Kill Night: A Twisted Vigilante Tale

Rate this book
A man out for vengeance will stop at nothing to clean up the city…but will he make it dirtier in the process?

Joe Martinez is fed up. A meager paycheck. A bitter ex-wife. Alimony payments that force him to live out of his truck. He rarely gets to see the only thing he loves in life, his son Aaron. And to top it off, an infestation of homelessness is making Los Angeles an unlivable city. But what can be done to excavate the excrement? For a man prone to anger issues, it’s much easier to rant and rave than to take action. That is, until an unspeakable tragedy awakens the beast within.

As Joe “death-wishes” his way through an urban hellscape, he inches closer to a showdown with the man responsible for all his pain. But to defeat him, he will have to defeat a movement. And Heaven help all who get in his way.

A gruesome tale of vigilante retribution set against the blight of contemporary Los Angeles, KILL NIGHT is sure to thrill fans of gritty action and graphic horror .

Joe Martinez feels as though life couldn’t get any worse. His ex-wife Annie, no longer wants him around, he hauls and dumps chemical waste for a pittance, and the streets are being taken over by the homeless, alcohol/drug addicts, and vagrants. Only when personal tragedy strikes, does he decide to seek vengeance, and while doing so, cleans up the streets.

This was a great story with action from the very first page to the explosive last. Believe me, you won’t get bored reading this book at all, and I, for sure, will be keeping a look out for more books by Maximilian Gray.

Thanks to the author, and BookSirens for providing me with this free ARC, with which I leave a voluntary review.

You'd think that a mash-up of Death Wish 3 and Street Trash would be a sure-fire hit, but that turns out not to be the case. This novel revolves around a man who embarks on a rampage against the homeless population of Los Angeles after a gang of homeless psychopaths rapes and murders his son. His rampage is aided by a biochemical solvent strong enough to melt through flesh and bone. This is nowhere near as fun as it sounds.

The story's main problem is that our "hero" crosses the line from being a vigilante to a straight-up mass murderer. Most of the homeless people he kills are not shown to be dangerous in any way, while his rampage involves significant collateral damage to civilians and cops unfortunate enough to cross his path. Even more glaringly, the character constantly rages against "bums," despite the fact that he lives in a truck because his wife divorced him and got a restraining order. This could potentially work in a deconstruction or parody of vigilante fiction, but the book appears to be intended in all seriousness.

Kill night was an action packed story, not for the light-hearted. The writing and execution of this novel was fantastic. The storyline was very confronting and shows the consequences of the love of a father, whose son gets taken from his life too soon. This was a novel that I could not stop reading, from the first chapter. I was horrified by what happened to an innocent child and enthralled by the reaction of his father. I was cheering for Joe to get his revenge.

If you are a fan of blood and gore, read this novel, you will not be disappointed.

Crazy storyline about vigilante justice.

Joe's son is murdered, and the police don't seem to care. So Joe takes matters into his own hands.

At the same time, homeless, the crazies and druggies decide to burn down the city.

A fiery climax with Joe succeeding but at a high cost to everyone.

The book is exciting and provides a glimpse of things to come. I enjoyed the book .

You've come to the right book. Homelessness. Filth. Drug abuse. Rape. Murder. Flesh eating waste. Knives. Then revenge. All so horrific. All so gorey. All so entertaining? !
