I received a copy of the book from Voracious Readers Only. This book was a great read, although there were a few grammatical errors. Sean is a Tiger, in the School of the Cats. He’s also an elf, as is almost every other cat. Members provide protection to citizens and the type of cat they are is determined by the particular type of security services offered. There are also other schools, such as the School of the Bears, which offer different types of services. Sean finds a human male infant, whose mother was a prostitute, that was left to die in an alley way. Sean adopts him and raises Klogear as his own son. When Klogear is old enough, he’s trained to become a tiger. Once this training is finished, he needs to pass a set of rigorous tests in order to graduate from being a kitten to a cub. Most people don’t pass on the first attempt but Klogear passes with a perfect score. He’s the first human to do so. Sean becomes his son’s mentor and they travel extensively in order to fulfill the contracts they’ve taken. I’m not going to divulge any more of the story line. If you like a well written fantasy novel, then you’ll love this book. Based on the ending, I’m assuming there will be another book in the series and I can’t wait to read it!

This book appeared out of nowhere and I must admit, I didn't think much of it at first. Boy, was I wrong!
I loved the action scenes in this story, and I'm the kind of reader who skips them entirely. While there's a lot to praise in this novel, I feel the action sequences are the best.
The different Schools for warriors, wizards, and craftsmen reminded me a lot of The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Nothing wrong with that. It's a pretty awesome idea.
My only complaint is with the names. Some were simply unpronounceable, including one of the protagonists, to the point I just went Klfgermdljs in my mind every time the lad appeared on the scene.
I enjoyed the ending—good closure but with room for more (I'm not sure if there's a sequel coming). I definitely recommend this one. There is a lot of injustice but a good measure of satisfactory revenge. You can never have enough revenge.

I didn’t expect this book to hit me the way it did. I picked it up for the fantasy, but I stayed because I got attached to the boy, to his bond with his elven master, and to the quiet strength it takes to keep going when everything is against you. There’s something deeply moving about watching someone grow up with the odds stacked sky-high, yet still chase belonging with fire in their chest. The world is brutal, yes, but it’s also beautifully built full of magic, danger, and quiet moments of grace. I found myself tearing up in parts I didn’t expect. This isn’t just a story about war and warriors; it’s about what it means to choose your place in the world. And that final line? It’ll stay with me for a long time.

I'm not sure what to type, but I enjoyed this book immensely. The main characters are fully rounded and relatable. The universe the story takes place is slightly confusing. (I kept having to return to the map at the beginning of the book). Some of the secondary and tertiary characters are slightly myopic and thin, but they serve their purpose to the main character. The relationships that are explored in this will catch you off guard in the later portions of the book, so be prepared.
Overall, this is a great read. I hope you enjoy it as I did!

The author has created an intriguing world with an interesting and likable cast of characters. There is action and a touch of romance, magic and humor. I was disappointed that the story ended. I highly recommend the book.

I couldn’t finish this for two very petty reasons. First, it reminded me of The Witcher a lot, and I can’t stand The Witcher. Second, Klogéar is an extremely annoying name and got more annoying every time I saw it. Childish, I know, but I tried to get past it and couldn’t. Soz rock.

Excellent

Excellent of take of one persons journey through bigotry and hardship and how they excelled largely to prove that they could and how one or two people can make a difference to a life , I'd love to read further tales of the cat called Klogear the Red Sapien.

Not a story about cats.

A heart warming novel where the underdog is faced with considerable adversity, only to triumph at its conclusion. Binge read in a day.
