OH MY GOODNESS THAT ENDING!!
I was having such a wonderful time reading this volume as I was laughing SO much, only for me to feel like I was punched in the stomach with that plot twist!! What a turn of events and honestly I am still in shock!
But backing up, I loved this volume so very much! I really loved the beginning with Himuro and Fuyustuki being trapped in a room, but I honestly feel like almost all the other characters stole the show because hands down my favorite part was the "cooking show"! Oh my goodness the characters that were involved were hilarious and honestly felt like I was on cloud nine reading it because of how hard I was laughing! Wonderful wonderful chapter!
Of course, seeing Komori and Saejima as a couple was everything! I love seeing them together because both of them make so many blushy faces that I can't help but squeal at their interactions together! Hehe!
Truly, another fantastic volume that left me so happy, even if again, I'm still reeling from that bonus story and the implication of what it could mean for the future! EAGERLY needing and looking forward to the next volume!!

What a cliffhanger!!!
Just a few of my favorite moments 🥰❄️
-Fuyutsuki confessing that as a child, she was often forgotten by other kids. So much so, that she was left hiding in hot classroom during hide and seek... and Himuro's response: "If I had known you as a kid, I'd have changed to become someone who could protect you" 😭.
-Komori's panel literally going *BLUUU-space-UUSH* when Saejima gives her a bracelet

Omg okay so first they get stuck in a closet together shiv is so cute and awkward. Then when she gets the news she is transferring, things really escalate. It’s all very realistic. Himuro was so comfortable with the idea of telling her how he felt one day but now with her leaving, things are changing.
This is the best run to the airport (or train in this case) scene I have ever seen. He’s finally doing something or at least trying. He’s probably going to finally tell her next volume and I’m losing my shit.

Somehow, even though this could be said to end on a cliffhanger, I don’t feel too worried.
This volume continued the gentle slice of life vibes we expect, but didn’t do too much to actually move any of the relationships forward. Not that it needs to hurry; I quite enjoy the slower pace, though sometimes it feels like the characters are still a bit more distant than I would expect. I don’t know. It’s a sweet series at any rate.

A grand renfort de petits chapitres courts sur leur quotidien au boulot et entre amis qui n’ont l’air de rien sur le papier, l’histoire avance tendrement, montrant que les petits riens font tout.
J’ai une nouvelle fois pris une brise de fraîcheur et une bouffée de chaleur au cours des quelques chapitres parsemant ce tome qui respirent une nouvelle fois l’humour et la bonne humeur. J’adore suivre les douces aventures du quotidien banal de nos héros sublimé par les pouvoirs de ceux-ci et leur côté naïf et décalé. C’est très agréable à suivre alors même qu’il ne se passe fondamentalement rien d’extraordinaire.
Ainsi qu’on les retrouve coincés dans une salle d’archive, pris en sandwich au milieu d’un autre rendez-vous amoureux, ou avec leurs amis et famille, c’est toujours un plaisir. L’air de rien l’autrice fait en plus avancer leur relation. Elle les rapproche à l’aide de situation improbable comme la salle de la photocopieuse dont ils n’arrivent pas à sortir et qui fait ressortir les angoisses de Fuyutsuki. Cela permet de donner un joli rôle à Himuro et de montrer que même en n’étant pas l’image même de la virilité, on peut assurer ! J’ai beaucoup aimé.
Après les chapitres qui suivent sont plus anecdotiques bien qu’amusant. Ils concernant aussi bien leurs amis que famille. On se retrouve ainsi en pleine émission culinaire de pseudo star avec la soeur d’Himuro, à boire un verre au bar avec ce dernier, à se retrouver au café avec l’amie de Fuyutsuki et à gêner un peu son rendez-vous où elle démontre combien son petit ami est génial et j’en passe. Ce n’est finalement que dans le premier et surtout le dernier qu’il se passe quelque chose faisant avancer leur relation et la dernière révélation me semble bien prometteuse. Je croise les doigts que ce ne soit pas un pétard mouillé.
Charmante petite romance très très slow burn au boulot, The Ice Guy and Cool Girl, n’a rien d’extraordinaire et c’est justement dans sa banalité qu’elle trouve son éclat. A l’aide de petits moments du quotidien, on prend plaisir à voir ces deux maladroits se rapprocher et peut-être parvenir à se déclarer leurs sentiments comme leurs amis qui ont été plus rapide qu’eux et qui les encouragent d’autant plus désormais. On croise les doigts pour le prochain tome !

Ovviamente il volume si doveva concludere proprio sul più bello. Ovviamente. #maiunagioia
Dopo otto volumi siamo qui in attesa della dichiarazione di Himuro: questa volta deve prendere il coraggio a due mani, perché Fuyutsuki è in procinto di trasferirsi a New York per lavoro. Da una parte abbiamo Himuro che, vista la separazione imminente, non vuole creare problemi alla collega, scaricandole addosso sentimenti magari non graditi; dall'altro, c'è Fuyutsuki, che ha l'aria decisamente abbattuta e sofferente. Il suo sogno è sempre stato quello di lavorare all'estero, ma non mi sembra particolarmente entusiasta. Questa volta sarà Himuro a dover fare il primo passo e trovare il coraggio per dare voce ai suoi sentimenti...e qui ci toccherà aspettare un po' prima di poterci godere la scena. Direi che un bel lieto fine ce lo meritiamo, no?
Per il resto Komori e Saejima vanno alla grande e Himuro si è trovato un nuovo fan, il tizio che compone le canzoni per la sorella minore.
Comunque sia, questa serie si conferma sempre molto carina e rilassante, una piccola botta di serotonina che non guasta mai.

I picked this up as part of my continuation of this series.
“The Ice Guy and the Cool Girl, vol. 8” continues to follow Himuro and Fuyutsuki. In this volume it is revealed that Fuyutsuki will be moving to New York to work in the company’s office there. With Fuyutsuki about to leave, Himuro does not know whether he should share his feelings with her or not.
I was not expecting Fuyutsuki to make such a drastic move and leave Japan. This was such a big twist and really made me reinvested in their story. I honestly do not know which way I want the story to go now. I do not want to see Fuyutsuki give up her dream to move overseas and try something new, but I also do not want her to leave Japan.
I cannot wait to see what happens in volume nine!

As I gradually lose interest in this story and these characters, I think my main feeling is that, in my opinion, this concept worked better as little episodic gag stories, a la My New Boss is Goofy. Getting into more arc-like chapters and watching their relationships take big steps really shows all the holes in the mangaka's writing ability. The pacing is way too fast which makes moments that are supposed to be big, feel shallow, in my opinion. Overall, I think these chapters need more room to breathe and let things settle so that the audience can feel truly impacted.
I did really like this new dynamic between Ryusei and Himuro though, that was an enjoyable chapter!

Mais NOOON !!! Je ne peux pas rester sans savoir jusqu'au prochain tome c'est une torture ! Mais en même temps, c'était génial, comme toujours.
La lecture de cette série est vraiment un moment doux et tranquille. C'est apaisant lors de grosses journées.
Maintenant que je suis bien à jour, je n'ai plus qu'à attendre la suite de la série en tentant l'animé.

One of the manga that finally got an English version. I was nervous about the development of the relationship between Himuro and Fuyutsuki which made me nervous because Fuyutsuki wanted to move jobs. The next memorable chapter was when Himuro became Ryusei's role model.

This volume was kind of boring, although it did veer off into an unexpected direction towards the end, and cut off at a bit of a cliffhanger. That makes me marginally interested in continuing on to the next volume.

4/5 estrellas. Creo que había esperado tanto tiempo para leer este tomo, no me debe nada, pero siento que fue un poco lento, hay tomos más emocionantes. Obviamente es un número que deja para el próximo capítulo de la misma historia. Es una hermosa portada.

So much happening! Komori gushing over Saejima! Himuro makes a cake for his little sister and gains a fan! Fuyutsuki is transferring over seas! The anticipation and slow burn is coming to an end soon! I hope Himuro doesn’t botch it by being himself and tells her how he feels! 😩

On to read the next one ASAP because of that ending! I adore the beautiful art, characterization, and simple yet sweet story in this manga. It's so refreshing to read a story with a touch of magic, where adults communicate their feelings in a mature and respectful manner. 5 stars.
