4 Sexy Vamp Stars

You. Wet and willing. In my bed.
Anything less than that and I will go mad. You get me?"
She nodded. "Yes. I get you."

Well, well, well, Miss Covington, looks like you got yourself a hot little PNR book here.

Whenever an author whose books I've loved comes out with a different genre, I'm always a little hesitant to pick it up. It doesn't always transition well and there's not many authors I can name that have successfully done so. But when Robin offered me an ARC of this book, I'll be honest, I was pretty much sold at the title. Now color me surprised when I started reading this book and realized that it's not just a sexy cover and a clever title.

Felicity "Cici" Trent and Thomas "Deacon" have a very long history together...and I mean long as in over 250 years long. A misunderstanding all those years ago left both of them brokenhearted. Deacon broke Cici's heart by walking away, and Deacon believed that she wanted another man.

For 250 years they've been dancing around each other and their feelings. Now talk about your pent up sexual tension.

But when Cici finds her business being threatened she knows there's no other man that she trusts to get down to the bottom of things more so than Deacon. So what if she still equal parts hates him and wants him? She'll do what she has to do to protect her business.

Deacon never got over the woman that broke his heart. He no longer believes in love after the only woman that he's loved didn't want him. But he's all about satisfying this burning hunger he has for her, and he's all about using any means possible to get it
I'll help you, but we can't keep playing these games with each other."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning we've danced around the issue of 'us' for about two hundred years too long. While we work together, I want us to explore each other. Up close and personal. In bed. THat would be more than adequate payment."
"And if I don't agree?"
"I'll help you. Free of charge. But I'll probably be an asshole." He shrugged. "Blue balls make me cranky."

What a coincidence, Deacon!

Well, of the lady blue balls variety anyway. Luckily Deacon delivered on the promise and then some. The chemistry between the two of them was hot, but nothing compared to when they finally get together. Because that was SCORCHING!

Deacon," Cici said in warning. She clawed at the covers, unable to stand much teasing as her legs began to shake with the slow build of her craving. "Don't tease. That's not nice."
"I never said I would be nice." He laughed darkly, driving into her deeper but not quite enough. "I only said I would make you come."

When Deacon finds out that it's not only her business that's in trouble, but her life as well, he knows that he will stop at absolutely nothing to protect her.

I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and sexy, and I really liked the clever world building and the "Other" characters that were introduced. This had a little bit of everything to make for a perfect sexy PNR read; action, suspense, steam, and one deliciously domineering and hot vampire.

Cici was a strong and sassy heroine and definitely gave as good as she got.

So why not 5 stars? I suppose it may have been the length of the book for me. I didn't quite have enough time to truly get invested in Cici and Deacon's relationship. I wished for a little more buildup. Don't get me wrong, I was invested enough to read this book in one sitting :) But I think that a longer book would have worked a bit better for me.

I really hope that Robin will make this into a series, as I'm practically salivating for a book for both Mya and Andy.

If you enjoy fun and sexy PNR reads, definitely don't hesitate to one-click on this one. You won't be left disappointed ;)

4.5--Vampire-licious--Stars!!

I don't read a ton of paranormal...mostly I think because they are a series with tons of books. I loved that this was a standalone. And well....just look at that cover.

Deacon and Cici first met in the 1700s when Cici was a human and Deacon was a vamp. They fell in love only to be torn apart and left heartbroken.

Centuries later Cici finds her business in trouble and her clients being murdered and she's the prime suspect. She turns to Deacon for help. Deacon agrees, but only if he gets what he wants in return.

"While we work together, I want us to
explore each other. Up close and personal. In bed. That would be more than adequate payment."

I am all for this Deacon!

As a promise to Cici's father, Deacon has been protecting Cici for years and he isn't about to let anything happen to her. What happens when Cici becomes the target?

"You. Wet and willing. In my bed.
Anything less than that and I will go mad. You get me?"
She nodded. "Yes. I get you."

Now it's a race against the clock. Deacon trying to find who is after Cici and why before they can get to Cici.

Deacon and Cici....were HOT together.

"I see you and all I want to do is strip you down and make you come over and over again until you’re hot and wet enough for me to just slide right in and take what I need.”

There were lots of secrets between Deacon and Cici....spanning over two decades. Secrets that could tear Deacon and Cici apart. What will happen once those secrets are revealed? Will Deacon be able to protect Cici and keep his promise to her father?

“I love you. I always have. Always will.”

I really, really enjoyed this one. I'm ashamed to say this was my first Robin Covington read, but it definitely won't be my last. This was the perfect mix of humor, suspense and steam. It's also a quick read, at less than 200 pages.

Hot, hot, hot! I got my hands on an advance copy of this and devoured it! All of Robin Covington's classic sexy style wrapped up in a paranormal theme. Deacon and Cici sizzled up my e-reader from start to finish. This is a fast-paced story with just enough paranormal world-building to make it exciting but not overly complex. Sexy, sassy, smokin' hot-- Covington's got it all!

I'm so glad to meet Covington.

Damn it was delicious.
I love adult PNR with axn/sus but I avoid action-filled books (and YA's) that folks consider them romances (pls stop). This one was a good one in my taste. Don't get the title wrong you, it's not just sex, either it's not full of shit. But the tension between them, sultry moments and burning dialogues were enough to melt.

I would sulk over the misunderstandings that separate them and why the fuck he didn't claim her if he loves her that much but in the end it makes sense- still I'm sulking over it.

The worst is where the biting-neck-sucking-blood-involved-vampire-sex for fucks sake. You should keep your promises...

“I’ll help you, but we can’t keep playing these games with each other.”

This is my first time read from the author, and surely will not be last. The story was good that got my attention. Though I admit, the first 25% of book, I was bored. But as I turn pages, it I can't put it down. The story has element of what I like in my vampire book. I love Deacon and Cici. Both characters are both stubborn yet can't resist each other. There are humor, suspense, love, sacrifices and the sex, oh boy. Cici is romantic and believed in forever, which contradict to Deacon's view. Deacon been watched and protected Cici for more than two hundred years, as he promised to her father. Cici's life and business threatened, she asked help to Deacon. Though they are talking for long time, Deacon knew everything about Cici. I like how protective Deacon to Cici. I like the banter too, they are funny at the same time sexy. When the two are together, they are like on fire.

The story also have shifter, fae and witches. I like the author blend them altogether in one good book. There were also some turn of events that surprised me. There were secrets and misunderstanding. I admired Deacon's love to Cici. He is jerk at times but still sweet inside. I like how it end though I wish there more of it. This is fantastic and fun read. I wish also there is book for Andy.

4 short, sweet and sexy stars!

200 years ago, following a vicious attack and at the request of her dying father, vampire Deacon turned the only woman he had ever loved into a vampire as she lay dying in his arms. Having been romantically rejected by her, he leaves her with somebody else to see her through her transition, and takes off on a mission to avenge her ‘death’ before purposely keeping himself out of her life to allow her to adjust and move on.

Felicity (Cici) and Deacon have had numerous interactions over the years, even working together on occasion, however after their murky past, and the constantly simmering sexual tension between them which they both ignore, their current relationship is an antagonistic one – even going so far as to publicly sling each other off.

In the present day, Cici is in trouble. Her successful human / supernatural ‘other’ dating agency is under attack, with her clients being killed off. Fearing for her life, and the lives of her friends, she comes to private security badass, Deacon, for help.

“Deacon, I need your help and I don’t have anywhere else to go.” …
“Well, that’s honest and I know how much you hated to say it. Spill.”

Deacon has been keeping a close eye on Cici throughout the years, so he knows exactly what kind of danger he is in. Relishing the opportunity to protect her openly rather than secretly, he agrees to help her… with a catch…

“We’ve danced around the issue of ‘us’ for about two hundred years too long. While we work together, I want us to explore each other. Up close and personal. In bed. That would be more than adequate payment.”
“And if I don’t agree?”
“I’ll help you. Free of charge. But I’ll probably be an asshole.” He shrugged. “Blue balls make me cranky.”

With few other options, and with a legitimate opportunity to finally have Deacon exactly where she has always wanted him, Cici accepts his offer. And so, amidst much teasing, bantering, alpha male moves, flirting and dirty talk, these two finally act on their feelings, and the sex is sizzling!

“I see you and all I want to do is strip you down and make you come over and over again until you’re hot and wet enough for me to just slide right in and take what I need.”

Their passion for each other is just a small part of the emotion between them, and I love the way things progress between these two. The feelings that they had for each other when they met haven’t gone anywhere, and I love that despite having over 200 years of secrets and hidden feelings between them, once they start to open up to each other they are both refreshingly honest about what they want and how they feel. And despite Deacon’s very vocal protests about the unrealistic nature of love and commitment, finally having Cici in his life changes him in a way he never would have expected, and it is absolutely beautiful!

At 143 pages, this is a quick read but the world is well developed, the characters are really fleshed out, and the romance is gorgeous with the UST building nicely, and Covington eventually giving us a beautifully swoony love story with lots of heart.

“I cannot live in a world where you do not exist. Do you hear me? I cannot.”

“I love you. Always have. Always will.”

The ending is action packed, with a few twists and turns, and I loved the way the story played out right through to the very satisfying ending. With fabulous side characters, and a mystery that has only started to be unraveled, I can only hope that the story will continue with more books.

I loved it – 4 stars.

Last week I told a friend I wasn't a fan of paranormal romance. I wasn't lying, but it wouldn't be the truth if I said it now. Robin Covington has converted me. The thing is reading Sex and the Single Vamp was a no brainer; I've read all her non-PN books and loved every one, so I had nothing to lose.

Cici Trent and Thomas Deacon have history. 250 years of it. In a world where Humans and 'Others' co-exist, although not necessarily in harmony, they've fought wars together, lived their own lives, but now Cici is in danger; her dating agency which matches Humans and 'Others' is being sabotaged, her clients are being murdered and she's in the frame. Someone wants her dead and Deacon is the person she turns to; the strong, protective, brooding vampire who turned her and disagrees with her ideas of co-existence. But he has a condition and lets just say this vampire does possess skills in nocturnal activities...

“You. Wet and willing. In my bed.”

Oh Deacon *sigh*, you had me at "You".

It had it all and, as has become the norm when reading one of Robin's books, I turned into a sighing, swooning puddle of a woman. With sexy scenes that will send your heart racing, suspense, passion, action, heartfelt touching moments combined by those that had me wailing 'NOOOO!' plus a twist I didn't see coming at all, I loved it and it was a refreshing change from the normal immortals must live their lives in secret plot line.

So the moral of this story is, if you aren't a fan of PN romance, sink your teeth into Sex and the Single Vamp. And if you are, the same applies. I'm now keeping everything crossed that Andy and Mya will get books... (yes, that's me blatantly hinting, I have no shame).

Robin Covington is a new author to me and I am so very glad I took a chance on her when I was offered a review copy of this book! I think this is her first foray into paranormal romance - it looks like her other books on Goodreads are all contemporary romances. I enjoyed this book very much and I certainly hope she continues to write in this genre and specifically in this world as there are many other interesting characters we meet in this book who deserve to have their story told! Please.

I really liked the world that she created where humans and "Others" (her term for all supernatural beings) live side-by-side and co-exist reasonably well together. Like all visible minorities in our real world, there are some tensions and conflicts that have arisen since they are given equal rights and freedoms under legislative law. Some groups who want the world to go back to the way it was when the Others hid in the dark and existed only in the imaginations and nightmares of humans. Unfortunately, one or more of these groups have started to cause some serious trouble for Cici (Felicity) Trent because she has the audacity to suggest and even promote the idea that humans and Others can actually learn to love each other and she has even opened up a matchmaking agency to do help them accomplish this crazy idea! And even though Deacon has publicly stated he does not agree with Cici's crazy idea that humans and Others should be living and loving together, he is still her protector and biggest fan. He is more than willing to step in, with his company Aura Mortis Security, to ensure her safety and find and stop whoever is scaring her.

The sexual tension between these two practically leapt off the page the moment you start reading! Cici and Deacon are incredibly hot together - be it sexual tension or a good argument, these two burn for each other.

If you haven't already picked up this fantastic deal of a book for 99 cents then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? START READING!

Cici is a romantic who believes in love that lasts forever and she's made a business out of helping both humans and supernaturals to find it. Unfortunately not everyone shares her ethos, particularly when it comes to relationships between the two groups and they're determined to destroy her reputation by whatever means necessary. Cici knows she is in trouble and the only person she can think of to help her is Deacon, the man who broke her heart over 200 years ago. Deacon has never forgotten Cici, he made a promise to her father that he would always protect her and although he failed once he is determined never to let it happen again. He won't admit that he loves her but he has never got over their separation and when she comes to him asking for his help he decides to take full advantage of the fact that she's back in his life.

I'm a huge fan of Robin Covington's contemporary romances but the paranormal has always been my first love so I was incredibly excited when I found out she had written Sex and the Single Vamp. I had such high expectations for this story but unfortunately, although I liked it I wasn't as wowed as I had hoped to be. I liked the world that Robin has created, one where humans are aware of the supernatural creatures but there is still tension between the different species. Although Deacon has spent centuries working as a soldier and a police man the police department has now been split in two (one to deal with humans and the other to deal with supernatural issues) so he decided to go his own way and set up a private security firm with a friend. This actually works in his favour when it comes to Cici's case because with the police departments busy fighting about who has jurisdiction they aren't getting very far in the actual investigation.

I enjoyed learning more about Cici and Deacon's past, they were obviously both crazy about each other but had been pulled apart by a huge misunderstanding. As much as they have both tried to move on over the last 200 years they have never forgotten each other and they do have great chemistry together. I think where the story fell down for me was that I didn't feel connected to the couple in the present, I was more interested in their history and the way they felt about each other now just felt a bit forced. I'm usually a huge fan of the smut scenes (it's one of the reasons I love my adult romances!) but in this case they just didn't quite hit the spot and I'm struggling to pin point exactly why - it's not that they were badly written but they just didn't get my motor running!

Sex and the Single Vamp may not have been my favourite Robin Covington story but I liked the world and I'm definitely intrigued by some of the side characters (Cici's best friend Mya and Deacon's friends Andy and Antonio in particular) so if this does turn out to be the beginning of a series I'll definitely be checking out the next book.

Oh my gosh. I don’t know what to say about this book. I totally mean that in the BEST way possible. Sex and the Single Vamp is the best book I’ve read from Robin Covington. This is a HOT paranormal romance with suspense elements; delivering on both in spades.

Almost two hundred and forty years ago, Thomas Samuel Deacon made a promise to turn a dying Felicity “Cici” Trent into a vampire and protect her with his life. He also made a promise to himself to make the people responsible for killing her and her family pay with their lives.

Fast forward to the year 2014 and Deacon, as he likes to be called is richer than he could ever imagine and the owner of Aura Mortis Security. Cici is the owner of Your Other Half, a dating agency who matches humans with Others (non-humans). There are people in the world who believe humans and Others should not be together. Deacon is actually one of those believers. Cici is currently a media darling and is on all the invite lists, but her business is starting to suffer. Her clients are being killed and the police think she’s behind the deaths. The only person Cici can turn to is Deacon, a man she hasn’t seen in over 70 years and also the man who broke her heart.

Deacon has his secrets. He's willing to prove Cici’s innocence if she will simply sleep with him. Of course, it can’t really be that simple. Deacon is a real piece of work. I don't know if I should be turned on by his Alphaness (is that a word?) or want to kick him in the shins. Not only are the police investigating Cici for murder, but someone is also trying to kill her. With multiple attempts made on her life, time is running out to find out who is behind everything. But is the threat closer than anyone thinks? Deacon’s word is his honor. He always keeps his promises and he is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to make sure the world is never without Cici.

Sex and the Single Vamp is simply mesmerizing. Robin’s writing allows the scenes to come to life on the page, as if you are actually there witnessing everything. I am so hoping this book is the start of a new series.

Yet another sizzling hot book from Robin Covington. When I read the blurb I got the feeling I would love it and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

I got everything I wanted. Drama, romance, pain and love with some extra awesome-sauce friends in the picture.

Deacon is an alpha male at all times, bar a small moment near the end when his uncertainty is heart-warming.

Cici is another strong character that knows when to press forward and when to just stand strong. Her personality is like her hair, fiery yet soft.

Another must read from Robin.

Sex and the Single Vamp is the first book I have read by Author Robin Covington. Per her website this is the first paranormal she has written.

WOW please write more!@!

Loved the way she took the characters through loops - Through the moment they met (which things were unresolved and misunderstood by both of them) - Through little looks at their history of them being reunited here and there for 200 plus years but not giving into their own desire they both wanted to. When they finally give in to the desire WOW was it HOT! Loved the writing would most definitely read more paranormals from this author!

Robin Covington is a new to me author and I believe this is her first foray into paranormal romance and I enjoyed it!

For me this was a fun light read which is what I needed after reading some pretty dark novels recently. I found both characters likable and the secondary characters fun and I'm anxious to read their stories. The novel was fast paced and the world was unique. The humor that Mya brought to the story was invaluable.

If you are looking for a fun, quick read I would definitely recommend the as a possible read. 4 stars and will be looking our for more by Robin Covington.

I think this whole vampire stuff is just not my genre. Since I'm rarely reading paranormal stuff, this book made my head spinning. There was too much going on. I'm just not used to it and couldn't get into the story. It was a good and short story but

I think I will stay away from vampire stories in the future.

it was pretty well written. romance mingled with suspense. the suspense was not only in one level. One from the intrigue and the other was on the death of the vamp.
the author put a love story with finesse! it was heart wrenching. Love wasn't recognized but it was given. but unconsciously he was liked that because he was scared of a life without that love. it was pretty intense in the last chapters. I didn't think it would have been that kind of a book.
no regret reading it.

3+ stars. A fairly predictable, but cute story about a huge misunderstanding that tore two lovers apart long ago, and a new chance to put things right in the present. All's well that ends well, I guess. This was a short little read, just the right distraction on a Sunday evening, especially if you fancy Barbara Cartland with a modern (and less chaste) twist;-)

That was fun! A sexy paranormal romance with vampires and long unrequited lust/love. Deacon and Cici were fiery together as they try to solve the mystery of who is murdering her clients from her matchmaking company and why. Some very sexy scenes, lots of action, and great worldbuilding. Would love to see this author write more PNR!

First of all: I never read something written by Robin Covington before but this was definitely not the last book I read. this was a hot, sensual and action-packed read with a very good background story.

Deacon promised Cicis father to always protect his daughter - so it is not really a question that he will help her. but because of the hidden feelings between them, he also demands from her a night in his bed.

ok, I can imagine what you think now: that a...! that was my first reaction but believe me, it is not as it seems ...

I really liked the characters and that we got the opportunity to get to know them and experience their feelings. the passion and tension between them was great and it was very well-done how this sexual tension develops in love

what was really surprising for me was, that I got much more emotional development and feelings from Deacon than from Cici. I could experience his feelings and loved every minute of it!
Cici was much more open on the whole, which was maybe the reason, why her feelings were not so intense for me

the ending was very fast-paced and action packed, although I would have loved to get a better explanation for some of the developments in the end ...

all in all: it was a sizzeling read, which made me smile and brought me nearly to tears twice and I recommend it for all lovers of paranormal romance.
I really hope to see both of them and some of the secondary characters again!

Robin Covington jumps into the paranormal pool and does it with style with this release. I had the honour of reading this book early and let me tell you, it's fantastic.

I was hooked from the prologue and didn't want to put it down till I was finished. I loved Deacon and CiCi. The sexual tension and spark between these two is strong, I guess since it's being building for 239 years, it's understandable. When they give in, wow, talk about burning up the sheets.

Throw in some intrigue, in the form of evil zealots, who think the world would be better without the "Others", meaning vampires, weres and fey who live openly amongst the humans, a couple of oh crap that didn't just happen moments and you get a book that will suck you in, keep you reading and have you craving more.

Oh and I can't forget to mention the secondary characters who, if you or your publisher are reading this Robin Covington, need their stories to be told !!! We need books for Andy, Mya and Antonio as soon as you can write them.

Robin Covington you have done it again, you have given a fresh voice to the vampire genre and I hope this isn't the last we read from you in this vein.

As a huge fan of Robin Covington's contemporary romances, I was thrilled to learn she was writing a paranormal romance. I seem to recall reading a post she made while this book was a work in progress, expressing a touch of self-doubt that this was her genre. After reading the ARC (generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review)I have to disagree with her.

Ms. Covington sets the story up for the reader, gives us just enough to hook our interest and want to know more, and then thrusts us into a fabulous read of a darkly handsome, alpha vampire, a strong, independent female vamp, a story of suspense, murder, lies, misunderstanding and sex hot enough to make you break out in a sweat. Top this off with a cast of secondary characters you hope will get their own stories, and one scene so vividly detailed that at one point you feel like you need to shade your eyes, and while everything is wrapped up in the end, you find yourself wishing the book were longer.

I personally would love to see a book about Andy or Antonio and the were, and Mya, the Fey.

I have to admit, this is my first book by Robin. I actually bugged her for a copy because she seemed so nice and genuine when we chatted about her Contemporary series. Now, I’m going to go back and read her other series, because if she can write such a hot, steamy and suspenseful story about vampires, it would take a Y2K type of catastrophe for me not to love them. I love when authors, especially new to the PNR genre, add little twists to the vampire mythology. Robin did not disappoint with her twists, in fact I didn’t see one coming. Usually quick reads like this don’t have too much angst or heartrending instances, almost like they are fluffy reads. I do not mean that in a rude way, because sometimes that is exactly what my mind (and heart) need during a long week at work. But this story actually made me put down my Kindle towards the last 20% of the story, because I did not need a broken screen. I don’t want to spoil it, so I won’t tell you if it’s because I was mad, upset, or extremely happy. You’ll have to get this hot vampire tale and make your own decision.

Sex and the Single Vamp was an AWESOME, SEXY & FUN paranormal read that I couldn't put down!

I loved, loved, loved our vamp hero, Deacon. He was the epitome of a tortured hero and a badass extraordinaire. Just imagine being in unrequited love with someone for 254 years!!!

Cici was our heroine, a smart and independent vamp. She ran a matchmaking agency where it didn't matter if you were a vamp, shifter, or human... she'd work on finding the right mate for you.

The chemistry between the two of them was so hot my fire was burning. Robin's writing flows -doesn't matter what she's written - she engages the reader from the very beginning in every one of her books and never lets go.

This book was a true treat! It had me both laughing out loud and teetering on the edge of my seat.

5 STARS!!!!!!

2 stars :(

I feel detached to the characters, it's written in 3rd person, so maybe that's one of the reason. I'm not very fond of stories written like this coz, well, one reason is I don't feel that much connection with the characters and there's a few author's who can pull a 3rd person writing style really well.

I just breeze through the story and read the conversations.

I got interested when she was attacked by FAR on chapter 9, I actually read the whole chapter.

All in all, the novel is okay. it's quite interesting, and the mention of FAE makes me want to read the FAE CHRONICLES again....

Loved it! It's a challenge for me to find a terrific paranormal romance lately. This one was AMAZING. Love Cici and Deacon together. They were feisty, strong, and sexy. The world she created and the feel of the book were fantastic. Their history, secrets, and pull between them stirred up a nice angst cocktail and when they got together it was smoking. I hope she writes more in this series. Would love to read more. I'll have to venture into her other books as I really enjoyed her writing style.

What would our world be like with Vampires and Shapeshifters living together in Washington D.C.? Ms. Covington brings us up close and personal with a matchmaking agency being focused on by a hate group, and the head of a security agency who has been in love with our heroine for two hundred and forty years! Did I get your attention?

I couldn't put this down. I didn't want to put this down, for a book under 200 pages, it really manages to build a great world and a really great romance. It's fun, quirky, funny, so sensual and smoking hot that I just couldn't wait to continue reading. This reminded me of old school Katie McAlister & Kerrlyn Sparks, modern Others in the human world and they are funny as hell. Deacon was amazing and so hot, a but slow but hot. I mean I get why he did it, but damn son, have some self love. Cici was a woman after my own heart, if you can't beat 'em for now join 'em then move on. Or not.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story. ( I feel like I say that a lot, but it's true, so far this year I've enjoyed a lot of the books I have read including this one). This was just a fun story and as I was reading I kept thinking she's a lucky woman. I loved that when faced with heartbreak she decided to help others instead of hiding away and dying slowly. Not having the happily ever after that she wanted she created a match making business to help others find their own happiness. Which was funny when you found out her nickname. Felicity has done so much for others than when given the chance to take something for herself this time she doesn't hesitate.

Deacon has given Cici the last two hundred years to find another and make herself truly happy, it is what he can do since he failed her, even though she broke his heart by rejecting him. Boy oh Boy does Deacon have it coming to him, he's so clueless when it comes to Felicity. I loved his best friend Andy and the life he was leading, even his debauched friend Antonio ( who I totally thought of as Eric, yeah now that's a nice image *drools*.. wait what were doing..ok sorry back to the review).

I loved how Deacon and Cici had history & secrets & still had a smoking hot chemistry between them.Their story moved through history and made them a couple before they became a couple. Although the explosive secret Deacon was keeping totally warranted her reaction. At the end I was happy the way the story turnout out, even though for a few minutes there I might have teared up at the emotions expressed. I kinda figured out who the villain was before that, but I'm a suspicious gal ( plus I read tons of suspense/mysteries) I give everyone the side eye until the end of the story

I loved the little re-write to history that made this story plausible and made it fun and great to read. I wish this was a series so we can see what happens to Grand Fey Mya ( who I love by the way) & to Andy and even Rodriguez. I enjoyed the jaunt into this world and the hottest that was Deacon & Cici together. Their adventures were well worth the lack of sleep to finish it because I started it late at night ( why do I do this to myself??). Check out the excerpt to see why it's so hot.
Excerpt

He rose from his perch on the desk, straightening to his full height, and pressing as much of it as he could against her body. She stiffened at first contact, but as they stood and stared at each other, her body melted into his, softening and warming with the heat they created by just being in the same room. He moved his hand from her chin, skimming the soft skin of her jaw until he speared his fingers into the silken titian strands of her hair. They were slippery and cool against his skin as he burrowed in and palmed her head, tugging her forward. His movements were fueled by need and less smooth than he normally used in the seduction of women, but this was Cici in front of him with her full breasts pressed against his chest and her lips parting on a sound somewhere between a whimper and a sigh. “I think…” She licked her lips, the wetness triggering a response in him that made his knees buckle slightly. “I think you might be exaggerating this attraction between us.” “Oh really?” He let his fangs descend, the tension in his body screaming for some release—screaming for her blood. But he never engaged in blood play. It was too intimate for him, a connection with another person that he had no interest in making. Sex was fun. Sex was hot and dirty and very over once the sweat cooled on your skin. But Cici made him want to sink fang and cock into her so deep they were one body. He wouldn’t allow it, but the need was distractingly powerful. “Happy.” He murmured his nickname for her against the warm column of her neck, his fangs grazing lightly as he blazed a trail of kisses up to her ear. She shivered, her small hands clutching at his shirt and dragging him closer, her legs parting slightly, skirt riding higher, to allow him to insert his thigh between hers and wedge their bodies together. His dick, hard and aching, pressed against her core as they humped slowly in an ancient rhythm that felt new with her. He whispered in her ear. “You are a woman who has pretended to be other people for your country. You have stolen, betrayed, and killed to protect others. You are brave, smart, and proud.” He pulled back slightly to look into her eyes, the flash of blue resembling the purest part of flame. “You’re not a coward or a liar.” Deacon kissed her then, his mouth coaxing the truth from her that her pride would not let her admit. She opened to him immediately and he took what she offered. His tongue swept inside her mouth, tangling with hers before he retreated to run a fang along the tender skin on the inside of her lower lip. Cici gasped, her hands traveling from his shirt to tangle in his hair, her tug not so gentle as she dragged his mouth his mouth back to hers. This time she led the possession, taking him with a rough need that contradicted her earlier words. He palmed her ass, the skirt riding up high enough for him to feel smooth skin and give him the fantasy-inducing knowledge that she wore a thong. Cici rode his thigh, the kiss becoming messier and more carnal with each passing second. Deacon wanted to reach down, unzip his cargo pants, and free his heavy length from its current place of strangling torture. It would take no time to push aside her flimsy excuse for underwear and slide inside until she covered him with her warmth. Now was not the time. His entire crew was just outside of her shitty excuse for a security door and he would not be caught with his pants around his ankles by one of his men. He pulled back reluctantly, breaking the physical connection, but unable to do anything to sever the tether of emotion that tied them together. Cici stumbled backward on her high heels, catching herself on the small conference table behind her. She looked dazed, aroused, and delicious. “You. Wet and willing. In my bed.” He licked his lips, tasting her as he willed his fangs to recede. “Anything less than that and I will go mad. You get me?” She nodded. “Yes. I get you.” “No more lies about how we don’t have to do this, that we don’t want to do this.” He could hear Andy walking toward the office down the hallway, but this needed to be said once and for all. “No lies between us as long as your life is in danger. Agreed?” “Agreed.” Cici looked as if she’d just signed away her soul to the devil. He knew what that felt like; he’d done just that two hundred and thirty-nine years ago.

I enjoyed it enough to put it on my favorites to re-read collection and I can't wait to read more from the author.

4 “Blue balls make anyone cranky” Stars

Ooooweeee! was this one hot. Sex and the Single Vamp turned out totally different from what I was expecting and I loved it.

Cici’s business is finding forever love for her clients and the fact that she matches supernatural beings with humans is not an issue for her. In her eyes love is love no matter the species. Unfortunately for her, someone out there is not so happy with her open-mindedness or that of her clients. A series of murders that point to her have her seeking the help of the one man she can’t stand.

Deacon is the quintessential vampire. Tough, strong, and alpha-bossy: a real warrior. He’s also a complete a-hole to Cici. Although she can actually pay him for his help he asks for sex in exchange.

As their chemistry jumps right at you from the pages this is not as unbelievable of a request as it sounds. Centuries of resisting their attraction and covering it up with snark and banter lead to explosively hot bedroom shenanigans.

“Meaning we’ve danced around the issue of “us” for about two hundred years too long. While we work together, I want us to explore each other. Up close and personal. In bed. That would be more than adequate payment.”

“And if I don’t agree?”

“I’ll help you. Free of charge. But I’ll probably be an asshole.” He shrugged. “Blue balls make me cranky.”

I can’t lie, this quote totally sold me on the book. And everything that follows was just as good.

Cici and Deacon’s historical feud comes from a miscommunication issue when she was still human. As they spend time and work together, their past differences begin to unravel and soon they are realizing things were not as they thought they were.

I loved that Cici had a backbone and kept Deacon on his toes. She was loyal, caring and truly believed in what she preached. Deacon was just dreamy: he was kind of a jerk in the beginning but when we learn why he acts that way it was all forgiven. I actually loved the two of them together.

The suspense and mystery were very well done and their sexy times were incredibly hot. There’s action, humor and the love-hate-banter that was so good it had me snorting. I really enjoyed reading Sex and the Single Vamp and I hope there’ll be more of it as I loved some of the side characters and I desperately want them to get their own HEA.
