Being the right hand man to Benito Vitale isn’t always fun. From doing his dirty work, to being shoved into the trunk of a car by his husband, I’m just doing my best to survive. So, when I discover the thief that broke into our warehouse is in fact his cousin and I’m forced to babysit, of course crap hits the fan.
Caleb is everything I shouldn’t want. He doesn’t fit into my world. A biker with a heart of gold, who needs that nonsense?
But for some reason, I’m drawn to him. I’m obsessed with him. Whether he’s smiling or calling me Daddy, it makes me weak. Even when it’s time to let him go, I don’t want to. Caleb is mine. I will do whatever it takes to keep him.
Forever.
Bad Habits was formerly titled Trouble from the Ruthless Daddies collab. This is the same story with added scenes for more Tony, Caleb, and Hitters goodness. Enjoy!
When reading the Vitale series, you are going to come across Tony, Benito's childhood friend and bodyguard. In that series, Tony is a really good character, but this book changed that for me.
I didn't like the story at all. It's not good. It involved a lot of mentioning of the Vitale brothers, just to give the story an edge, the authors tried to continue with the same energy in this book and it didn't work. Tony needed something completely different.
🔵 A Vitale brother's cousin/ Tony, Benito's bodyguard 🟣 Age gap 27/32 🟢 Some size difference 🟠 Both gay 🟡 The MC is completely pointless, 5 poor guys who steal money and give it to a few charities, it wasn't good 🔵 Possessive, clingy - but looked awkward af 🌶️ Some sex, a few kinks thrown in there, one too many and none properly developed, it didn't work for me; some rimming, some oral, one penetrative scene; watersports, restraint; daddy kink; t/b
Tony did not get a good book.
Tony caught Caleb robbing the Vitales, then found out he's their cousin, then had to break him in and show him the ropes in the business and had him living in his apartment. In that volatile time together Tony supposedly fell in love.
Caleb is another character that came out of nowhere, just like Blake - but Blake did fit into the Vitale world, while Caleb didn't.
Caleb's MC club where he was the 'prez' was very amateurish, he definitely doesn't feel like a leader and these guys just should've had another thing going on, the MC club doesn't suit them.
Caleb is also an asshole. He's annoying. A completely unlikeable character that tries to look much like Blake, but with a conscience. Caleb's character was probably the first to exist in this universe, but Blake is his polished up version and definitely a much, much better one, even though he didn't get a good story either.
A lot of elements in this story were a complete copy-paste of the Vitale series and they didn't work. I wouldn't add the brothers, they didn't contribute anything, I'd only add Benito, he's a fantastic character, fits everywhere and he has a lot of importance to Tony.
That being said, their friendship wasn't really that good in this book, they always seemed tight in the Vitale series, but in this book the authors didn't give them a lot of page time together and when they did, it wasn't good. They are good friends, so I honestly expected a lot more.
Tony should've been older. Definitely older. Maybe even a bit older than Benito. I did see him as a Daddy, but not with Caleb being 5 years younger and a complete asshole that didn't even get Tony, I didn't feel any kind of connection or intensity that Tony's character demanded. The story didn't have the emotional charge for a character of his calibre, so it came off as silly most of the time.
"Sure, Tony is an ass, but he's the guy I decided to be with."
I honestly wanted more for Tony. A different guy. A more developed, interesting, intriguing, a little more submissive and enigmatic character than this hillbilly Caleb, for sure. There's absolutely no connection there. And Tony just came off as an obsessed idiot when he should've been an obsessed, fierce Daddy.
* Fun fact : in the book Tony is a registered notary and did you know that in Europe you have to be a lawyer to be a notary? That's a highly trained legal professional here, often on the same level as a senior lawyer or a judge, while in the USA literally anyone can be a notary?? You've gotta be 18, know how to read and write and do a course! A course!!! 😄😄🤦
Caleb is the president of a small MC (not portrayed like usual MC books) and he and his guys steal drugs from Tony’s boss who are the Vitale brothers from these authors other series. Caleb gets caught and it’s Tony’s job to get some answers out of him. Tony goes pretty hard on Caleb, he beats him up and waterboards him until he’s finally told that Caleb is his bosses cousin and he can stop the torture and Tony is to take Caleb under his wing and teach him how to work for the mafia. So these guys really hate each other at first and I wondered how in the hell they would go from all of that to falling in love but it was done really well.
Tony increasingly becomes obsessed with Caleb. After they hook up Tony starts becoming possessive of Caleb. He definitely falls hard and fast for him after that. I liked both of the characters though we don’t get to see much of them in a relationship. I honestly felt so bad for Tony when they had their one week breakup because we can see how much he loves Caleb and how bad he’s hurting and Caleb wouldn’t even give him the time of day. I do feel like Caleb’s reaction was extreme all because Tony wanted Caleb to stay with him more than anything.
There were a few of their kinks that were just not my thing at all. I skipped over a few of those scenes. There also wasn’t too much of a plot here. Not really any big villains or anything you usually find in mafia books.
So this book comes after the third book in the Vitale brothers series. It’s after Benito and Harlow are together. I did read the fourth book in that series before reading this so I found a few inconsistencies. Like how in this book the brothers knew their other brother Gianpaolo was alive but in the other series they all thought he was dead so I was super confused on that. Another inconsistency was Caleb saying his bff Drav, liked men earlier on in the book and then later he talks about him being as straight as pencil so that confused me as well.
Anyway I did enjoy this story for the most part. I’ll definitely continue the series.
NO CHEATING NO OM DRAMA (Tony is just very possessive) ONE WEEK BREAKUP NO VIRGINS OR MANWHORES MURDER DADDY KINK (only in the bedroom)
I am so happy this story is beginning the fantastically addicting Hitters series. Caleb is the perfect person to start this series and I love getting more from these entertaining thieves and their significant others.
I Loved this possessive, crazy mafia daddy romance between the Vitale's main enforcer Tony, and Caleb, a local thief who fails so spectacularly, thus making him Tony's responsibility to mold into the perfect asset for the Vitale family.
Together they have a strong enemies-to-lovers vibe that is sizzling with chemistry. I loved seeing Tony's intense ownership and possession of Caleb. He is immediately drawn to Caleb and doesn't realize his feelings until further into the story.
Overall I love every story set in the Vitale world. These characters are so much fun with their crazy antics and obsessive tendencies. It was a joy to be in Tony's headspace, he is very direct, imposing, and quite a dynamic character. I loved getting more of him and seeing Caleb throw him for a loop. He is more than anything Tony was expecting. Such a wild ride of a story that went in directions I was not expecting, but wholly enjoyed.

This was a fun read! I will admit, I was not sold in the beginning, but then a “Daddy” was dropped and I was locked in.
Caleb (MMC) and Tony (MMC) have a meet disaster. A meet tragedy, if you will. Caleb is caught stealing from the mafia and his torture is led by none other than Tony; I really thought there was no coming back from that but forced proximity defo goes a long way.
I loved the way Tony’s obsession, possessiveness and jealousy only grows as the book goes on 😍😍 he went THROUGH it with how he felt out Caleb. They both have to grapple with the fact that Tony wants Caleb to only want and need him but, Caleb cannot stomach the thought of being separated from his found family that is, his MC.
I know Benito and his brothers have their own books but, as I haven’t read them, I kept flipping between whether I actually liked Benito or not because, sometimes I thought he was shitty, and sometimes I thought he was a good friend to Tony.
And of course, the smut was smutting 🥵
Scale: ⭐️ - would've DNF'ed / continued out of spite ⭐️⭐️ - shit, but whatever ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - meh, could've been better ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - lit 👅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - loved it, inject this shit into my veins 🤪
This was not as great as the Vitale Brothers series. It was okay if you're looking for a silly little bedtime story. Beware: there is a lot of kinks in this relationship and some of them are not everyone's cup of tea.
The thing is, I couldn't connect with neither of the characters as much as I did with the other series. Even when I knew Tony, I just couldn't warm up to him. And Caleb was not was I was expecting at all. Their romance was not for me for the simple fact that Caleb isn't meant to be with him. It was as if he was pushed to like all of Tony's kinks and be with him. It sort of reminded me of Gianpaolo and York, whose romance I didn't enjoy as much as the rest of the siblings. I didn't like that Caleb wasn't as morally wrong as Tony. Yes, I know how crazy this sounds but look at it this way: Benito met his match with Harlow, they're both crazy. Giancarlo found his other half in Ash, Ash calms him down but would also kill for him. Enzo is with someone who understands him and wants to be with him. But here? It's like Caleb hated everything Tony did as if he wasn't also dealing with drugs.
In terms of timeline, it felt a bit off like it wasn't flowing as well as the other books. I mean, not that the siblings are better, I swear they fall in love in 0.001 seconds. But here, it was a bit weird. I really wish the authors would've explored their vulnerable sides more. I don't even think they ever had a proper conversation and suddenly Tony is putting him first over Benito? That's crazy work. You know him for like three weeks max.
"What you die for is up to you. Touch what's mine and know I won't hesitate to end you."
Oh this is just as good as I remember with just those added bits in there this time through. Caleb & Tony are what you would definitely define as opposites attract. Opposites but oh soo good!
These two together are explosive, hating each other fully and nothing is stopping it. Except there is always that fine line between hate and .. love? Their banter is what makes this book all that much more, Caleb cannot stand Tony especially when he is ordering him around. Until making him do something starts the fire that Caleb never seen coming.
"Someone needs to teach you to shut your fucking mouth."
We definitely cannot forget the spice in this book cause phew daddy is it so damn good! All the good stuff is here, when Tony goes for something he goes all the way, literally. Praise.. absofuckinglutely! Degradation.. is it not mafia without it? Special Kink.. I am here for it! Toxic.. possibly? depends who you ask Toys.. I'll never tell what is in here, find out for yourself ;)
Of course there is also the feelings that come out and I always have the same reaction and tear up when it comes to Tony's POV. My chest got all crampy and everything, it's always the same. Feeling the way Tony does is always hard to swallow cause we all want what he wants, acceptance & love.
"You're mine forever. I'd sooner kill us both then let you walk away again."
I loved this when it was Trouble but getting to go back to Tony & Caleb was almost like reading it for the first time all over again, with just those few things added in that weren't in Trouble.
Skyler & Brea are amazing at writing these men, makes them my favorites for that alone <3
This was good but not as good as the Vitale series. I liked Tony from the other series but he wasn’t my favorite but in his book he was good and I really liked that Caleb and Tony go together.
The moment I found out that Tony had his own book, I ran to read it for my dear life! I really wanted to meet his perspective and get to know Caleb, since he was briefly mentioned in... either 'Never Say Never' or 'End It All'. And trust me when I say I was rooting for these two just as much as I rooted for all Vitale couples!!!
Tony and Caleb are yet another chaotic, dangerous couple that make you fall in love with them the moment the first spark ignites between them. Hot and charming, sarcastic and passionate, they're so perfect for each other. Do I want to go for Angel's story next? Damn yes, I do!!! 💞
Absolutely recommend this book if you're already engulfed in the Vitale universe, but you finished all 5 books and don't know what to do with your life next! 😩😮💨
I don’t mind bad guys being bad guys as long as they aren’t bad guys to the love interest. Understood why in the context of Mafia rules but nah this one didn’t hit unfortunately
I read this when it first came out as Trouble and it was okay. I liked it a lot better the second time around and Tony’s possessiveness didn’t creep me out this time. It came off more endearingly insane? I still wish we got more from Caleb before the big reveal of feelings, but the little bit they added was nice in rounding out the story. I still ached for Tony when shit went down. I feel like I understand him better this second read and I do wish more discussion happened between Tony and Caleb before things were resolved, but that’s small stuff. I’m looking forward to getting to know the rest of the hitters and continuing with the series.
Finally, the unhinged mafia mc I've been waiting for.
Bad Habits was a WILD, ridiculous, and entertaining story filled with lots of obliviousness and passion.
Tony works for the Vitale brothers as a sort of bodyguard/second in command. He is super good at mafia stuff.
Caleb is the president of a group of deranged Robin Hood-esque bikers and thieves. They're committed to stealing from the rich/bad and distributing the cash to those in need.
On a job gone bad, Caleb gets wrapped up with Tony and the Vitale brothers. He is basically kidnapped and initiated into the mafia. Come to find out, after t*rture, the mafia dudes learn that Caleb is a cousin of theirs - so now he is "one of them."
In a forced proximity/kidnapping kind of way, Caleb and Tony start a pretty serious enemies/frenimies/captor to lovers type situation. It would probably also help to know that Tony is bad at feelings and emotions and that Caleb is an oblivious dummy. Their HEA takes a while, but it gets there - their own version of HEA, anyway.
While the sex scenes are absolute 🔥🔥🔥, Tony is an absolute maniac. He takes possessiveness to the maxxxxx and that is exactly what mafia mcs are supposed to do. It was epic.
This story is nothing but 🚩🚩🚩🚩, so you know I'm here for it. Obsession, toxicity, all of it. I'm here for it. Throw in the casual use of "daddy," and some pretty serious behind the scenes mafia stuff - this book is a certified banger.
There is also a book 2 , and the Vitale brothers have their own books as well, meaning you could really lose yourself in this universe if you were so inclined.
I already downloaded the next book LOL. Great story. I absolutely recommend!
It was okay. Nothing ground breaking or neath shattering.
I wish the daddy kink was a bit more 24/7. I’m torn on Tony turning into an absolute sap the last 25% of the book..
Other kinks - watersports - shibari ( or something similar. Tony ties Caleb up a bit and I believe it was more that just tying his wrists to the bed) - plenty of toys are used - Daddy kink w/out age play. And Tony doesn’t call Caleb boy. It’s really daddy kink in the barest sense I think. There’s not a much care taking or at least not as much emphasis on the care taking as I would expect from a daddy/boy relationship.
I guess it’s sort of dark-ish. It’s what I would call dark-lite. Tony does waterboard Caleb in the beginning…. But overall it didn’t feel like a particularly dark romance to me.
I really liked the first half, but the other half felt flat for me. I expected a bit more action, and honestly, Tony doing a 180 on his personality towards the end, felt out of character. I guess my hopes for this one were too high because it is set on the Vitale's world, and I'm really loving that series.
This book is full of walking red flags. Amazing. The entire thing shouldn't work as well as it does and there's likely something wrong with me for liking it as much as I did. The worlds of an upper level mafia enforcer and the "prez" of an MC collide and it ends up being hot as shit; after they work through their differences that is. They really can't fight their attraction to one another and at the beginning it ends up being a lot of hate fucking, or hooking up. Whatever. Besides being fantastic on the smut side of things, I really enjoyed the plot as well. It was just enough drama with believable twists and all loose ends were tied up by the end of the book. That combined with the spice definitely kept me engaged. While I wish there were more spicy scenes, the ones that the author did write were a smorgasbord of debauchery and kink. Then the whole "daddy" aspect is thrown in? Seriously amazing and freaking hot. 5/5, ate and left no crumbs. I'm not a fan of the watersports, but it's pretty minimal and the rest is freaking phenomenal so I overlooked it.
While it definitely isn't the traditional mafia that one might be used to seeing in other mafia books or movies, I did love it. The entire organization appears to be gay and they are possessive as shit. Which would definitely be an issue in real life, but this is a fictional book. All of these tough, macho as hell guys turn in to absolute mush for their partners and it's so fucking endearing. I really loved it with Tony though. He has these walls up, but when they finally come down for Caleb, he becomes insanely attached and clingy and doesn't want to leave him for a second. It's the best! So sweet how he lets him know how much he wants Caleb and his level of obsession. Like I said, walking red flags, but damn it if it isn't fucking sweet with the two of them!

(ENG) The Vitale Brothers' spin-off is absolutely delightful! We have the story of Tony, who becomes obsessed with Caleb, a cousin of theirs who dared to steal from them. Their relationship is pretty toxic, but it's a lot of fun to read about. The authors have a unique way of presenting the most dark situations in a comedic style. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and it runs through the pages.I must say that the level of kink is high and perhaps not to everyone's liking, but it is very well developed. It's a blast to read.
don't be like me and read trigger warnings, else you'll end up reading about metal rods shoved in penises and golden showers. i've never wanted to drink bleach more than when tony suddenly decided that pissing on caleb because «he wanted to mark him post-sex» was a great idea. literally my 13th reason why.
besides the numerous kinks i did not enjoy, the writing and pacing were truly terrible. the og series isn't a masterpiece by any means, but this spin-off is just shit
Still the same Caleb and his brattitude and Tony and his grumpiness but with a few new chapters . I was so happy that Angel is getting his book on March 7th as well .
Caleb and his MC Club shouldn’t have messed with the Vitales, but the score was too good to pass up. All Caleb saw were dollar signs but now he's in deep water and about to drown. When Benito Vitale spares his life he does whatever he's told to keep himself and his crew alive. He was also dumped into the lap of Tony Morelli. Tony nearly killed Caleb, but when he shows sides of himself he doesn’t show anyone else Caleb finds himself falling for his crap. Every stroke, every caress, every touch draws him closer to Tony who loves it when Caleb calls him Daddy.
I enjoyed this story with the two men who had a brutal passion between them but Caleb was able to get to the softer side of Tony as shown by his love of being called Daddy and his meltdown. I did find it a little repetitive and I think that was the way it was enhanced from a shorter story in an anthology. There were a lot of thoughts, emotions and feelings in this story as Caleb and Tony butt heads together and tried to have their way. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.
** Please note Bad Habits was formerly titled Trouble from the Ruthless Daddies collab. This is the same story with added scenes for more Tony, Caleb, and Hitters goodness.
I DNF'd at page 150. I feel like people are gonna immediately know why! Anyways, I'm not gonna yuck anyone's yum. I think I'm pretty openminded. But I had to tap out here. Some things are just not for me.
