I have written for as long as I could write. In fact, before, when I would dictate to my auntie. I love to read, and I love to create worlds and characters.

I live in the English countryside. When I’m not writing, I like to get out there and think through the next scenario I’m going to throw my characters into.

Inspiration can be found anywhere, on a train, in a restaurant or in an office. I am always in search of the next character to find love in one of my stories. In a world of apps and online dating, it is important to remember love can be found when you least expect it.

Very good start to a new series with lots of interesting and amusing characters in an intriguing location. I particularly liked Danny, with his really understandable insecurities. The chemistry between the MCs was palpable. The third act drama was a bit too obvious as to what was going to happen for me. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

IRONICALLY ANYTHING BUT THRILLING

I welcomed this with open arms when I claimed an ARC at Booksprout: it’s by a British author, it’s in British English, it promises sex toys! and two men getting frisky with it. How could this possibly not be good? Well… it’s probably my fault for jumping to conclusions (going by the sex-toy theme and the “explicit” tag) that this book is geared towards adults or new adults, because it quickly became apparent that the target audience is much younger – that being just one of the reasons this didn’t work for me.

Since this is a long review, I’ll just sum it up in one paragraph for those who want to get the gist of it and don't want to read beyond this:

For me, the biggest issue about this was the writing style and execution, which was very rigid and impersonal, inevitably resulting in one-dimensional characters, and paired with the nondescript plot (which regrettably, was nowhere near as exciting as the blurb made it out to be) that wasn’t helped at all by the bland (heavily tell-and-not-show) storytelling, just felt emotionally constipated overall. I’d say, if this were a movie, it would be one with no background music at all, no swoony mood-setting cinematography, where almost everything just plays out in a borderline clinical and impassive manner—like it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a love story or a documentary about a love story, but ultimately ending up more of the latter that it felt akin to something AI-generated. (Sorry, that’s not meant as an insult; it’s just my honest instant impression.) Technique-wise, I can’t really complain. I mean, to me British English in books is always good, perhaps because it’s what I’m used to – it’s easier on my editor-self sensibilities, plus I am very much an anglophile at heart but, tragically, not even my biased love for all things English, Briticisms, or my unapologetic kink-thusiasm for non-vanilla bedroom play were able to get me invested in this story.

For one, despite being centred around a sex toy company, people who work there, and of course, sex toys– there is nothing even remotely adventurous, daring, or kinky about this story. It’s plain as a sandwich with no filling, the bread slices not even buttered. I reckon this must break some record for being the MOST VANILLA “romance” about SEX TOYS I have ever read (and I have read hundreds!)—heck, I did not even think it was possible to write kinky sex in a vanilla manner until this, which is quite hardcore vanilla, haha. In line with that, I don’t understand why this is labelled “explicit” either, because the sex is unimaginative, and uninspiring—and again, it didn’t help that things were described in the driest, most detached way possible—it’s also practically non-graphic that it might as well have been closed-door (I’ve read a tonne of closed-door sex that were actually more gripping than this). It’s so dull and drab, in fact, that if I didn’t know better, I’d think a young-adult person with no actual sexual experience whatsoever outside hardcore vanilla had written it, because a love story with such frosty steam levels that it actually gave me frostbite is deemed “explicit”?

To illustrate: Their first “tumble” consists of: one blowjob and a masturbator toy. Does that sound fuck-tastic? Hell no, and I repeat: a masturbator toy. Used in the cleanest, most textbook manner possible, like Danny was a certified model for the safe—and totally hardcore vanilla—usage instruction video (Is Danny delusional? Isn’t the irony of proclaiming himself a sex coach lost to him, when they hardly even had sex—he hardly did anything—at all?? Nothing that Tyler could not have done himself, that is); it kind of says a lot that I pictured a robot might have made a more exciting sexual partner than Danny. What’s more pathetic is that afterwards, thirty-something-year-old Tyler raved about this mutual masturbating session like it was the most mind-blowing sex he’s ever had, when it was actually one of the saddest, most miserable sex scenes I’ve ever read. (I mean if I hooked up with someone who claims to be a “sex god” only for them to use a boring sex toy on me, hardly even touching me with his own body all night, I sure as hell would be anything but flattered.)(Unless I actually signed up for a sex-toy-tester kinky fantasy RP or something??)

Plus: It’s a friggin’ masturbator: it’s meant for solo play! Yet, strangely, everyone in this book acts like sex toys are only for couples, and that using it any other way, say like, heaven forbid! using it on yourself ALONE! – is an unforgivable crime. SOMETHING ONLY A DEPRAVED DEVIANT WOULD DO. Which of course, boggles the living fuck out of me (I certainly hope this is not how all British people think sex toys should be used because that’s a whole new level of depressing). I was so shocked after reading their first “sex” scene and the hype they built around it because it very much echoed scenarios that only prepubescent boys on the cusp of discovering sex and mutual masturbation for the first time would genuinely find “amazing”—certainly not two full-grown adult men who supposedly have played the field (ergo, must surely have more… eventful sexual experiences??). I tried so hard to justify what I had read in my efforts to get into this story, but I couldn’t; unless I imagined this book was set in a different planet or dimension where (stunningly) handsome adult men working in sex toy companies are inexperienced prudish pillow princesses who can only get off via self-help sex toys operated by another? Furthermore, why oh bloody why, of all the more exciting sex toys ever known to perverted mankind out there would they choose to use the most BORING ones?? THEY WORK IN A FREAKING HIGH-END SEX TOY COMPANY! It made me want to cry. Seriously. Is it this book’s objective to make sex toys out to be so boring?? Because if that’s what this was going for, then I’ll concede that it succeeded. (I am just so glad this book was not my introduction to sex toys and that I know better, or I’d be turned off from them for life, which horrifies me to even just think it.)

Okay, I gave in to a rant there because the sex scenes and the unromanticness of it all were really a huge disappointment. But even if, let’s say, the sex wasn’t the highlight of this book (even if it’s tagged “explicit”??), the rest leaves much to be desired as well. The plot is shallow, there is no real conflict. The pace is meandering and lacklustre and does nothing to make the flow more engaging; the narrative spills off in numerous tangents, obsessively zeroing in on side characters like they were more important than staying on track and focusing on much-needed development of the almost non-existent romance between the two main leads. The whole story hinges on the MCs being wishy-washy and malcontent (despite being incredibly well-to-do than most people post-pandemic) making them seem like petty ingrates – again, reminiscent of prepubescent behaviour (which is fine, if this book was indeed intended for young adults, I guess; teenagers would be able to relate more; I couldn’t find it believable because I am way past teenagehood though).

Other than that:
• Several times, the writer breaks out of the character’s respective POV: we get insertions of Tyler’s personal POV even in supposedly Danny chapters, and vice-versa.
• The dialogue (especially between the MCs) are super cringey, more often than not (e.g.: “I can’t even manage words.” “Indeed.” – they sound weirdly perfunctory, like they’re having an obligatory cuppa somewhere else rather than inundated with post-coital bliss).
• The MCs have no chemistry at all, emotionally or physically or even mentally (though I think this boils down to the emotionless writing, which is a shame because there was a lot of potential there for a great romance).
• Tyler is described as “weedy”, yet the guy on the cover is beefy, so who is he supposed to be? (Because it isn’t Danny who wears glasses.)

I can’t say I liked this, but I really wanted to. Its biggest flaw in my opinion is that it was presented in a very boring manner. Still, perhaps I’m just not the target audience for this, and I am always rooting for more British-authored MM romances/erotica (and because the editor in me feels happy whenever an author knows to use “set foot” instead of the eggcorn “step foot”), I’ll go with: It’s OK (equivalent to 2 stars according to Goodreads’ rating system), instead of a flat-out: I didn't like it (1 star).

3.5⭐️ 2🌶️

This was so cute. Tyler is coming into a job at Pleasure Seekers as a new upstairs level manager. There he meets Danny, an operator in the warehouse. Danny is the bees knees (in a rated R way) and offers to corrupt Tyler a bit. 😩

The premise of them getting together (the teaching Tyler bit) felt unimportant and not really flushed out but the rest of their relationship was so organic and sweet. The chemistry was there and the cute little crush vibes were amazing.

They both crave something bigger than what they have for different reasons. Tyler just wants to be accepted for who he is and Danny wants to explore who he wants to be. Together they complete each other 🥹

I just thought this was one of those books that yes, has a bit of conflict, but the majority of the book is just happiness. It’s not overly deep. It’s not all that complex. It’s just two men finding love.

Was everything flushed out and perfect? No, of course not. There were some things that didn’t quite make sense or things that were mostly unnecessary but overall I thought it was sweet and wonderful.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but this is my honest and voluntary review! 🖤

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Tyler starts his new job, in a new town, and promptly finds himself testing lube, of all things, with the most gorgeous man he ever met (in the office, with others!) Danny works in the warehouse at Pleasure Seekers. They embark on a friends with benefits type thing that quickly moves into something. Both men carry some baggage, can they overcome that??

A quick glance tells me I've not read Kristian Parker's work before, and my TBR pile just got a whole lot bigger! Why have I not?? I don't know, I think he just hadn't hit my radar. But I met him, recently at a book signing and now I get to jump into his worlds.

I loved this, I really did.

Tyler and Danny are so suited to each other, they really are.

I loved the polar opposite in each man's family dynamics. While Danny's family are very supportive, and hilarious, Tyler's is not. And this marked difference is part of Tyler's baggage. Danny's is totally different, but you should know there is talk of attempted suicide by one of Danny's family members. Very emotional, reading that, and I cried a bit for Danny and that character.

It's well written from both Tyler and Danny's point of view, and we get it all. Tyler's immediate and powerful reaction to Danny. Danny's attraction to Tyler but his hesitation to start anything. Their joy at coming together, and their pain, when Danny finds out what Tyler said.

And it's THAT bit, that I loved so much about this book. While Danny was very hurt by Tyler's words, his reaction wasn't what you would expect. He stepped BACK from Tyler, but not totally AWAY. And I loved how that happened because I was expecting a massive break-up/make-up thing and while we get the make up bit, the break up doesn't really happen. Am I making sense? Probably not, but I'm trying not to spoil it for anyone!

I loved the supporting cast, Tyler's family notwithstanding. Eddie and Scott, who share with Tyler and also work at Pleasure Seekers, are funny but I think there is a lot they are both hiding, and I look forward to their stories. Eddis is next, so I assume book three will be Scott.

Oh, by the way. Even though all these guys work in a sex toy shop, there is very little about toys. And I loved that too. Danny does play a bit with Tyler though ;-)

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
I am such a fan of Kristian Parker's novels that I didn't even need to read the blurb to know I wanted to dive into this first book in a new series. There is such a wonderful feeling of family, place, and details of everyday life which work so well in all this author's works. Thankfully all my expectations were met and more!

Tyler is starting a new job in a new town and has found himself in the worst flatshare ever – already making us both laugh and cringe! Thankfully that nightmare is short-lived, but still does a fabulous job of giving us insight into him and his feelings of discombobulation as he starts afresh.

He makes a very valid point that procurement is the same wherever you work, but it is great fun listening in to the antics that the workers at Pleasure Seekers get up to – especially with new arrivers. One good thing is that he doesn't feel any need to hide his sexuality. Meeting Danny from the warehouse at a lube scent testing is an interesting start to his first day, and the feelings that assail him are both exciting and dangerous. Luckily, Danny is feeling exactly the same way.

As we get to know these two guys better, and from their families understand more why they are as they are, it is impossible not to want the very best for them – and that is a feature of this talented author, a real skill in giving us little details which bring the pages to life. And it is true of side characters too, such as Bruce, Amanda, and many others.

I will let you enjoy the body of the story without saying more, but believe me when I say that this promises to be another fun and fabulous series!

So excited, wonderful first book in the series
Tyler is excited to start his new job. Pleasure seekers is a sex toy retail company that is in Brighton. He is from Llandudno but happy to move away from the family. Because they don’t accept him for being gay well his mother doesn’t except him. On his first day, he finds that he needs to go to each section of the company. But what he didn’t expect was to be in a group to decide what scent of the new lube he thought would be a best seller. He was find being in a testing group but what Tyler it wasn’t expected was
the sexiest guy he’s ever seen sit beside him. His name is Danny and he works in the warehouse.
Danny was feeling like a failure. He was nearly 30 and still lived at home with his mum dad and siblings. He had nothing to show for his life. And it was getting to him. He wanted to move from his company that have been really good to him, but it wasn’t the job he wanted to be doing. When he has to go to the group discussion to give his view on lube. He got a nice shock with the sexy man in the suit. It was obvious that it was his first day as no one dressed up for work. And they hit it off straight away, the banter, the sexual innuendo it excites him.
When Danny gave Tyler phone number, he expected to get a message, but that night he went to the pub, and who would he see Tyler, Eddie and Scott from work having a drink. Apparently they were celebrating the fact that Tyler had moved in with them. And that was their first night together, and it was so obvious that they had a connection. The chemistry was insane and the passion Wow it was hot hot hot especially as Danny had a few tricks up his sleeve in the way of merchandise from work. I’ve got to say I am super excited for this series. It really excited me. And I’ve read books about meeting people at work before, but the fact that this is a sex toy retail company just adds that extra zing. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

"Thrill," the inaugural installment in Kristian Parker's Pleasure Seekers series, proves to be an engaging read. Set within the intriguing backdrop of Pleasure Seekers, a company specializing in adult novelties, the novel delves into the lives of its employees, with a spotlight on Tyler Jones and Danny Healy.

Tyler, the diligent procurement manager, finds an unexpected ally in Danny, the warehouse manager, as he navigates his new role. Despite the premise suggesting a focus on eroticism given the nature of their workplace, Parker surprises readers with a story that transcends mere titillation. Instead, the narrative unfolds as a compelling exploration of modern relationships, portraying Tyler and Danny as nuanced individuals grappling with contemporary challenges.

Tyler, in his mid-30s, faces the daunting task of seeking love amidst the complexities of adult life. Meanwhile, Danny, in his late 20s, struggles with a sense of unfulfillment exacerbated by the aftermath of a tumultuous relationship that ended due to his bisexuality. Coping with unresolved trauma, Danny adopts an avoidant approach, prioritizing fleeting encounters over emotional intimacy.

The contrast between Danny and Tyler's family dynamics adds depth to their respective journeys. While Danny enjoys a supportive yet suffocating relationship with his family, Tyler grapples with the pressures of meeting his controlling mother's expectations. Their shared experiences underscore the importance of communication in navigating familial complexities and forging a path toward personal fulfillment.

Overall, "Thrill" offers a refreshing take on the romance genre, blending authentic characterization with relatable themes of love, identity, and self-discovery. Parker's adept storytelling and deft handling of sensitive topics ensure that readers are not only entertained but also left pondering the intricacies of human connection long after the final page.

Sweet story that made me smile

Despite the main characters working at a sex toy company, this story has very little to do with sex toys, even in their bedroom, so don't be disappointed if you aren't left hot and bothered.
Tyler and Danny were instantly attracted and their romance was a sweet and easy one, for the most part, with Danny's family supportive of him and loving his new boyfriend while Tyler's.... weren't.
There was enough of Tyler's and Danny's backgrounds given for us to appreciate where they both were in life and understand their outlook. They had different histories and seemed to be in different places in their lives but none of that mattered in the end. They communicated, even after a big misstep, and supported each other, true partners.
I have to give an honourable mention to Kristian for creating Amanda. I love how he wrote her and, although she was only a side character, told us about her history and her geeky obsession, and seeing Tyler bring her out of her shell was lovely. I really liked the little interactions between them.
Tyler's new roommates were great fun, especially Scott, who never missed an opportunity to make a wildly inappropriate remark. Eddie's story is next and I'm looking forward to that.
I'm lucky enough to live by the seaside so I'm spoilt, but Kristian made me want to go to Brighton again. I haven't been for years and I love a good pier (or a bad one!) and a tour of the Royal Pavilion followed by afternoon tea is always a pleasure.

Tyler and Danny’s Story . . .

Tyler Jones is starting his new job as head of procurement at Pleasure Seekers, a company that sells sex toys. He has two roommates, Honey who is a singer, and Alistair who sounds like a drug addict pill taker ready to star in “The Walking Dead”. When Tyler got to his new workplace, he met Christine and she gave him an overview. He would be spending a day with each team for his first week at work. It was Danny Healy’s turn to have him for the day. He was to show him the products, and let him spend a few hours getting orders ready.

Helen, Simone, Amanda and Molly were Tyler’s new team. He met them, then Christine walked in to send him to a conference room to participate in choosing a new scent. Everyone partnered up except Tyler; but then a handsome man walked in and smiled at him and Danny became his partner. The two of them actually enjoyed the scent-testing and had fun with it.

Since Danny works in the warehouse and everything they sell comes through his area, he offers to introduce Tyler to how they work. Will they becomes closer as they explore the items together? Will the two of them want to start a relationship? Or will they find some bumps along the way that make them hesitate? You will be meeting a number of characters in this story line and it promises to become a popular series with such a delightful cast of varied characters.

I enjoyed the Queens Crescent books by Kristian Parker and came to love that posh London enclave and its charming residents. His new series “Pleasure Seekers” relocates to Brighton and has a premise with a lot of saucy potential.
Tyler’s started a new job as a manager with a sex toy/personal products company. Part of the onboarding is spending time with every department. That’s how he meet warehouse worker Danny.
This is a much sweeter story than you’d expect given the setting. Even when Danny offers his services as a personal sex coach to help Tyler try out the merchandise he’s promoting (he previously worked for a book chain) it’s never raunchy.
Tyler’s management friends/roommates are a snarky, gossipy bunch and Danny’s warehouse friends are just a bit bro-ish. Both friend groups are a hoot.
Their class difference comes into play when Tyler takes Danny home for his sister’s wedding. His sister and mother are awful. It’s satisfying seeing Tyler stand up for himself.
There’s a misunderstanding, an estrangement, and a lovely reconciliation.
Danny is just wonderful. He’s floundering in his job, but when he figures out what he truly wants to do you’re so happy for him.
A low-angst, lovely read.

This story had a really fun playful vibe to it. And though it did contain some difficult topics and struggles, ultimately these two were flirty and sexy and brought a smile to your face. The friends/roommates were equally entertaining and offer some fun stories to come.

And really what do you expect out of a story that is based on two employees of an Adult Toy company? What starts as casual exploration and product testing quickly becomes something more.

Danny struggles with figuring out his future and what he wants out of life, so Tyler offers a great distraction, although as feelings grow, it adds to the mix of confusion over his wants and desires.

Tyler is the new man on campus, and he is kind and accepting of those around him, so it’s no wonder he draws people in. Except his mother, whom he can’t seem to please.

They’re a highly enjoyable couple, who while learning a lesson in communication, ultimately learn to forge their own paths and dreams knowing they’ll have the other by their side. Which is pretty damn perfect.

First in series (Pleasure Seekers). Coworkers. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

Moving to a new town and starting a new job as a procurement manager, Tyler has to make sure he’s ready for his position at a booming sex toy company. Already working at the Pleasure Seekers warehouse for years, Danny is instantly attracted to the new management employee, and since the feeling is mutual they agree that a hook up experimenting with the company’s products is in order.

I really enjoyed this story, both Danny and Tyler have backgrounds that explain their motivations, and the supportive secondary cast made of coworkers and family gave the book more depth. Danny was relatable, wanting something more from his life, and so was Tyler trying to be supportive but not always saying the right thing. Both characters were likable, and I appreciated that they came out and said they wanted something more and to try for a relationship, that kind of honest communication is swoony.

Super steamy with a sweet romance, this book was a great start to a new series. 4.5 rounded up

Thrill - Seeking Pleasure

“Hello,” he said. “Staff meeting?” “No, we’re celebrating,” Scott replied. “Tyler has moved in. Got his own bedroom now.” Scott yelped. “Ignore him,” Tyler said. “Come and sit down.” “No, honestly. I nipped in for one on the way home. I don’t want to disturb you.” “You’re disturbing one of us already,” Scott said. “Scott,” Eddie cut in. “Give it a rest. Sit down, Danny. Please.” Tyler shifted up. Danny noticed he didn’t go all the way. Only giving Danny a little room, so they had to squeeze together. The oldest trick in the book.‘

What a fun and delicious beginning to what would appear to be a fabulous new series by Kristian Parker.

Tyler has begun an administrator job in the company Pleasure Seekers and to his delight he manages to meet handsome Danny in the warehouse his first week in.

Working for an intimate toy dealers gathers quite an interesting set of supporting characters, that help these two move forward in their relationship. Some hiccups occur, but the Thrill never ends at Pleasure Seekers.

Finding happiness in in the workplace in Brighton

A good book about two men finding their way to happiness. Both men meet when working for a company called Pleased Seekers in Brighton. Tyler is in his mid thirties and has just moved to his new job in Brighton. He meets Danny, who is in his late twenties and works in the warehouse. The attraction is immediate and there is definitely chemistry from the beginning. It’s a cute, fun romance that is a bit slow burn as they try to navigate their just hookup to more of a true relationship. There are ups and downs as Danny is in a rut and feels like he should have more to show for himself but he has the support of Tyler and his family to help him through this. There were lots of laughs, great roommates and fun to be had with the samples from work. It’s is a great start to the series and I look forward to the next one.

I enjoyed reading this a lot.

This was a super-hot, but very sweet, low angst, insta-lust story. The series being based around a sex toys distributor made for some very interesting interactions between the primary and secondary characters.

The attraction between office worker/procurement manager Tyler and warehouse worker Danny was very much insta-lust but it gradually blossomed into much more. The chemistry between the two of them radiated off the pages. There were some amusing shenanigans happening on a blow-up mattress because Tyler hadn't yet gotten a real bed. 😊

Trill was a great start to a new series and I enjoyed getting to know Tyler and his roommates. I've already started reading the next book, Kicks.

I won a copy of Thrill from the author in a contest but no review was requested or required; this is my honest opinion.

Tyler starts a new job at a sex toy company where he meets Danny. They hit it off very quickly and quickly start making use of some of those toys.

A bit of drama with Tyler’s family was entertaining. They were “right twa*s”. Danny’s family on the the other hand were sweet, and delightful. The people from Pleasure Seekers were also enjoyable. Especially Tyler’s roommates.

Not much backstory but then I don’t think there needed to be much. The book was easy to read and these were uncomplicated characters. Danny seemed to be the most complex person, needing the most validation and support.

This was pretty much an instalove book. I liked Tyler and Danny. They were very nice together.
Just an overall sweet, enjoyable story.

This was an entertaining tale of Danny and Tyler, both working at Pleasure Seekers, a sex toy company. When the two meet, there is an instant attraction. Tyler is new to the company, Danny works in the warehouse, sees all the products they sell, and offers to demo for Tyler. The more they “ test the product”, the closer they become and decide to take a chance on deepening their relationship. The road is not smooth and bumps appear, necessitating some self reflections and self realizations on the part of both if a lasting connection is to be.
Great relatable characters, hot steamy scenes, interesting side characters, and families supportive and not, make for an interesting read.

This is the great start to a new series.
Tyler is starting a new job as head of procurement in a company that sells adult toys. He is given a tour of the company and there he runs into Danny.
Danny is a forklift operator who feels stuck in his no future job. He feels his life is stagnant. Then he gives Tyler a tour of the warehouse.
Both guys feel this instant attraction but neither are looking for a relationship.
I laughed at Tyler’s apartment issues. Even now Scott makes me smile.
I love Danny’s dad. He is so supportive of his son.
I feel this is an easy read, a comforting story. I’m glad it is the start of the series and can’t wait for Scott’s story.

A fun story with an amusing source of occupations for our heroes. Of course these jobs exist in true reality it’s just here it makes a very fun storyline. Tyler and Danny make for a sweet romance even with the small amount of drama they have going. Their love story was one that kept you reading, though there was some opposition because of their backgrounds, it played well into their journey. Interesting friends also joined their antics to the m/c’s adding more strength. A strong HeA brings it to a close.

Tyler goes to work at a sex toy company in Brighton and meets Danny, a hottie already working there and task with showing him around. Tyler finds Danny attractive, the feeling is mutual and a romance ensues. This is the first story in this story and I thought the thrill was how this relationship helps Tyler grow and come into his own. His family is awful and being with Danny helps him realize that he is worth being treated better. And Danny, who is already a good character, finds his footing in the context of their growing relationship as well. I am looking forward to more from this series.

A fabulous start to this new series by Kristian Parker set among the employees of a company making sex toys.

Tyler and Danny are both engaging characters, with their own issues and backstories, and the attraction between them is palpable.

This is a terrific combination of sexy fun (I mean, that's what the products are for!) and deeper more challenging emotions that make Tyler and Danny's HEA all the more believable.

I loved the way Kristian set up the factory and introduced us to the staff who will no doubt reappear in later stories. A thoroughly entertaining and emotionally satisfying read.

I downloaded this mostly because it's British and set in Brighton, which I've visited a few times. Plus the whole concept of a workplace romance at a sex toy supplier sounded cute.

Once I started reading I was delighted by how authentically British it was. I'm not quite sure when the wheels fell off for me. As much as I liked the premise, it just didn't go anywhere. The characters didn't develop much and I didn't get much of a romance. Sure they started boinking and dating, but I didn't feel any emotion, even for the bits that should have been upsetting. I guess this author just isn't for me. It's a simple story and I'm sure some people will love it.

This was my first Kristian Parker book - but won't be my last!

Wonderfully written colloquial dialogue gave texture and character to two men in their late twenties/early thirties who are looking for their purpose in life. One has a doting, accepting, and loving family, the other deals with homophobia while still trying to garner approval and acceptance from a spiteful parent.

The two not only find solace and comfort but lift up and support each other as they find paths forward with love, careers, and family.

Steamy at times, a little kinky (they do meet each other while working at a sex toy company), but overall sweet and heartwarming. A quick easy read.
Thumbs up!

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in Kristian's Pleasure Seekers series. Being a UK resident I loved the fact that it was set here and loved the characters both main and secondary. Tyler gets a job at a sex shop and Danny has worked in the warehouse for years. There is an instant attraction and have a great time trying out all the toys! They both soon realise they want more and a steamy, sweet romance ensues.

“You’d better kiss me and seal the deal then.”

I enjoyed this book. I like both Danny and Tyler. The attraction was mutual and I liked the way their relationship developed. They both come from very different family lives, and that effects them each in different ways. I loved the inclusion of the sex toy company, after all, choices are endless, but thought that could have been used better and in more ways to really ramp up their passion. There was chemistry, but I just didn't feel the heat. I also liked some of the supporting characters. 4 stars.

Fun, low angst. Tyler seems to be taking his new job in stride. After all, he's done his research into the company's products, he should be! His family won't be pleased, but he's not trying to go for their approval anymore anyway.
Danny's been with Pleasure Seekers for years. He's not really happy with the way his life is, but he's seen what happens when you take chances. No, thank you.
Until the lube testing.
It's a good story about good, ordinary people, with a not-so-ordinary romance. Very enjoyable!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Tyler starts a new fun job and meets Danny. I liked the fun Danny brings to their relationship. It is good that Tyler accepts that his family won't accept him as he is except perhaps his father. It was encouraging when Danny overcomes his past fears and reaches for what he enjoys doing. I'm glad Danny and Tyler worked past their brief problem to be together as they are very good together.

Exploring and expanding one’s zone is invigorating! Tyler, is transitioning to a new phase of his life. He’s in his mid 30s and starts a new job at Pleasure Seekers, a sex toy retail online store. He meets Danny, whose been at the company for years and offers to help him sample the goods. Tyler prefers being in relationships over senseless hook ups. Is Danny a casual flirt, or does he want more? Great story, nice flow. Nicely done. I received and ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
