestly say that Be My December has jumped straight onto my favourite books of all time list. You will love it, and if you are like me, you will read it in one sitting, as it is a hard book to put down. I still have this story and these characters constantly in my mind, and I'm sure they will be there for a very long time. I highly recommend Be My December to each and every one of you. Enjoy reading it, and have the tissues handy, as I had lots of cry baby moments. <3 Kell

I was given this Arc in exchange for my honest opinion...That moment in life when you read a book and never expect it to be half the book it actually was, this book grabs hold of you heart and begs you to hold on for dear life, a book about not just one person's life being changed but the lives of the ones that love the person that was hurt. This book delves into raw emotions Eden had something happen to her that no one should have to go through in life and it has left her emotionally crippled not being able to have a normal life ...over the years she has built up walls and lets very few people know the real her, she hides behind a fake persona. She promises herself that she will never step foot into the place where her nightmares came from until by pure chance she had the opportunity to go back and do her dream job for 5 weeks is she prepared to enter tbe minefield that is her past or will everything come flooding back and totally destroy whats left of her fragile self?Along comes Ky Crawford , hes not looking for love until the girl in the red jacket comes bounding into his life, his whole world shifts suddenly he wants to be anything she needs him to be a protector,a friend, a lover .... you can tell he really cares for her, you can also tell he is a torchered soul and something is weighing heavy on him. There are secrets that need to come out in order for people to move on with their lives and learn to live again. This book totally took my breath away, it was so well written and taken from someone that has had this type of hurt in their life its portrayed perfectly, I understand some people might find this book a taboo subject, but it was written tastefully and I would totally recommend reading it. I love meeting all the characters in this book some old and quite a few new, prepare yourself for having alot more book boyfriends ;) I'm totally hooked on all of them.... and although I can't pick sides team Tate & Sav or Team Ky & Eden I have decided that there is plenty of my heart to go around #OrgyTime #ImHookedOnBrookes #AintNoGoingBack #StalkerForLife #ImGreedyIWantThemAll #5StarRatingIf I could give this book more than 5★★★★★ I totally would, I believe it deserves every star it gets from me, Rachel created a masterpiece a book I could totally read then re-read, I will tell you though prepare to have plenty of tissues used and stick up on wine and chocolate ;)

I was graciously given an ARC Copy in exchange for an Honest Review by the Bombshell Goddess herself Rachel Brookes.

I promise No Spoilers.

I've read all of Rachel's books & Loved each of them. In my opinion her writing get better & better with each book. She's one of the few writers who are so talented she makes the reader feel a vested interest in the characters. Her character development in this book was one that literally brought me to tears more than once. I can only imagine the emotional toll it took on her to write this.

The main female character Eden had her virginity taken from her in a brutal sexual attack. She spends 4 years believing it was as brutal as it was because she said 'NO' .... She decides she can never say no again out of fear of the repercussions. So her answer is to avoid any interaction / situation that would place in danger of meeting a man.

The main male character is Ky. He's living with his own demons, that make him feel unworthy of any kind of relationship. To quote him, he's a man, he loves sex & knows how to get it, but that's the extend of his 'dating' one night only. He throws himself into his work, building the company, and working out to burn off his aggressions. He lives with the guilt & regret of his past actions. Or as his brother Josh says 'he stopped living'.

Eden & Ky meet at a club one night and all hell breaks loose. They're thrown into each other lives in ways neither of them were expecting.

The sub characters are all written equally as eloquently. They sometimes watch self destructive behavior with silent support for the love of Eden & Ky. But they're also very assertive in giving the well needed kicks in the ass when called for. I'm looking forward to watching their characters / story lines emerge in upcoming installments. I loved how Rachel brought back some of the characters from the Breathe Series (see vested interest).

This story will most definitely tug at your heart strings. It will cause you some anxiety. It will also, anger you at the brutality one woman goes through. But it's also a story of strength, courage & perseverance. The question becomes will love be enough? Will good or Pure Evil win? I assure you, this will captivate you & make you hope to hell True Love is enough!!
