Udder Madness!

"Get married and I kill you." This was the letter sent to Kimihito, an ordinary guy living with a houseful of extraordinary beauties, by a mysterious writer known only as "D." Now it's up to Interspecies Coordinator Smith, Kimihito, and his ever-increasing menagerie of monster girls to find out who is behind the threatening letter before it's too late. The game plan? Use Kimihito as bait by sending him on a series of dates with monster girls. Along the way, several possible suspects emerge, each of whom has a "D" connection of one kind or another. Meanwhile, Kimihito's potential brides each begin acting strangely. Are they taking the fake dates too seriously—or is something (or someone) fare more sinister at work?

This is probably the raunchiest volume in the series to date, and to be honest, I can't say that that endeared it to me overmuch. On the other hand, Okayado introduces three new monster types, which is always interesting, and has succeeded in making Cerea more than the anachronistic swordswoman she began as. Sadly he has gone back to using screentone on breasts, which makes them appear coated in something, which is a major downside if you are reading this for the fanservice.

I found this one to be the cutest and one of the most entertaining so far. I loved the mix of characters.

Charaktere 5+/5
(individuell, interessante Fabelwesen, super sympathischer Hauptcharakter)
Zeichenstil 5+/5
(mit das beste was ich kenne)
Gesamt 5,0/5

More progression through the plot, and even more fan service. Volume 5 of Monster Musume was fun and cute, but the story is nothing close to greatness. I am still enjoying this manga series, but it's definitely not for everyone.

Finally, in volume 5, there is a semblance of a story about a threatening letter. But, it's just used to cause Kimihito to date the "girls." And, also as an excuse for more boob shots -- boobs the size of basketballs. David -- read before you buy!

One of the most original and exciting manga of the 2010's, Monster Musume is a refreshing and enjoyable take on the monster girl genre of Japan. A warning, this series is definitely for people over the age of 18, as there is a lot of nudity and sexual situations that parents may find unsettling in the story. In the not to distant future, a race called liminals, creatures who are half human and half animal, has made contact with the human race and initiate a cultural exchange, to allow liminals to experience and integrate into human society. One such liminal, Mia, a lamia, is accidentally placed with a hapless human student named Kimihito, and decides to remain with him as both a student and a love interest. During the course of the series, we meet, among other things, a harpy, a centaur, a mermaid, and many more monster girls who fall for Kimihito and wish to win him anyway possible. I would encourage this for all adult fans who enjoy comedy manga, harem manga and slice of life stories.

So they're still going on dates and preparing to capture this mysterious D. Kimihito goes on dates not only with the monster girls in his house, but a few from the squad assigned to protect him. Some drama, hints of a real growing romance, and a cliffhanger ending with a scythe.
