***
The humour itself is like two levels better but that's because, repeating myself, the characters are better fleshed out and also the author is a bit more inventive this time.

Move over Outsiders

Not since reading The Outsiders, (one of my all time favorites), have I read such a deeply moving story about the bonds of family. This book will tug at all your heartstrings and definitely make you cry. I Recommend for mature readers due to deep subject matters that may upset younger readers.

My heart…it hurts! The guys are trying to do the right thing and yet the world decides that people can’t change so they aren’t good enough? Forget that! I love Indio’s (I’m torn between who I like more him or Jesse) part in this story. I’m not trying to give anything away but seriously read it! I love Wynter’s determination even if it scared me. I am terrified yet excited to read the next book because dang that ending… READ IT!!

4.5 stars. I think Sara C. has created a new subgenre: new adult family saga.

The second part of the story. It, too, drew me in and I ended up staying well into the morning finishing it.

Growth

Growth happened when she was finally able to be some what free. Growth with her brothers and learning about the outside world. She grew socially with Clockwork Toys. She chose to stand up and fight the only way she knew how. Her childhood prepared her for the fight to get back to her family. Shit, this story is so depressing. I have to see it through to find her happily realistic after..

This is a great sibling book because of Wynter's bond with her brothers. Wynter, Caleb, Indio, and Jesse are likable characters and you will care about them. My favorite character is Caleb because he's head of the family and a fixer when it comes to problems. Wynter is still living with her foster mother Rosa, who has rules that are silly. I sympathized with Wynter, given that she's had a bad childhood and has to live with Rosa when she wants to live with her brothers. I recommend this book if you like family secrets and rock bands.

Happiness and Heartbreak

Oh my gosh, the last few chapters broke my heart. There's so much I want to say to Caleb, Indio and Jesse. I want to mother then and advise them. The sign of a great writer when the characters are real for you. Heading straight into book 3.

Read other books from this author in the future: yes

I really like this series, but I will only review the first and last book of the series. This book was as good as the first one. And so far the third book is also really good.

Deeply Moving

Sara Creasy continues the deeply moving story of Winter Wild. A young teenager who escaped from a cult and is learning to live in a world which is foreign to her.

The characters are well defined and the storyline well thought out. It will make you cheer, curse, and cry. It is a beautiful story which intrigues the mind and reminds us of the importance of family.

Beautifully written and highly recommend reading the series.

This book is something else.
Sad and depressing. Yes.
Uplifting and family affirming. Yes.
Full of action you can’t wait to turn the page? Yes.
What a tragic group of abandoned children.
Some now grown or mostly grown.
Wynter is a brave girl. Stubborn and firm in her beliefs.
How tragic when we get more backstory on Indio.
I am totally engaged in this storyline and this family.

committed

I am disappointed that these books are so short and feel manipulated to be buying the next version. That said, I am SO in love with this family and their commitment to each other and the care of a little sister that was literally dropped into their lives. I want them to succeed and to find a larger family in the long run. Onward to book #3!

Oh my. A continuation of Wynter Wild.
Fantastic. My emotions were all over the place. High when things were going as Wynter hoped and my heart breaking when things were going downhill fast.
Finishing when you hoped they would go in the right direction.
Now have to read the next in the series.

I read all the books without reviewing first so I have no idea what happened in which books. Having said that, I feel like I owe the author reviews on them all.

An emotional, beautiful sequel that completely exceeded my expectations!

I didn't think Sara Creasy could make me fall in love with these characters any more than I already had after Little Sister Song, but Out of Tune proved me wrong. From the very first page, I was completely immersed, and by the end, I was an emotional wreck in the very best way.

What I love most about this series is how real the characters feel. They're messy, flawed, loving, protective, and wonderfully human. Every triumph feels earned, every setback hurts, and every moment of happiness feels like you're celebrating alongside them. Sara Creasy has a remarkable ability to write characters who stay with you long after you've finished reading.

This book beautifully explores healing, forgiveness, and the challenges of moving forward while carrying the weight of the past. The relationships continue to grow in believable and meaningful ways, and the family bond at the heart of the story is what makes this series so special. I laughed out loud, cried more than once, and found myself completely unable to put the book down.

Sara Creasy's writing is warm, emotional, and incredibly engaging. She knows exactly how to balance heartbreak with hope, making every chapter impossible to stop reading. I constantly told myself, "Just one more chapter," only to realise hours had passed.

Out of Tune is a powerful reminder that healing isn't a straight path, that love comes in many forms, and that the people who stand beside you through your darkest moments become your true family.

This series has completely captured my heart, and Out of Tune is another outstanding instalment. If you love emotional, character-driven stories with unforgettable relationships, found family, and characters you'll never want to say goodbye to, don't miss this book. Sara Creasy has become an automatic one-click author for me, and I can't wait to see where this journey goes next. Five stars without hesitation!

Very powerful book

So can this author write such a powerful story that I believe could possibly be a true story or at least parts of the story. I can picture this story really happening. A great job of writing.
