My life hasn’t been perfect. I’ve made more than my fair share of mistakes and lost my family. But sometimes blood isn’t thicker than water, and the people you meet through happenstance become the very thing you need. I love my life now, but if I found a little to make my own, I’d have the whole world in my hand.
June
I never felt trapped by my parent’s many rules and expectations. In fact, when I started college and found one hundred percent freedom, I felt lost. I’m two seconds away from returning home with my tail between my legs when I meet Slade. Or what I prefer to call him… Daddy Slay.
Daddy Slay really is the perfect Daddy for his good girl June but I'd be more than happy to call this delicious man Daddy if only he asked... and I didn't think June would claw my eyes out.
Slade (Slay) really had a rough start at life but once he found his footing and started make the right decisions for him, he became a whole new man. In finding himself though he also discovered a very big part of him that was missing. And that was someone to care for, someone he could cherish and love. Slay wanted a little girl of his very own but until June he never thought that possible...
June was always meant to be the best. For such a young girl she had a lot of responsibility put on her shoulders and it wasn't until she met Slay that she realized she could not only have everything, but she could have someone who would love her for exactly who she is. She could still live up to her parents' expectations and still be taken care of. Still be a good girl for her Daddy.
Teddy bear picnic anyone? Yes, you read that correctly and after reading that part it was something I never knew I needed until it was thrust open me. *snort* Oh, and did I mention piercings? Those that are hidden until it is play time. Yeah, you also have that to look forward to.
The true heart of this story is that both Slade and June find the place that they belong and that is with one another. Just because your happily ever after looks a little different than others doesn't mean that you don't deserve it.
This book does involve a DDLG relationship so be sure to check those triggers.
*ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review. *
So, I tried this book out because I love D.L. Howe’s books, and this series is a spin off of the first series I ever read by her. I’ve never read the Daddy Dom Little Girl trope before, and I’ll be honest, I’m not upset.
Firstly, both of these characters are powerful in their own right, but both are missing something. They both need someone to love. Slay needs someone he can take care of. June needs someone who can be there when she needs to break.
Secondly, the one single thing I loved most about this book is the author shows that there is nothing at all wrong with portraying power and control in the public eye and needing someone to hold and love when the curtains are closed. She shows that love is love, as she does with all of her books, and that shaming that love is something no one should ever tolerate. Period. Full stop.
And lastly, this book doesn’t shy away from spice that leaves you panting. In other words, as all of her books are, this book is the perfect balance of spice, plot, and a growing relationship set in a very real world with real problems.
I never have read a story with the DDLG trope and I will tell you the spice in this story is on point. I didn't feel like it had to have more or less. It quenched my thirst for spice.
Slade (Slay) the older man who is hot as sin and has had the weight of the world on his shoulders from an early age and up. His life gets better, but he is lost without that someone. He needs the DDLG relationship and not just anyone can fill that.
June: The young quiet good girl that wants to abide by the rules. She grew up with both parents, but craves that DDLG relationship. She needs the structure and someone to tell her what to do. Thank the stars for her roommate/best friend Callie for introducing her to Slade.
Is Slade the perfect daddy for this good girl?
Hell yes he is! Their relationship is full of passion. They were each other's missing piece.
I'm not a fan of reading BDSM or TGBT books, but as a member of the beta and arc team, I have to give an honest opinion. The book revolves around Sly and June, two people from two different environments, each of them has his own suffering and his own past. The age difference between them is very large. They meet together in a toxic relationship that some may find disgusting and unacceptable, and others may enjoy it. For me, the author’s style in writing the plot and story line of the book motivated me to read and follow this journey. She used the method of exaggeration convincingly. Whether with Sly’s orders, rules, and surprises, or with June’s reactions, then she used realism in her parents’ position , reactions ،،Attitude and behavior on this relationship and June’s confrontation with them in defense of her relationship, and this is a part of the book that I loved. The ending they reached after this long journey, despite its strangeness, is dreamily romantic This book might not be suitable for some people but in general it's going to be to give it a try
Daddy Slay is a novella in the KC Chronicle’s Next Generation series. This is a Daddy/Little Girl trope. This is the second time I’ve read a DDLG book and it’s not something I generally go out of my way to choose but I was intrigued after meeting June’s character briefly in “I plead Guilty.” It’s a short read, and I think it was executed well. It’s also pretty spicy, the main focus is on their dynamic. I think that’s important to remember and keep in mind that this is not a traditional relationship. It’s pretty spicy, and there is also an 18 year age gap between June and Slay. They are instantly drawn to each other - Slay having been looking for his perfect Little Girl and June knowing that she needed a Daddy to take care of her. And there’s no denying that they both got what they were looking for. If you are into taboo, with no triggers I’d say this would be the perfect book to check out.
This was a super fast steamy little read I absolutely loved! All participants are of legal age, not related, and their engagement is fully consensual. This story is all about BDSM lifestyle, so don't get your panties in a twist😁 The dramatic start had me tricked, that I might be in for a different kind of story. SIKE😁 When the spice started spicing, I was not prepared at all, but oh how I enjoyed being introduced to the wonderful world of Slade's Daddy & Baby girl dynamic. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Slade and his little one June waste no time getting it on shorty after meeting. When you know you know😁 And when your daddy is Slade, you definitely know you must behave or else😁This couple is ridiculously hot!
Ok, I don't hate it or love it, I am not entirely sure what I feel about it other than i found it mostly funny and cute with a hint of spice to it.
This showed a whole different side to dom daddy that i normally love and used to. I really took a liking to Slade but i am not into the whole baby and teddy bear kink but I still enjoyed reading it, though it had me in fits of tears from laughter for the most part, rather than drooling over hunky daddy slade.
This will either brighten your day with laughter or have you burning up, depending on your views of these dom daddy and little girl kink. Either way is worth a read. Unless that kind of kink cringes you out, then you may want to avoid it, because this is fully baby/daddy feels than your full blown whips and chains.
Daddy Slay is part of the KC Chronicles Next Generation series. It is an age gap DDlg novella. This was a great story. The DDlg trope is the main focus of this story. Slade has had a rough life but has turned his life around. All he needs is to find a little girl to care for, his partner in life. June is lost since leaving her strict parents for college. She is in desperate need of a Daddy to care for her. They are a perfect match! Daddy Slay is short and spicy and dives into the world of DDlg. And did I mention piercings?!? Yep, there’s piercings! And hot spicy scenes! It’s a great read and I can’t wait for more!
This is the second book I read from D.L. Howe. We all know I'm not the keenest on romance or smut books... however, I was curious about the age gap trope this book seemed to have. It did deliver on the age gap but not in the fashion you'd assume. Yet again I was pulled into a world that removed me from my comfort zone. And, like the Firehouse 49 book she wrote I found myself wishing for more outside of the bedroom character development. Overall it was a very quick and spicy, but entertaining read as I literally read it within one day!
Slade and June won my heart. This story has everything in it, and oh my goodness 😍 I have no idea from where to start. Slade seems to have the entire world over his shoulders, but still something is missing. June was the opposite. She grew up in a family where her life seemed to be ruled, and when she got to the college, she felt somehow out of her world. June was Slade's missing piece, and it was amazing to "live" their story and watch it flourish before my eyes. I couldn't put it down, but at the same time, I didn't want to finish the book either. This story is a must-read!
Slade has a rough start at life but now that he has his life on track, he still miss something or someone. June is used to her parents doing everything for her but now she is on her own but she looking for someone to help her because she needs to be look have. When her besties introduce her to Slay their journey is perfect for them. Can Slay be the daddy June needs in end? You will need to read and find out.
This story gives you a different look at Dd/Lg and different kinks. Some of the scenes I was like WOW and some not so much. All I'm going to say is you do you boo. No matter what this author writes, She always know how to open your eyes to something new and different. Keep opening our eyes with each new book.
This was a quick read but it definitely doesn’t lack in the spice department!
It is an interesting and emotional age-gap DDlg love story that had me devouring it as quickly as I could and then taking a cold shower to cool down after closing the book!
Slade and June make the perfect and cutest couple. They were both exactly what the other was looking for at the right moment in time and together they will be able to fulfill all of their ultimate fantasies and desires.
I enjoyed every moment of this deliciously spicy and highly entertaining story!
They say opposites attract !! These two Slay and June are fireworks 💥 I loved this story it’s so well developed even for a short spicy book x For me I love that with Slays youth he could have gone in a completely opposite direction hating women forever, but he didn’t he channeled his energy in living and caring x
This was a snuggle up and spicy 🥵 book x loved it x
I’ve never read a book with a strong DDlg trope like this one but boy did I devour it. At first I was like this is kinda weird but that lasted a whole like 5 seconds because this shit was HOT. It’s quick, it’s short, and it’s oh so spicy.
Slade aka Daddy Slay is the older man who had a rough upbringing and feels lost without someone to take care of. He’s on the lookout for a DDlg relationship and is particular about who can fill that role.
June was raised with strict parents and when she goes to college is lost without that structure. She needs someone to control her, which leads to her roommate introducing her to Slade.
Slade is just what June was missing and she was just what he was missing. Their relationship is beautiful and so passionate.
