The Entity

Rate this book
THE ENTITY is the story of the haunting of Beth Kelly by spirits in her new home.

Beth soon finds that all is not as it seems in her idyllic new home, and most disturbingly she finds she is not alone there. Starting with small, explainable phenomenons Beth's dream becomes a living nightmare as the spirit - or spirits - in her home become intent on claiming her.

Is she going crazy? Or are the things which go bump in the night really out to get her?

I began writing as a hobby when I was still at school. Always very shy I never let a soul read any of my stories and sadly I have lost all of my note books and discs from back then so I can't salvage any of my young self's work!

In Autumn of 2012 I began thinking about a book which I tried to dismiss - after all it had been around a decade since I'd last allowed myself write anything. But this idea would not go away and so Danny Boy was born.

Apprehensively, I gave a copy to my parents to read - they were so encouraging that I found a way to publish it and got some lovely reviews. Since then I have published a further three short stories and am currently working on two new stories as well as editing my first paperback!

If you love to write then go ahead and write away; don't tell yourself it's silly or no good. I'm glad I stopped listening to my inner pessimist!

Beth is beginning a new life. Away from an old relationship, Beth settles into a beautiful home, and soon discovers a love interest. Pretty soon strange things start happening to Beth. A moved object, a strange noise. Suddenly, the once peaceful cottage becomes a place where she can no longer feel safe.

The Entity was very spookily entertaining. Not so scary to make you freak out, but enough to leave you feeling a shiver. The story-line moved along very nicely, and I really enjoyed all the “creepy” events that happened to Beth. There were a few minor errors in the book, but nothing to throw you out of the story. I really wish the author would have told us who the ghosts were and their back story; because I hit that 98% and was like…Hey I wanna know more! :D Very well written little book! In fact, it made me think I should buy more short stories. Keep an eye on this author!

A story of a beautiful home with a reasonable price. It's going to be a new start for Beth. She's very eager to immerse herself in it's warmth. It's perfect until small irriations start to occur. She tells herself that she's just paranoid, or is she? This book leaves you enough room to question what is going on while building up the suspense to the end of the tale. Their are a few minor editing errors but I found it overall an enjoyable read! I look forward to reading more from this author.
