New York Times bestselling author Deepak Chopra delivers a visionary and unprecedented exploration of how artificial intelligence can revolutionize well-being and open new horizons for personal development.
“AI has the potential to help us create a more peaceful, just, sustainable, healthy, and joyful world. Digital Dharma shows you a path.”—Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI
In a world captivated yet bewildered by artificial intelligence, spiritual icon Deepak Chopra, MD, illuminates AI’s untapped potential to unravel the enigma of consciousness, positioning AI not as a threat but as a catalyst for personal and collective growth. In Digital Dharma, Chopra navigates the balance between technology and expanded awareness, explaining that while AI cannot duplicate human intelligence, it can vastly enhance personal and spiritual growth.
Chopra shows readers how the most popular, freely available chatbots can serve as guides through every level of human potential—survival and safety, emotional connection, self-worth, abundance, creativity, wisdom, and the infinite possibilities of cosmic consciousness. AI chatbots offer information, advice, and exploratory avenues of untapped potential about any aspect of human awareness.
In practical terms, making AI your ally and guide depends on the art of the prompt, the questions a user poses to a chatbot. As Chopra shows in detail, by asking the right questions, you can bring AI into your inner world, which is where personal growth happens. Chopra provides a personal assessment for you to better understand yourself and exercises to help you expand your awareness in any part of your life.
Digital Dharma masterfully helps readers to harness AI, not merely as a technological tool but as a partner in crafting a future where human potential solves the urgent problems facing the planet and each of us as individuals. Deepak Chopra invites us to transcend our limitations and explore a relationship with AI that elevates collective consciousness and personal evolution at the same time.

GlobeIn acknowledges Chopra as "one of top ten most influential spiritual leaders around the world." TIME magazine has described Dr. Chopra as "one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century and credits him as "the poet-prophet of alternative medicine."
Chopra has come at this from an angle that could have been enlightening (he ostensibly wanted to explore how AI can be a guru to improve your EQ, through things like daily affirmations, personalised motivation and specific visualisations and meditations).
However the entire books reads like “I asked ChatGPT this, and here’s what it said”. While I appreciate transparency in the use of GenAI, this felt like he was cribbing on his homework.
Hopefully someone else will build on this theme to make it more impactful.
Moving this to the abandoned shelf. The premise is that you can use AI as a way to prompt self reflection, but the execution of the book is literally just Deepak Chopra entering search terms into ChatGPT and then reciting the answers back verbatim.
The content wasn't terrible, but it was a slog to read as a book. It felt lazy.
How can the most popular chatbots teach us to live more intentionally, embrace the present moment, and stabilize our emotions to focus on what truly aligns with our authentic selves? Deepak explores this compelling question, using chatbots as a unique lens to guide us in reflecting on our priorities and uncovering what truly matters in life. Unlike countless other books that merely examine how technology shapes and influences our way of living, this one takes a refreshing approach—highlighting how technology can be harnessed to foster more meaningful, intentional, and purposeful ways of life.
This book felt like it could have been an essay rather than a full-length work. While it may help someone very new to personal growth or AI, this is a tedious book that won’t age well.
Nowe narzędzia często budzą dyskomfort, bo zmuszają nas do zmiany przyzwyczajeń. A zmiana prawie zawsze wymaga wysiłku.
This book is a truly complete guide on how to use AI for our development and improvement. The author takes the rhythm with a good vibe and leads you to your deep consciousness without taking your feet off the earth. It is very interesting the way the old knowledge about self-awareness and the spiritual side of the human is now mixed with AI as a mentor on the path. Also, it is a very active book because it causes the effect of asking similar things to the AI, adapted to your own environment, which results in a personal experience with the book and with the AI. I think that is the purpose of the author, and it is a very good effort to put a strong tool in the reader's hands. If you only see conversations with AI, you have to read it again.
just found this on my bookshelf and decided to give it a read and dnf but from the first few chapters it's incredibly clear that deepak chopra has no idea how ai works or even bothered to do any research on it, which seems like a prerequisite of writing a book like this... it also comes off like he's doing promo for google and openai. the book is just his personal ai logs with some commentary
to say nothing of the qualms i have with his actual argument about ai aiding with "personal wellbeing"
I have tried to finish this book multiple times, but all attempts have been unsuccessful. It’s basically someone entering a prompt & he reads the answers. I have been a fan of his work for years, but I’m unsure where this book came from. I can’t recommend it. Would have been better as a podcast series when Ai was first introduced widely and people were curious. Possibly to point out the vast difference between a Google search and a deep dive with Ai. In my opinion, putting this into a book form was a mistake for such an esteemed author. Definitely a no go.
Got this book as a preview to seeing Deepak Chopra “Awakened Life” in person at Kripalu in the Berkshires. The 3 day event was enlightening. His presence alone brings awareness for those of us fortunate to have this experience. The book is packed with inspiration and a good read on a spiritual journey. AI as a new tool is interesting as it represents our collective thoughts which is what reaching true awareness and consciousness is all about.
Thank you Deepak another marvelous work filled with incredible information and real life application for how to interact with AI. I have not read all of his books but I started off with Quantum Healing in 1989. This book contains the latest tools for transformation personally and globally.
I love Deepak Chopra. Digital Dharma is a book that suggestions and many examples of how you can use ChatGPT or AI to assist you in your spiritual journey. Although this is an interesting idea, I found this book to be a lot of ChatGPT prompts and Deepak’s reaction to the results.
This book wasn’t the most eye opening to me. I will stick to Chopra’s meditation app instead.
It was okay. A lot of the book was on how to prompt and use AI for spiritual purposes like meditation. I held expectations that the author would dive more deeply into the relation between AI and the spiritual journey but in the case of this book, AI assumed the role of a spiritual mentor (which I felt was a deeply flawed perspective).
My first Deepak Chopra and AI read. I like how he approaches the idea of using technology, specifically large language model chat agents to look within. Also enjoyed hearing his musings on the nature of consciousness.
A fresh perspective on how we can utilize AI to explore any area of thought. This book really inspired me to start asking questions I never thought to ask.
I didn’t anticipate how much of the book would be ghost written literally by AI, but expanding the idea of our connection to cosmos and intertwined energy through leaning into AI was interesting.
I love the prompts that are in this book for using AI and creating personal well being. I am not an AI expert so this definitely will work for those who are not great with technology. Love the prompts to ChatGPT I started using the questions and this has given me an entirely different experience with AI.
